2601  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinjedi / betsofbitco.in SCAMMERS: Declares "Push" on obvious win for BFL bet on: April 12, 2013, 10:08:29 AM
It's a tactic carried over from Josh's Bullshido days.

Now isn't that amazing.

Know who else was deeply entrenched in rec.martial-arts and bullshido back in the day? Oliver "usagi" Richman.

Usagi, Luke, and Inaba should start an exchange together.

Or a wallet.

Or wait, wait, I got it: a forex site. Based on "open source" code.

The more you know:

If you take the first 2 characters from "Inaba", characters 2+3 from "Usagi", and characters 3+4 from Luke, it almost spells "insane".

So, no, you shouldn't have them do things together. It would be almost insane.

Bitcoin isn't a zero sum game.  It's an expanding entity.  Everyone can win.

But do those ever get used?

I get some from time to time. Usually the more assholish I am, the more I get.

Mark Karpeles. Before being a victim of his own success, Mark Karpeles was an ugly fat kid with no prospects.

But but but, he's still an ugly fat kid  Huh
2606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 11, 2013, 02:30:15 PM
Just gave their number a call and spoke with Andreas.

Having worked in Sweden a lot Andreas is definitely a Swede and definitely picked up the phone and had a conversation with me Smiley

SO I am pretty happy that these guys are genuinely who they say they are. The proof will be a demo of an ASIC machine. This will be provided as and when they have it. They are not promising anything as of yet and holding back specification until the development is more concrete.

Watch this space I guess!

no offense but i don't buy this. you just created this user and you are implying that only after one phone call they are a legit ASIC business? why didn't you asked some technical questions. they should know the fab, the process node and some other stuff. you just spoke with one person on the phone. BFL has offices, has boxes full of fans and they even "shipped" some kind of FPGA shit that they called ASIC, but that doesn't prove anything.

It's a reverse psychology sockpuppet thing.

You have the sockpuppet start out as a loud critic, then slowly scale back and have the sockpuppet turn into a loyal supporter, for he "has seen the light".

Combine it with a third sockpuppet as suporter who you had sockpuppet A argue with and Bam! Instant Reputation.

I kinda wish y'all speculators become homeless, start from a scratch and earn your money by doing smth for the society (like being a farmer, a doctor, a fireman, you know...just smth useful).

YAY!  Smiley

I've got masters in political science

Well that at least fits observation.
2609  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Open Letter to Gonzague Grandval - CEO of Paymium on: April 11, 2013, 12:21:09 PM
Hmm isn't there someone on mtgox also called Gonzague??

Am I mistaken or is this a huge coincidence?

Gonzague Gay Bouchery, yes. Gonzague is of course derived from the royal house of Gonzaga, which ruled Montferrat and Nevers in (then) France. So that name could be rather prevalent in certain parts of France.

Tonight I got a 2 factor auth message from Google on my phone even though I didn't try to login. So someone knows my password.

Actually not necessarily, 2FA is sent out even before the password is entered.
2611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: http://theorb.biz/ on: April 11, 2013, 12:06:57 PM
Someone really should DDOS all of these idiotic copycats out of existence.

They are not running those sites because they are idiots that deserve to be ddos'ed.
Someone is selling a package that allows you to run you own site with the game, if he sold a few dozen you're going to see many of those sites of course.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144335.0

Doesn't invaliditifyiy my point. Copycat sites are incredibly annoying with the aggressive marketing. There was a time at the end of march when nearly every second thread here was about another stupid bitcoindiamond or bitcoinruby or bitcoinwafflewithcherriesandcream.
2612  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I think Gox is Lying on: April 11, 2013, 11:58:17 AM
Look now how nicely the site is running.  Seriously.   What happened to the ddos, just went away?
There never was one. Look here at MtGox saying there never was one:

Keep up bro:

Indeed.

Did someone say investment Opportunity?

My Google Alert was triggered.

Where can I put my money?

Put it into my blockchain wallet. Then we can watch it getting try to get hacked in front of the fireplace sipping red wine, smoking a cigar and occasionally cleaning our monocles: "I say, Wilfred, look at the brash youth approaching the wallet." - "My goodness, so immodest and foolhardy. This cannot stand, Charles, I will send a note to Her Majesty come the morrow."

But it doesn't give out free money to people who simply want free money.

It does, but they call it "investment opportunities".
2616  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGOX hacked by Anonymous, email addresses of users revealed [unconfirmed] on: April 11, 2013, 11:19:32 AM
Is that the old account list from the old mtgox hack or is it a new one?
2617  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain wallet hacked - 1 BTC lost! on: April 11, 2013, 10:59:35 AM
I'm not sure about "Logik" being at fault.

People have been trying to hack into my blockchain wallet for about 2 weeks now every night and I have never used "Logik"'s API or even have any idea who he is.
2618  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help me raise funds of 7 BTC on: April 11, 2013, 10:33:13 AM
I'm not joking about the spices thing. It's a goldmine.

Grab some junk from your local seller, throw a little hot-rod-red in there, build a webpage outlining how the west only gets some watered down spice mixes but you and only you are selling the real Tandoor spice mix that's not diluted for western mouths.

Throw some pictures of temples, mountains and chickens on there.

Also a cute smiling girl happily grinding something intensely yellow or red. With a grindstone, mind you, not the "other" kind of grinding.

Sell that shit to wannabe gourmets at 3 bucks per gram. Bam! you're rich. Congrats. Pay my 10% share.

I think they're sore losers who shouldn't be betting if they can't take responsibility

This is the same, with ppl who invested in pirate? Sore losers? Dude, they're customers, that were scammed.

See the thing here is, the bible says "Love thy neighbour as thyself". So luke, devout christian that he is, of course follows this tenet.

The real question is now
a) how deep is the Well of Self-Loathing within Luke that he is this abrasive and cold-hearted?
b) if we could find a way to tap into the Well of Self-Loathing, how many BFL ASICMiners could we run with that power?
2620  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help! Odd unauthorized payment by my address in Blockchain!? Fraudulent? Error? on: April 11, 2013, 10:19:36 AM
Pretty much, yeah. BT-qt knows internally about the new "change adress", but doesn't tell you about it. I'm not sure why exactly the developers implemented that like that. I think I read something about people would only get confused, but in my experience people get even more confused when they have adresses they don't even know about due to change.
