261  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] Prepaid Mastercard/Visa on: February 17, 2017, 02:06:40 PM
I'd like to buy a prepaid mastercard or visa, I'd prefer if it was a vanilla prepaid card but any type of prepaid card will do. Send me a PM if you have one to sell.
why not register one? There are some card providers who don't require much personal information, like unichange.me. You could try their service.

Unichange.me looks like a nice service and all but what if I wanted to get something for under $20 and use it in the United States, without any issues in the least. I'd like it to pretty much be like getting one of those vanilla  Visa cards for like $10 from Walmart or a convenience store.

Anyway, thanks for the site I never heard of it and It'd be a good cashout method for me and others!
262  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is no longer a currency on: February 17, 2017, 01:21:28 PM
Too risky of an investment to be named the ultimate tech stock or whatever those reporters tried to sell along the line about bitcoin. Bitcoin is and will remain a currency for this community and some smart business out of this community that would like to capitalize on a growing market.

Though, I guess more and more people are going to be just buying and selling bitcoin on a daily basis to see if they're able to make money with it. It's tough for us in the community to thing of abusing bitcoin like that, but that's what is going to happen and we have to accept it I suppose.

Most users don't treat it as a currency and never have. Only an honourable few use it as perhaps the original intention. It may well start being used as a currency once it's reached saturation. Something has to be store of value first before the currency aspect kicks in for most.

The very nature of its design discourages a high velocity. Deflation and spending don't go together especially if people believe it's going to keep on rising. I spend it occasionally but if I have crappy fiat to hand then that's going first.

Yeah, only some people in this community FULLY use bitcoin as a currency but most are just holding it which would steer towards more of an investment,.

263  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HaoBTC? on: February 17, 2017, 11:49:22 AM
It's a very low amount of interest, but they are legit. You can see their ANN thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1023187.760

I personally have not used their wallet (I prefer having my own private keys), but many have in that thread and they are quite popular in China. Their withdraw fees seem to be kinda high though.

Read somewhere that the annual was about 8 percent or something along those lines, could you shine some light on what the interest rate is annual with them? I couldn't find any of that with them.

Is closing their exchange services going to effect this in anyway also?
264  Economy / Service Discussion / Proton Mail vs Gmail? on: February 17, 2017, 06:00:04 AM
I've been a long time user of Gmail and I've really loved using it for all this time, Google is one of those companies that is linked into to most things and can usually be used to sign into a majority of sites on the internet. Though, with recent revelations of the amount of data companies are really tracking about me and everyone else in the world which is sold down the line to marketers and so on I was looking for a better email service as they pretty much have my entire life on their.

I've seen many people saying ProtonMail is safe, secure and the way to go but I've never really used it and wouldn't really want to try without hearing input from some users, would love some people to let me know how it goes.
265  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When do I need to change my bitcoin addressand why? on: February 17, 2017, 04:31:07 AM
If you'd like to be anonymous and not have someone tracking your every move when it comes to buying things with bitcoin, you should just go ahead and change you're sending and receive address for every transaction that you make. For most wallets, it's really not a hassle to go ahead and just generate a new address as all I have to do is click "Generate a new receive address" on bitgo.

For higher safety you can use different wallets, a offline wallet where you store your BTC on long term
and a online wallet or a wallet on your mobile phone where you can pay your daily expenses from.

This could work if you are scared about security, but I trust using 2FA and BitGo enough to be able to just get all my address' from them as it works perfectly fine. They have a mobile wallet too on Android and IOS
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I dream of a day BTC will be boring! [POLL] on: February 17, 2017, 03:10:10 AM
Welp, you've been drinking a bit too much buddy. What no-one really seems to understand on this forum in general is that if Bitcoin skyrockets it's just not going to ber massively adopted, so you probably have two choices. Let Bitcoin stay around the price it is at right now (1000ish range) and let it be adopted more and more by business that see the potential reward. OR most peoples reality on the forum which is to let Bitcoin price skyrocket and for people to still think bitcoin is an insanely risky thing to buy which leads them to never buy it.

Pick your poison, I guess.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep your bitcoins? on: February 17, 2017, 02:20:42 AM
I wouldn't fully trust putting all of the bitcoins I own into Paxful as that's not the most secure place to leave them in anyway. I personally like the online wallet called BitGo probably because you have control over your private key, 2FA is nice on it, and you can generate as many address to receive as you want and all the old ones work.

BitGo is typically used by the bigger Bitcoin companies in order for them to store their hotwallet coins / customers coins. I would say it's the best option if you're looking for web wallet.

If you don't need to move the coins for a good amount of time you could use a paper wallet which is pretty simple to make.
268  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How can I spot Ponzi schemes? on: February 17, 2017, 02:08:36 AM
Pretty good number of things that you can see about a company that more or less help to confirm that they're a ponzi scheme and aren't really making any money.
1) Promises to pay a really high interest rate that are used to lure you into the scheme.
2) Very vague details about the company itself and the people inside of it. Most companies like to show what they're doing as a way to make people feel better and to show off their executives, Ponzi's typically don't.
3) Referral programs with a high reward for getting new people into the investment itself.

These are not all of the things that will confirm if something is a Ponzi but it sure as hell will probably weed out around 80 percent of them.
269  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone use GDAX and want to share their experience? on: February 17, 2017, 01:31:24 AM
Iam never use GDAX exchanger from coinbase
because my country not support register in GDAX coinbase exchanger, i think is not good service if bitcoin exchanger can't accepted member all in the world

Yeah this is really going to help me buddy, I really am not one to underatand how you telling me the service doesn't work is going to help when the title actually says "Anyone use GDAX and want to share their experience"

The service has been working fine for me, you calling it bad just based on the fact they haven't approved your country is a personal problem. I'd like to know how using it actually is.
270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Value of Bitcoin domains pertaining to Bitcoin Taxes on: February 17, 2017, 12:37:54 AM
I would suppose that the increase in price of bitcoin, more adoption occurring, and more countries looking into ways to tax bitcoin for their own gain it could prove to make your domain more valuable. Though It seems as if we're speaking in very general terms so I really wouldn't know if its worth that much as you're domain could be a pretty shitty one.

Use one of those sites that you're able to estimate the value of the site then come here for people to confirm it if you're willing to share the domain of the site.
271  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What about http://getyourfaucet.blogspot.com ? on: February 17, 2017, 12:18:08 AM
Gosh anyone that uses a free thing such as .blogspot.com is probably legit but just avoid them due to them not investing even a couple bucks into buying a domain. The faucet / micro-earnings sites are already over-saturated and you could easily find a much more exciting site that you know is reputable and pays out.

I guess this thread belongs to micro earnings as what you are mentioning the above sites are all about faucets. You can move this thread OP by clicking the 'move topic' in lower left part of the thread, and move to Service Announcements > Micro Earnings. Or some mods can move this.

Regards.

If the mods feel as if it should be moved, they'll move it so you don't have to worry about OP here.
272  Economy / Service Discussion / HaoBTC? on: February 16, 2017, 10:38:05 PM
I was reading through this forum and found HaoBtc as a wallet provider that actually pays interest on the amount of money that you leave inside their wallets, could anyone confirm that that is still true and they actually pay out?

Wouldn't  want to go ahead and take my bitcoin from the safe and secure BitGo to the unknown just to make a few bucks as it sits. Plus it's a Chinese wallet and I don't know much about those at all
273  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Cheap Windows VPS For 1 Year $20 - High Performance on: February 16, 2017, 09:49:02 PM
Would you be able to provide some speed tests from the VPS? As it does seem that the price is a little in the "too good to be true" range for my liking.

Also, would you be able to offer a vouch to a higher ranked member of this forum for around a couple days so they can test it out and review it?
274  Economy / Economics / Re: crypto is the future, make money of it on: February 16, 2017, 03:08:43 PM
You're entire claim seems a bit like everyone else on the forum here who thinks bitcoin is going to sky rocket to some insane price and everyone is going to be using it and wanting it. As much as I'd love to believe it, it's just not going to happen I really hope that the bitcoin price levels out at the moment or maybe in the $1000-$1100 range so people won't think of it as insanely risky.

No one is going to adopt it unless transaction fees are cheaper and the price is stable, so that has to be addressed ASAP for people in the bitcoin community.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stick to bitcoin on: February 16, 2017, 02:36:14 PM
Many topics relating to people creating shit-coins and others asking about it that it may become some crazy coin and take over bitcoin or something along the same lines, that's all just full of shit and none of that is going to happen. The Devs of these coins just falsify marketing things in order to generate hype for their coin in order to make a hefty profit when they sell.

I don't know about this individual coin, but I know it's going to be just like the others. Nothing in the crypto coins is going to overtake Bitcoin, just know that buddy.
276  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet.io and bitcasino.io criminal syndicate on: February 16, 2017, 01:41:31 PM
Been betting on Sportsbet.io and haven't had a problem with them in the least, the only thing that I've really noted at this point is that their support is pretty good when I needed some help relating to not knowing what one thing meant with a bet.

After a little research, I suspect OP is using this forum as a way to blackmail casino into paying him.  (He's posting it all over the place.)

This isn't the first time he's opened scam accusation against them, only to delete it and post nice things about them a few days later.

OP just post facts.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1727147.msg17283643#msg17283643

Hey

I posted something earlier about sportsbet,io.

I have been a long term member of both sportsbet.io and bitcasino.

I have bet more btc then most people have seen millions of mbtc worth of bets lol.

I was upset with some things they where doing but i talked to someone and they helped answer some of my quesions and i feel better about it.

I felt it was important to post here and withdrawl my other post.

Because even after more then a year i use to bet bitcasnio when they had sports betting now sportsbet.io

they have taken care of me and theres a reason i have been a vip for a year there one of the best casinos out there and there vip staff is very helpful and will actually try to help you.

Like any sportsbook they have room for approvement they always help out and are always solving problems

Attempting to publicly blackmail casinos isn't new, people do it all the time in order to get people to support their cause and kind of force the betting site to pay them. Scummy, but it works for some people if the company just doesn't want to deal with the fake but still bad reputation.
277  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best bitcoin wallet to stake an address with on: February 16, 2017, 02:55:53 AM
At the moment I'm a user of BitGo, which doesn't allow me to sign and verify with my address' so I wanted to know if anyone could make a recommendation on the best wallet to do this with so I can stake an address on this account in case anything was to happen to it.

Thanks!
Hey! Our helpful community member shorena has made a full tutorial on signing and verifying messages on all wallets that it is possible to do so with. You can see the tutorial and pick the best looking wallet for you here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0

Didn't even know this existed in the least, dam did Shorena put some effort into making this entire thing. I'll be using this to find out the wallet as well, but I'll probably be leaning towards Electrum even beforehand as I already have it downloaded.

Thanks a ton all, that's all I need!
278  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: February 16, 2017, 01:49:10 AM
Going to be better to invest it simply because at the bank or as your money sits anywhere beside investing you're money is actually losing worth due to the inflation rate, which the government says is around 2 percent. So, you're going to be losing 2 percent of whatever you have in the bank PER YEAR if you decide to not invest.

Attempt to invest and make around 5-8 percent in stocks and a mixture of safer bonds, that's a usual amount that someone could make in the stock market per year.

This will never be an easy choise since at crypto world all can happen, you can invest and loose part of your coins as you can invest and make a huge ammount of bitcoin as profit, while saving will be based into the value of the coin being bitcoin or another.

OP is really just talking about money in general, you could easily see that when he says SAVE MONEY OR INVEST IT.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: February 16, 2017, 01:14:37 AM
Probably not going to based on the pure fact that paypal is the easiest payment option to use for many services such as EBay which alone probably helped to build the vast empire that PayPal has today.

I will share with you some PayPal statistics:

- Total amount of PayPal payments made everyday $315.3 million
- Number of internet sites that use PayPal 341,497
- Number of active PayPal accounts 106 million
- Total percentage of e-commerce that is processed by PayPal 18%

I don't think that direct comparison between Bitcoin and PayPal are necessary, but these numbers illustrate how far behind bitcoin is.

More stats: http://www.statisticbrain.com/paypal-statistics/

The stats right here shows how far bitcoin is behind and I personally don't think they're going to be able to pull forward through it. When you think about it, when we started using services like PayPal it was because it was easy, safe, and we kind of had to at the time. People are already using it and it works fine for their needs even with the high fees that come with it.
280  Economy / Economics / Re: Paypal CEO admitted war against cash on: February 16, 2017, 12:41:08 AM
Taken out of context a good amount as he was referring to how digital currencies such as bitcoin, venmo, and paypal are going to be helping people that can't handle most activities such as cashing a check, sending money and other things in a short and inexpensive time-frame. Still, I think this is pretty big news that someone of his caliber in the financial sector would say something like that.
Quote
"If you can do it all digital, you can do it much less expensively, and you don't have to wait three days to get that money."
-Dan Schulman, president and CEO of PayPal

Little do the people that use paypal know the amount of fees and stuff they're going to be incurring while using the service while selling goods, or even the simple things he listed above. Hope people that use PayPal for the ease see bitcoin and attempt to do the move over.
