261  Other / Meta / Re: BCT vs BTT abbreviation for this forum on: January 31, 2024, 01:07:32 AM
Fellow members of the local community, I tend to refer to BTT as an abbreviation for bitcointalk. They understand and we understand each other, so it depends on habits and what you like best. In fact, I've never been asked why BTT and why not BCT or something like that, so far it's no problem because they like it too. BCT or BTT are both good and I like both, but I often refer to BTT as an abbreviation of bitcointalk.

Unfortunately, the poll has closed, but BTT is my choice.

Yeah.. All Indonesians call this forum BTT, and perhaps no one has ever called it BCT. like bitcoin which uses the abbreviation BTC so an easier abbreviation is BTT, BT for bitcoin and T for talk. It seems that the poll results also have a very thin margin and the abbreviation BTT only won by a margin of 1 vote. I haven't voted yet and unfortunately voting has closed but I like the results because BTT won the vote

OP @vapourminer, Do you have plans to reopen voting?

Edit: Turns out I was bumping posts that had no comments for the last month, sorry I just realized
262  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 30, 2024, 01:42:11 PM
<…>
What will also be interesting to see is how January 2024 behaves once the month is over, bearing in mind the readjustments in campaigns/participants that have taken place after the ban on mixer campaigns, which might lead to seeing some changes in the information shown. That’s something you’re already looking at and commenting in the monthly update, so let’s see if anything worth highlighting comes up with the next update.

I'm sure there will be many changes in posting behavior in the January report, I've started to notice this since the first week of January: Changes Discussion Behavior in Forum. But that's normal because most gambling campaigns require posting in certain threads. But I don't know whether this condition will have a big impact on the local board or not

I do somehow feel that its harder to find interesting topics lately but I don't know is it just me and I am less interested in forum at the moment or there's an actual change.

Maybe you need to gamble to find a topic that is interesting enough... lol  Cheesy
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: January 30, 2024, 01:07:23 PM
As a member of a family and there is a gambling addict within, which method do you think it's the best to rip off the addict from your family member?

1. Talk to them and don't leave their side for too long, show them some love and make sure they don't have anything to do with gambling ever again, be soft and gentle with them.

2. Be harsh about it, force them to quit, let them know that gambling isn't this safe, bounce on them all the time because you love them, don't go any soft on them, because been soft won't make them see reasons why it's bad to be a gambling addict.

Which do you think it's best?

If he can still be talked to and has not entered the acute gambling addiction phase then the first option is the right choice. However, if he finds it difficult to hear advice to stop gambling then it is better to use professional help, in my opinion this is more logical and there is a big chance that he can recover from his addiction.

If gambling addiction is left unchecked, it will cause many losses, harm to himself and the people around him, he is also at risk of committing crimes to get money.

I have sent payment to your wallet and asked for an extension for 4 weeks, sorry I was late in paying. If I am still short of paying you can add it to the next due date.

SELAMAT!! Agak laen kadang-kadang kalau kutengok  Grin.

267  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: BITCOIN CORE on: January 30, 2024, 02:48:14 AM

268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 29, 2024, 10:57:40 PM

However, I'm wondering if addiction can make someone become aggressive to the point of leading to domestic violence. Has there been any known case of it happening? Lets know what you have to say.

Of course, this is very possible, especially if the person has lost a lot of money gambling. When a person no longer has money, he can do anything to get money and because his family is the closest person to him, he can resort to domestic violence to vent his losses or ask his wife and children for money. Maybe this will happen to gambling addicts who are acute and cannot think logically about the actions they take because they are too stressed about their losses and debts.

I once heard a story from a friend of mine that his neighbor often scolds his wife if he loses at gambling. This person becomes temperamental and gets angry easily if he loses at gambling.
269  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: January 29, 2024, 08:25:08 PM
What is the opinion of members about this? Is it fine allowing members here to promote or mention competing forums without paying this forum owner or taking his permission  ?

I just found out that bitcointalk has competitors, who are bitcointalk's competitors? Do you mean altcointalk? I think here many people are talking about altcointalk since mixers were banned in the forum but altcointalk is not a competitor to bitcointalk because its vision is different and I believe the level of altcointalk is still far from bitcointalk. Several times I visited altcointalk, although I have not joined there but the forum seems to be dedicated to money while bitcointalk is not, dedicated only to bitcoin, there is no money interest behind it. I'm sure if theymos want money then they will open an advertising slot on the forum and there will be lots of companies queuing to get that slot.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are every activities/competitions with stake known to be gambling? on: January 29, 2024, 12:40:38 PM
Me: Gambling is a game of chances to winning or loosing where stakes are involved. It is an activity of personal desires to decide if you derives chasing after profits or catching funs.

However you tends to define gambling, it would be incomplete if stakes, risks and challenging activities (competitions) are not mentioned.

You can defined it your way but my interest is to understand this>>> Are sports games or related competitive activities which stakes are involved between both sides or teams also gambling?
Remember, there would be a winner to be rewarded and a looser to lost the stakes.

Gambling is an activity that involves betting money on something. So if there is no money in it then it is not gambling. Gambling always involves two parties where one wins and the other loses, so there is risk and money in every gambling

If we bet money on a match then it is gambling, but if we are football players and take part in the match then it is not gambling even though when we win the match we will get a prize.

273  Other / Meta / Re: [SAD] activity on: January 29, 2024, 02:29:41 AM
Don't know if I'm being too emotional here but I think my activity's stuck when it's just 2 left for me to achieve my senior member rank. Anyone here has an experience of what makes mine stuck  Cry ?
I tried reading through the forum about merits and activity and it seems activity is supposed to add up every 14 days so does this mean I have to wait for 2weeks 🥺

Haven't you read the activity rules? activity will increase every two weeks and since you already have enough merit, you just need to wait until you have enough activity to rank up to Sr.

You can find out when the activity schedule changes every two weeks through this spreadsheet. Don't worry budd, in 2 weeks you will rank up, congratulations
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hey Gamblers, Here's Some Questions for you. Would Love your Responses on them on: January 29, 2024, 01:48:40 AM
1. What's the most effective method for discovering a new online casino when you're seeking a change from your usual options?

Before joining the bitcointalk forum I usually gambled at local casinos in my country and used fiat. After getting to know this forum, I prefer to gamble using crypto and I trust casinos on this forum more, so I prefer to look for casinos on this forum.

2. How would you describe your overall satisfaction with any of the mentioned options?

Maybe just neutral

3. Would you recommend a beginner to follow a similar approach based on your personal experiences?

I rarely recommend someone to play at my favorite casino, I don't want to be blamed if he has a problem with his gambling. However, if anyone asks, I will recommend it, of course at his own risk
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 28, 2024, 07:37:15 PM
Hey, guys! Are any of you emotional gamblers who often lose because you can't control what you feel? When you lose, do you tend to double your bets or chase your losses, driven by a pride that can't accept defeat? Do you consider this a problem? If so, has anyone here been able to solve this kind of problem themselves, and if yes, how did you do it?

I think every gambler has had an experience like that. When we lose, we usually increase the bet in the hope that if we win we will get our money back or even make a profit, but when the win doesn't come, the balance will run out quickly and often when emotions are bad, we will chase losses and it will definitely get worse.

I think we need to use common sense and gamble only when our minds are okay. If our minds start to get confused because of losing, it's better to stop and leave the house, maybe go for a walk or do something you like. If I usually eat chocolate, chocolate is good for my mind because it makes me feel relaxed. You may need to try it

278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would the bitcoin price behave during a monetary collapse? on: January 28, 2024, 12:42:40 AM
Imagine that during a financial meltdown there is a cascade of banks failing and closing. What would happen to the bitcoin price?
Would it rise because of hyperinflation or would it crash because there is no liquidity to enter the markets?

I am sure that what will happen in the next few years is something that is regulated, the financial system will not collapse unless there are parties who want to change the financial system. I believe we will never return to the barter system, and if the fiat system collapses then the system that might be implemented is digital currency or cryptocurrency.

I'm not sure bitcoin is an alternative to replace fiat system, but if the fiat system collapses and is replaced by digital currency or cryptocurrency then bitcoin will have a positive impact because of it. So let's find out what the global elite has planned for new world order  Cheesy

279  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Pajak di Indonesia [Taxes in Indonesia] on: January 27, 2024, 03:20:11 PM

I really appreciate your feedback and answers, they were enlightening. From what I understand, the problem here is not the value of the fee, but rather the fact that it is taxed twice - something that really doesn't make much sense.

I don't know how big traders handle tax issues in our country, but for me who uses the exchange for small amounts of activity, the tax is not too burdensome at all.

The law that regulates taxation in Indonesia is PMK 68/PMK.03/2022 which is regulated by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. I don't know whether crypto tax in Indonesia is high or not, and if I may ask, how much is the tax in your country @joker_josue?

Good question! It was a little because of this that I came here to open this topic.

In Portugal, it has only been since 2023 that cryptos have started to be taxed. But, only based on the profit obtained between the purchase/sale in the last year.
The tax amount is 28% on the profit obtained. Yes, you read that correctly and it wasn't a translation error: 28% tax.

Many use mechanisms that allow you to manage this type of situation, so that it does not become so complicated. But, poor management can actually lead to paying a high fee.

In Brazil, things are a little different, perhaps a colleague can come by and explain.

Serius?

Cheesy

Seriously? 28% crypto tax in a year? How does the government collect taxes from crypto traders? Does the exchange calculate how much profit you make in a year? Or do you have to report your income to the tax office?

I think that's a very large number, maybe it's time for you to take to the streets to demonstrate or at least you can create an online petition..  Cheesy
280  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Pajak di Indonesia [Taxes in Indonesia] on: January 27, 2024, 11:05:40 AM

As far as I know, it is true that the news in our country (Indonesia) applies double taxes, namely VAT (Value Added Tax) and PPh (Income Tax). The tax mechanism is handled by crypto exchanges such as the INDODAX exchange and taxes are taken when we carry out trading activities (taker and maker) and when we make withdrawals from the exchange. In 2023 there will be a decrease in crypto tax results in Indonesia, this may happen because many people use the Binance exchange and Binance is still illegal in our country because Binance does not take care of operating permits in our country but the P2P system owned by Binance allows us to transact crypto on binance with our country's local currency (IDR)
