261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY.IO - DICUSSION THREAD on: January 18, 2018, 07:45:41 AM
Can you elaborate more on the community site that will be released on the 22th?

There will be rewards and stuff ya, 8k LBC.

But what else will be on the site, will content be put on there thats on the lbc blockchain? Will it be like spee.ch?

Hello. I am the creator of https://LBRY.Community

We will give a better presentation of LBRY with nicer design, and engage the community a lot more.

We also aim to attract third party developers to build applications using the LBRY protocol.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next 100x-1000x coin? on: January 18, 2018, 07:43:00 AM
LBRY (LBC) has some very good updates coming this year. https://LBRY.Community
I recommend finding at least 5 coins. Max 20.
And just spread your values between them.
... And then play the waiting game. HODL!
and become rich.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 18, 2018, 07:40:36 AM
It seems we are not safe yet... 400 bi total marketcap is a support... hope we hold

Never a worry with XMR. Just fill yer boots with as many as you can. We have been here many times before, and those long term hodlers are so used to these cycles we just ride them, i used to get so stressed and depressed when xmr tanked, now i almost find it amusing that its become so predictable.

made me laugh as well that so many put the btc tank down to the Asian exchange news....seems to work everytime still. Bitcoin is a technical beast, fundamentals seem to be orchestrated perfectly to fit its technical trading. Honeybadger dont give a monkeys.

Yes! When you get more seasoned to this volatile market, you will find more peace in the changes. Just HODL Smiley
Monero (XMR) is the king of privacy coins!

Also along with privacy marketplace Particl (PART)  Grin

And of course, LBRY (LBC) is king of digital content. Not shit like Tron.  Grin
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitconnect is Dead.... :( on: January 18, 2018, 07:35:42 AM
Why the sad face? I'm happy so many people were forced to actually learn something about good crypto fundamentals. Something which BitConnect didn't have.
 Smiley

We should celebrate instead!
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best ICO for January 2018 on: January 18, 2018, 07:33:37 AM
Best ICO is No ICO.

It even rhymes.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: January 18, 2018, 07:32:05 AM
How can something which pretends to be money, have 50% of the funds with the creators?
And they can freeze funds?

XRP smells fishy.
I like financial freedom, which isn't controlled by politics.

Do you like global politics controlled by lobbyists?
Or do you just buy XRP because you think you can make money from it?

After a while, when XRP drops in value for a long time... You will ask yourself this question again.
And then you might have changed your answer, or changed your behaviour.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: January 18, 2018, 07:25:55 AM
I really doubt Gulden has any use case in a world of blockchain. Just another token based on a flimsy concept? That is my impression.
Buy something which actually has utility.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: January 18, 2018, 07:23:30 AM
Twitter is crazy about crypto!
https://twitter.com/LBRYCommunity <--- This is my Twitter page Smiley

Facebook isn't as popular I think.

Maybe because people on Twitter are usually more anonymous, and people don't want to share everything crypto with their friends and family.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It advisable to quit my present job for bitcoin? on: January 18, 2018, 07:20:31 AM
I quit my job, but just because I went early into crypto currencies and I'm able to sustain myself for some years with my current values. This has given me time to start working with LBRY.

I made a community page at https://LBRY.Community and I'm getting many new viewers Smiley

So I can advise doing it, only if you have enough money.
If you don't have enough money, DON'T QUIT YOUR JOB  Grin
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down? on: January 18, 2018, 07:16:16 AM
How would you use your credit card if the internet goes down? Tongue
It doesn't de-legitimate Bitcoin more than it does for FIAT,
Except that fiat has hard CASH.

I would rather have family/friends/food/shelter/defense/transport/isolation and gold if these apocalyptic circumstances happen.  Smiley
271  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold or Sell on: January 18, 2018, 07:10:29 AM
I think the current drop in price was caused by newcomers getting scared by some bearish news, like BitConnect shutting down, Korea making regulations. "Making crypto illegal" ... As they have done many times before.

They will never succeed.
Cryptocurrencies are here to stay.
But just not all of them.

Like BitConnect. Scam!

And the other currencies without product and just lots of smoke and vapour!
The good projects will hold its value, and even gain more.

HODL!  Cool

Hello LBRY community ---

LBRY is available for atomic swap trading on Komodo Platform's decentralized exchange, BarterDEX! Right NOW, peer2peer, on Mainnet with live orderbooks. Anyone can test it out if you'd like. We are taking privacy to new heights by keeping your funds and privkeys in YOUR HANDS! zK-SNARK coin Jumblr in YOUR HANDS! Liquidity of each coin is still building, but BarterDEX can pair your coin with any other of the 80+ coins on the exchange. If a team member, perhaps someone from marketing, would like to test out an atomic swap through our GUI, please send me a DM : ) We have a team availabe for walking leaders of featured coins through the Komodo ecosystem to teach you how your community can benefit from BarterDEX!

This is truly a community project - the keys are now in your hands! YOU can be a marketmaker for your coin, making it available to BarterDEX users around the globe 24/7. YOU can create a SPV electrum server, allowing BarterDEX users to manage and trade your coin without downloading the entire blockchain. We would be happy to assist you with setting these up. It would be nice to have your coin paired with KMD - then we could introduce it to the community as having liquidity in BarterDEX!

Welcome to the BarterDEX decentralized exchange!

Trade freely and safely,
Jay

I thought LBRY had to update their codebase to the newest bitcoin codebase, to be possible to do Atomic swaps with!

278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple a Scam? on: January 02, 2018, 01:06:56 AM
I think Ripple is not necessarily a scam, but after I discovered crypto, I started valuing decentralization and non-regulated currencies. Ripple is something I don't trust, but I should have invested in it, ... but I didn't.... Right now I think it is overvalued anyways...
279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Trading Help! New Here... on: January 02, 2018, 01:03:35 AM
Hey guys, I'm all signed up with binance, coin square, and coin base. I already funded my binance and hold a bit of XRP/TRX....just to get my feet wet.
Can anyone share resources on where I can learn about different coins, coin news, ICO's I can purchase. Swing trades and long term holds? I'm clueless as to where I can find info on this stuff. Any help or a point in the right direction would help....mean time, I'm combing through this site.

Hey kabizzle!
I'll give you some trader/investor advice:
- Have a diverse portfolio. This means you shouldn't just go all-in on one coin. You should buy 5-10 with most of your funds. Then with your leftovers, you can put into 20 other coins.

- Don't spend more than you can afford to lose.
- Usually don't buy on pumps.
- HOLDing is easier for your mental health and can be more effective than day-trading.
- Try not to look at crypto every day. You will go crazy.

My top 4 crypto picks:
LBC (LBRY)
DCR (Decred)
PART (Particl)
FCT (Factom)
280  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Confirmed transaction to Electrum, but not received actually on: January 02, 2018, 12:57:55 AM
Hello, I have sent LTC from Trezor to Electrum, it has 100+ confirmation, sent to correct address - which is now as "used" in electrum, but I did not actually receive the payment, I cant see it. Yet if I check the address in block explorer, those LTCs are there? Anyone know whats wrong?

I think this could be because of the LEGACY and SEGWIT versions of Litecoin... I guess Electrum doesn't support the SEGWIT-version. Or I may be wrong. Contact Trezor and Electrum about this.
