I suppose I'd expect them not to refund bitcoins when they have a different value than at the time when they were paid. However, I'm kind of surprised that they won't give a refund of the cash value the bitcoins had when you paid.
If your spot in line is over 6 weeks ago, I'll be glad to take it off your hands for the fair value of the refund, 599 x 5 + 33 = $3,028. If we can't switch the address on the order to mine, I'll pay for your additional shipping cost.
If you were simply wanting the refund because BTC went up in value, I apologize for butting in on your thread.

giga, if you end up replacing the PSU in the one that is down, please let us know which brand/model it uses...Very curious. Also, have you had an opportunity to take measurements of the mini-rig's dimensions?
Thanks

What are the HxWxD measurements on one of them?

I want an SC single NOW.
I want an SC mini-rig NOW.

Ordered 1 more on 6/18/12

I'll refund your money for your place in line, Hashking.
I would ask for a premium if I decided to do it this way. You might be able to get a premium if you ordered mid-March.

What is the current lead time on this?
BFL, can you answer honestly?
12-15 weeks. If the second batch, which my two mini rigs are in, ships by the end of this month, they'll have met that timeframe. Last week, Sonny told me they're about two weeks behind on the first batch, but on schedule for the second batch. Regarding current lead times, there was a post by someone at BFL in the last week or two that said most likely the shorter end of 12-15 weeks.

Similar deals go for 20-30% off not 10%.
Ah...After browsing around, I see that now. Thank you for pointing it out. I'll need to reconsider whether I want to bring my deal in line with that or just use the gift cards myself.

What I'd like to know is how this is going to interact with the host unit. Since it's "BitForce V 2.0" it seems like it would just work with cgminer, et al. just like the Singles. Does anybody know for sure? I haven't seen BFL make a statement on this as such. Maybe they could (wink wink)? Also, would it be a problem if it was reported to this host as one huge device doing 25,000 mhash? These are things I would wonder about if I were to drop 15.5k on dedicated mining hardware.
These are valid questions, but with them showing the Raspberry Pi inside I was thinking it was its own host unit. My understanding was that the Raspberry Pi was optional - that it had the mounting area for it but that it didn't ship with the unit. That's correct. Sonny told me yesterday that you can either run the mini-rig with a Raspberry Pi or via USB to a host PC.

No bites yet. It may be that people just don't want what I'm offering, but it may also be lack of trust. Is there anybody here with good rep who wouldn't mind holding BTC until I deliver?
Also, I added a list that has been filtered down to good value items. I believe that anything other than the items on the list that are available for Amex reward points are not worth it, such as a $25 OpenTable gift card for 3,200 points.
A $25 gift card from the list I added would only cost 2,500 points.

I think you're going to end up with a very warm mini-fridge and a burnt out motor.
And a jacked up electric bill. And an even WARMER garage. And condensation-killed Singles. And warts on his...actually, never mind. Lets just leave the poor dude alone... All the responses made me laugh. However, I agree. A mini fridge may be good at cooling food/beverages and keeping them cool, but it's not designed to cool items that continuously produce heat. I'd even be slightly nervous about putting the Single in a large chest-style freezer, although that might actually pan out...Never tried such a thing.

I have a question. Suppose the network hashing speed climbed to something like 120 TH/s and ASIC miners made up 90% of it. Would an algo change by the Bitcoin developers be subject to acceptance by more than 50% of the network before it could take place?
No. 5% of the network could accept it and continue on. They'd just be on a different blockchain than everyone else. Why would you want to change the algo just because ASICs came into play though? Doing so would be admitting that Bitcoin logic is faulty, that it can never grow large enough to warrant support from investment into ASIC mining, and would ultimately destroy confidence in Bitcoin itself. Reading through posts in this thread, it occurred to me that I didn't know the answer, so curiosity led me to ask. Personally, I would be very disappointed if the algo was changed.

Reduced price 10%. At $5 per BTC, I'm selling each of these $50 eGift cards for the equivalent of $45.

To above post, i understand you, I used to be self-employed earning $2k per week building and selling all types of PCs. But the economy is completely different to what it was 4 years ago. I was just saying regarding gigavps post that reinvesting money that you made off mining into more mining equipment is much much easier then investing money that you earned from active jobs (I see mining as a passive job)
Why save up from your job for it? The rig box (2 mini rigs) I ordered in March is 100% funded by a loan. It's a risk either way, but I figure that I'll get it faster this way. If I can afford to save up for it, I can afford to make loan payments if BTC goes south. I so would have done this as well if I had the cash flow to support paying off a $50,000 loan if something went wrong. Well, and if I could find a bank willing to lend me that much...! How did you manage to do that, anyway? I got a $32,000 loan through http://www.lendingclub.com. It's kind of high interest (17% ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) ) and they take 5% up front, but I'll work on refinancing it at lower interest if things don't work out like I planned.

Has anyone received any progress updates from bfl on their mini-rig development?
Three weeks ago, Sonny told me that they haven't hit any snags for my March order that's due to ship end of June. I'd like to hear from fefox or gigavps, though. I believe their orders are due to ship in the next week or two.
