Nope, not really.  Maybe a month ago when the difficulty was lower we'd actually be getting somewhere.  It sucks how low BTC we are getting for our hard work Sad
2622  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB: 5830 or 5850... on: July 27, 2011, 10:57:15 PM
That's not too bad then, I didn't even do the math of it but if it's only an $11 difference and you don't have to cash our your bitcoins to do it, it's a pretty close trade!  If you use paypal they'll take like $6 or something too.

2633  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Please help me solve the problem of trust on: July 26, 2011, 12:33:21 PM
One problem with eBay is still hacked/sold/stolen accounts.

One time I "purchased" 100 nintendo DS consoles from a seller with 15,000+ 100% feedback .. was THIS CLOSE to sending them their payments... when I got an email from paypal/ebay security saying STOP, NO, DON'T!!! That account has been hacked!!!

So... you can never really trust anybody, when it comes to buying more than a chocolate bar that is.

If I want to sell you a house and royally fuck you in the process, I only need to "borrow" somebody's good name.
I sold like $600 worth of bitcoins to some german people on eBay and got my transactions all reversed,.. and short of going absolutely nutters, we were extremely thankful that I came up with this video screencapture idea ahead of time!  We called Paypal and bitched at them for awhile, they told me the other peoples' eBay accounts got hacked or something.  And that's the thing that makes me wonder.  Shouldn't eBay have some sort of log of the IP address that accesses each account?  They just label a situation 'oh that was a hacked account' and just protect the 'buyer' a.k.a. scammer.

Long story short, either the fact that I had a video of me sending the bitcoins to the person in the Paypal proof or they figured out some other reason, Paypal gave me the $600 back!!!

W00T I went out and bought two sweet Radeons that day and was grinning from ear to ear the whole time.   I had the bitcoins as a $25 buy-it-now, so instead of buying them for $13 on an exchange I made these german  people buy them for $25 a pop!

Pretty cool idea, if you had remote access and whatnot, I'd be down to try out a service like that.
2635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please help me with my new ASUS 5870 card. on: July 26, 2011, 12:23:00 PM
I've always been a die-hard nVidia fan because everything always seemed to work.  Now that bitcoinland has made me sell off all my nVidia cards because they weren't making me any money, I keep having these crazy problems with these Radeons!  I got home from buying three 6870s from the store, brand new, and popped one in a computer.  Screen came up like a rainbow, but only after I installed the driver for it.  I take the second card out of the box, try it in the computer, same issue, after I install the driver I get this rainbow screen of death.  The first PC had an Asus Maximus Formula, and so I tried it on a tower with a DFI LanParty NF4.  Same exact problem, rainbow!  Tried a card on my mom's computer, an Asus P5L or something.  Boom, rainbow screen with a driver, didn't matter which one of the three brand new cards I try, I can't seem to install the driver on any of them.  Then I try using a VGA connector instead of a DVI.  Works like no problem in any scenario.

BOO RADEONS.  Why won't they just work like GeForce!  GeForce never got bitchy over VGA!  BOOO

JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION.
2636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: reformatted computer now btc are lost on: July 26, 2011, 12:15:27 PM
1: turn computer off.
2: don't touch computer at all until you have your bitcoins back.
3: write down exact problem.
4: find smartest person you know with a portable computer to help you.
5: **tell smartest person with computer, your exact problem and everything you did trying to fix it.**
6: have smartest person you know with computer come over to help you.
7: if he says anything about doing another format, while at your computer, refer back to step 4 immediately, if not proceed.
8: give smartest person you know with computer, plenty of space, don't hover.
9: if that doesn't work, refer back to step 4.

your odds are great following these steps.

2637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 5830 temps in 90s? on: July 26, 2011, 12:14:37 PM
It's amazing how quickly temps drop with a well placed fan!  Personally, I try find the Radeons with the cogwheel-style fan because they seem to breathe through the top of the card more than the front and if the cards are stacked right next to each other it wont overheat itself (especially with how intense the mining apps are for usage).
2638  Economy / Services / Re: Graphic design for .5 BTC !!! Logos on: July 26, 2011, 12:10:20 PM
Do you use legal software for this?
What difference does it make if it's just a dude sending you a jpeg for a bitcoin?  It's not like he's operating some large signmaking business getting rich.
