2601  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the bitcoin price continue to increase? on: January 26, 2023, 01:19:11 AM
Anyone saw the price hitting as high as $23,400? So now, $23k is the biggest support line, and it might take some days to maintain that price. Because that's how the market works when he had this sort of mini bullrun. The last time was $22k and it took us like 4 attempts to finally get over with that barrier and hit $23k++ today.

So yeah, probably the price will continue to increase even next month.

And it seems that everyone is very bullish right now. It could be good or bad, depending on how you are going to look at it.
I agree with you. Bitcoin is now between 23,000$ and 23,500$. Next fluctuations are going to define with certainity if we can really consider a new support level or if we should still take in consideration Bitcoin may drop to 22,000$ and 21,000$.
Personally, I expect Bitcoin to remain stable on this price range, or to continue rising from 1000$ in 1000$ for the next months. I don't believe in a hard crash in this year of 2023. The currently scenario looks a preparation for a strong and intense bull run that should happen next year.
2602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We lose on the long run through return percentage on: January 26, 2023, 01:03:36 AM
They are numerous stories of people who won the jackpot and ended up spending the whole money back on the casino within a short period, 1 or 2 years, they lost the jackpot.

Isn't it?

Inspired by Jean Scott - Frugal Gambler
That is why gamblers should be smart when using the jackpot prize won from slot-machines. If they continue gambling, of course they are going to lose the entire prize along the months or years, without hiting another jackpot of the same size, because it's really unlikely.

If those lucky winners simply use their money wisely, making it grow through investments, they can make extra income from that and use the generated income to continue their gambling hobby. This way they aren't going to lose on long run, because thanks to gambling they achieved a lifetime extra income which allows them to maintain their gambling activity in a frequent basis.
2603  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rise described as false bull on: January 25, 2023, 10:15:11 PM
It's not a false bull or bull trap, as the tendency is already lasting for a whole month, and probably it will. I believe if it were a trap it wouldn't have lasted for longer than one week. Bitcoin is retaking its previous position from last year, before the time seasonal holidays started, that is usually when people cashout their funds to travel and buy gifts, consequently crashing BTC. However, there can be bull traps soon on Bitcoin's way towards superior price ranges, such as 40,000$ and 50,000$.
2604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free crypto possible ? Or impossible? on: January 25, 2023, 09:58:32 PM
Crypto enthusists should keep in mind the time they spend grinding these priceless tokens is wasted. Time that they could be putting under good use and making real profit, instead of receiving tokens they can't even sell after all, because the developer didn't take the project till the end, didn't register it at exchanges or didn't manage to create any demand in the market.

There are good opportunities in crypto, without any doubts, but to start from zero it's not the same thing than it was years ago. These days it's more interesting to make initial budget outside crypto in order to start investing on it later.

Developers give away "free coins" just to "suck in" as much people into their projects as possible. Some do it to pull off a scam, while others just do it to help their projects gain exposure. Claiming "free money" from airdrops is no different than claiming coins from a faucet. You'd waste a lot of time just to get a small reward in return. It's totally not worth it. You're better off working for crypto or mining/staking to get higher returns in the long term.

With regulators weightning on the industry real hard, you can say goodbye to freebies for good. Who knows if this means less scam projects in the future? Just my opinion Smiley
Who knows... Less scams would be a decent plus to crypto industry, so more people would feel encouraged to become enthusiasts and we could filter worthful earnings' opportunites from the useless/scammy ones easier and faster. Altcoins bounties' section should be a great board for newbies start collecting their first cryptocurrencies and growing it into something substantial within time, like many of us had the opportunity to do in the early years, but with so many junk offers there, it's really challenging to pick a good task to complete until the end. Let's hope this reality can still change soon.
2605  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best strategy for Dollar Cost Averaging on: January 25, 2023, 09:10:35 PM
DCA should be done in the moment you receive your paycheck. If you earn weekly, do it weekly, if you earn monthly, do it monthly. It's important to follow this strategy, so you don't distract yourself purchasing another stuff in your daily routine that will compromise your DCA plan.

Also, make sure to write the price you are buying BTC each new turn in a spreadsheet, so once you cashout your profits futurely, you can calculate accurately how much you have made and how much you have invested.
2606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK fines online casino for only asking KYC from winning gamblers on: January 25, 2023, 07:56:39 PM
I don't think KYC should be required in every cases. Gamblers who stay under the radar shouldn't have they IDs asked, just like it currently happens in most crypto casinos around. If casinos have to follow KYC procedure, that they do it with big players. On that case I agree KYC should be demanded on winnings and losses. It can't be used as a tool to kidnap gamblers' winnings, but as a measure to prevent money laundering, as it was firstly designed to.

So, it's acceptable big players who are losing huge amounts of money comply with KYC, just like the ones trying to withdraw huge sums of money.
2607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hasbulla's NFT collection on: January 25, 2023, 07:37:45 PM
He 's very well known celebrity even in my country Türkiye. I keep seeing him on instagram stories and youtube shorts. I always felt like people around him trying to milk his fanbase. It started with likes and views, continued with boxing match revenue and now turn of nft came. Its strange. But I liked them giving opportunity at least meet him in person. I would like to have picture together with him - it would be nice for reactions and likes on social media. As nft collection I don't think it will be significant anyways.
Talking about Turkey, maybe the next NFT collection to be launched is going to be from Koksal Baba, what do you think? Cheesy

They have similar fan-bases, and I believe he is even more popular than Hasbulla in Turkey, since he is native from your country, and he also has a history of participating advertisements' campaigns, video clips plus million of views on Youtube.
2608  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: January 25, 2023, 06:24:12 PM
No, just look how many crypto related businesses there are nowadays. Basically these businesses rely on bitcoin for the survival of their businesses. These people won't let bitcoin reach to zero. There is a whole ecosystem composed by employers, employees, developers, freelancers, investors, traders, merchants who beneft from bitcoin in a daily basis. Moreover, without bitcoin I don't think we would have access to a real decentralized currency which nobody can shut down or print more of it as they wished. The trust bitcoin achieved from adopters is unique and it's also a factor to boost the currency's price.
Multiple investment in bitcoin have drained do many businesses, perhaps bitcoin is one of the solid investment available in the space but also at a risk. Bitcoin dumping to zero is impossible, the chances of dipping to zero is very slim, because the investors especially the whales are not ready to take any risk to liquidate their accounts. Top companies have their investment in bitcoin with gigantic pieces of bitcoin, even Elon Musk and Changpeng Zhao have stored bitcoin in their cold wallets inother to use it for future purpose.
And even if whales wished to liquidate all their holdings, in an attempt to drive bitcoin's price to zero, that would be great and healthy for the market, because we would finally get rid of manipulation here, as all the coins dropped by them for sale would be immediately purchased by new and small investors who were waiting bitcoin to get cheaper to invest. Indeed there would be a momentaneous crash in price, but that should be instantly reverted by a bullish tendendy due to removing the big players from the game. Whales aren't crazy to do that, though. That would be too good to be true. Smiley
2609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too accessible of online casino grows addiction faster? on: January 25, 2023, 06:20:40 PM
Having access to gambling through the mobile phone is something that is common and we must not concluded that it's the cause to getting addicted since we have individual decision in making the best use of their quality time for various engagement including gambling without affecting their daily lives and people around them, if you're self disciplined then you can control addiction without stress.
It's addictive because it's accessible and reachable at anytime, since you have connection with the internet, what isn't hard nowadays too. The individual doesn't even need to get up from his bed to start gambling. Everything is done at the reach of his fingers. OP is right, and it's much more encouraging than having to go to a land based casino which is far from home or in another city. If the person isn't attentive to his gambling habits, the risks of developing an addiction are much more severe than in the previous era, when there weren't virtual casinos yet.
2610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This Smells Like Hypocrisy on: January 25, 2023, 06:00:04 PM
I am also shocked by this as they banned those other gambling games as they can be addictive but what Ive found reading and searching is that horse races have a long history for them so it means it is already their culture and they are doing this, the same with other games like a lottery as the government earn money from it for their country. Though they said that it is for entertainment purposes I don't see a reason why other games are banned and those types of games are not.
If it's really addictive and many citizens are affected then one of the main solutions to combat the issue is to ban those games. In some countries they also do that even though those games are originally made by them. There is no exception. It was only gambling but what important is the condition of the people. There are still games or activities other than gambling which are also entertaining.

We can live peacefully without gambling trust me. It's only hard at the start but later on, we will get used to it. Even though they say that it's only used for entertainment purposes, there are people who still can get addicted with it. Video games for instance but a certain title of video games are also/already being banned.
Nowadays with internet and crypto casinos, to ban gambling games in their country doesn't make sense, because any japanese citizen can simply sign up at one crypto casino, make a bitcoin deposit and start playing any game he likes and can't physically on his native country. Although it's bad news for japanese who want to start a gambling business, it's good news for online casinos which see their customers' base increasing exponentially because of government's measures like that.
2611  Economy / Economics / Re: looking for bitcoin-funded business ideas on: January 25, 2023, 05:40:54 PM
You don't necessarily need to import goods from Alibaba or China. I don't know how the demand for such cheap product in EU is, but I guess you could try something more refined and elaborated. Since you want to invest your BTCs, the most logical alternative is imports, without any doubts, as Bitcoin is a boardless currency, very convenient to negotiate with people from other countries in an accessible way.

But first, check what the demand in your area is for, then go for that category of good, but not the cheap, copy ones. Import original goods of high quality and look for customers who are willing to pay the fair price for it. And don't stick to China only. Maybe you could even import something from an european country which you know you are going to resell easily.
2612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of NFT on: January 25, 2023, 05:25:11 PM
People who i know who are buying and selling apes and punks aren't laundering money. They are paying taxes for them, just like with altcoins.

But would that money laundering argument apply in altcoins and why they sell as well?
Because one could explain the whole reason of making new cryptocurrencies, building DeXes and having icos, ieos, and idos as just a method to launder money.
In some cases it also applies. But regards altcoins, there is still a practical purpose on why we should acquire and hold them for real benefits.

And of course buyers are speculating. Whole cryptocurrency scene is purely speculative so i don't know why NFTs should be an exception. They are just in tokens with a different protocol.
True, but if you can speculate on something which has a practical usage it's more advised than speculating on NFTs which have as main argument the uniqueness of the pieces, although you can reproduce each of them for free with a simple print-screen function on your keyboard. The potential of these artistic NFT collections is the same potential of memecoins. Today they have demand, but tomorrow they might not have anymore, because it's exclusively about hype, instead of real benefits and application.

And i wasn't talking about art and i am not sure what Mona Lisa got to do with this. I was talking about scarcity and linking nfts to pictures.
That was an example of scarcity, originality that could never be replaced by a digital format of art.

And market tells us that they sell and work perfectly in digital format.
Because of the speculation which can last until tomorrow only, and not because those NFTs are considered outstanding art pieces. Speculative price can be 1$ million dollars, but artistic value of those NFTs is zero.

But originals keep on selling then even if those are the same exact picture. Because people are buying scarcity and history. Quality of that "art" is irrelevant and a bonus.
And i am really baffled why people hate nfts. It's just a protocol.
Regards NFTs, do you mean? In some months or years nobody will know what apes and punks are anymore and enthusiasts holding those pictures on their wallets are going to see their investments melting down... And that is not hate, just an alert for investors who are being deluded by this category of crypto investment.

2614  Economy / Economics / Re: Common Currency for Brazil and Argentina: Africa Why? on: January 24, 2023, 10:30:17 PM
I believe each country has to solve the problems inside their own houses, before partnering with others. By mixing argentinian and brazilian currencies, they are bringing the consequences of internal economical problems from Argentina to the brazilians, and vice-versa.

Each country has its political and economical systems which were chosen by citizens in democractic elections. By doing this, authorities might be mixing systems people from one country or another aren't confortable with. And considering how chaotic is the economical situation in Argentina and Brazil right now, I don't see it as productive measure.

Anyway, the proposal doesn't replace the currently Real and Peso by a new currency. It's different from the Euro in Europe. They would coexist and the usage wouldn't be imposed to every citizens from both nations.

Regards Africa, well, it's not a common currency for the whole continent which is going to be the solution for their problems.
2615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which company will be next to accept Bitcoin? on: January 24, 2023, 09:13:33 PM
Probably it's not going to be a major company, but minor ones ran by car dealers who resell used, second hand cars in different countries and regions. Since it's a tough business full of competition among each other, these professional sellers have to be creative and offer their customers different payment options. The more the better, and that is where bitcoin comes in handy. During a negotiation, bitcoin might be the decisive factor!

I say that the next brand to accept Bitcoin will be Pagani What about Tesla and SpaceX? Haha
Tesla had plans of accepting BTC and DOGE as payment, but later it was revealed to be just a speculative declaration for manipulative purposes.
2616  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: January 24, 2023, 08:42:42 PM
Bitcoin for long term gains and stocks market for stability, plus dividends income. Both are good alternatives for your money to avoid letting it idle depreciating in fiat currency, but right now I'm more confident in BTC than anything else from stocks market. The lack of trust in companies and institutions is really worrying investors around the world, while bitcoin becomes an alternative in this scenario of uncertainties and mistrust.
2617  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 24, 2023, 08:23:29 PM
The ideal is to acquire a house, but sometimes we have no choice besides renting. Like myself, I've been always against renting, but now I had to go for it, paying 135$ monthly in a suite, in order to be able to seek for a higher educational level in another city. I concluded we can't be too strict on our views in a way it's going to paralyze us in life. Life is constant movement, and if we have to "waste money" renting a house or apartment to advance in life and persue goals, that we do it without regrets!

Also, if you live somewhere precarious and non-promising because a temporary job, better that you just rent, as the investment there will be lost, since these areas don't make your property gain value on long term.
2618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Main reason government won't fully accept bitcoin on: January 24, 2023, 07:36:35 PM
Governments run ponzi schemes through their national currencies which are heavily manipulated by the central banks. If they adopt bitcoin or a strong stable currency, like dollar, they won't be able to continue their populist welfare programs which distribute "free" money to the poor class, while raising their own wages and increasing the number of useless jobs' spots in the state for their friends.

Actually, governments don't want to fix the economy for real, because it's seen as an unpopular measure in the eyes of the masses. So they prefer to play with "shitcurrencies". Wink
2619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: shiba inu coin, now ranked 13th in cmc on: January 24, 2023, 07:17:18 PM
SHIB is following BTC trend upside in this beginning of 2023. It's a good moment for those investors who were in loss with their SHIB portfolios to get rid of this token while they can and invest in something promising for the future. On the other hand, if you are risk taker, you might prefer to continue holding and see how far SHIB can reach yet, although personally I don't think it's a good idea, since the price of this token is blatantly manipulated in large scale.
2620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of NFT on: January 24, 2023, 05:40:40 PM
Let's talk about those pictures since everyone is obsessed about them. Yeah you can own the exact copy of the jpg and print it on your wall if you want. Who cares? Do it right now. But you can't sell it because no one will buy it, even when it looks exactly like original. Not even when you make nft out of it. That's digital scarcity. You either want to be a part of history of digital scarcity or not. It's really up to you.
I really can't sell that, because nobody will have interest in purchasing, since just like me, they can also get a .jpg identical copy for free. On the other hand, you could never have an identical Monalisa painting copy for free. The market of art pieces can work only in physical format.

NFT artistic pieces are purely speculative and a method to launder money virtually.

I can't believe i ended up defending NFTs as i used to laugh at them in 2019 for the same exact reasons you told me.
I believe NFTs have a lot of potential, but inside online multiplayer games only, as they have unique usages on practice there.
