261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halvings on: May 31, 2016, 08:34:02 PM
No

Mining will run on mining fees

If you want to spend, just pay a small fee,

Since we already have over 2 transactions per second (and reached the limit of what the current bkocksize can support) by the time block rewards become really small we will probabkh have 1000s of transactions per second.   Even if the fees are really low, the miners will make lots of money from fees.

The block rewards are supposed to be a subsidy for miners to help them in the early days where the transaction fees aren't enough to make mining profitable. The network is expected and supposed to grow to sustain itself.

I think a small amount of every fee should be pooled, and some how miners, address holders vote on upgrades/ paying for fixes.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: May 31, 2016, 08:31:00 PM
Bitcoin can never be more than niche, due to its scaling issues.  Transaction fees will escalate to make it impractical for all transactions less valuable than, say, a week's pay for a professional in a first-world country.

Bankers may use it as a settlement channel, or lend (pieces of paper redeemable for) it at fractional reserve.  But there is absolutely NO way that bankers will not figure out how to profit from it.

Btc can evolve, and change.. I know it's hard to image with it's current state.
263  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: NEW BTC Faucet up to 5000 satoshi every 5min on: May 31, 2016, 08:29:05 PM
Cool, this seems like a small amount now. Imagine what 300 sats will be worth in 10 years time.
264  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: May 31, 2016, 08:27:25 PM
Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?!

Because they are a jealous bunch, most of them are butt hurt because they missed the boat and don't have enough money to buy lots of BTC. So they dream about $1 Bitcoin and how they'll buy thousands if that happens.

Exactly knee jerk reaction, for people who don't understand,or don't want to. Haters ..
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: May 27, 2016, 01:23:53 AM
when i become rich, first thing to do is buy a new house, car , make a business, invest in some company, then when everything is stable, that is the time i will gamble my extra money , but just for fun

Nice plan but can't you just remove the gambling plan. Everything is stable and you have everything, why do you even need gambling for fun? It might be the cause of your demise if you gamble so better not do it. Better spend your money on better things like vacation, sports or new hobbies. Spend your time on things than can make you a better and healthier person.

I couldn't have said it better myself "DITTO".. They old saying how do you make a small fortune? Start with a big one  Wink Meaning don't gamble it away.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Lisk hit $ 5 ??? on: May 27, 2016, 01:16:46 AM
I hate to be a downer.. Becareful there is a lot of negative mojo on Lisk. I'm hoping for the best for everyone involved, but everything points to incompetence, and Eth bandwagon for quick money. They have the capital now to pull it out, but so far including the launch says be very wary.
267  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best way to buy a lot of bitcoins? on: May 27, 2016, 01:06:37 AM
Local bitcoins .. Find users that accept bank deposit, with instant payout ,and high ratings. You can get them almost instantly, and your protected using the escrow. You enter in the amount you want to buy, from them.. Local bitcoin escrow grabs that amount out of their account, and holds it. Then they contact you via realtime in the next window, they give you their bank account detail. You goto any branch of that bank, deposit in users bank account. You don't give the bank any of your info or id. You just give them a deposit slip. Then you will have  take a pic of the deposit slip/ write on it upload to that window. They watch the deposit happen online also. Then you get your coins.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: May 27, 2016, 12:48:48 AM
Destroy your ability to get access ! Unless you live in vegas, you probably do it online. If so destroy your credit card's, call them up and cancel them. Close your paypal account, give your debit card, money to your parents to put in a safe at their house. So you have to go ask, to get more than you need . Let them know whats going on if you really want to stop.  Make it impossible for impulse actions to get you in trouble. This isn't a game, some people lose everything, then everything again.
269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Boring times ahead: $450 until end of June on: May 27, 2016, 12:38:59 AM
I kind of agree.. However with one caveat. If the U.S. banking/economy has an unforeseen crash, which there are somethings pointing to this before the end of June. If this happens, Bitcoin=moon
270  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: May 27, 2016, 12:34:10 AM
For me it's still better if I still have a daily job instead of going full-time in bitcoin.
Profit in bitcoin is very unstable and unpredictable, IMO.
But it is the best if we have a daily job and at the same time, you own a business integrated with Bitcoin.
Right now, I have a daily job and I'm earning a bitcoin as a side job (sig campaign, faucet, faucet refs and mining). But I'm planning to own a business with bitcoin as only one of the mode of payments while still holding on to my daily job.

I agree .. Do what you have to now. Get as much bitcoin as you can, now. Future bitcoin prices moon(next galaxy), then full-time bitcoin=retire!

272  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NYC Will Fine You $250,000 For ‘Misgendering’ A Transsexual on: May 27, 2016, 12:13:20 AM
Thank your loving U.S. Government, and its controlled media arm for all of this political correctness. It's is nothing more than divide, and conquer. It's all designed to keep us all in fighting.  They are fomenting racism, with crap like can't say brown bag, certain flags, or costume parties,  Donald trump is _______ fill in the blank, LBGT= Lesbian/Bisexual/Gay/Transgendered to cause more division, blacks against police, Black lives matter, white guilt, white privilege  etc..

It's about keeping us from uniting, and addressing the real problems.  I also really think that Michelle Obama, who Obama himself has called her/him Michael on several several occasion's on camera (look it up), is transgender. This could be another reason for all this transgender push.

Btw who calls their wife a guys name by accident ? Never ever would I accidentally call my girlfriend, or my wife accidentally, by another genders name.
273  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: May 24, 2016, 04:16:21 AM
They are one in the same. You have to save, to achive the other.  Personaly its all dependent on your goals, and risk tolerance. I do both.. I buy gold, silver, while also making some educated risked investments.  While holding enough cash to run my lifestyle, and emergencies.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: May 24, 2016, 04:02:44 AM
I feel it's more of a personality disorder, completely mental. Kind of the opposite of a panic attack. You've created feelings of euphoria so strong from winning. It's like a high from a drug. Once it's stops, you still want more it.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 17, 2016, 10:21:54 PM

276  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: May 17, 2016, 06:55:33 PM

OMG!!! LOL thats is soooooo true. Love that pic! I'm gonna post it at a few places. It should be on Drudge if it isn't already.
They should show Bill Clinton flying above the mountains in the Pedo Jet.  Maybe show a few of his rape victims, trying to make a statement to the press as their backs are turned.
277  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Going Solo Lotto with an old rig on: May 17, 2016, 06:52:00 PM
The thing is, you should only hope for the block reward of 12.5 since the halving is just in the corner and block rewards cuts into half as well. I've seen someone got lucky with an Antminer S3 in 2014 (IIRC), but with as little as 1.5 GH/s is surely mission impossible for you. On a side note, it's nice seeing someone positive Wink

I like to be positive. :-) Everyone, but everyone is saying.. "Don't mine, waste of time, Oh No, you aren't still mining are you..., give it up, you'll go blind..." but I don't care. I still see thousands of people on just this forum - so someone's still doing it other than me. If I wanted to run a business and make a profit, I'd run a street snack stall outside a Shanghai Metro station.
If I want' to enjoy myself fiddling with IT stuff, and seeing how it works, bitcoin mining is a whole field of interest in itself.
For example - I have a spare, very old, Toshiba L630 Laptop running Windows 10. I put the Windows App "Bitcoin Miner" on it the other day, created a Blockchain wallet and let it rip. They pay each time it clocks up 2,790 Satoshis. In two days I made GBP 0.02, about 3 cents US. Somebody else sent me $0.42 (in btc) I've no idea who or why. And someone else sent me a few cents worth of Sartoshis for signing up to their newsletter.

I purchased an Antminer U1 from ebay, new, for about £37 I think it was, just to try it out with MacMiner. Setup is a bit iffy, but it's running. Anyway, I looked at slushpool's payout program, where I had a pool link going, and they apparently don't pay out until you have practically mined a whole bitcoin. Which in my case will take about 7 years... I mean who cares. I can't wait that long for anyone's payout. So I thought I'd just let it run on the ckpool's lotto web site until I think of something better to do with it.

and mean time, I'm learning a lot about bitcoin, and bitcoin technology. I'm having a lot of fun, and it's helping me avoid doing all sorts of other things, like earn a living, have a social life, ... I could care less about profit, power costs, and ROI.

So at the moment, 2750 Sartoshis is worth about £0.02 - if Bitcoins get scarcer and harder to get, the value will only go up, so that 2 bits worth may well become, well, maybe even 4 bits !!!

One has to stay positive in this life :-)

One has to stay positive in this life :-)

Not a truer word has been said. Keep at it, you have what it takes to be/have what the other 90% want.
278  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: May 17, 2016, 06:15:45 AM
I've been mining for years. Thought is was about time I posted a little something.
Here's my current rig.

6 - S7's overclocked total avg. 30.40 Ths
Total system pulls 62.3 amps
Rig dumps exhaust into my forced air return duct.
Currently in my area I have my power flat rate power for the next 1 1/2 years.
Total electric for the entire house is $450 a month.
Because of the flat rate, I can run the miners and the A/C at the same time and during the winter they keep my house around 70 deg.

nice!  thats a sweet setup.

Bravo Sir .. Ditto "sweet setup!" Did you sneak that into work on a Saturday? Great idea /Free electricity make it blend in with all the other server racks.
279  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: May 17, 2016, 06:09:43 AM
Currently, there are 30 GPU's in my farm total. 5 rigs of 6 cards each. 4 of the rigs are running Gigabyte R9-380's, 6 cards each for 120 MH/s per rig. I built one rig, using 6 of the R9-290/390 family that hashes at 180 Mh/s.

PSU's on the 380 rigs are EVGA 1300 watt Gold rated. PSU on the 290/390 rig is EVGA 1600 watt Gold rated.

All Asrock BTC H81 Motherboards, Celeron Dual cores, Powered USB 3.0 1x to 16x risers.

5 Dedicated outlets in my garage off the electrical panel. $0.10 KWh costs.

Very cool, honestly I think GPU rigs are probably the safest bet, very good warranties and a great resale on them. I mean look at the life of 7950, it launched January 2012 and it is still being used to mine. This rig could go on for a very long time if you need it to.

I'd have to concur on this one sir. My 7950's have paid for themselves over, and over again from back in the day, to now mining Eth. In fact, I just picked up couple more a few month ago. They are almost worth what I paid for them new $299 years ago.

Side note:
$244 used on Amazon.

I was thinking the same thing. Plug in my old butterfly lab jalapeño, and see if i can hit it. May take 3 days or 10+ years who knows.  I think maybe just holding atleast 1 BTC for 10-20 years maybe Hundred thousand to a Million times, more profitable. Wink
