2601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 10MHASH CCminer modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernals by SP. on: May 04, 2015, 01:08:52 AM
Ok...so plz allow me to say that I haven't been keeping up with this thread lately. Wow...fast changes. I'm currently lost. Using a single ASUS GTX750Ti2G-DF series card (/w an i7 CPU). Using ccminer 1.5 release 44 strictly for x11.  I was getting 3.25Mh (roughly) and was happy. Then, I see that 1.6.2 has come out and I can mine any scrypt now. Gave it a quick spin on the x11 and only got 3Mh. I OC using GPUTweak. I don't set any xxx.bat perimeters,  just the algo and pool. Here's where I'm lost. What version of ccMiner should I be using now and are there any suggestions for single card settings I need (should) add to my xxx.bat file. I use xHash and suprnova pools for mining the x11s.

Thank you for replies.

Only for S1?

They just started those projects. Give 'em time.

Sheeeesh..I'm actually blushing. Is a 4-some possible? Is bithoe a word? Got a ring to it, huh?
2604  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S3+ (BM1382) Overclocking with voltage setting on: April 30, 2015, 12:02:27 AM
Ummm...Ok, I did say I was gonna shut up...but, can't help this one. I've done nothing but clean updates when flashing, and have the latest, Jan. 2015. I would like to know what version of cgminer are we supposed to be running and if I 'putty' into this (adding dir, etc), can I run the newest version? I know it sounds dumb...but...

Thank You very much.

Happy Mining!!

edit: I ask due to a recent event, with me starting cgminer in shell, and it came up with cgminer 4.7.0.
2605  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S3+ (BM1382) Overclocking with voltage setting on: April 28, 2015, 04:18:03 PM
Mike, I just caught what you meant in a previous post. I had to go back and edit the post saying 'volt 0752'. I meant 0755. I was tired last night when I wrote that, but am going to completely guess that the .005s are possible. Have a good one!

Happy Mining!!
2606  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: April 28, 2015, 01:44:56 PM
My main issue is the number of 'duplicate' shares I keep getting.

I'm currently using cgminer 4.6.1 (simply because I haven't needed to upgrade)
Think about those two statements.

My most humble....ah hell. Surprise...installed latest n greatest...problem gone!!  Sorry ck. I shoulda known.

Happy mining!!
2607  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S3+ (BM1382) Overclocking with voltage setting on: April 28, 2015, 01:19:17 PM
I've got it set that way....but haven't tested it to find out if it really is. Seems to work out. At this point....hell, who knows.   Cheesy   I've got tooo much time on my hands...lol.

Yup...I saw that sheet too. Just tryin' something out. Might have to break out the meter.

edit: I did notice this little ditty from one of the posts to pekatete;

[/quote]
Pete ...!? You talking to me? High fives all over then, and the pleasure is all mine.
I also noticed that the default voltage setting that bitmain ship with is 0725 but there is no mention of any 5 thousandth in the datasheet, so naturally, I tried it on one of my rigs that I had running at 0750 (aka tried 0755) ...... not bad!

[/quote]

That SEEMS to imply that some of the thousands settings MAY be possible. I'm going back to do further research in this thread. Plus, I need to find out just where to touch my leads for testing 'cuz I don't have the faintest.

edit: upon further reading and strained eyes, I find that there is enough in this post to confuse an average man!! Plenty of info that suggests voltage settings in the thousands MAY be possible but not any specific mention pertaining to positive possibilities. Ok, if you understood that, it means, I don't know. Completely rattled. I think I'll stick to saying that .005s (such as 0755) is doable and refrain from any more jibber-jabber.
2608  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: April 28, 2015, 02:35:32 AM
I'm not sure. no141 got me started down this road  Smiley  I'm sure I'm on the wrong thread, but I wanna find out if I can change the asic voltage for OCing the r-Box110gh. I don't know if that piece will let me into the internal programming.  It does use the 2102 interface. Thanks for the link!

Has anyone ever tried it??
2609  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: April 28, 2015, 01:51:55 AM
Howdy,

Dang it...my eyes hurt!!  Somewhere I read about changing the 'queue' size to help with so many discards. Can anybody help? Ideas about a good resize number and the file that needs to be edited?

Thank you ever so much.

When something goes wrong, or so I don't have to log into luci, I just run cgminer in ssh. Once you kill the cgminer that's already running, you can just start it up again in the shell. Once you have it started, that's the cgminer the web interface will monitor and that's what the cron job will take care of if something happens. If I didn't leave a computer on, I'd just run the miner to screen session or just a file my router. That way you can see everything that happens and test things too. While you are looking for the stuff to edit on the miner, test things out simply.

Here's my line for a 250 overclock:

cgminer --bitmain-options 115200:32:8:16:250:0982 -o pool1 -O user:pass -o pool2 -O user:pass -o pool3 -O user:pass --api-listen --api-network --bitmain-checkn2diff --bitmain-hwerror --queue 4096

See the queue at the end? Edit that and test things. As a bonus, if you want to list more pools than 3, just keep adding them in the command-line. You'll want to copy and paste your line.

If and when you are ready, either add a new config item in the /etc/config/cgminer file for queue size, then change the static entry in /etc/init.d/cgminer (along with a config_get) to the variable one. Or just edit the init.d file with the queue size you want. Yep, I leave the easy way last.

I want to thank you for giving me my first lessons in linux. More stuff to do during my daytime retirement hours.  Smiley  I can see where I could really mess some things up. Question; is it possible to get into a piece of usb hardware? I'd like to get into the r-box 110gh to (possibly) change the asic voltage. Just curious. Thanks again.
2610  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2100 TH] CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: April 28, 2015, 01:02:55 AM
kano...I don't run with the big boys but like to think I play well with others. Happy to have found the ckPool!!

Good work being done there. Thanks for the time you & ck put into everything you do.

Happy Mining!
2611  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S3+ (BM1382) Overclocking with voltage setting on: April 27, 2015, 11:51:32 PM
Ok....so I've done about all I can to OC by doing a volt/freq mod. My S3+ happens to love a freq of 250 and volt of 0752. Can't say this holds for everyone but I'm getting ~502Gh. Not too shabby. Still....I want more, so I took a look at cgminers 'queue' size. The default is 4096. After an ssh change to 6144 & 2048 for 6 hrs at each, I was able to squeeze ~4 more Gh out, with the size change to 2048. The 6144 actually gave me poorer preformance.

If someone else would like to try this, please let me know what your results are. I don't make any claims/guarantee. I'm just letting this thread know what worked for me. Anytime I can gain a little speed, it's all good. I push 'till it bleeds...then back off by a hair!  Smiley

Happy mining!

edit: Oppsss, meant volt of 0755.
Error on my part.....late night & very fat fingers.   Grin
2612  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: April 27, 2015, 04:14:32 PM
It's ~6.8%.

Edit: 1 runs 6.7 the other 6.9.

Any ideas how to lower those results?

What is your hashrate on the miner side and then pool side?  If it is within 5%, you are fine and normal.  Also, check your theoretical 24 hour coin mined vs actual 24 hour mined coins - make sure you look at luck as well.

Will do....and thanks!! I MAY have found a solution, as well. vardiff wanted these to run at share diff of 64. I just upped them to 128. From watching, they appear to not have as many duplicates yet seem to be keeping the same hashrate. Will have to run over time and then check all the stats to know for sure.

Thanks again

I thought the duplicate share was an issue with the pool not miner..?

Not really sure, but it happens on every pool I've tried. It's very frustrating.

You can entirely ignore duplicate shares, they mean nothing what so ever. Even -Ck (cgminer's coder) says to ignore them.

Ok....but they show up in your pool stats as rejected/invalid. Doesn't that count against the miner and also mean that it's not operating at peak.

Hi,

I hope I've found the right place. I have 2 of the r-Box 110Ghs. Not sure what else they are called. I'm sure there's a tech name, but I don't know it. First, I love 'em. I didn't have any problems /w setup. But I do have a couple of complaints. On 1 of them (it was a first release from GAW (I think that's where I got it). The blue light quit flashing, but it is mining. The 2nd, I bought used. My main issue is the number of 'duplicate' shares I keep getting. It doesn't seem to affect the hashrate I'm seeing poolside, but it does show as errors. Admittedly, I haven't kept up on these. Is there an issue /w them, an update I need or something. They are still a great little unit, but I'm not happy with the 'dupe' rejects. I'm currently using cgminer 4.6.1 (simply because I haven't needed to upgrade) however, I have tried lower versions, as well. I'm not a BFGMiner fan & have no clue on how to setup a rPi. My computer is on 24/7 anyways for some scrypt miners I have running as well as the GPU for x11.

So is the 'duplicate' share issue common?

Thank you

edit: I know...OCing is not recommended, but is there anything needed to do this besides adjusting the freq? It's a shame this company going down. I love these little guys!!

Thanks kano,

Being new to the pool, I thought it was something I had setup wrong.

Edit: just went thru the entire thread plus a few others. Nothing but good things about you and ck. I must be in the right place!!
2618  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2100 TH] CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: April 26, 2015, 11:34:23 PM
Just want to know, I'm new to mining the ckPool. I have 2 r-Box 110Gh USB & 1 S3+. They keep losing the pool, restarting, etc. Is there a trick to keeping these going uninterrupted? I know I don't have the fastest on the block, yet I want to be supportive, and it's all my budget allows, right now. I hate to have them running, but doing basically nothing. I do have backup pools entered, but it isn't where I want them. I have a good access. Any ideas?

Thanks

Edit: I'm using the 3333 port. Is one of the others a better option or are they setup for the big boys?
2619  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [DIY] - Reward $100 | Antminer S1/S3 Blade on Raspberry Pi on: April 25, 2015, 05:29:45 AM
ok i been reading what you guys been doing here and I was wondering would it be feasible to connect s3 to work on s4 controller board. Dont ream me a new ass hole because i know this sounds out there. I know the parameters are different. I was wondering if the hash-boards could just be connected from s3 to s4 existing connectors by modifying the connectors.

Sounds reasonable, but, if I'm not mistaken, it's a different animal. Even if you rewired, soldered, whatever...the chips don't speak the same language. Call me out, if I'm incorrect, just my humble opinion...I think you would fry the ASIcs (or a simple nothing would occur). Then the story is done. I am curious tho. What WOULD happen? Hmmm...if ya got the money...try it. BTW: wasn't reaming, belittling, etc. Ya just got snippy when we just needed info to help.,
2620  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [DIY] - Reward $100 | Antminer S1/S3 Blade on Raspberry Pi on: April 25, 2015, 05:02:00 AM
I know I've been more than busy for a long time, and it's still the case, but yesterday, I decided to take a break for 1 hour to assemble the S3 upgrade kits I just received.

And I decided to try my good old USB control interface on it.
here is the result with latest CGminer from bitmaintech website:
https://i.imgur.com/ubS6i9z.png?1

Next step will be to check what's needed to make it work on a native S3 or an S5

Since I don't have enough hours in a day at the moment to work on it as fast as I'd like, I'll offer for download the latest files for the 2 port controller in a few days, after I review them and finally solder some of the boards I received from the latest revision.
The design can be easily upgraded to allow BE200 based units interface.
I'll still slowly continue the work on the 8 ports interface, at least for myself.

still interested in one of your 8 ports interface !

I'm using the S3+. What do you need someone to experiment on? Besides the S3+, I have 5 pencil-mod RedFury USB sticks, 3 Gridseed 5chip dual mining, 2 GawFury ( Zeus ) scrypt. I use different versions of CGMiner for each of these. ( and I had 2 SHA256 Cubes, retired[ran hot]) Ran them all maxed. Still have Grids, + Furies (Usb) OCed, + 2 software OCed (Usb) r-Box, 1 OCed S3+. All but the S3+ ,are USB. That's my resume. What are your needs?
