You can try contacting either quickseller or macbook-air and offering a small payment for them to get your transaction confirmed. They don't charge much and can get F2Pool to confirm your transaction.

You can contact them through these links.

macbook-air: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=16114
Quickseller: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=358020

Here's a quote from one of quickseller's satisfied customers.

I faced a similar issue a few days back transaction not getting confirmed due to low fee but user "QuickSeller" got my transaction confirmed in minutes when I sent him 0.0001 BTC. He has access to some pool . PM him.

Quickseller will push your transaction using F2pool, so when it mines another block your transaction will probably get confirmed. You can see the times it mined its latest blocks here.

Did you see that whale buying at Bitfinex just now?

More interesting is the whale buying on itbit who pushed it up to second place exchange for volume. That's probably due to fixed price OTC trades that don't pump the price, only the volume. Someone's reloading ready for the next pump.

It shows that it still unconfirmed transaction in the blockchain.info

0.5.17 version of multibit classic

I was going to change from multibit classic to hd but after i noticed about the link you posted for update then i tried it and it shows that it is confirming in the wallet with a shaded circle which is going to complete now. Thanks!

Does your version 0.5.17 have a fee slider like the one shown in this quote? I know version 0.5.16 doesn't, but the latest version does. The network is overloaded and most of the time transactions need a high fee to get confirmed fast. Even with that slider on maximum fee it's not enough at the busiest times.

I'd upgrade to the latest version of classic.

The latest multibit classic (0.5.19) has a fee slider in the preferences. It's maximum possible fee is 0.0005 BTC per KB, and there are times when that's not high enough to get a fast confirmation. This is a screenshot of it.

Hello. I have a multibit classic and its not confirming even seen by more than 30. It only shows white circle for hours now. Here is the screenshot.

Earlier i received around 300 dollars worth of bitcoin and it shows all are spendable but now it shows only 21 dollars can be spent. Earlier everything is spendable. Im confused

Thanks

What version of multibit classic are you using? Is it the latest version?

Can you post an address or transaction ID here rather than a screenshot so the community can check them in explorers without having to use OCR software?

You can download the latest multibit classic here.

I don't know what is btcmixer.io (?), but if you think about Bitmixer.io - It is the longest-running and most respected mixing service right now.
If you have any proof that this service scam anyone, please provide at least one example.

The difference is that your "service", are not able to provide even one example of a satisfied customer.

If you promote bitmixer.io with HUGE BANNER in your signature
then it's YOURS!!

I read a lot of people scammed by that site.

I wish it was mine Smiley Unfortunately, it is not mine, and the banner in my signature is just his advertisement from signature campaign:

If you've read so much about Bitmixer, please give us one link .. By the way, please give us also link to the withdrawal transaction ID from your scam service!

Recently there have been numerous phishing sites (like bitmiixer.io or bitrnixer.io) advertising through google. The screenshot in this quote gives some examples. Perhaps he got scammed by one of those sites. Those ads are sometimes at the top of the page before all the real results of a search for bitmixer. It's easy to click one thinking it's genuine.

Hi, could you please pm or public your Letter of Guarantee?
Warning to all. Please be careful and always check the URL in your browser as well as Letter of Guarantee. Currently there are lot of phishing sites, like bitmiixer.io or bitrnixer.io
They're always advertising on Google:

Why does Google even allow this?
2626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Use raspberry to create a paper wallet? on: March 23, 2017, 10:54:31 PM
Anyone here has any experience using raspberry and sites like bittaddress.org for creating a paper wallet?
I mean, Instead of using a PC, we use a raspberry to access the website, load the page, disconnect, create the wallet, print the wallet, then format the whole raspberry SD card.
Is it safe to do that?

As far as I know that should be safe to do. You may want to run a test on it first with a small amount just to check it works.

The only concern I have about it is how effective a raspberry is at generating random data. Normal PCs employ random events such as interrupts and hard drive reads. A raspberry has no hard drive, it lacks one of the biggest sources of random data available to PCs. I'm not sure if it matters, but I'd consider the risk of a raspberry generating weak private keys.

https://seifried.org/lasg/encryption/

Quote
In order for encryption to be effective, especially on a large scale such as IPSec across many hosts, good sources of random, cryptographically secure data are needed. In Linux we have /dev/random and /dev/urandom which are good but not always great. Part of the equation is measuring 'random' events, manipulating that data and then making it available (via (u)random). These random events include: keyboard and mouse input, interrupts, drive reads, etc.

However, as many servers have no keyboard/mouse, and onsider the risk of it cnew "blackbox" products often contain no harddrive, sources of random data become harder to find. Some sources, like network activity, are not entirely appropriate because the attacks may be able to measure it as well (granted this would be a very exotic attack, but enough to worry people nonetheless).
2627  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is there a way for me to use a Mycelium HD wallet in Electrum or vise versa? on: March 23, 2017, 09:44:21 PM
Were the addresses shown in Mycelium HD the same ones as were shown in Electrum? I thought they would be different because one wallet uses compressed keys and the other uses uncompressed keys.
This is what I wanted to know as well... as others have indicated that even though you can get Electrum to accept the Seed words from Mycelium, because of the whole compressed/uncompressed keys thing... The result being that Electrum ends up "generating" different keys/addresses from the same seed? Huh

However, I decided to just give it a go... downloaded Electrum onto the PC and used my Mycelium seed words (along with BIP39 seed option)...

The result: It has (re)created my wallet succesfully... all address (used and unused) match up... and it has even retrieved all the transactions! Cheesy  Grin Cool

Did you only have one account in your mycelium wallet, or did you have more than one? This post by torusJKL suggests electrum might only support addresses in the first account mycelium generates.

Electrum only supports the first/default wallet/account of the in BIP32 described HD wallets.

I'm sure someone has thought up a use-case for tracking transactions through the blockchain... maybe hoping they get contracted by private eyes or lawyers (or the tax department Tongue) trying to trace funds that people are moving around... and are probably making some good coin off of it Wink

These guys have, the exchanges pay them to work out if anyone is depositing dirty money. Also coinbase probably pays them to find out if any of its customers are breaking its rules by sending coins to gambling sites.

Assuming the SEC doesn't refuse a review does anyone know the maximum length of time it can take? The SEC moves at a glacial pace, and will probably take the maximum time allowed.

Quote
According to the SEC’s website, Rule 430(b)(1) enables parties to file a notice of petition within five days of the ruling (or within 15 days of its publishing in the Federal Registrar), provided clear reasons for the petition are given.

The rule goes on to state that the SEC, under this clause, may "affirm, reverse, modify, set aside or remand" the prior contested action as part of the review.

Thanks for testing it out for yourself. After some googling I found out that electrum switched from using uncompressed keys to using compressed keys.

electum 1.9 (the upcoming release) will use BIP32, and therefore compressed keys

Looking at the release notes it must have been after electum 1.9.

https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/master/RELEASE-NOTES

I tested exporting a private key from electrum 2.7.17, and it began with k (which means WIF-compressed). However, when I tested exporting a private key from electrum 1.9 it began with 5 (which means uncompressed WIF).

http://chimera.labs.oreilly.com/books/1234000001802/ch04.html#_key_formats

Quote
In a newer wallet that implements compressed public keys, the private keys will only ever be exported as WIF-compressed (with a K or L prefix). If the wallet is an older implementation and does not use compressed public keys, the private keys will only ever be exported as WIF (with a 5 prefix).

I decided to test it out for myself, but I could only generate one address in mycelium. I think I have to send Bitcoins to it before it will generate another.

Importing the mycelium wallet's words into electrum generated that first address OK.

When I tested using a multibit HD seed in electrum it didn't work. Although I assumed that was due to compressed/uncompressed keys it must be due to some other problem. Ranochigo says it's because the two wallets use different seed derivation methods.

AFAIK, you can't import anything into Multibit HD and they don't adopt the same seed deviation method as Electrum.
2631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: transaction doesn't show up on: March 22, 2017, 10:02:49 PM
It now has four confirmations. Blocktrail shows the transaction was also included in an orphan block about twelve hours ago. Perhaps that created some problems.

I am on it. Please wait 2 more minutes i need to grab some food first.

And it's back up to $1109 again. If that was you thanks for the pump.

There's about $90 between today's low and today's high. If you could arrange the same pattern for tomorrow we could go back above $1200.
2633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 21, 2017, 08:59:22 PM
It's $1099 on stamp and keeps trying to push up to $1100. How long until someone buys 187 coins and makes it $1100 again?

That'd be where I went wrong, it's working now. Thanks!

Wait... so you can confirm that you managed to import a Mycelium HD wallet into Electrum by clicking the Options button, ticking the "BIP39 Seed" option and then using the Mycelium seed words in Electrum?  Huh
Yup. I guess "BIP39" is the magic work  Wink

Were the addresses shown in Mycelium HD the same ones as were shown in Electrum? I thought they would be different because one wallet uses compressed keys and the other uses uncompressed keys.
2635  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How do I update my address in an MT.Gox OFFLINE claim? on: March 20, 2017, 11:25:11 PM
I moved to a different city, I have an Offline claim. do I need to feel the whole bunch-of-pages bankruptcy amendment form, or is there a lighter way to update just the home address?

Look on the mtgox website, the bankruptcy trustee took control of it and posts updates there. He says he's informing creditors who filed by the Offline Method of the results of the acceptance or rejection by sending emails.

If you had an email from him, then you could try informing him of your change of address through an emailed reply.

https://www.mtgox.com/

Quote
For those creditors who filed by Offline Method, I plan to inform the results of the acceptance or rejection of the claims by sending emails.

Bankrupt Entity: MtGox Co., Ltd.
Bankruptcy Trustee: Nobuaki Kobayashi, Attorney-at-law

The bankruptcy trustee says nearer the time of distribution he will allow those who applied online to change the addresses in their bankruptcy claims. Try asking him through email how those who applied offline can do the same, and when.

Quote
After 12 noon on July 29, 2015 (Japan time), the only things that a User will be able to do using the Online Method will be to (i) view bankruptcy claims that he or she has filed himself or herself and (ii) transfer his or her bankruptcy claims to another person.

However, nearer the time of distribution, the bankruptcy trustee is planning to give Users an opportunity to use the system again to make changes to the details of their bankruptcy claims, other than increasing the amount of the bankruptcy claims that Users have filed (for example, changes in their addresses or company names).

Are you using a multibit HD wallet, or a multibit classic wallet? What's the version number of the wallet you are using?

@Coding Enthusiast : thank you.

For my question A/ : of course, I should have guessed ! However - just for my education -  could a malware located on my online PC infect the Electrum install executable ?

Another virus attack risk depends on how you transfer your unsigned transaction file between your online PC and your offline PC.

If you scan QR codes through cameras your offline PC is safe.

However, if you use a USB flash drive there is a risk of infection by certain viruses that use flash drives to travel between computers, such as conficker.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conficker

Quote
Variants B and C place a copy of their DLL form on any attached removable media (such as USB flash drives), from which they can then infect new hosts through the Windows AutoRun mechanism

You can protect your USB flash drives by using special antivirus software that creates an undeletable autorun.inf file in them. Viruses like conficker cannot function unless they can replace a flash drive's autorun.inf file with their own malicious version. The only downside to protecting a flash drive is that it disables autorun functionality, windows no longer automatically opens a protected flash drive for you when you plug it in.

Bitdefender released usb immunizer to protect flash drives.

https://labs.bitdefender.com/projects/usb-immunizer/overview/

Panda released a similar product called Panda USB Vaccine.

http://www.pandasecurity.com/usa/homeusers/downloads/usbvaccine/

They are both freeware, you don't have to pay anything for them.

First backup all your private keys from your existing wallet. You can do that by clicking a wallet's description on the left hand side of multibit, then clicking tools, then export private key and using the window that opens, Repeat that for every wallet description your wallet contains.

You must be using multibit classic. The latest version is available for download here. Install it and check if it resolves your problem.
