I would love to know the answer to this also,
but I imaging the only true answer is:
"Nobody knows".
263  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies and Bitcoin on: July 16, 2012, 01:57:05 PM
"Newbie" is a very established term for people new to a technology or an online community. It dates back to the early eighties. So it's not something to take offense in.
Scrubs was the first time I ever heard it.

and maybe put the part about tasering your dad in bold.

or at least not in white font
If "sign in blood" sounds a bit too emo,
Try "Accept Rape"

I think the best is to find a way for the registration page to punch future users right in the eyes. Maybe that'll make them read what they just agreed upon before clicking the Submit button...

Maybe changing "Register" to "Sign In Blood" or something, might draw the eye back to the T&Cs.

Well devised propaganda, but still propaganda.
Over here we're sucked in because we allow ourselves to be,
Over there you do not disagree.

Been looking into bitcoin for little over a week had never heard of it before that,
turned on the telly and some randomer is saying "hmm.. so who is Mr. Bitcoin"
It felt like I'd stepped into the twilight zone.

Many forums have the newbie section at the top of the home page.
It would be handy here as we need to go there first.
Maybe add "You must post here first" to the description as well.

274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Websites to Earn Bitcoins II on: July 15, 2012, 12:37:28 PM
At this time I get this "error":
Quote
Sorry, to prevent fraud. Some IPs, including yours have been filtered.
This is a scam, because I get the error after filling the captcha.
Also, there are lots of captchas filled some weeks ago (2 or 3) without getting money for them.

Of course, I fill the captchas one by one, I don't try to fraud the site.

It's important to realise bitcoincaptcha.org don't make any money from solving the captchas,
the funding comes from the adverts and donations,
the captchas are just to prevent bots and also helps the google libraries project.
Maybe the adverts aren't available in your area.

You may not be able to post in other sections but you can still read through them.
Check out the economy section to find a way that best suits you.
Mt. Gox seems the most popular and perhaps the most reliable.

278  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I just bought my first bitcoins!! on: July 14, 2012, 11:30:12 PM
Gratz, I'll be getting some soon too.
The rate seems to be going up fast.
Question is buy right now or hope for a big dip?
279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying Stolen Bitcoins? on: July 14, 2012, 11:27:01 PM
So with real cash the original owner of no right of his/her stolen money if it's been traded?
That would suck.

It might be a real hang up for bc if you were to by some on the go for a purpose,
but then it won't be accepted because it's under suspicion.
280  Other / Beginners & Help / Buying Stolen Bitcoins? on: July 14, 2012, 10:50:18 PM
There's already some big and small cases of bitcoins being stolen.
Just wondering if you could buy coins off an exchage or somewhere else,
but later end up losing them because they belong to someone else?
What do you think?
