26203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 25% hash rate on one GPU vs other 4? on: April 12, 2017, 06:08:48 PM
I just pieced a rig together with 5 rx 470's (Win 10 System).  I have not modified the bios or done anything with them I just wanted to get it up and running for right now.  I am getting 25 Mh/s on 4 of the cards and only 4 Mh/s on the 5th card.  I have switched the cards around and the risers to make sure that's not the issue... Anyone have any ideas?

this is an alt coin question.

you have the 4mh bug.

move the monitor plug from gpu 1 to 2 to 3  to 4 to 5

boot twice  each time

check and if it goes away stop moving the monitor cable

manual setting is better  auto has a lot more issues in general.

    I set my fan speed to automatic in afterburner. Actually that's the default.

    However fan speed is only 33% and temperature is above 80.

    I want to tell whatever algorithm that arrange fan hi fan, please increase fan speed till temperature is 70 C

    How can I do this.

    use manual  at 75%
    26207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Setting up new rig - mobo is Asrock Fatal1ty Killer Z87 - fails with 3xGPU on: April 12, 2017, 03:30:28 PM
    I already flashed the mobo with latest bios, 1.70.
    I have set the PCIE -16 slots to Gen 1 in BIOS and am able to boot into Win 7 with all 3 cards connected,
    however, OS only sees the two cards in the 16-slots, so it will only mine with those two cards.
    Any other thing I can try?

    start with a riser card alone

    if the riser is good
    if the card is good
    if the cable is good

    the card should post and allow you to plug a monitor in.

    how many  1x slots do you have?

    if you have more then 1 try each one at a time.
    26208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is bitmain selling its new gear at crazy low prices? on: April 12, 2017, 03:26:48 PM
    Maybe their asic boost on these miners will be invalid if segwit goes through and they are trying to push them before it's forced through. Bitmain isn't the people's company and they don't do bargains, something is up.

    Well ltc  has less gear then btc.

    they are able to fully flood the ltc with gear  and they get the money upfront.

    So I think they figure no matter what happens  they got paid.

    I had ltc at 51 usd a coin and watched it fall to   under 6.  LTC  is the only coin that I  lost on.  Well into the thousands  maybe 6 or 7 k loss.

    The ltc market is about to get shaken up just like it did in  2014.

    To all that felt froggy and took a leap I hope you don't get  caught and cooked.
    26209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Correct me if im wrong on: April 12, 2017, 03:22:33 PM
    and to further the next choice if you mined eth on nicehash  and got instant convert to btc do you hold the btc.

    So @ op  looking long term  is not wise    but there are exceptions.

    Lets say you have a super good power price.    0 ,1 ,2 cents per k-watt   allows for the gear to continue to earn  far out into the future.
    26210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Third alt coin thread last two were too big. Builds links thoughts etc on: April 12, 2017, 03:12:48 PM
    Hey Phil  you thinking about selling more gear soon?

    Well I sold a coin to coinbase today.

    I may sell  some rx 480's    maybe  list them after tax season.  Say April 19th  next weds.

    I did get a fourth nvidia card.

    I will have a 2500h 4 card rig  pulling 810 watts  and run it
    26211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Correct me if im wrong on: April 12, 2017, 03:07:39 PM
    So,

    Let's say I have 6 rx 480 mines ETHEREUM at 28 Mh/s. 115w per card total 690w. Cost per KW/h is $0.12.

    Current diff is 259 T. Current Eth price is $44,27.

    Here is the Ethereum difficulty chart(T) with percentages;

    2016;

    May(34) to June(42) ---> +%23
    June(42) to July(55) ---> +%30
    July(55) to Aug(54) ---> -%2
    Aug(54) to Sep(70) ---> +%29
    Sep(70) to Oct(76) ---> +%8,5
    Oct(76) to Nov(73) ---> -%4
    Nov(73) to Dec(70) ---> -%4
    Dec(70) to Jan(79) ---> +%12,8

    2017;

    Jan(79) to Feb(111) ---> +%40
    Feb(111) to Mar(152) ---> +%37
    Mar(152) to Apr(239) ---> +%57

    Now based on this 12 month difficulty chart, I'm predicting %29,66 increase at difficulty every month.

    Here is the monthly revenue chart for my six card;

    Here is my calculation about how much I'm going to make and lose;

    Here is my question comes;

    1- Based on this calculation if I invest total $3.000 for everything, is that mean I will get $1790 net profit for the first year?
    2- Did I included the difficulty in a correct way? Is my calculations right?
    3- Why Ethereum difficulty jumped from 79 to 239 in just three months?

    you only need to understand  that price drives difficulty.

    eth was trading under 10 usd .

    eth is trading over    40 usd.

    so difficulty went upwards.

    All your longterm numbers are a waste of time.

    Since  you have no idea  what coin price will be.

    When trying to figure  if you will make money do not go beyond   60 days.   So you can not possibly accurately predict   long term/

     so see the price change  below.
    26212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is bitmain selling its new gear at crazy low prices? on: April 12, 2017, 02:10:24 PM
    Let's agree that they are not idiots to sell at loss.
    My guess is that they have large number of units ready, with a quick calculation you will find that few thousands units can double the difficulty.
    It could be that they will take lots of orders before shipping large amount at once, they will sell like hot cakes

    Agree

    Which is why I mentioned this and made the thread.

    I have purchased more then 100,000 in gear from bitmain.  So I don't hate them.  But people need to see the risk  in buying this gear.

    Which  to me would be flooded market and a really long ROI.

    Not that bitmain would do this to BTC , but in fact they did do it to BTC when they fought with Sp-Tech with sp20 against s-5.  that fight crashed the price of BTC  down to about 189-190 usd in Jan 2014

    What is your educated guess for ROI with this?

    maybe late fall  early winter say nov  or   dec.

    I don like what I see being done.  This is about  market manipulation via selling lots of miners too cheaply.

    My guess is their cost for a miner is under 500 usd.  so  they are making big bucks on these.

    26214  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Gauging interest: 6 GPU 19" Backplate with direct connected PSU. on: April 12, 2017, 12:35:37 PM
    I'm just gauging interest.

    I have a custom Backplane that

    • fits into 19"
    • can mount up to 6 GPUs
    • powered by plugged in 1500W Plat 94% PSU (no cables between PCB and PSU, direct connected)
    • it has 2x8PINs on the PCB per GPU Slott, to draw extra Power for the external PCIe GPU, close by the GPU - so all cable length are short and identical
    • is connected via USB 3.0 Cables to any 6 Slot Board (like the usual Risers)
    • has the option to connect a picoPSU via Board
    • has the option to remote control via rasperyPi (on/off & Output Wattage mesaured)
    I wonder if others would want such a package and would appreciate some offers via PM. It would include

    * 1500W Plat 94% PSU
    * Backplate
    * USB Cables
    * PCIe external GPU power cables 6x (2x 6+2) splitter cables

    If you are real and legit,  I would offer escrow services  for your product.

    I also offer to test and demo one for you to show that it is legit.

    I would offer you the same deal I offered pandaminer to demo the product.

     That  deal was send it to me upfront ie trust me.
     I do a review  post the review and theb pay for it .
     My discount from them was about 1.3%  30 bucks to be exact.

    the review thread helped to launch their product.

    I have two question about simpleminer OS :

    -is it possible to use different "bats" (custom miner option) for the different rigs in the same dashboard ? or do we have to make different hashboard with different mail address if we want to split between few pools or personnalize settings per rig ?

    -is it possible to read past logs ? because I see a rig sometimes reboot when I'm away, I guess a GPU sometimes hang, but I don't know which one as I'm not in front of it when it occurs.

    as of now multiple emails if you want rigs doing  say eth and zec

    26218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The second batch of PandaMiner B3 Plus Pre-sale coming soon! on: April 12, 2017, 08:00:24 AM
    Quick question:
    How reliable these guys are?
    Is it safe to send them 50% on 50 machines for pre-delivery?
    Does anyone use their hosting?

    So far  them seem okay.

     They made good on first batch.
     They made good on  some if not all of second batch.

    At least 33 of 500 were delivered on second batch as two members mentioned they got 5 and 28 which is 33.

    Second batch of B3 hasn't been delivered yet. I haven't got my five yet.

    I believe dagariar's
    28 were from the first batch

    First batch refers to b1 as far as we know no complaints about getting them

    Second batch refers to b3 as best as I can tell at least 33 where delevered

    Third batch refers to b3.  Not shipped yet

    I believe Dagarair's 28 were from the first batch is wrong and correct.
    His were from batch 2. Of all pandaminer
    His were from batch 1 of b3 pandaminer

    Mostly due to language barrier .

    But they have shipped two batches when you count model b1 and model b3

    They owe 1 batch of b3. Which has not shipped as of now .
    26219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is bitmain selling its new gear at cary low prices? on: April 11, 2017, 10:25:23 PM
    Space

    please  give your best ideas on this.

    The current numbers I used are 5% per jump.
     jumps come fast for ltc  so 5%  is a high number to use.

    This seems to be a market shifting move. On their part.

    My tin foil hat theory is that they are going to start cranking these out every 2-3 months and its going to drive difficulty sky high which will make these prices that seem crazy low now, more sensible later. Alternatively they may be trying to corner market and shut out Innosilicon by undercutting to drive business, maybe these first offerings are a loss leader to drive attention.

    Another alternative is, they may be trying to flood the market with LTC mining hardware to stop Segwit as I believe they are currently against that.

    If Segwit is successful on LTC it's going to drive a huge argument for it to be activated on BTC Chain and Bitmain is against that by itself as they have a specific agreement where they are willing to move forward with Segwit.

    Yep  that bold  line is my guess.
