2621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are those people that you don't want them to know you are a gambler on: November 11, 2022, 03:31:14 AM
I don't gamble that much and I consider myself a social gambler. The reason behind this is I try to control myself whenever I gamble so as much as possible I try my best to stay away from it or limit gambling as much as I can because of bad gambling habits. I have a bad habit of chasing after my losses and most of the time I lose all my funds or go beyond my limit when gambling. My wife is aware that I gamble, but I never disclose how much money I gamble with whenever I bet. I don't feel ashamed or even hide the fact that I gamble to anyone since I don't really find it an issue as long as you are not a problem gambler.
For me they are everyone now - I don't want to tell anyone what I am doing. Want to keep it private.

Privacy is safe but boring if you are not sharing your thoughts with others. I don't know if you are not a talkative person, but I am, and it is very boring if I don't have someone I trust to whom I would tell my experience as a gambler, though this is where the right people are that you can tell. I only have a few online friends with whom I share my gambling experience. My family and relatives don't know that I do this. It is best if you have a friend who is also a gambler that you can talk with; though it isn't necessary, it is good for our feelings and minds.

People have different personalities, he keeps privacy like how we avoid KYC in casinos.

Like him, I also don't talk about my gambling activity to anyone but to some few friends that I know are not going to tell to someone who knows will be upset and disappointed. We all have friends who value secrecy, those are the kind who you go along with smoking weed and hooking hookers together. Grin
2622  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Recent ftt ftx binance fud on: November 11, 2022, 03:19:23 AM

It is not a simple fud because it was originated from bad capital and risk management of FTX and Sam Bank-Fried. The report from Coindesk in early of November is a start of the fud wave. A few days later, CZ announced that Binance after considering about risk, decided to liquidate all FTX they have in portfolio. That is a trigger of FTX and FTT crash.

To be frankly, there are reasons to make people panic and it is not a baseless fud like what we often see with cryptocurrency news on social media. This one is very very serious and based on real report.

It's the reality of FTX. They've mismanaged the funds by using the token they created as collateral. With the token having very little demand, it's not going to survive when someone dumps millions of FTT in a bear market. The volume is not even enough, it's a fact. If CZ denied bailing out FTX, he must have seen the balance sheet can't be rescued.

It's too big to fail but looking at how much they are worth right now seems pretty much a certain demise unless someone like the government catches them from falling.
2623  Economy / Economics / Re: I smell Fed pivot on: November 10, 2022, 06:31:57 PM

Like you said Powell will always be a hero to save the day and pay the bill by making the printers brrr again. Free money is free. The When is probably months from now?  He better do it before the discontented public creates chaos and then stop again in 2025.

The drawback is that the other side of the world is threatened by the brrr. If they aren't accepting USD anymore because the BRICS plans to have a gold-back digital currency, US will have tons of bills circulated just in US. You still want Pivot?
2624  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hope this Bitcoin dip won't be deeper? on: November 10, 2022, 10:25:59 AM
Based on recent trend in Bitcoin, this is the worst year in crypto history and the year is not over yet. I was talking to a friend this morning concerning the current crypto trend and guess what? This dude is loosing hope already.

And I don't even know how to encourage myself to invest more in Bitcoin, is it right for me to go ahead and buy the dip ?

Slim chance of this bear continuing upon looking at the monthly chart of BTC/USDT. This dump is just a short hiccup and will just bounce after a week. I speculate the price will go close to $22.000 by Dec or probably even to $24K. But this is just my forecast.

Tell your friend he is not alone. The year looks worse because there is an economic crisis and inflation is adding pain to our expenses.
2625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 10, 2022, 09:47:51 AM
It was said that Stanionis and Ennis will be among the undercard, they will definitely be watching who deserves to fight Spence when he wins against Thurman.

Terrence is to fight Avanesyan by Dec this year. You can view this as a tuneup fight but the organization may also want to confirm if Terrence still has the punching power to defeat Spence. If it's the case, we'll not see Spence vs Crawford until he's near 40.

2626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many chickens own BTC. Don't be a chicken, HODL! The strong hands will win. on: November 10, 2022, 09:09:14 AM
The market dump is scary. The more they'd be afraid if they know nothing about the crypto market and for all we know, they were just hoping to win a hundred USD and get out of the market but if the market crashed, they'd panic.

But the knowledgeable are the ones the first to actually dump particularly those who can predict the price will go down. Those are not chickens but wolves.
2627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are those people that you don't want them to know you are a gambler on: November 10, 2022, 08:48:34 AM
When it comes to gambling, I don't think I can hide it from anyone because am not an addicted gambler.
Gambling is not a bad business because a lot of lives have been changed through the winnings from gambling so as an adult who is up to the age to make personal decisions about what is right and wrong, it is my responsibility to decide how I want to do in regards to my gambling activities. Moreover, all my gambling activities are done online it will be very difficult for anyone around me to dictate that am into gambling unless am always complaining about losing funds which is a normal language of gamblers, especially the addicted ones.

Among the people, I want to hide my gambling activities with are my inlaws. I think we all know the problem with these people when they keep judging eyes staring at you. There are lots of people whom I don't want to know what I do like my kid. There are just people that no matter what explanations you would say, will not understand. It's best that they don't know.

9600 usd with 2% dice (200$ bet)
Sportsbook (watch previus threads)

2% Right on! I can only watch bets and envy those who can afford.

It's not every day is a lucky day. OP has lots of money to spend though. With little optimism the next day he'll be up to betting more to get back his loss.
For a man betting a big amount in casino games like blackjack. A lesson learned for a day can be unlearned the next day since he doesn't have a tight budget.
2629  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FTX Scam : Unable to withdraw on: November 09, 2022, 02:45:56 PM

We're all waiting for updates also but seeing that CZ had said he is to bail out FTX, they may resume withdrawals after the Binance acquisition. But weare not so sure also about this.

When you read FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried removes ‘assets are fine’ flood from Twitter, you will find that FTX does not have assets and hence they deleted the tweet that funds at FTX are safe.
then the founder is really at fault in this. so many withdrawals happened in such a short time. this can make large companies also experience financial problems.
Withholding the withdrawal I think is the only option for them. but this will only cause more panic. FTX looks like it really can be turned off this time around.
Storing assets on an exchange is never safe from risk. many aspects can harm us.

And the TOS is scammy and they are telling that they don't cover cryptocurrency.  There is less chance of your funds being recovered if you hold crypto,

2630  Economy / Speculation / Re: what caused the bitcoin price to drop today? on: November 09, 2022, 06:36:49 AM

Keep updated because the market affects the value of your coins.  You may not be in any way involved in FTX but it's part of the crypto space.

The reaction is overdone but not unknown action we've had big scares similar to this.

And the binance may still have something to do with it. In weeks, a lot of traders are sure positive the bulls are winning and then this happens. Bullish positions must have been liquidated and all because of what CZ did. It's a wild west market still and the futures market takes more when the reaction is overblown.
2631  Economy / Economics / Re: Majority of Americans Back New Stimulus Checks To Combat Inflation on: November 09, 2022, 06:23:22 AM
Yeah right, most "Americans" or rather those who answer that survey, want to be given money for doing nothing. Surprise! If you give me money for doing nothing I'll take it too.

But then those people I do not want to hear them complaining about inflation, as in the end all these measures of public spending what they do is that prices rise more and more, and the purchasing power ends up staying the same or worse than before showering people with that money.

Or the worse which is people may have the stimi checks but have no products to buy since Walmart and other groceries stores have already closed. The supply chain was disrupted globally and products don't reach our shores anymore.

While we stimulus money from the government, we have nothing to buy.  It's like you need to buy a bottle of water to relieve your thirst while you have a bag of gold and are in the middle of a desert.
2632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Would a Nation of Sports Gamblers Look Like? on: November 09, 2022, 05:57:09 AM
When I read article I was surprised to see that it claims sports betting is more problematic than other kinds. I don't see why. Sports betting happens when there are competitions. But you can gamble 7/24 on online casinos. Sports betting takes amount of experience skill, knowing teams to hit a win etc But other kinds of gambling games are mostly very easy and luck based. So easy to hook. I don't agree with argument.

So many sports pickers these days that some of the gamblers don't even know the game, they just bet based on what YouTubers pick for them.

The article actually branches out to different sub-topics about sports betting but it's a very political article that lets every voter see whichever party wins, the winning party will do no different than the other will do, all lies. The same effect and the same thing, sports betting will continue either in the area or online.
2633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Will buy Binance? 🤔 on: November 09, 2022, 05:24:06 AM

FED who else has the power to print a lot of money but the FED. Even if binance will be worth 500T,  the FED will have no problem buying it if it even happens that it needs bailing out.

But I doubt Binance will go belly up, no one kills the one that manipulates the market. The government of China is probably watching Binance all the time waiting, grabbing the data coming from Binance is an asset for any government.
2634  Economy / Economics / Re: Majority of Americans Back New Stimulus Checks To Combat Inflation on: November 08, 2022, 06:15:36 PM
They survey 1500 voters, they should be surveying 1500 economists. But I say go for it, this could be difficult for stimi distribution is like crashing USD value in the past pace but inflation is really hard to fight, countless countries failed. But whenever there are fewer manufacturing companies in the US, the harder it is to fight inflation because of less jobs. It's time to bring companies back up running in US.

The funny thing about stimulus is that only a small fraction of the money actually ends up with the common people.
Scammers will celebrate on hearing this sort of news, more stimulus checks mean more money they can divert by impersonation and stealing the identities of citizens entitled to such benefits to apply for the stimulus packages. To really ensure that Americans get this stimulus checks to assist in this inflation, the authorities will have to do a better job in increasing security and ensuring the process is not easy for scammers to infiltrate.

But this is also a good opportunity for the US to introduce the adoption of the FEDnow for the stimulus package.
2635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who will win, FTX or BINANCE? on: November 08, 2022, 04:19:03 PM
Yep it can't be good for all of us who are holding since it seem like all other coins are falling. In the last 4 hours everybody is dumping.
It is more of who will suffer between CZ, SBF and us, than who will win between them. CZ and SBF are two giants in the crypto industry, the people who will suffer the full effect of this situation will be crypto users like us who may during this time experience a lot of uncertainties in the market. This issue should quickly pass, it is creating a lot of FUD in the market, and it is becoming unhealthy.

But this CZ exposing them will be good for all.  If FTX needs a bailout, Binance will likely be doing it. It will be good for the industry if Binacne takeover FTX. CZ is really nailing them. He knows the business well and might just be able to see who is swimming naked including Alameda. Crazy time and SOL is also affected. Gotta see how genius CZ.

Thank you Smiley

ZKAS tokens will also be for staking and earning from the profit sharing?  It accept Matic?

I once invested in casino token, the frustration is there when it comes to the volume of it because the team will have trouble getting on the big exchanges. This is an ERC that we can only anticipate to be on Swap platforms.
2637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who will win, FTX or BINANCE? on: November 08, 2022, 03:28:19 PM

Yep it can't be good for all of us who are holding since it seem like all other coins are falling. In the last 4 hours everybody is dumping.

But it still feels good to see CZ comes out to expose what they uncover when a huge FTT was deposited on Binance. It is suspicious enough. If the government can regulate which exchanges can postpone withdrawals, they should beable to also see suspicious things going on and be transparent.
2638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can roullete be rigged? on: November 08, 2022, 03:19:32 PM
Of course Roullete can be rigged but I doubt an outsider can do that without being caught. Only the croupier could successfully rig the game in their own way because they know the tricks or table very well.
We all know the casino wants you to always lose no matter how much they let one win, so it is best to just enjoy the thrills of the moment with cash you can lose and time you sure can let go. Otherwise, the thought of winning if it was played like so and not like so , might hunt one for a long time.

That's why the odds are always favoring the casino, they didn't even need to rig the wheel considering that the 0 and 00 will already be making money for them. But croupiers can do it with incentives from casinos is possible.

The thing is that if you caught a casino rigging, you can't do anything about it even if you report it to the police. But if we players get caught, you'd be punished.
2639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you Consider the Price of Bitcoin to be More Important than its Purpose? on: November 07, 2022, 02:39:51 PM
It depend what is your purpose of joining Bitcoin. If you are a investor with no concern for tech. You might think of only money. If you are someone a tech developer associated with bitcoin for quite some time you will measure it by its blockchain efficiency and strength.
However, this is what we are talking about when saying that you sort of need to care about the tech even if you are only an investor. As a tech person you won't need to care about the price because only thing you care about is the tech behind it and if all works perfectly as intended then people could sell it all, who cares, the purpose was to make it work in tech sense and the code works.

But, if you are just an investor, and the tech is wobbly and doesn't work right, that would still hurt you and the price would crash, so you need to care about the tech side as much as the price side, or the purpose as much as possible because all of that also impacts the price.

Although to activist, the qualities of BTC is the most important, they care about the price also.

As more people come into crypto, price becomes important because most are investors and speculators who are trying to accumulate. The price of BTC is the most talked about whenever it's mentioned. BTC is less attractive if the price dives and more talked about on TV when its price also soars to ATH.
2640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The History of Baccarat on: November 07, 2022, 06:12:06 AM
Another history of a game thread. So far the history of this game is more brutal than poker which the cowboys are willing to draw thier guns if they suspect the guy on the other side is cheating. Bacarrat is more like Russian Roulette, you die when you lose.

Where do you get that from? I haven't seen anything indicating that in the article the OP links to. It does talk about a legend that I believe is just that, simply a legend that didn't happen in the real world about:

Quote
It is believed that the Italian game of baccara was based on the old Etruscan legend of a virgin who had to throw a nine-sided die. The result of the throw determined her fate. If she threw an 8 or a 9, then she was elevated to the glory of being a priestess. If she threw a 6 or 7, she was allowed to live but could not take part in any future religious or community events. If she threw lower than 6, she was banished to the sea to drown. Not a nice tale, perhaps, but from it came the initial rules of the card game of baccarat.

But nothing to indicate that the loser died throughout the article.

If she threw lower than 6, she was banished to the sea to drown.
That's dying. Russian Roulette is just a swift death but drowning seem is a painful death. But still, it's death after losing.

Today we still can bet against each player as side bets, especially offline. Not sure if we can do it in crypto casinos.
It is possible if there is a casino that wants to develop it and this will be player versus player or PvP, such as a dice game developed by one of the decentralized casinos into a PvP game.
The story of Bacarrat proves that gambling has been around for a long time, and the games in the casino are an old form of game but still fun to play.

It's usually the decentralized casino that does some innovations but it is however not a popular place for gamblers. Wouldn't having this feature in a popular casino cause more trouble when it comes to players complaining? They'd have to deal with issues where the house is not involved.
