2641  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin bear market over? on: August 27, 2022, 03:51:45 AM
Cant be over when its looking so jagged as this.

We try to beat the weekly average and fall down through the ground support we had previously, thats pretty severe looking at best.   Seems we have to contend with 20k before reassembling ourselves for future fights.  Still its not the end of the world, we just went in a circle for last month or so and now we're very likely back to repeat that prior low instead of building constructively.   If its a bear it has honey and isnt too mad till stung  Tongue
2642  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countertrading Jim Cramer on Bitcoin on: August 27, 2022, 03:14:56 AM
He is a bit of a weather vane in showing a popular sentiment on many stocks but I think he is exactly trying to achieve that and hence be part of that TV show with its little meme soundboard he has.    Theres no way to exactly do the opposite of him and do well, he isnt that reliable and some of what he says is just buy oil or related companies.
I think to counter Cramer would be to be a contrarian which is definitely a valid strategy.

In 2008 he did say it would blow up, it just wasnt good consistent advice.   Being boring and safe is not his thing, I'm not defending him just across the range of buttons he presses I think he did express the view that there was more then a little trouble in the market (a few people did say  this, March '08 I was reading an article for the Exters triangle take on why September onwards in markets would occur).  If he said failure every day for 6 months it'd be correct but not much of a show, '08 summer there was a good rally so many were buying up.  Cramer is like a stock magic 8 ball
2643  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish VS Bearish on: August 26, 2022, 09:16:23 PM
Todays action reset that whole attempt.   It has to be taken as lower then the late July low now, the only possible reprieve is a quick turnaround before this daily candle closes.  A few hours left I dont think thats going to occur, one for the bears today.
The icing on the cake would be that the 50 day average is now descending not ascending, we are below that level of bullish momentum and it will keep going lower until price action can fight back with greater inertia.
Target downside is 19k, thats probably the expectation in the sights of many traders.

Best bet for OG vs Faze is 3 maps, close enough to go that way.  OG is a serious contender even if 10 ranks behind, bet should clear as valid any time before end of first map most places.   Faze should win but when everyone agrees and they are the standing major winner then the odds and risk vs upset means 3 maps is way more worth it imo though people prefer 'safe bets' only I guess
2645  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of BTC ever hit $40k again? on: August 26, 2022, 04:43:53 AM
The view for the rest of this year rests on moves like Euro weakness and the developing situation in energy supply across Europe.  The reason its such an involved answer is Euro movement ties into Dollar strength which is a weight of sentiment against speculative assets such as BTC.   The lack of energy is so great in Europe that it could mean less business done, overall a restricting force on growth and generally the circulation of currency somehow that ties into BTC progress.   Eventually it will correct but there are big reasons to suspect BTC stages no big recovery for now.
2646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VALORANT Betting on: August 25, 2022, 11:55:19 PM
Just like how Sentinels with Shroud & Tenz lost to literally WHO  Huh in a qualifier lol

Im interested already, sounds like a strategy.  Find a popular team with big recognizable names and bet for the upset with the good odds vs the overly popular favorite.  Thats something I already try to do in CSGO quite often but it is a more consistent game like you say where as Valorent with its full rainbow of spells and possible entries and dodges, anything is possible maybe its more entertaining but its got to be frustrating as a bettor to pin down who can stop all those possibilities.  In CS you just got to be the best aim quite often, Valorent system isnt nearly as dependent on that skill though the quickest reactions are still a big plus.
2647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Employers Screen Applicants for Problem Gambling Before Employment? on: August 25, 2022, 11:03:34 PM

That would be very George Orwellian to have to undergo detection for mind crimes, you could bet alot and it not be a problem.   The main thing employers sometimes do screen for is a credit check perhaps  in some jobs you cannot be in debt or suffering pressure financially because of the problem that might bring with it to your performance.  I know bank employees have to be extra vigilant on debt and be willing only to bank with their employee but in that industry its understandable.   Most firms its none of their business, at most a check on any prior convictions beyond that is paranoid.
2648  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish VS Bearish on: August 25, 2022, 10:28:47 PM
Last 3 tests of the 2 day average have responded positively.  This is only a short term measure but combined with the chance we have of holding the idea of higher lows since the June YTD low its a good chance we can turn this price action back to challenging 25k and 30k beyond that.   Its best not to give up until there is a definitive move either way, at worst we are sideways and drifting rather then actually bearish.
2649  Economy / Economics / Re: Global famine on: August 24, 2022, 11:59:31 PM
Global warming means new areas will be used for growing and old areas no long as useful.  I can see an accelerated rise to fertilizer all the various types as important to establish these new areas, Ive been bullish on commodities overall for a while. We'll probably see demand vs supply ensuring  higher prices for the next decade, weak currency only helps emphasize that effect.
Global warming, war and just a large world population requiring more food production all will equate to higher volatility in markets, we have less agrarian economies so those that do produce must achieve more, global commerce becomes more important when nations become more industrialized.
There are possible break throughs that are not being mentioned, technology has enabled faster better more efficient growth of food.  We have the possibility of bio diesel also, not just the known types of fuel but new production via algae growth; at present these hybrids are too fragile for mass production.
2650  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why there is so much resistance at $23k price on: August 24, 2022, 11:26:21 PM
Generally its a game of patience and the reason it has to be that way is due to the immense pressure of borrowed money, it forces constant cycles from people who cannot hold BTC for more then a certain duration or scenario playing out.   Buyers who must sell are trading a range naturally so thats alot of what we see explored.
Even past that recent negative action its still possible we see a recovery, without doubt it will be slower then if we had held to the trend of higher lows since the June low.  The low in August failed to hold above the (late) July low but only by 500 which is a margin of error in BTC.  Its no where near to the negative situation BTC could be in so I tend to agree its a game back and forth.

Some could argue purely judging the lows we remain intact, I think its certainly slowed but I refuse to call this month as negative action.   50 day MA is flattening, take that as your stall speed perhaps.
2651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play Slots? (long sessions / jumper / focussed) on: August 24, 2022, 10:56:35 PM
The advantage of being online vs an actual physical machine I dont think it matters if you mix and match between games, you dont have to wait exactly for the pay out to trigger as its all being played globally anyway.   Option B as Im not comfortable staying too long on one game but ultimately everyone wants to beat the game so playing the long game of Option A and remembering what happened last play is vital or I wont enjoy just guessing if I will win or not.

I'd like to start my words with congratulating Eternal Fire first.

I like their logo anyway especially in Glitter.   I hope they keep on making more nice stickers :p   not the basis for a sound bet, I dont feel I know them well enough I know theres talent but  one I have to watch mostly for teamwork etc.

In 1 hour Mythic plays, a stream team and again they can be high quality but Im not sure how seriously they take the game.  They will be streaming it for their fans though so its a win either way for them.   I'd guess on the enemy team who are mostly Brazilians but I dont know them, apparently a bit higher rank.

OG over Col
Nip should wreck EG any normal day
G2 BIG   >2.5 maps

EG dont have to be bad, Rush won the major he is not bad certainly.  Sadly they dont mesh well or something, 91 rank difference allegedly

Looking at the BTC price action I'm going to guess we stay boring and stable enough that the FUN price stays on course rather then blips down a range.  I wont bet the farm, just a little guess for fun :p  no reason not, pretty simple bet.    It could also be argued to hedge any drop in price by placing a bet lower, that too seems a fair idea but just that my guess is it wont trigger this time especially.
I think Dollar index did just trend up a bit, such that we're at a twenty year new high so caution is advised anyhow caveat emptor.
2654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet (UPDATE) + fixed match on: August 23, 2022, 12:46:21 PM
The fixed match information is going to end badly.  False confidence and a bet placed with too high an amount for a result that one day doesnt deliver leading OP to lose possibly all his gains.   Fixed matches have to be considered just as high risk and borrowing with money not yours.   I cant see this ending well overall, take money off the table so you dont end up with nothing.   Dont be greedy, simple advice hard to take I guess
2655  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy coins at 17k weeks ago could be the best time to buy on: August 23, 2022, 11:16:03 AM
I think recent action shows why regular buying is often best rather then guessing an exact price point to call the bottom.   The process of being involved rather then pin it down absolutely and claim I bought the lowest price, I sold the highest price you wont get this dream scenario its a mirage.   Just be involved in positive action and take profits on really bubbly price action, you probably have years to do both actions not just once or one price.

If we keep on testing this support continually and market declines you all might get a second chance on buying the lower prices anyway and it'll be hard to decide at that point same as it was last time.

Not sure the end of month FUN bet is so easy this time.   Odds might reflect the risk only partly and we could see price blip down if BTC price slips.  Since the wider market has been rising in recent weeks up 20% from the bottom but could now profit take and come back down then BTC similarly can move.   We can reset back to 19k there about 10% as its already faltered in its trend to rise.    I do think FUN adjusts up some when BTC makes it easier to buy but that effect isnt immediate so betting we stay in the current category and its an easy win, Im not sure about that one this time.
You pay, you risk you might win fair enough, or not.  Another day it stays open, might have to check back for any clue to movements on that one for a 11th hour decision
2657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It For The Money Or For The Sport Or A Clear Exploitations on: August 22, 2022, 09:01:50 PM
The crowd is mainstream and a large part are not otherwise viewers of boxing, its probably to the benefit of boxing to have a widely publicized match that isnt for any actual belt.   I dont see how it could be banned from taking place really, it would be a poor form of censorship if it were.
Fortunately or unfortunately its a modern phenomena, people like the hype even if its purely for show not actual competitive sport; this wont be a one off but I do think trends move on and people get bored of fake.

new iteration will be releasing soon

I would suggest not the latest version if you want as many people as possible to attend and to be able to attend then we want the easiest common base or lowest bar to entry.   I know the games companies want to sell the same game updated every year but strictly speaking its not really needed for people to play and develop any community.
If I spot any F1 car game on offer, even free I'll mention it because I definitely have some copies I've obtained for no charge in the past and then absolutely everyone on the thread can be involved.  Even if people get the game license in their library to use on future hardware then thats a positive.https://youtu.be/FZ8xQ2Qk2nM
Is Monza still the fastest average speed circuit in F1.  I used to play Geoff Crammonds F1 when he was still an active programmer, I think he was the best because to begin he was a physicist who learnt to program
2659  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Game on: August 22, 2022, 03:39:34 AM
The way to think of referrals is adjusting the percentage on games in your favor because some of the game entry is paid for you on this income.  Same with any benefits given by the casino is also a point to include in costs vs returns.

after that first bonus they will stop
Also loyalty bonus but its also dependent how big a customer you are to them, no doubt some are more valued then others but you wont convince me only first time users receive attention from many casinos.
2660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Weakness on Provably-fair system ! on: August 22, 2022, 12:15:05 AM
Reminds me of a Twitch streamer who gained access to the provable fair system because he was the operator of that site apparently, name of PhantomLord.   So he could determine best when the odds of him winning were highest and so make a big deal of it on his stream even though it was all very circular it would help his wins look big.    I dont quite understand how he could use it so easily but obviously having the help of admin on that particular site in real time was a key part of it.   If you wanted a case to look into possible avenues of abuse that'd be the case history known about.
I couldnt immediately find a good source but in the end he sued twitch and won somehow though it was purely nominal only; he is known as a scammer and has not made it back to the top level he was at prior to being discovered in the deception.
