2601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 10, 2023, 10:03:44 PM
I am a gambler myself. I have savings, I have investments, and I have my finances sorted out. Never had any problems with me gambling uncontrollably or impulsively. Always know my priorities and what I need to focus on even though I regularly gamble. It all depends on the person's discipline. If a gambler has savings and investments, you can surely depend on him to continue being disciplined and committed to doing what he needs to do and only see gambling as a way to entertain himself.
2602  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 10, 2023, 09:39:40 PM
The only savings I don't touch are my emergency and life savings. The rest, I try and actively invest. I don't think it's good to discourage people from saving anything especially for emergencies. Not everyone has the luxury to always have spare money on the side that they can use for unforeseen circumstances. While savings might be money that is considered 'sleeping' it could still be a life saver when you need it.

Not everyone can save and invest at the same time, and if you're one of those guys, prioritize saving than investing money, then invest more time on your skills to land a higher-paying job then invest & save once you get there.
2603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn from a brother's mistake on: February 10, 2023, 08:45:41 PM
You just don't invest in a lot of different altcoins without researching them. Personally, I'd rather invest in one single, well-researched investment rather than diversify carelessly. What happened to your brother is unfortunate, but also a culmination of his lack of experience in choosing what altcoins to put money on and the seemingly solid fundamentals of the coin he invested on. Well, in investments you are really bound to lose some anyways, and perhaps tell him to charge this one to experience and just do better the next time.
2604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ️ Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 10, 2023, 08:13:04 PM
Navi won the Outsiders match on both maps and made it to the semi-finals where Heroic will play. Trusting them made me nervous as Navi is a team that has been having problems lately due to the lack of starting five, the Outsiders game was really good even though they lost two maps it was very close. It was a day when Navi was on B1t's awesome day, he caught beautiful clutches in the inferno, he was a real Hs master today. It would have been too early for Navi to be eliminated in the quarterfinals, this is such a team.

They are catching up quite well lately, and I guess they are starting to take form although I still won't bet on them if they are against G2. Outsiders showed strong on this matchup although it isn't enough to convert to even a single match win. Nevertheless, Navi is starting to show the world that they are clawing back into that top tier team spot that a lot of people doubted because of their shortcomings as a team on the latter half of 2022. Electronic seems to be stepping up, and also b1t as well. Hopefully they carry the momentum moving forward as I miss betting on this team against the top teams of today.
2605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do casino and sports betting platform owners gamble as much as other people? on: February 10, 2023, 07:40:04 PM
I know a casino owner personally and to tell you the truth, he established his platform because he has lots of friends who are frequent gamblers. He joins them in their gambling ventures before in order to get a hint of what do players want and what can he do in order to get a lot of players in his platform. After collecting intel and funds to establish his own platform, he rarely goes on to gamble. He's in it for the money-making opportunity, and I guess a lot of casino and sports betting platforms are the same. Not saying all, but probably a lot of them has this mindset.
2606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 10, 2023, 06:49:04 PM
I think I haven't tried tbh. Being bored in gambling comes naturally to me, and I don't have to force myself to not play for a long period of time because I myself lose interest in gambling for a number of times now. Also, I don't see any problem in my gambling habits and the money that I spend; it hasn't come to a point yet wherein it interferes with what I need to do. And to be honest, the last time that I bet on something is almost 2 weeks ago in Esports and since then, I haven't bet on anything not even dice. I'm in the clear and I believe that I will stay this way for quite a while.
2607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest casino property... on: February 10, 2023, 04:55:54 PM
$6b is only for the casino property, and just imagine how much they have in their bankroll plus the money that they should have in order to pay for the maintenance and upkeep, operating costs, and salary of all their employees. I just can't fathom how these huge casinos make that much money, but I guess there are still a lot of rich people who don't know what to do with what they have hence they end up in the casino and waste their money there.
2608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 10, 2023, 04:33:01 PM
Fnatic Dota 2 guys just disbanded. Although they're still participating in the last tournament which is the BTS Asia but that's going to be their last participation.

But the organization has already explained that they'll be out for Dota 2 and I think this is a good strategy for them because the team has already been sent to division 2. And by being there, they'll have a lot of time to get back to division 1.

I guess they'll be back if the qualifiers for TI has come.

For their official tweet and announcement, here it is: https://twitter.com/FNATIC/status/1624001046862241793

From a business standpoint, I guess Fnatic just did the correct thing to do. There aren't a lot of sponsors and brand deals in there, and most importantly, if their name isn't really popping in the Dota scene, there's not a lot of interest in their organization at all. If they're also handling other teams under another esport title, freeing up their resources on their Dota roster that is not performing well also helps them survive. Obviously not the only thing that they could have done, but they also need to thrive as an organization.
2609  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone on: February 09, 2023, 09:24:31 PM
I really don't think that the ideology behind this topic is right a s beside, there are a whole of persons who will prefer to use their phones rather than using a desktop for some following reasons
1. Compactability: is one is one feature of using a phone over a desktop and you'll understand the ease of caring your phone compared to using a desktop.

2. Availability: this is another reason why phone is more preferable over desktop as one can easily stake a game at anywhere and at anytime.

3. User interface: if you'll agree with me that, the gambling apps are built with more simplicity than the website.

These are some few reasons why I feel the use of phone is at advantage over the use of desktop.
In today's world where everything is so fast and available at one call , everyone prefers phone over desktop as they are handy and easy accessible.  You can use it and carry it anywhere you want and your whole work and entertainment is on one click so for me phone always .
Desktops are now its less used as convenience of people.

Even though that's the case, the comfort and the UI will still be an issue, especially in desktop you have a much bigger screen and a lot of UI elements can be seen almost immediately. Also, phone browsers sometimes become unresponsive, or they refresh on their own if you accidentally pressed your home button. That's surely a lot of hassle and that's one that most gamblers would really try to avoid. Each has their own pros and cons, so what works for you might not necessarily work with others.
2610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: February 09, 2023, 08:43:58 PM
Trust is a very heavy concept and I wouldn't throw it around for free. Perhaps I can use them to a certain extent, but to fully trust them is dangerous. While they may have already showed proofs that they are in fact capable of matching whatever amount of USDT they put out in the market, I still can't help but think that they can easily pull the plug if they want to and they'll just point their fingers to anyone when the going gets rough. But I guess the best course of action to do when you need to deal with USDT is this: once you have completed your transactions that require USDT, change it to a crypto that you really want to have and put it in your wallet.
2611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 09, 2023, 06:25:56 PM
Your uncle already has you, and I think you are the best resource he has when it comes to crypto gambling since you are already familiar with it. Plus, you can easily 'level' with him in his understanding about crypto and quickly answer whatever question he may have that isn't easily covered in most tutorial videos on how to use cryptocurrencies. He'll easily learn in that way rather than you pushing him into a direction that, we know, isn't really working for the most part since some of their instructions are vague and are sometimes worded badly with too many jargons thrown around.
2612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 05:59:45 PM
I guess most of these can be attributed to one thing: poor decision-making skills. People can always think about gambling but not act on it, but if they have poor decision-making skills, they'd probably be lured in almost everytime and lose everytime. That's what separates a normal.gambler from an impulsive one, and while it may seem to be pretty a pretty thin line, it still matters quite a lot due to how important that single trait is.
2613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected the cryptocurrency market? on: February 06, 2023, 11:56:31 PM
Here in our country, during the pandemic everyone is scrambling to look for available jobs or any way to make money. Back then, it was the heyday of Axie Infinity, and boy was everyone playing that game and made a lot off of it. Afterwards, a lot of people started investing on cryptocurrencies and other alts, and most of them managed to be successful at it. Here, they saw cryptocurrencies as an opportunity during the pandemic, and perhaps it even contributed to a short ride to ATH too, because everyone was hyped in crypto back then.
2614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am stopping for legal reasons. Is it really worth the trouble? on: February 06, 2023, 11:19:06 PM
Better be safe than sorry, and halt crypto payments until the smoke settles. You can still buy bitcoins using your profits that you can set aside, and that wiuldn't make much of a difference at all. At least it puts you in a discreet setup that doesn't endanger you that much as you can still buy and sell bitcoins using Binance or any such trading platform available in your country. I don't think your government would impose a strict monitoring of your online activities to prevent this one from happening, so you should be good.
2615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there gambling games/sports that suits a particular gender the more? on: February 06, 2023, 10:14:35 PM
As others have pointed out I don’t think there’s necessarily any games in which one sex/gender prefers to bet on or is better betting on that another. I think it just all depends on how much someone watches and engages in each specific sport.  I know a lot of girls who are really smart when it comes to male sports, despite the fact that they don’t play them.

But it really makes a difference when you play the sport and not just know a lot about it, but I get you. I also know a few girls back in college that are very keen on NBA games, so much so that they know the H2H records and other specific stats that one wouldn't know off the top of their head without doing a quick Google search. These people do exist, and even if they don't play basketball, they still managed to learn a lot about it and sometimes even bet on it to win.

Is anyone watching IHC vs FaZe? Good back and forth and I think this is the most hyped game of the day. IHC is performing really well against top 10 teams very recently, and they're making FaZe look like not a tier 1 team.
I was able to watch the Inferno map a bit. I can say that I was quite surprised by what IHC did, they pushed well to a point, the score was going to be a draw. Twenty-third rounds later, FaZe left the first map behind with 16-11 wins in a row. The name that made the biggest impact was in IHC, Annihilation beat Broky a few times and contributed to a good team. IHC couldn't do anything on the Ancient map, but they put up a good resistance on the first map.
[/quote]

Ancient is not IHC's map pick anyway, but they did put up a fight in Inferno. Never knew these guys until now and I have to say I'm impressed with Annihilation's AWPing skills. Might not be the best currently but he's fast and slick with it. Some of the rounds, he entry frags with AWP and that's not something that you see everyday. Their rotations and retakes are kinda clunky but if they continue playing at a high level, they can develop these as time goes on.
2617  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon reports its first unprofitable year since 2014 on: February 06, 2023, 09:03:27 PM
Rivian trucks were great when launched, but as soon as it hit the markst a lot of users complained on a lot of things, most especially build quality. Some trucks were recalled, and perhaps that hurt the marketing of Rivian very hard because on the surface, it looks and feels better than Teslas, but the reviews and reactions from actual buyers say otherwise. Also, I never thought AWS usage declined over the years. Here I thought many bsuinesses and organizations will utilize it, but boy I was wrong. Amazon as a company, is profitable because of its stocks, but needless to say there are tons of their subsidiaries and investments that aren't really cut out to absorb the blows of their competitors.
2618  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: February 06, 2023, 08:13:46 PM
Apart from having a wide range of games for the players, there is a side that's missing and thats multiplayer gaming, this days people engage in multiplayer games more than player vs the system, if you can implement players vs players and make profits out of that, it will be insane, many online gambling casinos don't have this, there is nothing more fun and interesting than challenging other players, even if the game is Roulette or slot.

Players vs players games is hard to success, proven by many casino that provide such games in this crypto gambling industry failed to survive. Even a very popular game like Poker with so many popular players is not really working well in this crypto industry. I'm not sure why but it is an undeniable fact that poker in fiat casinos is more popular than in crypto casinos.

Gamblers who are dealing with crypto are into Blackjack more than Poker. I don't really know the reason why, but this is the only PVP game in crypto casinos that has found success somehow. Other types of PVP games in the crypto space, there isn't really that much of a success to begin with, as people playing online would really like to have access to fast and quick games that casino games offer. I don't think multiplayer games are really missed in the online gambling space, but there is an interest in it albeit really, really low.
2619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 06, 2023, 07:55:11 PM
But as an individual, they have to do something when the situation isn't favorable on them and as you've said, has to be self sufficient. I'm seeing those type of carries and that's why I guess many of those good carries are easily being scouted and offered to transfer to another team.

I think what will be the most valuable asset of acquiring ramzes is the discipline and his experiences.

True, his experiences would surely matter to whichever team he will go to. But he really needs to learn the way of the new generation of carries. Watching the likes of Yuragi, Skiter, Yatoro, etc. you'll see that these guys know how to play the farming and fighting game simultaneously. Gone are the days of carries racing to the highest net worth. You just have to be involved in many fights, and that's what I haven't seen in Ramzes when he was a carry back then.

Is anyone watching IHC vs FaZe? Good back and forth and I think this is the most hyped game of the day. IHC is performing really well against top 10 teams very recently, and they're making FaZe look like not a tier 1 team.
2620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 06, 2023, 07:38:19 PM
Actually, the only problem with Kyrie Irving is being toxic and having a big pride.

Anything about basketball, there's no problem with him, especially in terms of adjusting. Kyrie's sudden change of behavior is the only reason why he is becoming a big problem on any team he's in. Never heard of him being a problem because of his usual game performance.

If Kyrie will be able to find his comfort zone, at least, here in the Dallas Mavericks, and will last long until the end of the season or where this team will end up, everything will be good. Doncic agrees on the trade as per the report, therefore, seeing it as a big help for the team.

I've heard about the man's attitude problems, but never knew that it was really that bad honestly. I thought it was only some kind of a game thing wherein he sees himself putting in the work and the hours whereas his teammates never really put in the effort. Well hopefully he finds his jive in the Mavs with Doncic, and the spotlight Luka currently has will motivate him to play and perform well and set that toxicity aside. He's a very versatile player, and I'm sure the honchos in Mavs saw that too.
