261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will The Market Cap Of Bitcoin Be Overtaken? If So When? And By Who? on: April 16, 2018, 01:16:01 PM
Will The Market Cap Of Bitcoin Be Overtaken?
Probably bitcoin won't be overtaken in terms of marketcap in the next few years, but it is quite possible for altcoins with a lot of supply to overtake bitcoin once majority of the people who are into crypto starts to seriously consider buying up altcoins too.
If So When?
I can't say the exact date but I think that will be at least 4-5 years from now or never at all(considering adoption rate and btc price always increases over time). It can happen sooner though since this is just a speculation.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins to buy? on: April 16, 2018, 11:52:38 AM
Hey guys, market looks healthier and healthier so I want to buy some altcoins. Can you recommend me some altcoins, which you think are going to reach mars soon?
The safest bet would be to buy altcoins that are stable in a low price for a while and is in the top 100 of coinmarketcap. They might be sleeping giants that might soon wake up and make a bullish move. Particularly, I recommend you OP to stockpile some eth while it is still low. IMO they will reach even greater heights so long as many ICO's are being launched and so long as many erc20 tokens have a use case.
263  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything you need to know about the Bitcoin on: April 16, 2018, 11:01:56 AM
9. What is the rise in the price of bitcoin?
New investors and expectations of other stakeholders, raised this year's price bitcoin by about 11 times. CME Group and other exchanges are planning to offer bitcoin futures contracts that can potentially expand the benefits of bitcoin. The fact that Bitcoin software guarantees its limited supply has given some investors fears about its loss. Coinbase bitcoin traffic has been overloaded two or three times on November 29, 2017, when new users were registered. New hedge funds are opened every week, targeting cryptology. Their number has already exceeded 100. Most of them invest part of their money in bitcoin.
I like your explanations but I think you need to change this. Instead of the title, it should be "why Bitcoin price is volatile". Explanation s should also be revised as well. Do not explain why rise happen but rather, try to elaborate why price goes up and down from time to time for others to understand. You might also want to correct the spelling of "Mayner" it should be "Miner".
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Coinbase and other Wallet services take all of our coins and run away? on: April 16, 2018, 10:08:42 AM
How can we get our money back?
If that happens we couldn't get our money back, and this is the same reason as to why many users suggest to not store big amounts  of bitcoins and any other cryptocurrencies on exchanges  if they will not be converted to fiat or to btc.
whom can we sue?
We can sue exchange owners, staffs or admins case they do that(if their real identities are already revealed).
how can we prove how much coins we had in their wallet?
We can prove how much coins we had in our wallet by using the blockchain technology(specifically block explorers).
265  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MyEtherWallet transactions on: April 16, 2018, 09:30:00 AM
Yeah , now it hit me,   I need some extra eth balance for my future transactions. Does it take a few days before I receive the amount send? Any amount, even a small amount is not a problem, right?  Anyway, thank you for your response, dude.
It should take a day at most. I advise you to check the blockhain records via etherscan.io every now and then and check if there is still a pending send transaction or it hasn't passed through. If there isn't any and the current transaction fails, most likely your balance will not meet the requirements in order to send it at 20 gwei in the next transaction. You can edit it though and make it lower, but it might make transaction slow.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: future of crypto ? on: April 15, 2018, 12:09:07 PM
In future will the banks be able to exchange crypto? Now we are exchanging from traders...but when (if) the popularity of crypto increase a lot then the traders will not be able to exchange such amount of bitcoins...so what about the future of crypto?

It can also be that users by that time won't necessarily convert crypto to fiat currency since in the future crypto might be used to pay in groceries, restaurants and malls like how credit card functions. The only difference is that people pay with their smartphones scanning qr code instead of traditional way of paying over the counter. It might also be used by that time to pay for services even in the real world.
267  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is all it would take for bitcoin to become a worthless cryptocurrency on: April 15, 2018, 11:06:24 AM
This is from an opinionated article, but according to the writer bitcoin’s recent decline could be reason to worry. Some excerpts from the article:

Quote
Given the current state of the technology, bitcoin’s current price of around $7,000 — although still high compared to most of its history — is a relative disappointment. And this disappointment could lead to the demise of bitcoin.

Quote
If the price of bitcoin falls below its cost of mining, it will quickly go to zero. The real concern is that if the price of bitcoin continues to fall, mining will become infeasible, and without enough participants providing the computing power to record the transactions, the transactions will be infeasible and bitcoin will become worthless.

You can read more of it here: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/this-is-all-it-would-take-for-bitcoin-to-become-a-worthless-cryptocurrency-2018-04-12

Not here to spread any negativity or FUD but the author suggests that the current price drop is greater as compared to the ones in the past (is it worse than Mt. Gox?) Also, those early investors who came in during the hype last 2017 aren't likely to invest again after experiencing great losses, and this may make the price go down continuously then eventually go even lower than mining costs. Is it possible to happen?
What the article is saying is not possible to happen. What he said about mining infeasible is not true. It will still be feasible if some miners decided to leave mining bitcoin, then the difficulty will also lessen and will adjust making mining feasible again for other miners left. He is also making a FUD which is obvious to anyone who is involved in the market earlier than 2017 before the bullish trend happens.
268  Economy / Economics / Re: technical or fundamental ? on: April 15, 2018, 10:00:16 AM
BTCbitcoin prices moving due to  technical analysis or fundamental analysis???!!!!!BTC
Neither of the two dictates how bitcoin prices move, it depends on the trader on what to use in analysis but in my case I am more comfortable in using fundamental analysis since it is the one that works for me most of the time. I decide to buy or sell depending on the news and it's credibility but sometimes I try to use TA's. Try to find the analysis which suits your decision making skill in order to make the best out of it.

270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Under The Skin on: April 15, 2018, 07:41:19 AM
Why People Are Using Subdermal Microchip Wallets
He had the procedure done at a body piercing studio, which he recommends to anyone wishing to have the procedure done. The chips are manufactured from glass and measure 2mm x 12mm end to end, the size of a small grain of rice. Wismeijer said the process was less painful than an IV drip injection, and pointed out that the procedure is commonly carried out on household pets with no issues.

What did u think the advantage and disadvatage of  implanting micro chip wallet under our skin body.
IMO this method of storing bitcoin needs further research about it's effects on the human body since it might harm the human body as well which ain't good for a bitcoin holder. I think it is a lot safer to store bitcoins on a ledger nano S wallet or in trezor rather than having your wallet injected under your skin. It might cause a disease or malfunction to the human body in the long run, and I encourage all future researchers to make this a topic of your research paper.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don’t panic! on: April 14, 2018, 11:09:09 PM
I'm tired of listening of these bullish words that instead of prosperity lot of people lose 70% from the latest ultimate dip because  of keep saying relax, don't panic and keep holding because the market will bounce back soon but instead they lose 70% because of listening.
Those who will panic sell will regret it soon though since if it pumps, they missed the possible profit it might bring. If you are tired t hear about it, then feel free to use the ignore button at your convenience to ignore those users that is saying bullish words.
I actually think we're gonna see some sideways action for a while, but I think we're out of the danger zone.
Expect the unexpected to happen. Don't be surprised if we will see another bearish run this year, more than you can imagine when you said sideways action. I expect that we will see a slow rise for a while but I think it is unlikely to happen for now.
272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin’s Hype Vanishes Just Like That: ‘We’re in the Boring Phase’ on: April 13, 2018, 11:06:52 PM
what the author is describing as "hype" is simply a surge of newbies who didn't understand what is what! obviously they are mostly gone since their dreams of becoming rich with bitcoin and even altcoins in less than a week was shattered when they faced the reality.
other than those newbies, everyone else is still pretty much in. nobody went anywhere, they are still trading bitcoin, the whales accumulating, millionaires buying silently (parking their money in bitcoin) and a lot more.

but none of it is the reason to call this a "boring phase" i think yesterday's big rise proved that to be true.
Also, yesterday's rise is what made adoption rate grow. Because of it, crypto space had more users now when compared to the users it got before the market made a bullish move. Even if some newbies quit Bitcoin, there are others left that are still using and hodling btc ATM. Instead of boring phase, shouldn't we all call this a part of "adoption phase"?
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bulls are back !!!!!!!Are you ready guys??? on: April 13, 2018, 09:59:49 PM
Forbes just posted "The bulls are back" meanwhile barclay's bank make an official partnership with coinbase, The first ever partnership of its kind in the UK. Roths child venture firm worth $3 billion have started looking into crypto currency startups.

The bulls may be back in charge now.

Get ready for some serious hype from the billionaires.

Are you ready guys???
I think that is good news for crypto in general. The bulls will surely be back in charge but I am sure that they will battle with the bears first before price skyrocket. I expect a lot of other good news starting today since they might want to create another FOMO hype in order to boost price of altcoins. I hope.they don't lose to bears though, they are heavy dumpers after all.
274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the Bounty manager discussion thread? How can i be a manager? on: April 13, 2018, 11:53:57 AM
Hello Everyone,

I want to manage bounty campaigns. what should I do to do that?
If you want to start managing bounty campaigns, you should first start into learning how to use the searchbox to answer some question of yours, IMO a good campaign manager needs the skill to go around threads in the forum and search for information he/she needs here. You should also start building trust. I am sure that you can be a campaign manager if you worked hard enough since there is someone who managed to be a bounty campaign manager despite being a full member(at the time when i saw him managing campaigns) if I recall it right this is his profile(he is currently a hero member now).

275  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the other assets that can be traded with bitcoin aside from coins? on: April 12, 2018, 11:42:58 AM
Bitcoin is very useful and in demand in trading. But I wonder what other assets can be used in trading for bitcoin aside from cash and other coins?
If we are talking about assets, you can practically trade it into anything via peer to peer here in this forum (in marketplace section), specially to digital goods. You can also buy in game items through Bitcoin( there are some games who accept it directly but for some, you need third party apps.). You can also use Bitcoin to buy Amazon gift cards and other gift cards(using a third party website).
276  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bitcoin be banned on Philippines? on: April 12, 2018, 11:06:30 AM
Philippines is definitely not that anti-bitcoin. There is a ton of good Filipino exchanges out there, and it'll be hard to see they will be shut down by the government any time soon, let alone a total bitcoin ban. Even China has not reached the stage of a total ban yet, so it'll be hard to see this happen in the Philippines, since it is a lot less hostile to bitcoin.

Also, in January, the SEC in Philippines actually said that they had plans to regulate crypto: https://www.coindesk.com/philippines-sec-plans-to-regulate-cryptocurrency-trading-icos/.

It would make no sense for them to ban when they are drawing up plans to regulate, don't you think? There will always be scammers out there in any field, it's not bitcoin's problem that scammers do what they do. Otherwise, fiat should be banned as well(think MMM, Bernie Madoff and the whole bunch of ponzi schemes that has been run with fiat).
In fact, they are already on the move to regate bitcoin transactions in virtual currency exchanges(btc to php exchangers). In a wallet called coins.ph(which I regularly use to convert btc to php), users are already required to submit personal information, IDs and legal documents that proves user's identity(KYC) which they say are required by BSP. 277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thailand Has Accepted Bill In Setting Crypto Currency on: April 12, 2018, 10:29:04 AM
A bill will be drafted by the Government of Thailand and has given its consent to regulate the regulation of cryptocurrency transactions in the region. This information will be disclosed by Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong, through Nikkei Asian Review.

According to Tantivorawong during a cabinet meeting held on March 27, it was proposed that the Thai Revenue Department should collect an additional tax of 7% VAT and 15% ownership tax on cryptocurrency and some collections made by ICO, but this measure would not apply to minority investors .

In addition, it is noted that regulations are being designed to prevent the growing sector of digital currency that will be used for money laundering, tax evasion, and other criminal activities that could affect Thailand's economy and this has been done in many other countries. Just keep waiting for the publication in the Royal Gazette so that the new mechanism can come into force.
Where have you got this bit of information from? I can't search any news like this which has been recently published in a credible source. Also are you talking about the news posted in cryptoglobe and bitcoinist.com? If that is the case, then I wouldn't believe it easily, IMO they aren't credible enough. Nevertheless, it is great if it is not a fake news made to generate FOMO. Below are the links to the news I am talking about.

278  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ledger Hardware Wallet Worth It? on: April 12, 2018, 09:39:00 AM
I am definately not a noob, but do want to enjoy to spoils of ease when it comes to managing my crypto portfolio. My fear with a Ledger is that I do not have direct access to the wallet. Don't know if thats the wording I'm looking for. I have my seed written down. But what if Ledger goes out of business? Then what? I cannot just rebuild my wallet on MEW with my Ledger seed. Excuse my noob-ness regarding how Ledgers work, if this is not the case.
Ledger Nano S only helps you generate seeds using bip 39 word phrase generation and if ever they they decided to close their company, you can still use your ledger nano S as is or import it's seed in a hardware, software or web wallet that supports or uses the same generation method in case you lost it. You just need those 24 words and your passphrase, or the rootkey of your ledger nano wallet written up in a paper in order to access it in case the aforementioned incident happens or if your ledger nano S broke. (I might be wrong since I said this based on my understanding of how ledger nano S works).
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Update April 12 on: April 11, 2018, 09:52:04 PM
How far do we need to rise to break the downtrend?
Bitcoin needs to rise up to 10,500$ level in order to break the downtrend and start another bullish run. I think this level is the one needed to be broken since IMO we will see a wall near this price range that will try to stop btc to go higher. Nevertheless, I think price needs to fall more in order for us to see a healthier market. The deeper the fall, the higher it will rise on the next bullish run(which will happen after the next halving at most).
280  Economy / Economics / Re: Stanford University Business Full-Time Cryptocurrency Course on: April 11, 2018, 12:35:33 PM
I heard it some days before writing on this thread as the by this thread CNBC reports say that Harvard and Stanford and many more other universities and colleges are now studying Bitcoin courses on a large scale because the only thing and reason they are doing so is the high economic stability and to be the top number one rank of the global market.

Bitcoin helps grow the economy of a country by saving the cost of paper manufacturing and printing and cleaning of notes. It boosted up the economy by giving a huge profit after the jump of Bitcoin after some time.
They should also tackle about what blockchain can be used for, IMO they will be closer to being number one by doing so. I think they really need to study also the technical side of crypto in order for their students to be truly job ready deal with the crypto career for real in the future. Without knowledge of the tech, how can they use what they have studied and apply it? They would only end up as blabbermouths if they only learned it's economic aspects like what other economic experts do today.
