Make sure that your wallet is synched aswell.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, the Religion?! on: June 17, 2015, 02:49:35 PM
Cryptocurrencies is almost an "idealism", with the focus on changing the way money is used and "held" by people, but only because we believe in the potencial of cryptocurrencies it doesn't make it a religion.

At least its a religion without any lies and or half truths.....

Satoshi created Bitcoin, but who is Satoshi?
It's almost the same thing with Jesus.

F*ck Square Enix, no Kingdom Hearts for PC? Angry
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The 20 MB Miner War That Could Destroy Bitcoin on: June 16, 2015, 11:01:35 AM
This discussion is becoming to be boring.
The thing is, a 20MB block is not the best solution to avoid full blocks, but what other option we have NOW?
None. So it's easier to accept it and wait for another proposal to avoid the problem for now.
265  Other / Off-topic / Re: Talk about E3 on: June 16, 2015, 10:52:50 AM
I was pretty happy to see the 5min video about Star Wars Battlefront. The last game that must have over 10 years(Star Wars Battlefront 2) was awesome, it's pretty much playing battlefield but with different planets and all sort of weapons and vehicles.
266  Other / Off-topic / Talk about E3 on: June 15, 2015, 05:02:48 PM
Any expectations?
Liked anything that already got showed?
267  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who is/was the No.1 Scammer on Bitcointalk? on: June 15, 2015, 05:00:03 PM
Pirate@40?
Mt Gox is promising to refund, but some say that they knew that they didn't have the money to withdraw before they broke. To me they count as a scam aswell.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: anyone read this article: The scam called Bitcoin? on: June 15, 2015, 11:51:50 AM
Only because there is no bank Bitcoin became a scam? Only because the price will rise and some people, not everyone, will profit from it?
I'm a enthusiast and want it to worth more but I use it, bought tons of things no matter the price.

Also, the pollution item is such a BS. The banks needs tons of data centers split across the world, those things consumes a lot of electricity aswell.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin vulnerable? on: June 12, 2015, 11:47:12 AM
Receiving 100% of the block rewards for the time of the blackout? Absolutely.
That's somewhat less than 4000 BTC per day of the global blackout.
Not exactly. The difficulty changes only about every 2 weeks, so it will remain at the same level for days after the blackout.
During those days, the people with the "solar computer" will get 100% of the block rewards, but because they are the total hash power working at the same difficulty, it will be much more than 10 minutes between blocks, meaning much less than 4000 BTC per day.
Also good to remeber that the difficulty would not be adjusted at only one difficulty change.
There's a "min and max" possible change when the new difficulty is calculated.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 175 Quadrillion Zimbabwean Dollars Now Equals 0.02164502 BTC on: June 12, 2015, 10:56:48 AM
Zimbabwe might not be able to limit inflation, by adopting fiat currencies such as the United States Dollar and the South African Rand. These currencies are also not protected from inflation. If the Zimbabwean government really want to curb the price inflation in that country, it should legalize some currency which is immune to inflation, such as the Bitcoin.

Inflation is ok, but a hyper inflation?
The country has become shit in economy terms. So USD can help a bit yes, since it's not hyper inflated.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin vulnerable? on: June 12, 2015, 10:51:37 AM
No.

But here is some food for thought.

What if there was a global black out, some how... wouldn't bitcoin be vulnerable to someone with solar powered computer and internet access?- (an engineered global black out just in case you were going to say that there wouldn't be internet access"

With current difficulty?
He would need a ton of PCs and solar panels.
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Gavin resign from developement of Bitcoin? [POLL] on: June 05, 2015, 07:00:12 PM
Hey Morons! 20 MB Gavinshittles does not scale! Offchain transactions do scale all you want! Fire the Gavin already! He's ruining it!

Saying this is more than being idiot. It's like having a mental problem.
"Gavin doesn't like descentralization" they say and their answer is offchain transactions?

Satoshi made Bitcoin with block support way bigger than 20MB, we are just getting ready if the number of transactions increases.
I support 100% the new block max size.

What has changed since he determined that the 1 MB limit was necessary? The Bitcoin network is still pretty vulnerable to spam attacks, and many people running full nodes still couldn't handle consistent 20 MB blocks very well. The situation is basically the same.

Also:
- Satoshi is not God. He would be disappointed at how many people are using his words to end discussion rather than start it. Satoshi didn't create the world's first decentralized money so that we would all be forever bound by his own indomitable will.
- He said that in a short comment 5 years ago. At that time, I believed the same thing he did. But things change and new info becomes available. I wouldn't be surprised if he changed his mind as I did. And he's not around to debate it anyway, so you should more-or-less ignore the few sentences he wrote about this so far in the past.
- His first priority was obviously decentralization, not scaling. "... secured in a way that is physically impossible for others to access, no matter for what reason, no matter how good the excuse, no matter what. It's time we had the same thing for money."

Increasing the block max size doesn't necessary will make all blocks with 20MB. It's just a small step.
On the physical storage side, it's pretty much no difference. It's almost impossible to find a HDD with less than 1TB. It can support the actual network for a few years easily, no doubt.
Well, the only problem would be on the network side, transmiting and relaying a 20MB block would take a few moments. I just hope that even before we ever reach 5MB each block the devs and supporters find a better solution or the "block bloat".

Blocks aren't even full, goofy.
Do you prefer to fix a problem or to avoid it?

Transgender, was born a man, americans dig this stuff so he is getting loads of followers
to bad the doctors couldnt do better with his face, he still looks like a man

You're nothing but hormones, chemicals, tissue, water, gases, and a few organs. There is nothing metaphysical about you, so yea Transgender-ism is as normal as anything else. Thinking you're anything different/"superior" from any other human being of any genetic makeup or identity is foolish, because you're not.

And she looks just like a stereotypical "woman".
How could you say such things? did you even see his face?
where in my post did i say i was "superior" to him?

By you referring to her as "him" and "man", it was and is only rational for me to infer that you think of her as some sort of "freak" or has a "disorder", since you refuse to use the correct pronouns, and that's why I said you are nothing but flesh, and are equal in every way to her. Just because you're ignorant doesn't mean you have to be condescending. It would do you well to know that Gender and Sex are not synonymous, with the latter being a social construct, and the former being biological.  Gender is the term most used in public and thus can be changed at any time(Biological man can identify as a woman, and vice versa). Even the sexual organs can be changed in sex reassignment surgery.

"See his her face"? You made a remark on her face, to which I made a counter-remark that's equally as valid.

He still born as a man. You can't change what you TRULY are.
It doesn't matter to me if you inserted your penis inside yourself to look it like a vagina, you still are a man.

And yeah, his/her face is totally manly, I would never get on that trap.

The thing is, there is no "true" you. Everything, literally everything about your, your personality, your features, your genes, can be changed. There is no "true you". People like believing that there is a "core" personality or foundation in all of us, but there is no such thing. Take antidepressants, your mood changes, take steroids your mood changes, take etc etc your mood changes, get a stroke you might lose the ability to speak, etc etc. Everything around us has an affect on our fluid personality, even social conditions. There is no "core", no "spirit", no "soul".

You have no idea what makes someone a man or what makes someone a woman, and hint it's not the gentilia. Please don't comment on subjects that you're too stupid or ignorant on to actually discuss without making up false statements, thanks.

But most of those things you said are made to change aspects on anyone. We have a body so what?
Of course if you give it something different to it, it will react to it.
What I was trying to say is that there's a lot of things that are different from a man to a woman. And changing your gender and any other physical aspect doesn't change your brain. Tons of shit are unique for every single person in the world, memory, gray and white mass, knowledge, experiences and all the shit that we don't even know what it does, those things makes you a man or a woman. You can't change that. The things you do when you're drunk is unique, similar to other people, but unique. Changing hormones help that? Of course, but the brain is intact.

Maybe a thousand years in the future people understand how the brain fully works and then you can change your DNA and your brain to make that change.

Look, you said you can't change what you "truly are". Gender Identity, which defines how we see ourselves as(male or female, or none or both) is dictated in the brain. Therefore, what you're saying makes no sense. If a biological man sees himself as a women, then he is now she, and vice versa.

Please, read before you type Bullshit to me because it's truly aggravating, and maybe go study neurology.

http://www.medicaldaily.com/brain-mapping-gender-identity-what-makes-boy-girl-247122

https://www.google.com/#q=gender+identity+in+the+brain

Only because I think I'm a unicorn I'm not a unicorn.
DNA(XX and XY) still defines most things, and his brain still work as a male brain. Until today, there's no tech or bio knowledge to change those things.

If you read what I wrote and stop just bitching around because I said that you can't change what the genetics made you when you're born, that would do the discussion much better.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which comes first: Halving or max transactions exceeded? on: June 05, 2015, 01:27:12 PM
With the 20MB per block limit, definetely the block reward halving of course.
That's the idea of why the limit per block is so high: it's a long term "fix".
But with 1MB there's chance to be a block that is fully filled before the halving.

Halving is mid 2016. and we're at mid 2015 with avg block size of over 900KB!

^ These figures are a bit different to what I remember

Halving is estimated to be around 2016 July
Source: http://bitcoinclock.com

Average block size is ranging from 0.35M to 0.45M
Source: https://blockchain.info/charts/avg-block-size?timespan=180days

and there is no need for bad language in discussions  Wink

Average isn't the max.
We can't wait to the Average to be 1MB. Even if the Average was 750KB it would be bad, it would be a signal that some blocks on critical times are being fully filled.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A small community on an island, use Bitcoin or create an Alt? on: June 05, 2015, 12:01:01 PM
Wouldn't be better to make a colored coin?
So, it would be controled by a group of the emission of the colored coin and turists would trade at a 1:X rate compared to what the coin is used on the island.
Of course simply setting a price for a colored isn't the best idea, but a lot of local communities already made their own money system so that they don't use banks, so the idea is the same, but with colored coins.

Good that I choose very strictely what I want to update. (and my version is a professional edition, so even if (Flattened)Windows 10 is good, I don't have to download all the shit they throw on the updater).

A bit of FUD there.
You don't need to be so desperate, anything that can be bought today is enough for a few years.
The only thing you should be aware is the RPM, HDD that are higher than 10k RPM are interesting but more expensive.
