265  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: March 28, 2016, 02:16:43 PM
IMO Bitfury has completely missed the window on their opportunity to capitalize and take market share away from Avalon and Bitmain. These chips will now be insignificant by the time they are available to the public. By now, surely both competitors have had their hands on bitfury chips and have been able to perform r&d to come up with comparable chips. The spikes Antminer has seen in their pools signifies either an upcoming model ready for sale, or a massive test and flush of current inventory to make room for models about to hit live environment testing. I am fairly new to the bitcoin world, but have been in the IT space for 10 years and have seen this firsthand more times than I can count.

He has bounced from Kano to Johnny's pool then to ours with his crap strategy. He is going to be out of pools soon.

I just found this pool, I like discovering these small pools.  I've been pointing one S5 at JohnnyBravo's pool a bit, I'm going to share it's time here, too.  Just one little guy trying to show his support for the other little guys, good luck!

Web page has been really slow to load today, though, not sure what that's all about.

Thought it was a where a couple people had pointed asics at a diff 1 port.  Just polluted the DB.  Turns out That saradis guy had 57+ connections to my port 80.  Fixed that issue and then suddenly everything is snappy again.  Weird.  Shocked
ALL POOL OWNERS

Let this be the final reason to ban Saradis guy always and with out question.

We already banned his account, he created a new username yesterday called "uphellper" and started doing the same thing again. Keep your eyes peeled for any user named saradis or uphellper at around 320TH.

Thanks for your help. It is someone who pointed a high speed miner at our old fixed 1 diff port for pc miners. As a result, a significant amount of storage use for unneccessary lines of code this round. So now, we are getting a bit bogged down until the round is over. Then everything should pick back up.
274  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BCMonster.com Mining Pool / [PPLNS Payout][Pays TxFee] 5th Block found! on: March 23, 2016, 02:23:47 PM
We have had some users with what appear to be using high speed machines on the low difficulty ports, Causing a significant bogging down of the server. We have removed the low diff ports for the time being, and plan to have just the one port 3333 as the vardiff port from 1 to 100,000.

I wondering is it rental really worth it?... I'm having free electricity but cost of the miner are just too high here...
Rental is worth it at the right rates only if you achieve under 100% for the round. With free electricity even if an s7 costs you $1200 right now it would still be worth it versus those of us paying .09 kwh because at that rate an s7 costs roughly $100/month.

After I finish mid-terms, I'll throw 2TH/s your way to start and then 3 more TH/s if the results are better than the pool I'm on. I also need time to read your entire thread.  Smiley
No problem, well be glad to have you here  Smiley

A little update regarding the whole Saradis fiasco. We did receive a response back from him last night. The email itself was very suspicious, and did have some lines specifically that made us come to the conclusion to ban him from our site, and we will reimburse everyone according to their contribution percentage at rounds end.  His response frankly, showed absolutely zero frustration or anger about the possibility of losing BTC this round. Here is his response to the accusations:

"Last night i rent 1phs for your pool from NIcehash and litle later 2Phs, to help your pool growing and you tell me about what Kano? I dont know something about the guys over there and i dont care also. About my account here in your pool is not good, you locked me out, but is your pool so its your desition. My miners find blocks when they must find and no when i want... Any way np, i find other pool to spend my power and make some profits. Good luck with your pool."
