Hello, Over the last 9 months or so, I have strived to provide the best possible return on EIEIO possible while still keeping it profitable, but in the last 2 months, I’ve made a series of bad decisions and/or had bad luck which has disrupted my plans. - I had roughly 1500 btc in btcst that I had slowly grown via purchasing btc, tips from escrowing for people, market making and the like. I had personally set it aside to purchase asic hardware. At this point, I consider that lost as a going concern unless more information should develop.
- I had privately discussed with several individuals the possibility of their making an investment towards the end of this year which would effectively wrap up EIEIO.B and make it a 2 or 3 party affair. As it turns out, the btc they had planned on using for that were invested in pirate, which effectively removes that option with them at this time. It is still possible someone else decides to partner with me, but that is to be determined.

Not entirely baseless. Read the article, especially the "Red flags" portion. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and waddles like a duck, it's not a platypus.
Yeah, probably one of these: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FrpAgq.jpg&t=662&c=zxKl7d20f9twtw) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgifsoup.com%2Fview1%2F1801489%2Fduck-season-o.gif&t=662&c=yiWDzTJrOcGt5A)

"walks like a duck" fallacy
![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgifsoup.com%2Fwebroot%2Fanimatedgifs%2F966804_o.gif&t=662&c=S1HSWXfo4_hZtg) I already paid 20 BTC for each entry as described in the bet thread. I'm not quite sure what you're talking about.
![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi.qkme.me%2F3oohzw.jpg&t=662&c=XvaI30vdokuJlw) I look forward to more accusations and butthurt, but it's pretty late here. Let the trolling begin! I have a big day of work tomorrow in various companies that no one even knows I'm involved in apparently. ROFL.

Many witnesses in and out of the towers reported hearing several explosions. A quick google would show that.
Yes, esplosions heard in the twin towers. But your gif was of WTC 7, which collapsed several hours after the twin towers.

Here's a thought. Somebody with bitcoin to sell figured out how to mess with feed data. Put up big wall, people place bids ahead of wall, sell into bids.
Hmm I think that is far less likely than: 1. Someone purposely manipulating the markets or 2. Someone earnestly trying to enter with a large sum at the lowest price possible Its not #2. To my memory, whenever we've seen a wall put up then removed, unless the market moves drastically after removal, it goes back up. An impatient market maker trying to get it moving, I think.

Tell me, why are people so bothered by Bitcoin now?
All the press from the Romney taxes hoax, obviously.

Are you the same guy who was accusing "team ponzi" of not understanding "investment liquidity" and spreading "pirate FUD"?
Congratulations on answering your own question, and in the affirmative to boot. I haven't seen an ad hominem strawman get tackled like that since the 1984 Superbowl! But all that has nothing to do with the fact that Matt's "bet" was obviously a 100% trollish prank and people were saying so all along, only to be ignored by the gambling addicts. OK. So first you defended pirate and now you're defending MNW. ad hominem reasoning is only a fallacy if its irrelevant to the issue. and its only a strawman if i misrepresent your position. I only quoted you to see if I could establish a pattern. Since you provide no reasoning that met's bet was "obviously a 100% trollish prank", there's no logic to argue with.

So many people seem absolutely convinced that MNW has gone over to the Dark Side. However, I saw his "facebook" youtube video, and it reinforces my conviction that he was just doing an epic prank for the betterment of the community. How does some video he made over a year ago any indication to his motivation for starting a pirate "bet"? The only reason this was an epic "prank" instead of a win for him, is that he was dumb enough to side with pirate. MNW knows how to signal when he's trolling and when he's not. Most of the time he's trolling. Occasionally he gets serious, eg when he accepted pre-orders for the magazine. During his bet, he made every attempt to signal that it was a genuine offer. Furthermore, if it was a prank there was nobody but himself to enjoy it (pranks are funny because you can laugh with witnesses who were in on the joke). It only started to seem like a bad joke in the third week after it was clear pirate wasn't going to pay, and he started accepting more bets way beyond the original 10k cap. Even at that point, MNW was very quiet and any signs that it was prank were extremely muted.
