pps price keeps dropping, it has lost almost 6% since the change. As others have stated the average problem seems to be a negative feedback cycle, priced out miners lower their pps rate to get public work, which impacts the average causing other miners to be priced out, so they lower their pps rate, which further lowers the average, etc etc.
As it should be... free market should set the price.

Pirate,  is there any way we could convince you to disclose the pricing algorithm?  As stated above, my concern is that we are getting caught in a negative feedback loop.  If the algorithm never allows for 100% of sellers to be getting public work, the price is going to just keep dropping as those who are on the top end keep chasing public work by lowering their prices.  This will cause new sellers to be priced out, causing them to lower their price, causing new sellers to be priced out, etc, etc, ad infinitum.

If this is the case, this isn't a free market situation.  There will be sellers willing to sell shares at a price buyers want to puchase shares, but they will never be allowed to meet due to systemic limitations.

Sigg

No, we don't disclose any more information than we've already outlined.   This is just the normal rebalancing that happens after a couple major players make changes and it takes time to settle like it did before.  If everyone would set the lowest they're willing to pay for shares this wouldn't be an issue but everyone wants to make the most they can and causes things like this.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. Sad

Is it correct i can only use GPUmax for official pools.
but i can't get hashing power for test my pool?

What then have been senselessly gpumax?

is it correct, can you pleas tranlate back my bitcoins,
because I can use less gpumax.

You can point workers to any Bitcoin pool but purchases can only be made on supported pools.

To request a refund, please email support@gpumax.com.  Thanks.

When i using a Worker (on privat mining), then is it work.
The shares from the Worker was submit to the Pool.

i am using pushpool.

on the Page i can't select a pool software....

I have see, if i save the settings from a pool with the url http://xxxxx.tld:xxxx the page says "Can't connect to the pool" but if i use "xxxxx.tld:xxxx" it works.

on submit the settings are with http: ....
so i think this is the problem, then http is port 80.

http has nothing to do with port 80 its just the default port.  It should work either way as long as you are using the correct port, but make sure the pool you are using is a supported pool from the OP.  If the pool saves that just means the settings are correct not that its a supported pool.

Where can you find the average asking price of miners?

You can't AFAIK.
By buying? Roll Eyes

I don't think that's the average asking price; it changes extremely infrequently.
Mainly because the average ask is controlled by large miners. Little miners with odd prices aren't going to affect the price of large miners with normal prices. I have seen it change before.

This is correct, we have a lot of miners with 30GH+ and few with over 200GH which pretty much control the prices for now.

Any chance that there are more invites being sent out? Would like to play around with this as it looks rather slick.

Yes, invites are still going out.  I know it's been a while.  We're trying, I promise you.

Thx

We're heavily backed up on purchases but looking at your account it looks like you have the purchase pointed to a non supported pool.  So your purchase won't even hit the queue until that is corrected.  You can change the pool by clicking on your purchase and choosing a supported pool (created from the mining pools section) from the list.

Thanks,

Thank you pirateat40.  You are a great asset to this community.  I can't wait to see what rabbit you pull out of the hat next.

Thanks I appreciate that. Smiley

Update

All payments have been made to bring accounts current as of 4/1/2012 23:59 CST.  Which includes the final payment on the old system and a single day (4/1/2012) payment on the new system.  Your next payment will be on April 9th at 12:00PM CST which will include 4/2/2012 - 4/8/2012 CST.

You can continue to monitor transactions and balance information on the old site until the new site is up and running.  I'm working as fast as possible to get it up but it's been a handful.  The new site includes a lot of new features and services and I want to make sure everything is secure before it launches.  It also has a new URL which I'll post along with all the new features and changes when it's up.

Thanks again everyone for you patience and on-going support.  There is much more to come. Smiley

Yes, the payment you got already is just to close out the old system.  You will receive another payment today for the one day to start the new system.

Some news "coming soon" should cause pricing to stabilize or even move up.

PM me the details.

Pirate: The last interest payment in March was going to bring my balance above one of the thresholds for receiving higher interest (I had calculated it like this). Now that you have postponed the payment on the 31st, do I still receive the higher rate on the first day of April?

Of course... Smiley
273  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: April 01, 2012, 03:03:31 PM
Update:

Lenders, the date you see on the site now is just to end the prior interest payment schedule.  Your first interest payment will be tomorrow, Monday 2nd which will include the prior schedule payment and one day on the new system.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks.

If you are pushing around multiple TH as you seem to suggest, it should come as no surprise people are curious about who's buying and where its going.. thats a pretty significant chunk of the entire network and its a bit clouded in mystery right now.

Who is buying?  We do have some addicts. Smiley

I know, and I wasnt even trying that, I was actually only looking for increases at the approved pools, to see where they ended up, and couldnt find a lot.

The approved pool list is a bit outdated as well.  I'll get it updated, we're always testing new pools, capable speeds and it get's tedious to keep updated.

Looking forward to seeing on the site where the hashes are being sent to; Im just curious as anyone whats being done with them and how that could make them worth 160% PPS to the buyer.

We have no shortage of purchases and with a few things "coming soon" the purchase volume is only going to increase.

I know some people want more information and it seems to be clouded in mystery but I'm confident that within the next month everyone will see the big picture and we can all just sit back and enjoy.

275  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Using a 220V wash machine outlet for power..... on: March 29, 2012, 02:11:00 PM
So I have this fantastic utility room with lots of space, great ventilation, and a big ole 220 volt outlet.

I would like to set-up some miners in this room, but I want it to fit in seemlessly with my wife's lovely (and massive) front loading spaceship looking washer and dryer.

Anyone have some experience splitting the power outlet so multiple appliances can be hooked up?  I really dont want to have to switch back and forth everytime we have to do laundry.

It would be great to run the miners off of the same outlet without doing too much re-modelling!

Any advice would be great.

LOL, switch back and forth... Do you know how much power that dryer uses?  You might be able to run maybe 1 card with it running. Sad

I don't understand what any of this means...Who do I send my money to?

That's the point... make them so hard to understand that you just make money!!!

GPUmax seems to be buying again nonstop atm, and has been for the past 8 or 12 hours. I dont know how many GH GPUmax controls, but its clearly in the 100s of GH, if not nearer 1TH.

The first post in this thread shows a list of approved pools where you can send hashes to if you buy them. We all wonder who is buying, but perhaps we can find out at least where they are being sent. I checked them all, one by one. Lets go over them:

Deepbit. It has no historical charts for hashrate that I can find, but its currently at 3.9 TH, which is roughly where it was yesterday.
Slush, no historical charts either, but atm down ~200GH compared to yesterday
BTC guild. No real change: https://www.btcguild.com/pool_chart.php
Ozcoin: down by 50 or so GH, perhaps more, but they had some downtime: https://ozco.in/content/hashrate
Arsbitcoin:  not sure, but compared to Organofcorti's analysis, down by 50+GH https://arsbitcoin.com/poolstats.php
Eclipse: no change: https://eclipsemc.com/graphs/historical_rate.php
Bitclockers: no change, slightly down perhaps but also had downtime: http://bitclockers.com/statistics
BTCmine: down ~50GH compared to yesterday : http://btcmine.com/stats/
Bitminter: down ~40-50GH compared to yesterday (no charts, but https://bitminter.com/livestats/big)

So almost all of them are down since gpumax became active again and miners are no longer mining on their private pools; ,
But best I can tell, none are really up either. So if those "lost" hashes from the above pools,  plus the hashes that come from pools that are not on that list, like Clipse and Goat, P2Pool, or whatever,  if they dont end up on any of those approved pools... where are they going?

Pirate, is that something you are willing to disclose, and if not, why not?

edit: shortly after writing this, gpumax seems to have stalled, and I notice deepbit is down ~400GH, slush is back up the 200GH it was missing earlier. Are they being sent to deepbit?

Morning,

I have to say that I'm always impressed with the lengths our community will go to find out all kinds of statistical data.  With that said, GPUMAX does not disclose current/historical hash rates or by whom/where the hashes go.  I can tell you that we've gained the attention of some very large miners that need no pool to be profitable.  So even if you could gather all the information on every pool it would be hard to determine a total.  We do plan on adding some indicators on the site that show the loads we send to each pool but that is down the road a little longer.

P.S.  If you believe we've had this much trouble managing "100s of GH" I'm confident in saying that you might be underestimating us. Wink!

In other news, the system ran last night without issue and looks like we fixed the primary bug that was holding us back.  Now on with the show...

We're working out a couple more bugs and purchases will resume.
279  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: March 28, 2012, 02:48:52 PM
Unrelated to anything you guys are actually talking about, but I think that this should be made the official logo for First Pirate Savings and Trust.

I'm after giving a talk at a conference in Latvia to a bunch of European bankers and I mentioned this, got a lot of raised eyebrows.

I LIKE IT!

Update

After a problematic migration we're now ready to fire back up the system and throw everything we can at it.

It's now time to get back to inviting.  To those that have patiently waited on the waiting list, I'm sorry for the delays and hope it will be worth the wait. Smiley

Enjoy,
