2601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino bonus is it worth it? on: December 21, 2022, 06:19:29 PM
It depends on the kind of bonus, I mean nobody says no to free spins and $$. Deposit bonus or withdrawal bonus are not bad in anyway. Though, going for a casino or switching from one Casino to another because of their welcome bonus doesn't worth it. It kills the focus and you may not win the bonus. Though, playing with your money seems more effective compared to staking bonus as someone already said that he won nothing with his bonus. Some Casino may have programmed their system such that players may no win using bonus, not quite sure. Other than that, emotionally we tend to play games carefully with our money than with bonus points; a player may not feel the pain when losing games with his bonus points.
2602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Two types of predictors in bitcoin market. on: December 21, 2022, 04:15:12 PM
They're those whose responses about bitcoin are always positive and others who were skeptical about bitcoin that are now full-time bitcoiners.

It's clear that such people and responses still exist in recent times, and many users of bitcoin fall prey to the negative predictors. This thread is about two significant people in cryptocurrency; Hal Finney and Michael Saylor who predicted the future of bitcoin, one was positive, the other negative. The false prediction failed and the predictor, Michael Saylor, is now big and deep into bitcoin to an extent of dropping his position as the CEO of Micro strategy to invest completely into bitcoin.

Sometimes, those who have negative thoughts about bitcoin end up becoming full-time bitcoiners in the future and that's a good reason bitcoin users should stay strong in this journey. In the year 2010 Hal Finney's predictions about bitcoin

This is a bullish prediction and if the banks should adopt bitcoin that means they'll be a spike in bitcoin price. Though it looks uncertain, if Michael Saylor after making such a tweet about bitcoin is, today, a big investor of bitcoin then the banks despite the rivalry could change their minds about bitcoin.

As I pointed out in my intro, most people must have changed their minds against bitcoin after reading this tweet. How will they feel to see that Michael Saylor is now for bitcoin? They'll feel disappointed and regret listening to him at first. In summary, stay strong with this journey as those whose perspectives are against bitcoin will definitely, one day, adopt the currency, even the banks.

2603  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: I have to verify my blockchain account? on: December 21, 2022, 02:49:16 PM
I stopped using blockchain.com when they initiated the KYC thing and offered to pay $100 to customers who summits their documents successfully. I tried to submit and my ID was declined, though, however, I felt that they've gotten my information and refused to confirm it just to deny me of the $100 offer. I had to switch to Trust wallet as it was easier to access my assets without having to verify on email the wallet ID needed to login like Blockchain.com, which dulls the impression of constantly checking one's wallet. They're many other wallets that don't require KYC check them out no need for the KYC on Blockchain wallet.
2604  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Consider side effects before implanting NFC chip for LN payments on: December 21, 2022, 02:25:27 PM

And some of the worries are just not possible. i.e. bodily migration. It's just not going to happen.

-Dave

Bodily migration can happen if the chip is implanted so deeply that it comes in contact with a cell, but it's quite certain that the chip will get found. Though, its very risky if it's left Unnoticed for long, which will tighten the process of locating the chip in future.
2605  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Could Binance Collapse? on: December 20, 2022, 11:55:33 PM
Binance could fall, but not yet. I disagree with CZ's warning to the US authorities that if they're prosecuted the whole crypto market will fall. It's quite impossible for everything to fall alongside binance if it collapses anytime. The only effect is the fall in price, yet the market will progress with or without binance. The exchange is too large with many traders across the global, but the truth is anything can happen in cryptocurrency. That's why users must not only diversify their assets, trading with different exchanges is recommended to reduce or minimize high rate of traders utillizing 1 exchange. So that the market won't depend deeply on one exchange like Binance. Which may cause big losses to the market if they get prosecuted or collapses.

2607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few Days To Christmas - How Are You Preparing? on: December 20, 2022, 04:31:03 PM
Bitcoin must be in circulation, nothing can stop people from selling and buying. When they're no cash available we are compelled to settle bill with our coins. Its a festive period and people expect all sorts of Gifts from loved ones. I've started celebrating Christmas with family 7 days ago, shared gifts to my nieces and family. I don't think giving should be limited to a specific period like 25th and 26th. Give as much as you could, generosity yields more fortune when done the right way. OP I think your advise should be focused on; buying bitcoin when we've got extra money after spending so much for Christmas.
2608  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What do you think about trust wallet? on: December 20, 2022, 03:19:43 PM
Trust wallet is only keeping things balanced as it'll be bad to have all open source wallets in the market regarding the cloning or mimicking of wallets which led them to opt-in for closed source. The open source wallets is risky and could get hacked too though as @nonce said that it opens room for more security Unlike closed source. Everybody can check the codes for bugs which tightens the security of the wallet; but these people are unknown to users and it doesn't guarantee security since users depends on developers to check the code. I read on medium that someone downloaded the code of Bread wallet and worked a similar wallet and named it breadwallet and scammed people of their money. This is the faith of open source wallets despite being the best wallets as it's not centralized its open and easy for hackers to test their work. I'd say that Closed source shouldn't be considered completely bad, they're actually protecting their wallets from attackers.
2609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: World cup highest goal scorers update discussion on: December 20, 2022, 02:21:12 PM

But it should be noted that Mbappé is now the top scorer in the World Cup, but despite the tremendous title for the Frenchman, it doesn't mean much, it's a shame, at 23 years old with titles of this caliber is quite a feat, I think many times the Players are very ungrateful with their talent, with their achievements, with their positions, not all the time you can be in first place, I know who wanted the World Cup, but you have set a record in a World Cup and that is worth it, Sometimes you don't understand how far a human being can be capable of being so dissatisfied, one of the things you should take advantage of is that you almost won a World Cup, for the next one you should improve more, because you didn't win for a reason, something went wrong.

Kylian Mbappe 'considering whether to reveal desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain'

Quote
With over half of the season remaining, that would be regarded as a bold move, yet it is claimed that Mbappe wants to ensure that there is genuine interest in his signature ahead of 2023-24.

Mbappe turned down the opportunity to sign for Real Madrid earlier this year and it appears doubtful that Los Blancos will return for the attacker.

Aware of his price-tag, Mbappe is reportedly prepared to accept a wage cut in order to facilitate an exit, a move which may lead to interest from the Premier League.

While Liverpool have been linked with Mbappe in the past, focus appears to be on trying to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham for a fee not too dissimilar to what a move for Mbappe would demand.

Its quite painful to loss in a game like the world cup final, coupled with his hard work to win the cup for his country. However, regarding PSG the young star is no longer comfortable with the sporting rules in the club which he thinks limits his qualities as a player. Considering that he is keen to reduce his salary just to play for another club, that means his thoughts about leaving the club cannot be revoked, he is leaving. Though, it'll be in a way a disrespect to his President who encouraged him to continue playing for PSG. But, that won't hurt so much, he could make France proud wherever he finds himself and that's what matters. Football requires changes and improvements, Mbappe is at the peak of his career and lots of clubs are looking out to hiring him. I hope he finds the right club that will make best use of his existing skills and give him a room to explore and discover more of himself.
2610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slow down if you want to recover your losses on: December 20, 2022, 01:46:24 PM
^

According to your description you are using Martingale strategy, but unfortunately this strategy does not work as you think and when you lose a large sum you will understand it.

Each successive bet has nothing to do with the previous one. If you lose the first bet, you just start the game with a higher bet. If by the will of fate you will have several losses in a row (which is not impossible) then you will lose a large sum just trying to beat your previous losses.

It's impossible to have several losses in a row playing the all red or black numbers. All my years playing roulette game, I've not experienced such a serial loss, but I'd agree with you that its possible if I continued choosing specific numbers in a row. However they is no connection between  a previous win or loss with my next game. I only pointed that it feels bad to win with small stake, a kind of regret why I didn't stake big, which will trigger the urge to stake big. Sometimes it works and its a faster strategy to increase my bank roll.
2611  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Consider side effects before implanting NFC chip for LN payments on: December 20, 2022, 01:27:24 PM
Its quite convenient to carry cards for contact less payments, and effortlessly ideal and kinda safe to have the chips inside our palms. Many swedes have adopted the idea of chip implants for easy access to their daily activities leaving them with no reason to take along with them any cards or documents like e-tickets, library cards etc when required to enter the train, gym, library or their homes. It's actually simpler to swipe one's hand against digital readers and get an action executed.

However these kinds of RFID Chips may not work for LN payments, but they've got same Side effects on the human body when incorrectly implanted.

It could cause infection; constantly removing and implanting chips from/to the body regarding a new update may be harmful to the human body.

Bodily Migration; Chips can move from a specific location where it was implanted to another position in the body.

Cancer according to Wiki

Aside these side effects, NFC chip implant for LN payment is only compatible with static LNURLw which has no security mechanism attached to it, unlike the Boldcard, unfortunately such chips with security mechanisms are not available or compatible for implants.

Quote
Static LNURLw links are not secure and not suitable for large amounts. Firstly, the chip can be read. Secondly, the static URL is communicated to the POS device during a payment. So the link could then be used to make further withdrawals.

Since we can set up the minimum and maximum amount per day, that won't be a problem for people who intend to try this with low budgets to avoid losing out huge amount of Sats.

Moving on, this guide was initiated by a Swiss IT professional called F418 who was interviewed by cointelegraph at the Plan B Lugano Conference. Though he warned that nobody should try this as it's not a medical advice.

ON github he shared the implant setup processes and ways to handle it successfully and recommended DIGIWELL for body implants. DIGIWELL is a platform that directs people to trusted shops for chip implants across the globe

He recommended LNbits for activating LNurlw extension which will then be used to write and read the NFC chip using Android and NFTtools.

First, check if the implant is readable Follow the link for the implant read and write guide.

Is this convenient enough? what do you think?

2612  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hetzner blanket ban continues. Alternatives to host full nodes. on: December 19, 2022, 06:01:43 PM
They are multiple alternatives to hetzner like Digital Ocean and Linode that you can host your nodes, to ensure 24 hours operations. Though, since these cloud hosting companies are centralized, expect changes in future. It's well clear that choices differ and people may prefer to run nodes on cloud computers, but electronic devices like laptops, raspberry Pi etc, works better, and maintains decentralization; removes fear of getting banned. I've used Hetzner (not for running nodes) and indeed they're quick to ban accounts especially when the IP has been blacklisted for some reasons. In addition, taking a KYC to run a bitcoin node is an unbearable hassle.
2613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dogecoin Dead ? on: December 19, 2022, 05:43:15 PM
Investors lost huge amount of money after investing on Doge coin during the 2021 bull run hoping that it'll hit $1 per coin. Now the market is bearish and the coins with lesser price surfer it more. That doesn't mean dogecoin will die, people still watch the price performance and it has made name amongst other memecoins and many investors don't know its a memecoin due to the hype it got last year.  Whenever the market corrects and price starts increasing, investors will choose dogecoin again. I thought Elon will initiate dogecoin as a payment method for twitter blue tick. That would have helped the coin get a use-case.
2614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption and On-boarding of a tailor friend. on: December 19, 2022, 05:19:27 PM
Why do you think Africans are so excited about Bitcoin? Or is what is happening to a few numbers? Because I see many posts here.
I tried a lot to explain cryptocurrency to my friends but most of them didn't pay attention to it or at least thought of it as an investment even though most of them might be interested in buying a useless watch for thousands of dollars.

Overall, it's good to see adoption on that continent.

They're lesser opportunities in Africa a good number of people in the continent spend most of their time on the internet, to kill time. So hearing about internet money and opportunity bitcoin brings everyone gets interested. I've watched youtubers interview college students in America on bitcoin, they rarely know what bitcoin is about and how it works. Not interested. They've got other businesses or industries to worry about. Not like that in Africa, people tend to do what made some else rich or financially stable. However, bitcoin adoption, coming from African is an Idea, but I think the continent needs to diversify on other things as well.
2615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slow down if you want to recover your losses on: December 19, 2022, 05:02:13 PM
What matters is staying on the game and watching your bank roll. Though betting techniques differs, playing roulette game on a low bank roll, I take lesser risks by staking little amounts on high wining possibility slots like all black or red. If that works, unlike you, I always increase my stake to secure more wins. It aches me to win with little stakes as I'll regret why I didn't stake big. So I don't stick to little amounts, however, I fluctuate the amounts from big to small and vice versa. It's all about luck and following your instincts.
2616  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it cool to run Bitcoin full node on Android OS? on: December 19, 2022, 04:30:06 PM

Testing node on an old phone of mine I can't figure out a thing: why the phone is always cold! Shocked

Sounds weird, but it depends on the room temperature and the position of the phone; keeping the phone on hard substance like tables could help regulate the phone temperature. On the other hand, if the phone, with enough memory space, is used to run only bitcoin node the program may not drain the processing power, therefore, maintaining a cool temperature.

They've been some responses that opposes the idea of running a full node on Android OS, but giving it a try, from your responses, better reveals the importance of utilizing a phone for the task.

2618  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can we suffer at some exchange due to some of their services' breach? on: December 17, 2022, 10:13:08 PM
It is bitter that the traditional finance system permeated the cryptocurrency peer 2 peer trading system through centralized exchanges. I'm a victim, they've got my identity cards, who knows the hacking group in possession of my photos. It's quite too risky, to expose millions of customer's KYC to criminals. Their database is not secure and can easily get accessed once the exchange is hacked. I don't see any difference, CEX is 100 percent operating like the banks. We should worry more about CEX than getting rid of the banking system.
2619  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC awareness on: December 17, 2022, 09:51:02 PM

Me myself i have been through hell trying to save money in my fiat currency and instead of the banks to be securing your money instead in my place here the banks actually cut your money and destabilized your whole plan you have for that money.

At first glance, this sentence has a long term saving tone, but the end dulls the impression of hodling in bitcoin. Because the price volatility can as well destabilize your whole plans for a moment, and definitely restored the lost money after the winter. Unlike banks. I'd advise you to stick to saving long term with bitcoin, so that you'll profit more or better go for USDT. Happily, it's a perfect place you've found yourself. Soon all these financial challenges stated on your thread will be out of date, as you read the forum it'll unveil financial solutions; savings, asset management and most of all wisdom. Hence, it's high-time people enjoyed their sweat, and take full custody of their funds. Instead of working for the banks to invest on their businesses, and make profits out of other people's hard earned cash.
2620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day with an ally. on: December 17, 2022, 09:23:32 PM

It was a wonderful session we both had having this lecture. He was very happy because i had to put him through the system and as well showing him my source of income which he himself admit that nobody would do what i did by showing them their other source of income. I just took the risk because i want him to be financially free as a childhood friend. He thanked me a lot for revealing this to him.

This is what i have passion for, bitcoin  promotion and adoption,  on-boarding and leading people to financial freedom. Like the saying goes, "education is power" this is what i like doing so that people would be informed about the happenings and development on blockchain space.

The memory of meeting an old friend improves the joy of our day, discussing business or job opportunities is an Ideal. Introducing your friend into bitcoin today sets up for a better financial discussion in future. Talking about source of income, I don't know the niche in cryptocurrency that earns you money; trading, hodling, development etc. Earning in cryptocurrency differs and it'll be better to study your friend, know his interests, skills and activity then initiate an idea to him on how he can fit into the cryptocurrency market and make money. Showing him your source of income means he'll definitely do your kind of work in the cryptocurrency market, which he may not be a good player like yourself. It'll be better to ask him some questions, through his answers you can conclude on the niche that is better tailored to his skills. For instance; I have a friend who is good at grasping phone numbers easily, he could dial people's numbers offhand, I advised him to go into writing codes and today he's exceptionally good at 4 programming languages. That's the power behind thinking for others, friends sees our potentials more than ourselves. However, keep up the great work.
