2601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitepaper says "We" on: July 16, 2022, 05:44:24 PM
You have to remember one thing..... Satoshi Nakamoto is a Master of disguise.... and someone that will use "smoke & mirror" techniques to disguise his true identity... and he also worked with other people in the Cyber punk communities. "We" might have been used to strengthen the support for the technology ....so that people might believe that a whole group of people were working on the project.  Wink

We see a lot of these smaller gambling sites popping up all over the place... and a lot of them are run by individuals... but when they post something ...they will also say "We" to gain people's trust.
2602  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka Economic Crisis is Getting Worse on: July 15, 2022, 03:06:31 PM
The thing is this.....

Political instability are even worst than corrupt governments, because this triggers a power struggle in government and possibly civil war. Yes, they can over throw their government, but they will have to rid their previous government from all rotten apples.... and then replace them with good politicians and civil servants.  Roll Eyes

Let's hope Sri Lanka will not follow the same path as other 3rd world countries like Zimbabwe, where they removed the Robert Mugabe government and replaced them with more corrupt politicians and civil servants.  Roll Eyes
2603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: July 15, 2022, 10:50:31 AM
I cannot speak for other people, but I am a very disciplined gambler. I have a weekly "entertainment" budget for gambling, so I make sure that I pay all my expenses first and then allow for a small portion of my remaining budget to go towards "gambling".

The problems start when you start to dive into the budget for the other things for which you have to pay for.... and when you use that for gambling. I hope other people will follow the same strategy to prevent "gambling addiction" problems.  Sad

@Kakmakr @Betwrong so many laptop issues just use the money for a cheap PC second hand, get a new fan/ventilator and be done lol

I wish I could do that but I share apartments with few people and no space for a PC. Though it can be refreshing in a way to be without computers at your personal home space.

Anyway, don't forget your price predicts all, last day today for 1st round.

No, I prefer to use a notebook/laptop over any desktop computer every day. We have regular power interruptions and I can then rely on the internal battery to keep me going for hours. Yes, you can buy a small UPS for the computer, but that just add to the total cost of your purchase.

The mobility is another plus point with notebooks... because you can sit and gamble in any room in the house... or in bed when it is cold or hot in a specific area in the house.  Wink

Ps... I bought a small second hand notebook for Granny... so she is very happy now... and I can now enjoy my own notebook 100% of the day.  Wink
2605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallet demand increases in 2022 bear market as exchange scramble on: July 15, 2022, 10:05:18 AM
I think as more and more strict regulations are implemented on Crypto currencies, people will start to look for alternative ways to store their Private keys and they are also getting more familiar with the concept of controlling their own Private keys and not giving that power to 3rd party Exchanges.

The Crypto exchanges are the weak link in the Pseudo anonymity of Crypto currency holdings and people are recognizing that now. We cannot discount the fact that criminals are also buying more hardware wallets to protect their proceeds from criminal activities.  Roll Eyes
2606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Saves my relatives both of Life, Time and money on: July 14, 2022, 12:27:50 PM
So, here is the question....

Why would the conversion of the money to bitcoin.... save his life? Bitcoin is still "money" ....so the people that were hunting for his money, stopped doing this, because he transferred it into his Bank and then bought Bitcoin with it?

Those same people can still take him hostage.... ask for a ransom from his family ....and then get hold of the bitcoins again. So, he is still in danger... I will suggest that he leave that country and go back to his family.  Roll Eyes

Feel free to try after weekly or monthly paid out and see the result.

I know, each people have their own opinion at the time lose situation. Even myself, avoided any kind of games gambling with an original game from the casino. We all know, that most of the original games have hash game and provably fair. But still, I too paranoid and think there has some bot chasing your bet activity ~XD.

I only keep this opinion for my self.

No my friend.... we should share our experience and opinions freely on this thread, because it was created for that purpose.  Wink  Stake is getting some feedback about our experience and we share strategies with each other.  Wink

There is a difference between criticism and just sharing your personal experience with other people. It does not matter if they have a "feeding mode" button for the site.... because they have to make profit ....but we can help each other to spot when it is feeding time... so that we can reduce our losses and increase our pleasure from playing on the site.  Wink
2608  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Preev.com - DNS hosting service has expired. (Resolved) on: July 14, 2022, 11:16:51 AM
OK, I am very glad to see that Preev.com is online again. I hope the person or persons behind this site will provide contact details for us to notify them when the site is down.

Looking at the site statistics and the hits Preev.com are getting, I will also suggest that the developers behind the site might consider adding a donation address for people to help with the funding for the site.  Wink

In any way.... Thank you very much for all your inputs.  Wink
2609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My class had their first Bitcoin exercise with my class on: July 14, 2022, 11:07:08 AM
Well, the obvious next phase in their Bitcoin education is going to be the installation and use of the Lightning Network via Electrum. https://www.electrum.org/talks/lightning/presentation.html#slide1

The advantage of using the Lightning Network over Bitcoin (on-chain) transactions are the reduced cost of the transactions and also the speed of the transactions.  Wink

Well Done..... you are doing a great thing in educating the youth and the future of Bitcoin.  Wink

+1

Feeding mode can be meaning all-player are gonna make lose by the casino for all players not only by him self. Since he was mention weekly & monthly word, to mark with this one he need to know from all-player perspective.

Meaning, need to know the result of each section from the user.

Well during "feeding mode".... a lot more people complain in the English chat, which might be one more indication that something is going on and that I am not the only person experiencing it. I will say, most of my time is spend on Stake original games and third party Slots... so I can only give my opinion on that.

I do some Sports betting too, but that is based on a little bit of skill and a lot of luck.... so RTP does not come into play there. I am not saying the games are rigged.... but rather that "feeding mode" is enabled at times... and that I can spot it.  Wink
2611  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Watford Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: July 13, 2022, 12:25:30 PM
Do you guys continue gambling, when you pick up that Stake is in feeding mode? My definition of feeding mode is when the RTP is altered to take more from the player. I usually pick this up when I run tests on the original Stake games, because the bet amount is lower.. so I lose less money when I run the test on original games.

The feeding mode is usually a few days before "Weekly" or "Monthly" are paid... or when there are some special promotion that needs funding. I play a lot... so I can quickly see when there are a huge difference in the way it pays. (You do not need 1 000 000+ bets to see when the RTP is higher than usual.  Roll Eyes
2612  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank runs make u use crypto on: July 13, 2022, 11:03:29 AM
Satoshi has always said.... "Bitcoin is an alternative payment option".... so what happens when your primary payment option fail? ==> You turn to alternative payment options.... like Bitcoin that are widely accepted. Is stablecoins widely accepted? No.... it is more suitable to trading pairs and a hedge against Bitcoin's price volatility.

If a Bank run happens... Banks will "restrict" withdrawals or close the doors.... then you will be forced to buy goods and pay for services at merchants that accept Bitcoin payments.  Wink
2613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 10 years, 9 years ago - from Theymos reddit AMA on: July 13, 2022, 09:05:08 AM
Well, the hardforks was done for different reasons.... but he was correct... it did change the original protocol a lot. The LN sidechains can be seen as another technology on top of the Bitcoin protocol ....which made the "cost" of the transactions a lot cheaper than before.

Theymos has been there from the early days, so he had contact with many of the knowledgeable people in the Bitcoin community. This gave him access to a vast amount of knowledge and insight into the working of the technology and the possible roadmap for it's future.  Wink
2614  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Preev.com - DNS hosting service has expired. on: July 12, 2022, 05:55:18 PM
Well, it is the perfect time for some developer to jump on the opportunity to close a gap in the market. Just make sure you keep it basic and also use a very short domain name. (URL) .....because that was part of the success of this site. (Also, it did not have advertisements all over the site)

The owner obviously did not create Preev.com to profit from it, he/she/they offered this service to support the community. (I would add a donation address to fund the domain hosting cost for the site, if it was mine)  Wink
2615  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Reduce the Global Wealth and Income Inequalities in 2022? on: July 12, 2022, 05:45:54 PM
The only way for "Bitcoin" to close the gap between the poor and the rich, is for poor people to buy bitcoins when the price is low and then to sell for a large profit when the price reach a new all-time-high. The problem is.... most poor people live from hand to mouth to survive, so they do not have the disposable income to buy bitcoin. (even in small quantities)

So the solution is this.... Rich people should help to create "online" jobs for people to be paid in bitcoin to enable them to earn bitcoins. Why would rich people do this? ===> Answer : When the Middle class is gone.... guess who will have to pay all the taxes to support the poor! - The Rich people...
2616  Economy / Economics / Re: Good and Evil money — The Morality of earning Money/Rewards on: July 12, 2022, 01:22:37 PM
You are paid ...based on your market value in your specific area of work that you do. Your employer will determine what the salary must be, after research was done to determine what the industry standard is for the payment of that specific job.

In my view... people earning "money" through illegal means... might be perceived as "evil" money. (This is money that are stolen or linked to criminal actions.. drugs / smuggling / money laundering etc..)   Roll Eyes

And still Eddie is undefeated (2-0)! Looking forward for the trilogy with Drake. Grin

And thanks to Stake, I received $50 from their Drake vs Stake 2 Bonus Drops.

Was it just me.... or did it feel like Drake was giving out a lot less than what he did in the previous stream? I think one of the mods said he gave away $500 000 and Stake gave Bonus codes to the value of $500 000 ....which totals the $1 000 000 he posted.  Roll Eyes

Also.... on the previous stream, Drake gave away a big balance to everyone that signed up through the email... which did not happen this time. There was also a $1000 wager requirement for the Bonus code giveaways... which sucked for some of my friends who did not wager. (We came together as a group to watch the stream.... and some of them got nothing)  Sad
2618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin teaching approach on: July 12, 2022, 11:12:47 AM
I have been working in Africa on contract for my company for years... and one of the sideline projects is to empower the communities to "fish" for themselves. (We used to provide for food, but we were more successful in helping them to provide or cultivate for themselves)  Wink

The thing is... most rural villages do not have basic infrastructure like electricity and Internet or even clean water, so it is a waste of time and effort to teach them without that being in place. (Generators and small solar panels are used, but it's expensive to run... but they can charge cellphones and you can use that as a teaching tool...because a lot of them know how to use M-Pesa on cellphones) Wink
2619  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coinplate - a new, ultra durable Seed Phrase Backup solution on: July 11, 2022, 06:10:00 PM
I just wanted to know if the Stainless Steel used for this ....also get what we call "white rust" in our country? Here is a article explaining this :
https://www.metalsupermarkets.com/what-is-white-rust/  ....because the small dent might "fade" if other corrosion takes place on the surface of the plates.

I live in a area where there are a real problem with rust... and I cannot use any product that will be influenced by rust and corrosion for something that holds very sensitive data.  Undecided
2620  Economy / Gambling / Re: UltimateArcade.io (pm me for free 50 cents) on: July 11, 2022, 12:00:58 PM
Ah... I see why you are doing this OP ....." Refer a friend, get $10 ...On their first deposit, you both get $10! " ....Well Done on innovative thinking.  Wink  Something that I picked up in the ToS ===> "All Non-U.S. and Non-E.U. players, can always participate in warm-up free to play tournaments."

Also, they require (a) full name; (b) permanent physical residential address and a billing Zip Code in a jurisdiction in which participation in the tournament you select in Ultimate Arcade is unrestricted by law; and (c) credit card or other payment information, which information and/or signing authorization may be verified by Ultimate Tournament (becoming a "Cash Player").

So people that does not qualify to play here, will struggle to bypass all these KYC requirements.  Roll Eyes
