Asia Blockchain Review published on the 20th of November 2019 an article: Vietnam Plans to Build Smart City with Blockchain.

Short summary:

Vietnam plans to build a smart city to deal with several problems in Ho Chi Minh City by using blockchain technology, aiming to provide better public services and urban infrastructure.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the incubator centre Saigon Hi-Tech Park and South Korea’s CBA Ventures to work on the project. (link)

The city will prioritize blockchain and AI-related projects, including a project called “Support a National Innovative Start-up Ecosystem by 2025” aimed at helping tech start-ups.

Dear Bitcoin Saigon members,

It has been five years by now since the very first Bitcoin Saigon meetup in November of 2014 when the "early adopters", Diana, Dominik, and Khoa turned their idea of a local meeting place and group to discuss all matters Bitcoin & related topics into reality.

Thanks to the support of Officience in our early days we found an early home for our first couple of events - at a time when hosting a Bitcoin Event was still considered a "risky undertaking" for most organizations due to the bad reputation, it had in the media and elsewhere in society at the time.

We would like to take the opportunity and thank the team of Officience from our heart to be the forward-thinking ones who took the plunge at a time when nobody else dared to stick their head out on these matters - without you guys we might never have gotten off the ground.

Now it is time to celebrate!

After hundreds of meetups, social gatherings and more (with the special highlight of BlockFin Asia back in 2016 ) and having over the years certainly attracted a 4-digit crowd of different individuals to our events - the 5 Year Party is officially on!

We are having guests coming down from all across Asia - many of them involved since many years into pioneering organizations and firms who helped to build out this ecosystem at a time when... - there was no ecosystem yet.

All of our speakers have been entering Bitcoin in 2014 and earlier - and it is probably the most "Bitcoin OG" line-up Vietnam has been seeing so far!

During the event, we will be wandering through a lot of the fundamentals which make Bitcoin tick & work the way it does... - and also looking forward, where it might be going from here.

If Bitcoin is your cup of tea or if you are genuinely interested in learning more about the undisputed "King of Cryptocurrencies" (and why this is the case) - we hope to be able to welcome you on the 29th of November for our special event in Saigon!

ich hatte dem wasabi team damals nach dem start des ANN threads auch weitere aktivitäten vorgeschlagen, aber nach dem bestmixer shutdown und der einstellung der sig kampagne wollten sie erstmal gras drüber wachsen lassen und keine eigene mixer marketing kampagnen fahren.

da ich einige mitgieder im team bereits kenne, könnte ich nochmal nachfragen ob sich inzwischen was geändert hat.

ich würde aber nicht zu sehr darauf hoffen. sie sind im moment mehr damit beschäftigt ihre von bitcointalk verliehene community award bounty sinnvoll einzusetzen.
marketing kommt da sicher erst später.

any news from your side organicco?

for instance, in vietnam there is no KYC required, but you need a mobile phone and provide your number to receive a code via SMS to proceed or a code to redeem cash.

in europe some BTMs need a phone number as well, but some only give you a printout with a qr code for the receiving address and a time window of 20min to send BTC if you wanna cash out. buying BTC works with QR code scans of your address. i haven't seen any KYC procedures on a BTM yet and wouldn't use one if that would be a requirement.

speaking of vietnam, currently one of the BTM operators is extending their network with +12 new machines.

i think in the development on any chain you can always test first on the testnet with some pre-generated testcoins. i haven't used the ML platform to develop something myself, but there are already clients using it to test and develop new dapps or applications based on the toolkits morpheus labs are providing. i suggest asking those questions in the telegram group. the mods are friendly and may be able to clarify things a bit more for you.
