2606  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitfinex is a scam. on: June 11, 2013, 01:42:04 PM
II. Running stolen, bug ridden software (the old Bitcoinica codebase) that has already proven itself useless in the marketplace (three times!)

OK, noted. I will do my own due diligence.

2608  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: June 11, 2013, 09:16:21 AM
Tradefortress, I just wanted to say thank you for doing a great job running Coinlenders and BTCInvest.

I just hope it will always stay profitable enough for you to keep the temptation at bay to make a run for it Wink

I know someone will open a Bitcoin Bank in N.Zealand and Malaysia.
Will be nice to see more companies giving out loans in BTC.

i'm not surprised...  Grin 5gh/s is miniscule nowadays, unless someone takes it as a novelty item or mine altcoins but for pure btc miners there's no ROI at the current rate of difficulty...
you may try ebay though who knows may be there's someone willing to give you a better price...

oh Ebay. thanks for reminder.

2611  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp Account hacked - $300 (Offer to thief for 3.3BTC) on: June 09, 2013, 11:28:41 PM
I am half tempted to start the fight against Bitcoin, not because I am financially hurt by this I dont want others in my state who cant afford $300 lost to be effected like this.
You left your money in Bitstamp without 2FA, it's entirely your fault that this happened.

Dear Bitcoin users, caveat emptor!  Cool
2612  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp Account hacked - 3BTC on: June 09, 2013, 11:27:56 PM
Yesterday I also tried to cash out my 4 BTC to my wallet from Mt. GOX Shocked. 41 minutes into the 60 minutes it was wiped my wallet it out Huh, I think I did the math right on paying the .005 or whatever it was, and it looked like my wallet took, their cut because the transfer out of my wallet was a bit smaller than all of my figures, and I found it on the blockchain, it say it is still unclaimed and there is a note on the right hand side with a couple of things and one is VERIFY. I have not been able to get an answer back from MT. GOX, there is a ticket made up, and I have been trying to get verified for over a week and finally when I sent them the correct document for residence, I got an email,m telling me that I am back at the bottom of the que, so, I have to think they are not releasing it to me, I read about getting a code and blah, blah... I thought it was hacked, but it is still out there, and it is directly linked to my wallet and Mt. GOX respectively, I am all new to this and it is burning me out bad!!!!!

Does this make sense to any of the Bitcoin Forum Wizards?   Grin

Thanks,
-Branzig

You don't get it, building an ASIC takes a lot of time and you really can't report trade secrets so yeah.
So yeah, you don't want to get my point. Did I say I wanted to hear in detail what he does? Did I say I wanted to hear what methods he uses, whether they are secret or not? Just some signs of life.

You're right, I completely agree.  A quick couple of lines progress report each week would go a long long way.

Spot on. As investors, we have a right to see some timelines.
2619  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Malaysia on: June 09, 2013, 01:39:06 PM
I'll only bring up the DC solution for customers having  ASIC farm of 2TH/s and above. thanks for reminder.

@cloudstrife07 - I never thought of that. Maybe its time I find a data centre solution to mitigate the power risk.

Anyway, I wonder how some people can do mining at home, unless they changed the meter to 3 phase, changed the Distribution Box and additional wiring.

For nomal 1 phase meter home:

1 home socket = 13A.

1 rig 1200w = 5A.

so you can go max 2 rig per socket, unless u route the 20A MCB (mini circuit breaker) from the DB which is usually used for airconds to power your rigs.  Huh

too expensive. see here for example: http://www.aims.com.my/colocation-services/co-location-package-and-pricing-in-malaysia/

unless you're going to have an ASIC farm of 2TH/s and above, i don't think it's feasible to use a datacenter.

if mining LTC or other alt coins, the electricity is going to be really expensive there. hence, i guess it's better to rent an office shoplot and put them there. a shoplot if im not mistaken has 200A, so can house maximum 30 rigs there + aircond. you wouldnt want to put more, it's risky as it's nearing the 200A current. 1 shoplot can easily get around MYR1000. cheaper than datacenter.

but well, for datacenter, there's 'free' aircond and 'free' internet already with 24/7 power. (the MYR3000 u paid every month is for that  Tongue)
