I like the .001 but with only one coin funded - its not getting rekt otherwise

Disagree as what you are referring to is totally rekt.  You can still get rekt if a significant portion of your investment is lost.  Even FTX isn't at zero and is still ranked 217 in terms of market cap.  I'm thinking a totally rekt edition would be more appropriate and applicable to a Yogg/Cold Cunt coin.

Yeah 0.001 Funding is the way to go and not totally rekt at all...so gotta agree with 2stout on that.

Would like my coin to have bits on it so I can treat it as a loaded coin and thus it will remain so in my collectables
I like both ideas. 0.001 funding seems collector friendly and still amounts to quite a bit for the rug-pull coin. Also I'd prefer to chop the funds, one winner coin and the rest with a minimal loading amount remaining, gotta agree there with Krogoth and 2stout.

The whole point also is for everyone to peel to see who is the winner and who got rekt
Just because that's the "whole point" for you does not mean it's the whole point for everyone.
Never read "coins must be peeled to determine a winner".

What I do care about is a coin that plays with the scam terminilogy, ideally in different ways (references in design, as well as the loading aspect). However I don't care what everyone does with their coins. Imho you can hodl for 30 years and peel then or peel right away.
Actually I think it's even more fun if everyone decides by themselves. If for example 1/3 of collectors peel and don't find they are the winner, it also becomes more enticing for the remaining to peel. Could be some interesting dynamic.

263  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] TWO COINS on: August 14, 2023, 01:20:26 AM
Okay now! These look amazing, great work! Is this technique also possible with precious metals?
Could imagine it vaporizes too much of the material in the process or some other factors not making clean cuts possible.

Also interested on what's gonna happen with the other coins.
Gosh, the detail and "strength" of these coins is just something new!
I did one on a pure silver coin it started out 31.1 grams after the laser it was 28 grams Sad So silver is not a good idea haha I am gonna try titanium and some other metals next
Haha, I thought something like that would happen. But I mean a 10% loss shouldn't be too bad (not sure about breathing the air, though). Still would love to see some silver.

Oh, just after finishing typing I see Krogoth just pretty much wrote down what I am thinking. : )

Anyway, great work and please continue.

266  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- Titan Mint Bitcoin Coins ***NEW UPDATES*** on: August 13, 2023, 12:03:16 AM
Hi - is there a way to see coin value based on QR at the back? (PK)
= prove that it's "funded" - now that old Titanbts is no more and Titanmint does nothing!
Satpile - that was mentioned above doesn't work on iph ..
would be a shame to peel just to confirm ..
Thx,
A.

Well, ofc you cannot know if the private key correctly corresponds with the public key (QR code on coin) - however there are no known cases of this not being the case.
So you could just scan the QR code and enter the displayed public address into a Bitcoin block explorer, for example: https://blockchair.com/
You would see if there are still "spendable output(s)" available with your balance or if these are swiped. If the explorer cannot find the address it means it was never loaded and thus cannot be found on the blockchain.
All that said, for now I believe there are no known issues with private-key Titan bits.
267  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New Binary eagle on: August 12, 2023, 10:20:21 AM
Just to clarify, and i know weve discussed these coins at nauseam on other threads. None of the bulls were actually swept or hacked. There was only an issue with the way the private keys were created. It involved a lengthier process to sweap not typical of what is normal. There was never a scam im aware of with either the 2014 eagle or bull. Just poor key production. I believe there was also one coin purchased in the secondary market by LC that had the hologram still affixed but no funds on the coin.
Yeah, I see where you are coming from, but I stick to my previous post given the sum of "hick-ups" that occured.
As someone said before, it might just be a rogue employee or whatever that compromised a whole project. Not saying it is indeed compromised, but there are some signs that I will not ignore this time. Maybe just oversensitive.

Here is the original thread regarding the swept 2014 eagle: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5231305.msg54367281#msg54367281

As far as I know these coins are still safe and mine are loaded today.
If I read it correctly that's not what happened, indeed the funds were swiped twice, once before holo peel and once after refunded. (?)

268  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New Binary eagle on: August 12, 2023, 01:14:25 AM
I own a few bulls and one eagle (first edition, not this new rip-off bs one).
And as much as I hate to speak ill on collectibles that I like (optics / quality), everything that's been going on with coins from their mint leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Maybe 8 months ago I would have been more relaxed or just figured it was all explainable by some tiny mistakes / inexperience etc.
But with all that's happened this year (yogg, Titan, Betnomi...), it's another project with a bunch of red-flags - I myself and I believe quite a few fellow collectors here have the tendency to ignore these or try to "rationalize" things until it's too late.

tldr: Will stay away from these, too much fishiness going on, haven't decided what to do with the coins in my possesion, probably hodl and pray for now.
269  Economy / Collectibles / [WTT / in search of] Bluebits 0.005 BTC (blue-colored?) chip 2017 on: August 12, 2023, 01:02:59 AM
I recently was lucky enough to aquire a 0.0025 Bluebits chip (2017).
Now all that's missing to complete a full 4-chip set is the 0.005 bluebits chip.

If you are the owner of one of these and want to sell or trade, please send me a dm.

I would be most happy to make a trade for my 0.0025 (green colored) Bluebits chip  - you missing the green one, me missing the blue one to complete our collection. Would add-on the difference in loading (0.0025 BTC) of course.
If you are interested in a Bitsend 4-chip set instead, also happy to trade this one.

Please dm.

I heard the 0.005 was blue colored but never seen it, so not sure.
270  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] MX12ART, BITCOIN ART, COLLECTIBLE on: August 12, 2023, 12:37:50 AM
While I like the idea of an auction that is timed out when a certain block is reached, it's unfortnatelly quite unpractical. Some auctions might end in the middle of the night or take much longer than expected etc.

That said, cool artworks. Took me a little to probably fully get your comic sequence.
Fight Day has a touch of Bitcoin soft-porn. Haven't seen too much in that regard so far, lol.

So starting bid is just 1 sat? How much is EU shipping and how much for US (to MJ) shipping?

Let's start this off:
Pizza Day 2023 - Nr. 3/10  0.00000255
Fight Day - Nr. 2/10         0.00006969

Oh and one last point, your photos look great but one just fully displaying the card without the need to turn your head 90 degrees to the screen would be cool. Wink

272  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How long to crack 24 word phrase if you know all 24 words out of order? on: August 11, 2023, 04:24:08 PM
That's 2,96^79 combinations, a number 79 digits long!
The number you are looking for there is 2.96*1079, rather than 2.9679.

That number is not quite right, however. It is the same number as 204824 or 2264. However, not all 24 word combinations are valid seed phrases due to the checksum. With the checksum being 8 bits long, it means only one out of every 256 seed phrases on average is valid. This means the total number of valid 24 word seed phrases is 2256, which is 1.16*1077.
Ah yes, rookie mistake, of course it's 2.96 x 10^79. Thanks for the correction!
Your explanation for why it's actually 2^256 is quite clear - however to brute force we would still need to go for the full 2^264 route since we cannot know if a phrase would result in a valid checksum, correct? Or are there any ways to determine in advance which combinations to avoid checking at all?
273  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Artist Sidmor (of Carsmiths Currency) Original Monero bills and original artwork on: August 11, 2023, 04:14:42 PM
Hi again. Tnx for shown interest. I thought I share my most new piece: "Inside Trader". Painted on 2 ONE usd's.
https://imageupload.io/KLv0olpgGzeX3nQ
I love that one. Monero logo and mouse lighting the bill on fire - dope art right here.
If you want you can try hosting an auction for some of your original artworks, I would very well be interested as some others most likely, too.
Shoot me a pm if you some notes with Bitcoin or Monero artwork up for direct sale.

There is also one high-res version of the design.

The concept shows a strong Bitcoin pirate protecting a vault and at the same time mixing coins in front of him.

Funky collection. If I find the time this weekend, would like to compile the submitted images into some sort of summary-graphic, just to show the different types for the four elements next to each other.
Ofc if anyone wants to do this in the meantime, feel free!

Oh and that's an insane giveaway, a Builder.  Shocked
276  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [WARNING] Wallets created with Libbitcoin Explorer (bx) are insecure! on: August 11, 2023, 01:00:49 AM
I am not familiar with this tool, so maybe ththis is a stupid question: Do we know if the Libbitcoin explorer wallet (seed) generation method was utilized by any mobile or desktop wallets?
Or is this just a tool you use similar to a paper-wallet generator and cannot be included as part of code for a wallet project?
277  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How long to crack 24 word phrase if you know all 24 words out of order? on: August 11, 2023, 12:52:52 AM
That's crazy and tbh "intuitively" I wouldn't have thought it's not possible if you have access to some strong (cloud/super) computing system.
What I really like about this question: it goes to show how INSANELY ASTRONOMICALLY impossible it is, to brute force a 24 word seedphrase if no word is known. If I am not mistaken, we have a wordlist of 2048 words? - That's 2,96^79 combinations, a number 79 digits long!
(nothing new, I know, but still, was fun to remember this)
278  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New Binary eagle on: August 11, 2023, 12:04:12 AM
These guys frusterate me sooo much. What a missed opportunity. Dope designs and great coins but continually miss the point of physical bitcoin. Im so tired of exchanging emails with them. Just want to capitalize on the popularity of physical but not make it worth anybody's time. I mean really. Why even load 30 cents
Exactly that. Design and quality / finish are great. I also very much like to see 2oz of silver.
As everybody seems to agree, the 1000 sats funding is a joke. Sure it proves the point, it's now a crypto collectible, but this is not a 0.5g coin, it's over 60gs - I want a value that at least reflects the precious metal value.
And yes 200€ for a practically unfunded coin is just too much - that very nice looking box doesn't change that fact.

Another week another chance for a custom Ballet wallet!

Thanks again, Krogoth. Appreciate your generous contribution to the collectible community.
And btw - your recommendation is to load these cards with their face amount?

since today the new wallet version 0.99.98h is available for download in the google play store as well as on the official samoruai website[3]
the new version contains the following features and for more information you can visit the following links[1][2]
  • Improved JoinBot UX
  • Verify Message
  • UTXO management improvements
  • Sweep JoinMarket time-locked fidelity bonds
  • Lots of bugfixes

[2]https://docs.samourai.io/en/wallet/releases?ref=blog.samourai.is#v09998h
[3]https://samouraiwallet.com/download/wallet
Thanks for the info. This thread was just resurrected from the dead - but I feel it makes more sense to post this here than a new thread.

Is this an automatic update or do you need to re-install and then restore your seed from a previous download?
Haven't used Samurai in a while but it always seemed like decent wallet with some nice features - user interface isn't the prettiest but function over form obviously.
