2621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US casinos set new record of revenue on 2022 on: February 06, 2023, 06:41:02 PM
Well tbh, it seems like the brick-and-mortar casinos here re not doing very well. I mean, they are still posting quite the revenue on their platforms but it's not really as record-breaking as the ones in the US. Perhaps one thing that affects this is the ongoing inflation that ravages our economy. Not a lot of people have that much disposable income anymore, and the only ones that can afford to go to casinos are the rich ones and the upper middle class people. Most are trying to save some money where they can and it's understandable. But yeah, $55 billion in revenues for casinos in just the US alone is pretty big, though not surprising at all.
2622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you interested in bitcoin? on: February 05, 2023, 11:59:31 PM
Profit? Investment and asset value security? I mean, there's a ton of things that people can just throw around here and there, but the main reason would surely be money. A lot of people here are hypocrites if they say that money isn't the moving factor why they invested in bitcoin. Only hardcore cryptography and programming enthusiasts can say otherwise. But yeah, money and financial freedom - that's what your goal should be if you want to invest in bitcoin.

I didn't really like the way Ramzes plays carry as he's quite inconsistent, and hopefully Secret changes that inconsistency into something worthwhile for him and the team.
With what I've watched on him before, I've got no problems with him on that position and have been idolizing him. But let's see that, there will be for sure new adjustments again.

If you watched him back then, you'll see that he's explosive when guarded by supports most of the laning phase, but kinda falls out when he's left behind. Now a lot of carries that you see are self-sufficient, and can create space for themselves when the going gets rough. Haven't seen that in Ramzes in his carry days so I beg to differ.

It's been months or maybe even a year since Ramzes held pos 1 in big tournaments. Also most of his recent games are on offlane as well. I wonder whether he's still updated on the carry meta or not, but for sure he knows how to counter most carries and he'll use that knowledge to adjust quite well in the position. I didn't really like the way Ramzes plays carry as he's quite inconsistent, and hopefully Secret changes that inconsistency into something worthwhile for him and the team.

Is it already confirmed that he will play with Team Secret? As far as I know, it is still a rumor, but nothing is confirmed yet. It is easier for him to adjust to mid lane since he got experience than the other current players of secret.

I've only seen the rumors of transfer in Twitter, and if it's on Twitter already, there's a high chance that it gets confirmed soon. There's no way Ramzes is gonna leave VP given that he's been with that team for a long time and for sure he's compensated properly. But if he wants to win then there's really no place to go except for Secret, and help carry that team to Div 1 yet again.
2624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are good at using the most hyped utility on: February 05, 2023, 11:00:20 PM
They will really check out on what buzzwords they can use to further their agenda. They will check what the masses think of X feature before they integrate that into their altcoin and market it. That's what most of them are doing and sadly, some are successful in doing so. How would you integrate AI in a cryptocurrency anyway? If anything, you might just as well buy shares from an up and coming AI company if AI is what your main concern is. At least you'll be seeing results and progress, and you'll see your money getting its appreciation over time, too.
2625  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Since 2013 | Longest Running Crypto Casino | 113 BTC Jackpot! on: February 05, 2023, 09:47:21 PM
if I register and play, for example, I want to deposit LTC or DOGE, can I exchange it for other cryptos on Primedice, I think it would be interesting if there was an exchange feature there, even though this idea doesn't look attractive, but it looks cool, in my opinion
No you can't as there is no such feature in PD, even in Stake. Others will surely treat pd and stake as exchange/trading sites if ever they will add that feature. Then it would be better for them to create their own exchange site instead.
besides PD and Stake don't need to add exchange because they have opened a lot of support for crypto there, so people can have many options to deposit crypto they like from crypto using cheap and expensive transaction fees also exist, so no need to use exchange and anyone can choose the crypto option you want to use
It is better for casinos to not try to be many things at once, while it could be convenient for some gamblers to deposit a cryptocurrency and withdraw another one, casinos will probably have to go through bigger costs than exchanges to offer this service, and even worse if a casino is caught doing this is likely they will have problems with the authorities at the country in which the casino has their license since I suppose this service should not be part of what they are allowed to offer to their clients.

And not to mention the fact that it can be a vulnerability on the casino since they just have added another feature on their site that hackers can try to attack and exploit. PD and Stake are fine where they are right now, and they don't need to have an exchange feature in the casino if they already cater to a lot of altcoins that people might have. This will just present a multitude of problems to them and may even affect the way they deliver their services and cater to their peers.
2626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 05, 2023, 07:36:50 PM
I did this for a while and looked at the odds before I bet any money because that's how I would be successful in this type of betting strategy. I didn't continue because I had to use the money I was betting currently.

You have to be aware and never bet too much money that you will regret losing. Those high rollers betting probably have a lot of money to bankroll their whole gambling career. That's why they probably bet like that.

Make the decisions for them, but you should know the amount willing to lose every bet.

Betting with the high rollers is assuming that people who have a lot of money made these money gambling or that people who bet a lot are smart and know how to do it. Being a high roller doesn't show who the person is, how smart, how good at gambling. You'd need access to their lifetime stats to know that. Many people bet a 100 every day and they don't care if they lose because they another 500 a day and that's more than enough for them.

I don't follow anyone when I gamble. The only good thing about following others is that if you lose you can always say that a high roller lost more because he bet 10 thousand and you bet only 100 on the same thing.

This is absolutely true. This is why it's hard to follow high rollers because they will always have the budget to back up whatever losses they may incur along the way. They will always have a way to bounce back because they already have the money to fund their next bets and they wouldn't have any problems in betting on underdogs for a big win for the most part. I still tail bets, but usually on bettors that I know who wanted to win so bad just like I do. They do their research and have used logic before they lock their bets. Not saying that the high rollers don't do this, but most of the time they bet on some teams because they are a supporter of that team and nothing else.
2627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burning feature is not utility on: February 05, 2023, 07:00:42 PM
I guess they believe that coins with such feature tend to get more control in terms of value, as they are locked into the thinking that less supply = more demand = more value. That doesn't work that way if there aren't that much people interested in the coin, and if the utility is nowhere to be found, why would people really want to snag that coin out anyway? Most of them wants the profit anyway so they wouldn't really care much about utility. Besides, if the coin needs to burn tokens, that means there's something wrong with how they get the supply out.
2628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 05, 2023, 05:47:48 PM
Just like what happened on their short fall on TI, people were talking about Crystallis as the weakest link in the team.

Latest rumours about this, Ramzes is going to replace him soon. I mean he is decent but he might not fit in that team and he has been pretty bad since last season with Secret

Ramzes has left his old team as well so probably they are finalizing the deal
Another adjustments for them then. Well, as an org, Team Secret is a good org and team so whoever is going to replace someone's position, it will be filled shortly.

Ramzes going back to pos 1? Hmmm, I have been a fan of his when he's playing that position before. I will wait for further announcements.

Lots of interesting matches in IEM Katowice today. Obviously, the match of the day will be G2 vs FaZe. Both teams looking strong and haven't lost a single match in 2023, topping their own group in BLAST Premier last week, so I expect this to be a close one.

The rest of the matches will likely be one-sided: Heroic should take on Complexity easily, the same as Cloud9 vs IHC, and Outsiders vs Fnatic.

FaZe currently taking a beating against G2 in Ancient, 10-5. Broky, as usual, is spearheading the offensive for FaZe. Lots of good rounds for this man but simply isn't enough to convert it to wins due to G2's tight positioning on the map. Rooting for G2 but FaZe can probably get this map if they continue that great rotation of theirs.
2629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Interesting Facts About Online Casinos on: February 05, 2023, 05:30:13 PM
First online casino didn't really 'hit the web' in 1994. They completed it in 1994 but most of the tools and other end-user stuff didn't really launch until 1995. And even then, the experience isn't really that great, but it's something that propelled us closer to what online casinos are right now since people got the idea and they just developed things even further from there.

Also for the slot games, that is something I didn't know first. All I know is that there are tons of possible bet combinations, but never knew it reached up to 666. And it's more fun online because of RTP. Online casinos are quite generous on that part compared to land-based casinos.
2630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos Want you to Gamble Responsibly on: February 04, 2023, 10:33:28 PM
I don't know about you but from what I have seen, they could care less if you lose money. the fact that they've designed bonus promotions to try and bring back gamblers that have lost money on their gambling site and entice them to gamble again and hopefully continue gambling shows you that they could care less if you have lost money. also, the "gamble responsibly" you see is most likely part of the regulation that they'd have to follow.

Kinda reminds me of cigarettes. Their ads on every packet which states that cigarette smoking is a health hazard doesn't really deter the smoker, nor the manufacturers want the smoker to stop smoking. It's there because of regulations, and those that are into deep won't really think twice before lighting another stick. Also, these cigarette companies would still create a marketing gimmick that states that their cigarettes taste better than ever and all that type of stuff just to keep the smoker hooked. It really is no different honestly.
2631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bithumb CEO arrested on: February 04, 2023, 10:01:33 PM
Different sources, different reasons of arrest. But whatever it is, it has something to do with money for sure. If it'z embezzlement of funds, then he obviously wants to follow the footsteps of SBF, but unfortunately not in volumes and amount that SBF did it. If it's due to price manipulation, there's no way the law enforcement is pinning him solely for this activity. I don't think there'd be a lot of panic with the CEO's arrest. Bithumb is one of those exchanges that receives the customers that do not want to deal with the large ones, so its market share is really not that big at all.
2632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rejecting odd provider's limit on: February 04, 2023, 09:38:40 PM
Have seen few discussion in this board about odd providers limiting user accounts, I assume they must be tracking user's accounts across multiple casinos by email address, kyc is triggered later.

My question is, would it be possible to circumvent such imposition by simply using different emails while registering on different casinos?

You may not be actually free totally from being caught by them aince you're still going to go beyond the limit to what has been put in place, the have a system that helps track and cobtrol odd limits and in this regards, if i were you, i will split the games into two and use the different casino in placing the bet and of course it has to be with an entire different email and registration details, then try make use of the casino that does not require KYC to remain more safer.

That works on the first few bets, but after some time they will notice the betting patterns and the history, and they might connect the dots later on. Regardless, KYC will still be triggered albeit at a very later date compared to when you just use a single email across different casinos. You'll still encounter the same roadblock over and over again if you don't put any variations in your bets. At least if you want to cheat the system, do something fancy that they don't get you that easily Cheesy
2633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Enough? on: February 04, 2023, 08:57:36 PM
Whatever money you can afford to buy bitcoin, do it. Any amount of bitcoin you own is actually a good thing, regardless if it's 0.1, 0.01, or even 1 and above. At least, you have some, and you acquire them using the money that you are fine losing. I don't know what other people deem 'enough' for their bitcoin ownership, but to me, as long as I have some disposable income, I buy bitcoins regardless of the price.

If you really wanted to invest more in bitcoin, then maybe upgrading your sidejob may do the trick. Mind you, this does not only improve your capability in buying bitcoin but it also allows you to save more since you are receiving more money now so overall it's a win-win for you.
2634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 04, 2023, 08:29:55 PM
Natus Vincere seem strong in the main tournament, IEM Katowice 2023. They defeated Cloud9 by a reassuring 2-0 score in total. Especially their performance on Inferno was very impressive. s1mple was also impressive on this map. Some of his AWP shots reminded me of his prime time. It is good to see him getting stronger again because the team need his carrying skills as it seems.

They might be likely to face G2 once again this time here in the upper final. If this really happens I wonder whether they will let G2 win once again. Because they have a quite bad record against them recently.

It would be pretty traumatic for s1mple to lose against G2 yet another time. These teams have the best rivalry between teams so far but it's kinda one-sided for the last few maps since G2 took all of them in a very convincing fashion. Well, G2 is the team to beat right now on most tournaments, and m0nesy seems to be improving more and more as time goes by. I'd say his AWP skills are getting refined little by little and just when you thought there's nothing more to improve, he basically just proves us wrong.

I want to see more of G2 and Na'Vi in the big stages. Na'Vi really needs to redeem themselves especially electronic who seem to be exerting a lot more effort on his IGLing for this team.
2635  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area - part 2 on: February 04, 2023, 07:40:42 PM
I had a short stint selling food on top of my actual job, and I can tell you that it's no easy feat and would only work if you have a lot of free time in your hands at home and if you are really dedicated in what you do. I easily lost interest because the returns aren't that great, and the amount of time you have to spend preparing everything leaves you with little to no rest. Also, you need to buy and source the goods. If you really are that tight in money and can really use the extra income, it somewhat gives you something, but for me it isn't really worth the hassle at all.
2636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 04, 2023, 06:46:48 PM
I would trust high rollers when it comes to trading, but when it comes to betting on sports, I'd never tail them and would rather follow my degenerate people who bet a hundred dollars max on one event. The reason is, these guys will still have money to bet even after a lose and taking the huge odds, whereas us average bettors would likely consider every aspect of the game and apply logic to it in order to win, even if it does not give that huge return that these high rollers are aiming for.

They are just betting mostly on the possibility that their picks would hit - at least that's what the results you got tell me.
2637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos Want you to Gamble Responsibly on: February 04, 2023, 05:55:07 PM
While I think some of these casinos have the genuine care on their players, some of them are posting messages such as this for the gamblers to not think that the casino is their enemy and is there solely to take their money. It feels like it's a psychological trick that they're applying on users for them to continue playing as long as it's within a set budget that the gambler allots for their gambling activities.

Well if I were the gambler and sees that the casino somewhat cares about my well-being, I would be grateful and, in a way, will be supporting the casino even more.
2638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 04, 2023, 04:43:28 PM
Terrible week gambling here.  Going to take it down to just 2 games tonight hoping for at least a 2/3 to get back on track.

3 home teams 2 favorites and 1 dog

Wizards -3
Boston -10.5, how can't you take this team lol
And last gimme the Rockets +8 at home.  That's a lot of points to give while at home.

Good luck everyone.

that is why I haven't made my bet for today's game, I am taking a break for today's game but still going to watch the action from the comfort of my home,
I guess the spread of the Celtics was so attractive to trap bettors, LOL. I didn't expect that the Suns will have a huge lead at the early quarters, it seems like this team gets better and better against a strong team, I also remember when they have double figure underdog against the Memphis, but they came out strong and dominate the home team.

Celtics got decimated at home against a relatively weaker team. Can you imagine how many frustrated and angry individuals are at the time when that last 30 seconds of the 4th quarter ran? Gladly I didn't bet today since I just got home from vacation. This is the highlight upset of the day. Even my friends who regularly bet on the NBA cannot believe how Suns managed to beat Celtics with double-digit lead. It's shocking, but knowing how inconsistent the Suns are in their past games, this may be one of the games where they just perform good.

Better keep it some place safe. While I never had any problems with Binance for years, you'll never really know when shit hits the fan. Anyway, congrats on your first purchase! Sometimes all we need is a leap of faith in order to get things where it should be. Right now, the only things you need to do is take the money out of that exchange and kinda forget about it. Focus on what you need to do and come back to it after a year or two. That's what most of us here usually do and it never failed me just yet.
2640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: February 03, 2023, 07:27:16 PM
I only use XRP to transfer funds due to its cheap transaction fees and its fast confirmation times. I haven't really thought about buying XRP for investment purposes, as it's a centralized coin controlled by a company and every aspect of its development is highly influenced by those within the company. Ripple Labs doesn't really listen to a lot of suggestions from its community, and that's scary because the community is the one responsible for posting value to the said coin.
