261  Economy / Economics / Re: Debt Crisis was Created by Politicians and Central Bankers - Godfrey Bloom MEP on: May 03, 2018, 08:37:07 AM
government was planed as a guard of freedom and wealth, not as a economy driver, healthcare or education provider. One day, they will come after our bitcoins...
Governments are there in the first place not as a guard of wealth, but as a guard of order and human rights(which is it's intended purpose). Although that is the case, government nowadays exist as a guard of freedom and wealth, like what you said. They are the economy drivers though, since they are the ones with the authority to lead the country to growth and development.
262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin in for another low? on: May 03, 2018, 07:47:42 AM
It seems to me that institutional investors who are invested in both stocks and crypto will move some crypto out (sell) to help offset their losses from stocks. That's what could drive the price down by a bit.

What are your thoughts?
I think no one needs to dread the month of May. Selling right now is only a good idea when you will gain profit out of it, if not just hold and get some fiat ready. In case it dumps, it is a good opportunity to buy up some cryptos. Nevertheless, I think market would not be driven down. Instead, I think that might drive price up considering some stock investors will look for other trades to profit from, and crypto is one option.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more secure platform in the future, Bitcoin or Ethereum? on: May 02, 2018, 12:44:03 PM
Keep in mind that Ethereum starts 3 years ago while Bitcoin starts 9 years ago. Also consider the fact that Ethereum can handle more transaction per second than bitcoin.
You might also want to consider the fact that bitcoin is handling more volumes of transaction than ETH, and thus is the reason why ETH can now handle more transaction per second than bitcoin but I doubt if it will be fast or slow if it begins to have at least 70% of the current transaction volume of bitcoin. Nevertheless, I think both platform will be at par with each other in the future in terms of security.
264  Other / Meta / Re: Off topic has been inactive for 3 months. on: May 02, 2018, 12:10:53 PM
Should the mods just close it since it was pretty pointless anyways? Or should they try to revive it and put it to some other use.
I think offtopic board is still active(look at it now) since the last posts that are made on threads there are still recent. It also isn't pointless at all, every forum in the internet have their own off-topic board, and bitcointalk should not be an exemption to this. There is also no need to revive it since it is still active. If you are referring to the activeness of quality posters in that board, don't expect them to be active there.
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin merchants help to keep our identity private? on: May 02, 2018, 11:30:33 AM
OTOH, If you’re dealing with an exchange to buy btc or sell btc then you have to assume every government agent in the world was given all of that transaction info. Transacting at any exchange in the world eliminates, as you say, “any degree of financial privacy”.
Every transaction is transparent in the blockchain in the first place and in order to keep your anonymity in using bitcoin, then all you need to do is to not disclose your identity to anyone and to not announce that a particular wallet is yours. Have a wallet that only YOU knows that you own it. When sending btc to it, transactions must stem from exchanges in order to maximize anonymity using that particular address.
266  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC is preparing cryptocurrency fraud crackdown... on: May 02, 2018, 10:55:04 AM
Overall that's a really shitty article that appears to have been written by a bot.
There is also the fact that the source of news is not credible. It might be true but not all of the information there is a fact(probably).
SEC is preparing cryptocurrency fraud crackdown
According to foxbusiness.com the Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a massive crackdown on alleged fraud in the cryptocurrency business that could result in dozens...
I think it is still good news since scams would be lessened, and crypto space would be cleansed a little bit from shitcoins that plagues it. I wonder though how will they do that massive crackdown if some scammers are anonymous when they are doing fraudulent activities in crypto space>
267  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need Some Crypto Sense on: May 02, 2018, 09:00:41 AM
New in here. Trying to gather info of crypto knowledge .

Need some help from the seniors
What specifically would you want to learn about crypto? The tech behind it? Trading? Or Bitcoin in general? If you only want to learn about the tech behind Bitcoin, go to development and technical discussion section. If you want to learn about trading, then go to Trading Discussion. If it is Bitcoin in general, go to Bitcoin Discussion, and read some threads in other sections to learn knowledge about crypto.
268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price May.01 on: May 02, 2018, 08:06:26 AM
i would also want to know why OP thinks the volume is weak!
Op thinks that way because of his subjectivity. Like what you stated, volume of btc transaction is big despite of the current bearish trends that have happened(which is stated on chart's data).
I ask what you mean by we have consensus in two weeks?
By saying concensus, he meant that we will see what is the market's general decision(in two weeks). If the trend continues, we will know that most of the users decided to buy some btc and accumulate and vice versa.
269  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What is benefit of using paid API? on: May 01, 2018, 01:51:06 PM
Time saver? How many time saving if use it?
Paid API's can also help you save time(a lot) since you won't need to fix your api everytime it hits it's rate limit. It also tends to be useful in keeping your website up and running 24/7(since it will be able to handle simultaneous requests).
Why they exist?
Paid API's exist of course to aid website owners in handling API requests(refresh and page loading) made by users more efficiently than using free ones.
270  Economy / Economics / Re: TrustChain, powered by IBM, is launched by a group of gold and diamond industry on: May 01, 2018, 12:22:01 PM
IBM and a group of gold and diamond industry companies have announced the creation of “the first cross-industry initiative to use blockchain to trace the provenance of finished pieces of jewelry across the supply chain for increased transparency”, according to a press release.
I think it is a good news for cryptocurrency in general for IBM and that group of gold and diamond industry companies to take interest into creating their own blockchain ran platform since it would as well mean the start of flowing in of institutional money. You should include your sources for your claims though so that others can easily verify the credibility of the news you have given us.
271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3% loss 10% profit -> sell on: May 01, 2018, 11:40:41 AM
If I set a 3% loss on my initial investment as a stop loss and a 10% profit as a stop for selling, will that make me trade too often ?
It would make your trades too often since 3% loss is easy to achieve in crypto. I suggest you set your stop loss to 40% and set your stop for selling as 30% for a better profit(if you wont do day trades). If you will, then your stop for selling is fine, but set your stop loss to 30% for better profits(since most markets doesn't drastically moves down all the time, which will lessen your trades. It will also help you save up on fees).
272  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Prevent your bitcointalk account from hacker- prevention is better then cure. on: May 01, 2018, 11:16:15 AM
Thanks sir, you are right.I will edit my thread.
Also, add staking bitcoin address in this thread. Prevention is not enough, you should also get the cure ready and set up in order to recover your account in case it was hacked. If you will stake your bitcoin address on that thread, remember to stake only btc address that you really own and control via private key(not btc address from exchange and web wallets that doesn't give you access to private keys)to be able to create a signed message when needed.
273  Economy / Speculation / Re: The whole TETHER thing still on the agenda for a BTC collapse on: May 01, 2018, 09:48:03 AM
As long as there is enough trust in Tether, it will hold its value. Even during the peak of its credibility crisis, tether managed to hold its value. Now there is some indication that the reserves might be valid. People will treat tether as if it is interchangeable with the US dollar.
It won't always be that way because tether only represents dollars and euro in crypto world, but they really aren't the fiat currencies everyone trust. For this reason, it will not hold it's value if it started collapsing on a large scale again. That large scale collapse will cause credibility crisis once again on tether. Nevertheless, I don't see how it would also be the cause for another BTC collapse.
274  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTCP ARRIVING on HITBTC on: April 30, 2018, 09:32:43 PM
it is time to buy BTCP? Is it still cheap?
I think it is still a good time to buy BTCP as price is still cheap according to charts. Although that is the case, if you already have some simply hold, do not buy more.  Nevertheless, I expect more from it considering that it is a fork from btc. Like how Bitcoin cash reach hundreds, I expect it to reach 100$ price before it becomes stable in a price range.
275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get started on: April 30, 2018, 12:47:33 PM
As I am getting new in the crypto world how to start to getting success with bitcoin? What business should I have? Please give me some advice thanks.
It depends on the skills you currently have. If you are skilled in programming and any other computer related skills, You can offer your services in services section in marketplace. You can also start up your own exchange in the future if you like(given that you have a huge sum of capital ready). Although that is the case, I advice you to think up of a unique business of your own, pioneers most of the times are the ones who succeed(but not all the time).
276  Other / Meta / Re: plagiarism report DT members needed on: April 30, 2018, 12:08:03 PM
What  about reporting his account in the forum  ?   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1462988
His/her account can be given a red trust by DT Members, but I think he/she will only continue plagiarizing bitcointalk threads in that website. Are there bitcointalk rules that discusses about plagiarism of forum threads outside the forum? If none, then DT members cannot take an action to stop him/her by doing that act. I think the account deserves a ban though, it is still plagiarism after all.
277  Economy / Speculation / Re: is bitcoin out of the bear pocket on: April 30, 2018, 11:34:41 AM
But whales are the ones who are controlling the market
Whales can also be referred to as bears when they dump a lot of their stash, so in a sense I can say that bitcoin is not out of the bear pocket yet and will always not be. So long as they can buy low and sell high, there will always be a supply for bears to dump. I also think that btc is not in the clear yet, we might see another bearish trend soon(I might be wrong though) but there is also a chance that we will see a bullish move again.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why so many Bitcoin users have fear of governments? on: April 30, 2018, 10:54:37 AM
Do such claims have any reasonable ground at all?
Some does have reasonable grounds, and they help the community as well by doing so(specially those who do fundamental analysis) because it will lessen the time spent on looking for news(by speculators).
Is there any hope that Bitcoin users and governments will find the common language and help Bitcoin together to be more accepted in economy, especialy by businesses and to become more "legal" everywhere?
There is a hope for governments and users to be on the same page and help btc together in increasing adoption rate. So long as there are benefits governments can gain by doing so, do not lose hope.
279  Economy / Economics / Re: why the state does not print a lot of money? on: April 30, 2018, 10:30:23 AM
Now the question is that why don't they just print money and distribute it to people. Will that make people rich??
If they do that, then those money will be useless later on because it's value would decrease and the whole country in general will suffer. Like what other stated above, it will inflate the national currency of a country if they did that.
It's not the same with Bitcoin because it has a limit and fiat doesn't.
He is not talking about the total supply, but it's value in general and he just made use of the supply and demand to describe how bitcoin and fiat can increase or decrease in value.
280  Economy / Economics / Re: will the worlds society now be flooded eternaly with icos? on: April 29, 2018, 10:55:44 PM
bad for the people as a whole like bitcoin?
Are you saying here that bitcoin is bad for the people? I think not since it grants them full control over their money(because of decentralization).
will we now since banks are losing their cartells, end up with a society that is constantly beeing flooded by cryptocurrencies?
Society will not get flooded by cryptos, since most are destined to be used only as an alternative means to pay. Banks won't lose their cartels either and people will still continue to use their services in the future, even if there is a decentralized way to store money.
