2603  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What else can you do with an Asic USB Miner? on: September 17, 2013, 04:17:06 AM
Firmly grip the top of a beer bottle with one hand, and wedge the Block Erupter under the bottle cap with your other hand.  Use the fingers wrapped around the bottle's neck as a pry-wedge and quickly pull the end of the erupter downwards.  Bottle top should pop right off.

Should look similar to this:

Haha I heard of some people using them for vanity mining, and I remember reading some where about possibly turning these into usb coffee warmers.
2604  Bitcoin / Mining support / 3 Daisychained Anker 9+1 hubs showing some block erupters as "unknown device" on: September 17, 2013, 12:56:49 AM
I'm now having this issue where after my 22nd device plugged into my anker hub regardless of what it is will show up as a unknown device I have 3 anker hubs 2 of which are daisy chained to the 3rd one. Now it doesn't matter which order they are plugged into or which port anything after 22 of them it will show as unknown. I reset the COM ports in the registry and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the devices so i'm not sure what to do next if anyone knows a fix to it i'd love to hear it.

Whenever he can't even stomach his BS, his right eye blinks just slightly sooner then his left eye, and slightly more pronounced then his left eye.

If the nation falls for this bullshit then the republic is officially dead!

The same type of thing happened to me once.  My dentist shot me full of novocaine and the numbness went up into my eye socket.  As it wore off, that eyelid lagged behind the other whenever I blinked.  Pretty sure they keep Obama sedated when he's not golfing, so that could just be the drugs.
Haha skip the novocaine an go for the gas! But on a serious note I really think this chem bombing is pure bs just another excuse.
2612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner & MobileMiner: Your Coins. Your Pools. Your way. Win/Mac/nix/Mobl/Ava on: September 13, 2013, 09:15:55 PM
Everything was working fine and suddenly it crashed, now whenever I load the software I get this error :

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** Exception Text **************
System.ArgumentException: Version string portion was too short or too long.
   at System.Version..ctor(String version)
   at MultiMiner.Win.MainForm.ThisVersionGreater(String thisVersion, String thatVersion)
   at MultiMiner.Win.MainForm.CheckForMinerUpdates(MinerBackend minerBackend)

Is this still happening for you? This looks to me like someone posted an update with a poorly defined version number. I do notice that cgminer 3.4.3 is available today, so I'm wondering if that wasn't posted for a short time with a bad filename / version.

Let me know if you are still having this issue. If so please download the Debug build from the releases page and then re-paste the error message you are receiving.

I have this issue as well, I was also wondering how are people setting up your iphone app for the rpi and minepeon??

2619  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: September 13, 2013, 02:41:39 PM
How long does a class 10  8GB SD card in an RPi with MinePeon last? In weeks/months?

For a couple of days now my Pi is doing some odd things, like stopping mining/crashing. This morning my Peon was down for 8 hours (all Block Erupters green) but l could SSH into the machine and simply do a "sudo systemctl start cgminer.service" to get it mining again. 2 days ago I had to unplug the power cable from the Pi as it seemed to be hung up completely.
Before that the Pi was running for over a month straight.

Can this be the SC card? will it fill up with logs or other files at some point, or will MinePeon delete it if necessary? Could the SC card be degrading?

I'm still on 0.2.2 because I am afraid to update Wink

Maybe someone can make a new short guide on how to install and update the newest version of MinePeon + cgminer + the usb lcd screen (the one that was supposed to be working with 0.2.3a), just a rundown of the shell commands needed to get a working, not every couple hours rebooting miner.

I noticed (last night actually) that you need to expand the partitions if you're on a SD Card that's over 2GB. I don't think log files should fill up that quickly, but I did notice that the default image is at 1.7GB for the main working partition, which it's taking up 70% on that, smaller partitions for the other stuff seemed fine. however, 350mb (+/-100mb) of play area for the main partition.

How do you expand the partitions?
