2601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC looking for more tools to track crypto on: August 10, 2020, 11:40:24 AM
According to this post: https://beta.sam.gov/opp/f11c3e2445d94c429dbcce7019cc91d1/view?keywords=%22smart%20contract%22&sort=-relevance&index=&is_active=true&page=1

Quote
Description
The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), 100 F Street, NE, Washington, DC 20549, intends to procure a distributed ledger technology (DLT) smart contract analysis tool to analyze and detail code within blockchains and other distributed ledgers, in support of its efforts to monitor risk, improve compliance, and inform Commission policy with regard to digital assets.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541511 and the small business size standard is $30,000,000. This combined synopsis/solicitation is set aside 100% for Small Business.

And they are probably looking to buy some smart contract or blockchain analysis tool to help them track those illegal activities (non-registration) or even more. Obviously, they want to follow every trail specially for big companies involved like exchanges.

The fact is :
The already have enough tools to track the cryptocurrencies and transactions and with the KYC enabled wallets it's more easier than ever .

What they actually need to do is :
-To get some crypto enthusiasts working with them
-Keep in mind the thin line between Centralization and helping the community to track these behavior

Problem is :
They have to first state how they will go on about tracking the illegal activities ?? They would essentially have to track everyone , literally Everyone then join the dots.

The thing is this way it will be nothing but a highly controlled cryptocurrency which would totally kill the whole idea of privacy.

I do think they have to stay away from the cryptocurrencies for a while since only 10% of Bitcoins is involved in the illegal activities and for this the privacy of rest 90% should not be compromised.

2603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Dead by 2106 on: August 08, 2020, 06:32:29 PM
A really interesting topic :

Quote
Projected to happen in the year 2106, Bitcoin will suddenly stop running based on the code its network of users is running today. Users won’t be able to send bitcoin to others; miners securing Bitcoin’s global network will no longer serve a purpose. Bitcoin will just stop.

-Bitcoin might die in the year 2106 because of a bug in the code that's been known since 2012

Bitcoin core contributor stated how this has been known since 2012 might known even before it but it does have one simple solution.

Hard Fork

Quote
The good news is the bug is easy to fix. It’s a problem Bitcoin developers have known about for years – since at least 2012, maybe earlier, according to Bitcoin Core contributor Pieter Wuille. To some developers, the Bitcoin bug potentially sheds light on the limits to Bitcoin’s decentralization, since the community will all need to join together to fix it.

So we do have some years to fix this problem and find a solution , the community needs to work together if they do want Bitcoins to stay forever.

Why is there a problem in the first place ?

Quote
The bug is simple. Bitcoin blocks are the containers within which transactions are stored. Each Bitcoin block has a number tracking how many blocks come before it. But because of a limitation revolving around how block height numbers are stored, Bitcoin will run out of block numbers after block number 5101541.

In other words, at a block height roughly 86 years into the future, it will be impossible to produce any new blocks.

The problem with hard fork is:

Each and everyone running the node and the miners do need to update, if they don't , they will be excluded therefore it can only be successful if everyone worked together .

In the same article the author explains how Bitcoins might get ossified over time , which would in turn make it harder to change things in the future , therefore this issue needs to be addressed too .

This was personally very interesting for me since I had no idea that something like this might happen if change wasn't made on time , what are your thoughts on this ?

https://www.coindesk.com/fixing-this-bitcoin-killing-bug-will-eventually-require-a-hard-fork
2604  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to replace into USD coin (from eth) and pay out the cheapest ? on: August 08, 2020, 06:40:46 AM
There's a comparison where it comes out cheapest? Including deposit, trade and withdrawal commissions?

1. As for me , I do use Zebpay , it gives very good rates plus at the same time for 0.7$ approximately , you can easily put the cash in your bank account.

Don't just go on about the cheapest, take care if the service is credible and reliable , read the reviews on the Google and other places.

-Try seeing for yourself a wallet that is also offline and work as a trading platform , this way you can timely encash and store your coins too.

zebpay.com
This is the site if you want to check out , I have been using it since forever plus , now it does allow international registrations.

2605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is the future of crowdfunding? on: August 07, 2020, 09:57:08 AM
Elon Musk is selling his "boring" flamethrowers for Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum.

https://ethereumworldnews.com/elon-musk-sells-boring-flamethrower-for-bitcoin-ethereum-litecoin/

"This time, as spotted by The Next Web’s Hard Fork column, prospective flamethrower owners will be gaining access to Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC) payments to put up money for the crowdfunding effort. Along with the four crypto assets, users will be able to use Apple Pay, Google Pay, along with traditional debit and credit payments through Paypal.

Seeing that the Boring Company’s crowdfunding participants are likely to to be forward-thinking, the addition of a cryptocurrency payment option was likely welcomed. Now, consumers from all across the globe can buy Boring Company’s “Not A Flamethrower” for $500 a pop, which is reportedly a lower figure than the startup’s $600 pre-sale price. This translates to approximately 0.078 BTC, 2.48 Ether, 1.13 BCH and 9.5 LTC, it just depends on what cryptocurrency you want to spend."

The fact that the company is trying to promote use of crypto is not only great for its acceptance, but more easily allows global access.

Thoughts as to whether this will initiate crowdfunding in crypto as the new norm?

The thing is when you are using a visa card or something else and making sure that your money reaches some other part of the world , you have to wait for a while and let the company process your payment.

At the same time you have to pay additional charges for exchange of Currency.

Therefore when it comes to crowd funding campaigns with respect to cryptocurrencies it might mean a lot since it would essential:

Increase the adoption of cryptocurrencies
Fast and easy payments
People don't have to worry about time and conversion fee
Can see how their transactions are going about and even used

But :

Volatility is always a negative point which might effect a lot regarding the crowd funding campaigns.

(There are cryptocurrencies though which are not that volatile therefore they can be used)

This will not only provide security but at the same time the Transparency makes it an excellent choice.

_*_

But still it will vary depending on the user preference some users might not want to actually send money though cryptocurrencies and such .

It might fail , it might not , it depends on the crowd you want to attract, what kind of people actually integrates themselves with it.

2607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Flooding in China effect on bitcoin on: August 06, 2020, 11:23:53 AM
What are peoples thoughts on the effect of flooding in China.

that there is no flood (yet)

The three Gorges dam has been failing to hold back the monsoon season and threatening to flood major Chinese mining operations.

1. Many (if not all) miners moved from China, due to government threats to the industry
2. Three Gorges dam is the subject of stories about it being weak or failing

Please write a new thread when something actually happens, your thread is basically:

"Someone said something about something that hasn't happened, and it wouldn't matter even if it did" Roll Eyes

Yes "

At the same time Government in China did take control of a lot of Mining farms which actually made the people scared for their small businesses. The Government wanted to control the hash-rate and indirectly the Bitcoins.

Back in 2017 China had control of over 71% of the Mining pool , therefore it was already hard enough for the community to fluorish due to regulations but after the Government started seizing the mining farms many people decided to take their business else where , this way China did loose a lot of people who would have been golden to the community afterwards , since now there have been a huge surge in terms of jobs for the people who actually are very though with this sector .

Plus the flood warnings are already there therefore am sure that the people will be able to act accordingly and take care of everything on time.

In worst case scenario even if the hash rate decreases it would mean that, more smaller and bigger companies would take over and the hash rate will recover soon enough.
2608  Economy / Economics / Re: Since jobs are unlikely to return, Do u think there will be a 3rd $1200 stimulus on: August 06, 2020, 10:19:30 AM
how about a 4th $1200 stimulus check. A 5th $1200 stimulus check. A 10th stimulus check. How many times will this do this? infinate stimulus check?

money printer go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well first of all , the jobs are likely to return if the Government decides to actually start taking care of the economic situation seriously. Stimulus is not the answer . Again and again it will not only deplete the government money but at the same time it will crash the price of the dollar.

The US already have to take a debt in trillions if they decide to go on with everything that's been happening without actually solving it.

Quote
Government Debt in the United States increased to 26477241 USD Million in June from 25746260 USD Million in May of 2020.

What needs to be done is :
1. Give people jobs
 -HOW?
By making the country self sufficient , banning the export for a while to contain the virus then focusing on Industrialization. It will create jobs and at the same time balance out the situation. Even the Government can make long term profits.

-Stimulus is not the long term answer .
2609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Best Course Of Action? on: August 06, 2020, 08:35:33 AM
Just a question to ask for advice. Right now with all the markets they way they are. Bitcoin is always in the upward in the market.  Of course it has periods of going down. But crypto market is doing quite well in these times.

I am asking what is the best course of action?

Should I just keep buying and HODL and keeping my Bitcoin for a rainy day?

Or is trading is back and forth to stable coins and trying to make more gains a good action plan too?

Need suggestions and advice. thanks

Hello ,

I do think you should sell a part of Bitcoins , this way you can save some of it for the future and even earn a little profit right now .

See it would be really hard to follow anything right now , therefore you should calm down , look at your expenses , see if you can afford any upcoming loss.

Because when the market goes up , there are fair chances that it will fall down really fast too . Therefore I do think you might have to follow through the news every now and then .

If you do need money right now , you should definitely incash. But at the end of the day no one can tell you what to do. Best of luck for the future.

I think 100 Eur is a really low limit but as an idea it is a good one.It is designed to stop people becoming addicted and losing everything in gambling.I am a strong advocate of limiting to a certain amount the maximum money you can spend in a gambling site as it safeguards you for going even deeper.I think major websites have such option but are optional to the player and not mandatory.

Agree, since some problem gamblers don't have a stable income or those who are of low-income individuals, this will limit them for going beyond what they can spend.

Well apparently you did not read the same , even here I have stated above the aforementioned topic that you are talking about.

Both of them are Preety different therefore I did not think that it would be good if I did post there only. Plus I did put up a link of the previous topic the fact that you told me that justifies that you did not even read the first 4 lines 😂.

I think 100 Eur is a really low limit but as an idea it is a good one.It is designed to stop people becoming addicted and losing everything in gambling.I am a strong advocate of limiting to a certain amount the maximum money you can spend in a gambling site as it safeguards you for going even deeper.I think major websites have such option but is optional to the player and not mandatory.

Strongly agreed , but the problem is they are putting very low limit , see if someone wants to gamble away 1000£ ,they won't stop him , he can most likely use good sites to 100£ but the person can get involved with the dark market and stuff .

At the same time get scammed.

But they cannot keep a track of each and every individual's net worth therefore the idea should be different for everyone , for some100£ is very low to begin with.

This is paving way for Centralization , soon enough online crypto casinos will be heavily regulated , at the same time Government will be asking for taxes from these sites which will shut off small business. It's like a whole new strategy.

Rest they have defined it as helping people break the addiction , I do think it's not really how people get out of an addiction.

You have to give :
Time
Attention

At the same time addiction for everyone is quite different thus should be handled differently. They could have made a helpline or something where people can reach them and talk about it. As far as I understand the human psychology does not allow for forced regulations, it only creates problems.
2611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Regulations in online Gambling sites on: August 06, 2020, 07:06:44 AM
I very recently read a news regarding how one has to prove that , they can afford the loss of even 100 euro.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5266925.msg54941310#msg54941310

Now I was going through the news and found some indepth idea of how the casinos will be regulated online. The one am sharing is regarding the slot games being regulated online in Great Britain.

https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/slot-games-in-gb-to-receive-betting-and-deposit-limit-suggests-a-new-report/

-Mandatory limit between 1£-5£
-Soft cap of 100£ monthly

This changes a lot of things like :
Quote
Gambling content
Gambling affordability
Licenses for gambling
Gambling tax
The regulatory framework for gambling

This is paving a new way towards centralization of online Gambling sites by the government.

Quote
The report suggests the implementation of controls for online (remote) gambling. According to the paper, limits on both stake and speed of play need to be introduced. Online slots should have limits of £1 and £5 per bet. On the other hand, according to the report, non-slot content should receive limits on game design. This is because if non-slot content receives bet limits, it may become: “commercially non-viable.“

_*_

Quote
The authors of the report further outlined a suggestion for the implementation of a “soft cap” limit of £100 per month on deposits. According to them, this amount represents the sum of what gamblers spend but it also introduces a “socially acceptable” spending limit per threshold. Such limit ensures that spending on gambling does not exceed poverty thresholds for lower income households, says the report.

^ This one I might agree with somehow , as it will control the gambling addiction but at the same time it won't stop people from using other methods to gamble . They will just hide it from the government and use sites which doesn't follow up and end up getting scammed.

But 100£ cap is too low.

According to them they are looking forward for controlling the gambling of low income households and for the high income households they want to show them how they have to control their habits of gambling per-se

People are not bots.
They are very aware of what they are doing at the same time they could have opened the care system or something for them instead of controlling them like this , Because at the end of the day they cannot influence each and everything just like that .

It is done with good intentions but forcing people to follow rules will never go well with anyone.

What is your take on this ?

This news actually paves a way further into how the governmental bodies plan on regulating the online casinos especially the crypto ones .

2612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Las Vegas Casinos Scared of Lawsuits on: August 06, 2020, 06:30:26 AM
Since the casinos opened in the June , even though the cases of Corona virus were rising and it was deemed a bad idea by most , unfortunately the regulations did not go well.

Now the small business based casinos have urged the Government to spare them of Lawsuits that might cause their whole business to shut down.

Lawsuits like *I got infected here , there was no sanitization* and boom , you are in the news and finally the casino needs to be shut down.

Now I do think this will be very unlikely that Government will make an exception regarding this since time and again we have seen that people don't follow the rules themselves , most of them don't even know how to use the masks , what did the casinos expect ? This was bound to happen . That is the whole reason why online casinos and gambling sites are fluorishing during this time .

-If the Government does this, most casinos might get away with cleaning and sanitization problems , if they don't some casinos are bound to shut down sooner or later.

Quote
The Nevada Resort Association has urged Nevada's lawmakers and governor to pass legislation that protects casinos and small businesses from frivolous lawsuits

Other trade bodies and executives warn that small businesses are vulnerable to liabilities and that should be limited quickly to avoid further economic slump

The argument goes that it's nearly impossible to prove where an employee got infected and if a business is directly responsible

https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/las-vegas-casinos-ready-up-to-protect-from-coronavirus-lawsuits/

They shouldn't have opened up in the first place , they could have might as well invested in an online site during the time and they could even buy stakes in some online Gambling site and wait , since coronavirus is not going to go anywhere until and unless strict restrictions are going to be followed , which is better for the business in the long term
2613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to invest BTC other than in casino bankrolls? on: August 06, 2020, 04:23:05 AM
I'm looking for places to invest BTC. Are there any decent options other than casinos?

It's possible to lend BTC at Bitfinex and Poloniex, but interest rates are ridiculously low. What else is there that isn't an evident scam (like ponzi schemes)?

-Gambling site , buy some stakes
-News ICO's
-Lending is an option but it always comes with a risk
-Trade your Bitcoins yourself , don't go for a professional trader , there are companies which provide you with a everyday guidance regarding the trading , you pay your own personal assistant , but at the end you can try doing that for a short while and then get on your feet
-HODL
-Try making small bets in games you are good at.

A quote from poloniex::
Quote
Earn without trading
Let your crypto work for you. Lend your BTC, USDC, USDT, and 16 other crypto assets to earn interest directly in your account. Hold TRX or ATOM and receive regular rewards with our simplified staking. No unbonding period, no problems.

Small interest rates are something that you have to consider at the end of the day, since, most sites promising ridiculous interest rates are scams ... If it's too good to be true , it's most likely a scam.

Best of luck.
2614  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: FreeBitcoin Bot - What do you think about this tool?? on: August 06, 2020, 03:56:15 AM
Hi all,

Please take a look at the videos of this channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2VBQbO-iQwzk9snf1aXZdw

It's a new tool that works for FreeBitco.in and helps users to implement different strategies. Can be used to auto-claim free satoshis every hour or bet automatically using a strategy on Multiply BTC.

It uses a new approach for betting based on history. Instead of betting always HI or LO (or alternate), it bets based on previous numbers (statistically, the sum of HI or LO that we get tend to be the same...). Watch the videos for more details!

Leave your comments, feedback, suggestions, etc.

Thanks!!

The tool might work wonders if it was integrated for some of the highest paying faucets but at the same time there are some things to consider :

Some of the faucets have actually changed the way you collect your Satoshi, you have to write a long answer and stuff therefore I do think that the bot won't be able to work there , the companies are ofc trying to eleminate the bots . Therefore this might be kind of a war between the software and the company itself and then they might decide to ban not activity.

_*_

Honestly I think it will work for other sites and applications , I do think it is nice , only problem I have is that they are asking the email address but then again you can always make a new one unrelated to your personal information.

At the same time when we are taking about placing bets and such , I have had used a bot before for placing continuous bets over a period of time to see if it's effective. Well unfortunately it wasn't and I did loose a lot in just 30 bets . Therefore manual betting is much better in my opinion.

2615  Economy / Gambling discussion / You have to prove that you can take the loss on: August 06, 2020, 03:24:28 AM
According to the source stated , the online Gamblers needs to prove that they can handle the losses . This decision was taken into account after the government had a lot of news regarding the gambling addiction and problem that was arising especially during the pandemic.

It's a proposal by Social Market Foundation therefore still not implemented.

Other than that , one needs to actually follow some rules if this gets cleared:

Quote
A £100-per-month “soft cap” on online losses.
Tax breaks for firms that move onshore.
Limits on how much can be staked online.
A regulatory shake-up, including a new ombudsman.
A kitemarking system for firms that uphold standards.
A clearer sanctions regime for those that don’t.

Therefore even if you loose 100 Euro , you might have to get ready to prove that , the loss was indeed flexible and you can take it . Unfortunately now the Government is looking forward to regulate the online Gambling since , the revenues from the offline casinos have taken a strong loss , online Gambling is now being preferred since it's safer and much needed during the pandemic.

This regulation might be problematic for some  , for sure now the crypto gambling sites will receive a notice and let's see what would be the height of regulation.

OK I had nowhere to publish this so I started a new theme  Grin
Here is the official news:

''A new pilot scheme that will allow amateur women to play in a senior men's team in the Netherlands has been approved by the Dutch Football Association.
The KNVB has given permission for one woman - 19-year-old Elle Fokkema - to join fourth-tier VV Foarut for the 2020-21 season.
The pilot could lead to regulations amended permanently to allow more women to play 'category A' men's football.''

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/53649795

What do you think of this?
If some talented girl shows up, can you imagine that she plays for the first team of Ajax or PSV, in the Champions League match against Real or Barcelona?
Personally, I'd like to watch it and I think it would be very interesting.
We're already used to female referees in men's football and even women who coach men's soccer teams.
Soon it will be time for women to play alongside men on the same football team  Grin Grin

If any of you would like to bet, what do you think are the chances of a woman playing in the first men's team of Ajax or PSV in the next 10 years?

This is a really interesting topic , I personally feel it would itself break many barriers and restrictions , show the world that you can do things differently.

The society needs this , but then again the thing is :
Implementation
How the public will take it ?

When we are thinking about the bet being made for the 10 years time period , I do think we have fair chances that we will soon see some woman playing in the team .

The first match with a woman in the team would be epic and no one is going to miss it for sure.

When we are talking about Qualifications , I do think one should understand that if she wasn't qualified none of this would have happened , people would have seen some talent and gone forward .

Thank you for sharing this , I often thought about investing in the sites but was never sure if it was a good time and idea . You have here provided an unbiased review , I do think I will now in the future try and Invest in the top gambling sites .

I do think it might be worthwhile in investing in a new gambling site.18% is really a good profit , at the same time due to fluctuating price of Bitcoins it might be harder .

Hi,

I started playing in crypto casinos for a couple months now, and I just became curious about where all the expert crypto gamblers usually get your news and info.

I mainly use Best Bitcoin Casino, Crypto Gambling News, and of course here,
but are there any other sites that you guys recommend?

Hello , you should actually try BTCGOSU , it's a website which has good reviews at the same time the fact that its not just recommend by it's users but at the same time I have seen number of reviews for example :

https://cryptotalk.org/topic/109218-btcgosu-the-most-trusted-bitcoin-casino-guide/

At the same time you can directly click on my signature if you are actually interested in the same.

https://www.btcgosu.com/

I would recommend you to work with the sites involved in the community itself , this way you are able to contact the people involved , get fair reviews , learn a thing or a two, plus we do have a section involved with websites which are scamming people and such therefore you can always double check and make a decision for yourself.
2619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Crypto being way better when it comes to tracking - what we always said on: August 05, 2020, 06:14:18 PM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/twitter-hack-shows-that-crypto-is-easier-to-investigate-than-fiat-say-industry-law-experts

Time and again there has been a feud between Bitcoins supporter and the Government . Government always said how cryptocurrencies are not a good option since they can be used for illegal purposes and therefore should be banned .

Twitter hack did steal a lot from people but at the same time the fact that the government was able to track down those people do prove that whatever claims they might make about cryptocurrencies being problematic and used for money laundering and other stuff , they are forgetting the fact that it's so transparent that it can destroy the whole corrupted body itself. Maybe this is the reason why they are scared of the Bitcoins.

I do believe through this we learned a few lessons .

- how one should be there extra cautious online
- how Bitcoins needs to be recognized as a good thing by the government not a competition or be negatively associated.
2620  Economy / Economics / Re: Virgin Atlantic Goes Bankrupt, Bailouts? on: August 05, 2020, 04:10:29 PM

Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd [VA.UL] is seeking protection from creditors in the United States under Chapter 15 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, which allows a foreign debtor to shield assets in this country, according to a court filing on Tuesday.

The U.S. filing is an ancillary proceeding tied to a separate action filed in a British court, where Virgin Atlantic obtained approval Tuesday to convene meetings of affected creditors to vote on the plan on Aug. 25.

The high-profile Branson had attracted criticism after calling for government help for Virgin Atlantic to survive the downturn.

Without bailouts, perhaps the airline industry would be dead, and thousands would go unemployed. Then, it might affects hospitality, tourism, taxi/uber services.

Should the government bailouts the airline industry? What will be the future for the airline industry post coronavirus pandemic?

Some things to consider here:

- Airlines are not returning money in some places , they are expecting the people to actually wait till the flight resumes and giving them merits

- Some Airlines are working with the Government and some big personalities in evacuating citizens stranded abroad and they are charging *2 the normal fare , those airlines might survive the big picture.

- There are many countries who are thinking of resuming the flights soon , maybe the domestic one's right now. But travel bans are slowly getting better .

- Some countries are shipping cargo internationally like : when Donald Trump Asked Ukraine to help US , those airlines might survive somehow

* Unfortunately this is how the situation is in every sector and therefore they cannot just ask the airlines to bail out since it would set up a bad example at the same time they might give them certain period of time in which they are supposed to pay the amount due. But total bailout is not something that should ever happen for anyone.
