261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] An (even more) optimized version of cpuminer on: June 27, 2013, 12:49:51 PM
When I configure CFLAGS="-03" is says that "C cannot compile executables"
It's "-O3", not "-03". See the difference? (It's big O, not zero.)

Holy Crap!! That is why it always says that it cannot compile executables!

Thanks Pooler, Ive been doing this wrong for a long time

I really hope this is real. Because so far this is a great lottery

Just curious, and wanted to know how the OP doubled his money. Was it a Satoshi Dice roll? Micro-Lending?
263  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: scrypt-jane? CPU optimization on: June 27, 2013, 12:36:52 PM
I am using win7

I tried re-downloading the cpuminer and running it from the command line, but every time I change the algo to scrypt-jane it refuses to start.  Is there no windows client built with the scrypt-jane algorithm added?

Dont worry dude, Im in Linux Ubuntu as well as Linux and I cant get scrypt-jane  to work no matter what I do

I also have a 64 bit system

Question on CFLAGS:

When I configure CFLAGS="-03" is says that "C cannot compile executables"

But if I use "./configure CPPFLAGS="" and then "make" tehre are no errors after the configure command

Does this make any sense and is there any reason NOT to do this when the miner seems to work just fine (sometimes better depending on the pool)?

I put a paste up addressing this issue.

http://pastebin.com/iLSck4ES

Please not that I am aware of teh typo re: "CPFLAGS" it was supposed to read "CFLAGS"

Would like some feedback

Thanks
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] XenCoin XNC | Official Development Thread on: June 26, 2013, 11:51:43 AM
Very excited, there haven't been enough new coins lately! And a dev thread makes it seem quite credible and hopeful.

Second. I have been sitting here thinking the same thing. Most of the time I come up with crazy ideas...like, why cant someone just copy the Litecoin blockchain, rename the coin, change the total amount to be ever created, etc. Because lets be honest, if someone could figure that out, we could have a couple new coins.

Imagine if they tried to launch a coin without a dedicated dev thread? No "dev"ing would ever take place.

Im just ecstatic. Its been too long since we had a new coin launch. I just want to see a topic on here with the title [sic] "Introducing the next altcoin (insert name here)". That would get me excited

Looks like that makes the the largest BQC holder right now Smiley

You appear to have added a black pixel next to your 5 with an image editor.

How odd.

Thats just for teh lulz
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin.org Official Thread on: June 25, 2013, 06:47:27 PM
I like BBQcoin also. I just started mining it a week ago, but stopped due to all the connection issues at ub3rl33t.
And with the increasing difficulty it is no longer profitable to solo mine.

A few good mining pools next to ub3rl33t are really needed at this point. Preferably one with stratum support and with servers in EU en US.

Go to Dig's Pool (PPS)

bbq.ltcoin.net

Plus if you have any problems he gets right back to you

800 billion coins, they ain't worth fuk all

second (scruffy.jpg)

Right now I don't know I should cry or laugh.  The people holding XNC don't know how to dump. First they are using an exchange with zero volume and second thing they are doing are selling so low that it can't even be called dumping. Cry Lips sealed

Reading my mind
I think it is time to stop mining this coin unless I find a throwaway laptop that I dont mind running until it burns out
269  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB Ready to Hash Everywhere in the World on: June 23, 2013, 11:51:15 PM
Yes ROI is going to be rough, but you have no idea of what the future price of BTC will be.

Also, buying one of these; just for the _fun_ of it and helping the BTC community, is more important than how rich you get!

It's the idea that is important, not the product!

The first line of this is wild speculation and is nonsense. It is then followed up with even more nonsense. If there are any newbies here take note of how not to think when getting involved in Bitcoin. There are other ways to grow your coins without having to live on prayers, dreams, and baseless "what ifs"

I dont even know what a  USB Block Exploder is. Just Googled it and got this thread and some irrelevant youtube videos
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CPU Mining: Computer just got real quiet...confused on: June 21, 2013, 10:37:11 AM
So, I have only been CPU mining with an older Dell Vostro 200 (only upgrade was to RAM, otherwise its factory). Im mining in Pool-X and also mining BBQ coins in Silverwolf and Dig's ltcoin.net

All of the sudden my computer got real quiet last night. When I would start my miner up via the terminal it would immediately start making a "vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" sound and the CPU monitor would jump to 100%

Now the "vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise is gone. But the hash rate is the same. CPU fan and exhaust fan are operating just fine. What the heck used to make that noise and should I be concerned after months of it doing that and suddenly stopping? I thought it might have been the fan on my power supply but I just cant tell.

This computer is really quiet...always has been. Except when mining. So for months I have been used to hearing that noise. Now that it is gone I am really worried.

 Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS-everything seems cool too. CPU is cool, all heatsinks on motherboard are not really hot. And nothing came unplugged

Is anyone trying to sell me 3,000 Xencoins for Bitcoins?

IM sure someone would be glad to. What are you offering?
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XNC] XenCoin | Instant Transactions | Stable | Long term Support | Usable on: June 20, 2013, 02:28:37 AM
5% premine??? 0.5% got a lot bashing, 5% here, what the fuck? pass

Oh crap!! I read it wrong, I read it wrong. I thought it was .5%... NOT 5 effin Percent! That is an insane premine that doesnt even make sense
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XNC] XenCoin | Instant Transactions | Stable | Long term Support | Usable on: June 20, 2013, 02:25:02 AM
Wow, people are getting hundreds of coins given to them. Im CPU mining, getting a 10% stale rate, and only have 12 xencoin after a few hours. Maybe its time to kill it and go back to my PPS BBQ pool and my PPLNS LTC Pool
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XNC] XenCoin | Instant Transactions | Stable | Long term Support | Usable on: June 20, 2013, 01:03:29 AM
You know what's bad?  If we were judging coins by logos alone, this would seriously be a major contender...

Agreed. Logo is one of the best ones Ive seen since BTC

What a fucking joke, 5% premined, and a 2000 block reward?
Drink it.
