I have one question regarding this FUN poker tournament. If someone wins 2,500+ FUN, and transfers it to freebitco.in, will that count for the Premium Membership?
I believe that still counts, similar to transferring tokens from an exchange to here.

No, it's not extraordinary and I'd say it's not even unexpected that this forum would last this long given how many people use the site to make money. Bitcointalk would probably still exist if there weren't any campaigns or bounties, but I'd bet that there would be much, much less activity here.
That's pretty much the truth. Most (especially without jobs/ experience) are motivated to earn and with bounty campaigns paying quite decently depending on rank, it's a no-brainer once they attain the eligible status. Maybe there are more niche subforums, such as Lending but if Bitcointalk were to further incorporate common topics; latest hardware, travelling, automotive, it would make discussions more interesting, and make signature campaigns more diverse. Not to mention it becomes a more enjoyable place to socialize. However I'm pretty certain there would be hardcore naysayers to this, defending the nature of the whole branding/ Bitcoin cause; Satoshi be rolling in his grave should this happen.

Moderators get notifications of reports via a queue that is very similar to PMs. I don't think many people use this, but it is also possible to get a popup window when you receive a PM. Either of these could be implemented for merit sources.
If I remembered correctly, you can actually do that but I'm fine with PMs within the same window. Less clutter ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I guess I would ask if there are many posts that deserve merit that have little to no merit? If so, the number of sMerit that sources have should be evaluated or the number of sources should be evaluated. I don’t think adding a “plus 1” would add much value. In addition to the potential for abuse I mentioned above. I'm pretty sure there is, that's why we see those Merit GA threads from time to time. Some get drowned among the repetitive replies, and then the local boards though since the exposure is lower. About the +1, I feel it's more of a complementary feature. Think of it as a reaction. Let's say you post a thread on Bitcoin Lightning Network Satosheeesh v69 (just for discussion sake) detailing its new features and how-to. People visit your thread and get intrigued. Since the "Like" reaction is pretty much one-click and "free", they'd be more inclined to react positively. So perhaps like 6 hours later, you revisit it to see 35 likes and 7 Merits thrown in. If the substance is good, it's pretty easy to distinguish it among the rest. Sure, we might see some sockpuppets liking their own posts but all it takes is just several seconds to scan and we can tell if they're BS or not. Automating notifications to merit sources may also be a good idea as was suggested above by Welsh. Sources could set their own criteria as to who they are willing to receive notifications from.
Without setting up Telegram/ PM/ smart watches, notifications would likely be seen in the Epochtalk ʷᵉ ᵐⁱᵍʰᵗ ˢᵉᵉ ⁱᵗ, ʷᵉ ᵐⁱᵍʰᵗ ⁿᵒᵗ. ʰᵒᵖᵉᶠᵘˡˡʸ ᵇⁱᵗᶜᵒⁱⁿ ʷᵒᵘˡᵈ ˢᵗⁱˡˡ ᵇᵉ ʳᵉˡᵉᵛᵃⁿᵗ ᵇʸ ᵗʰᵉⁿ

Hi, long time reader..
I'm impressed that this website has lasted for such a long time. Eleven years! Certainly that time must have passed with occasional drama, not just with Satoshi leaving. It seems like this forum would attract more problems than most. (Although anything interesting and worthwhile attracts trolls these days..) The increase of bitcoin's worth has no doubt helped.
But, how did you do it? How have the mods resolved issues? How have you avoided too many trolls, or kept interest (in moderating) this long?
When there's a legend associated with it, it's hard to die ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Moderating is part and parcel of every forum, so those mods handling those things are nothing out of the ordinary.

Does he have any holdings? probably he gave his private key to one of his family members. Anyway, if he doesn't give it to anyone it's probably one of the lost coins out there. Well rest in peace to McAfee I think it's not a suicide, he tweeted a lot of times that if he killed himself that's not him.
We'll have to wait for the autopsy report. If he was alone in his cell, there's no way he could be somewhat murdered. And that "call" could also be interpreted as "news of his death", and not a phone call. Sometimes people tend to hide messages in their statements. SANT ESTEVE SESROVIRES, Spain — The widow of John McAfee, the British-American tycoon who died in a Spanish prison this week while awaiting extradition to the United States, said Friday that her husband was not suicidal when she last spoke to him hours before he was found dead. “His last words to me were ‘I love you and I will call you in the evening,’” Janice McAfee told reporters outside the Brians 2 penitentiary northwest of Barcelona where she recovered her late husband’s belongings. “Those words are not words of somebody who is suicidal,” she added in her first public remarks since the software entrepreneur’s death on Wednesday. There are actually quite a lot of casinos in the cryptospace that are obviously completely untrustworthy and have a disgusting track record, yet have licenses and drawing people in that way.
This is really well put by OP - licenses mean absolutely zero. Nothing. Nada.
The countries you can get licenses from are so lax with their rules that it's shows you absolutely nothing. And the countries where licenses are strict and actually mean something never hand out licenses to crypto casinos.
There have been plenty of legitimate dice sites without a gaming license too - PD in the early days and JD are good examples.
The reason why more sites opt for license is mainly for potential income off casino games which is increasingly popular and of course, to comply with them regulatory red tapes. Even if a site is legit with its provably fair system, a license helps in case there's some suspicions/ allegations involved. There are actually quite a lot of casinos in the cryptospace that are obviously completely untrustworthy and have a disgusting track record, yet have licenses and drawing people in that way. Just like unscrupulous yet legit business entities, casinos are no different.

Namecheap accept domain used for fraudulent activity, but i'm not sure 5%/day promise is good enough as proof.
Well, anything that sounds too good to be true is definitely one to watch out for. I've come across these kind of sites from ads. Especially one from TRX that promise astronomical returns. No way the business model would be able to sustain itself without bringing in more victims/ suckers. Like the Ponzi scheme. Last time there was a famous forex Ponzi (FX United), similar modus operandi. In the end, it collapsed.

Signature campaign is promotion to increase traffic not to attract new players there are various promotions that new users like, for example:
Sta** offer an initial payout when a team scores a goal within 15 minutes btb** offer 2x higher odds normal odds 2.00 they offer 4.00 Fort*** offers 2 free spins on slot games for every bet on euro matches Spor*** offer free bet and more
While on Betfury I haven't seen any promotions
Actually sig campaigns are meant to both attract new players and bring in more traffic. They are basically paid advertising. Players see the banner, anything that catches their eye will cause them to click and signup. So the casino earns a new customer/ player. Doesn't have to be any promo, but the gimmick matters. Free daily, 24/7 support, you get the picture.

I mean it dropped over nearly 40 cents to under 2 cent right now, how much of a drop did you expected? You imagined it would be $0.0000002 right now? It was 40+ cents, now it is under 2 cents, that is the drop that everyone talks about. I am not saying that BFG is doing horrible, that is what every token that is not insanely hyped does, if you make a token available that has a million users waiting for it, then it will go up, but this drop is exactly like how all others happen and that is not going to change anytime soon.
What I was thinking about however is the fact that we are talking about something that is not really that shocking, because drops happen but this is as big as it gets, let's not act as if this is horrible but let's not act as if this is good, this is neither good nor its any bad it is just what to expect from coins like this overall.
FreeBitcoin's FUN is facing a similar situation so not a surprise there. After all, they are primarily used for on-site benefits and not elsewhere.

I believe it's still too expensive for Curacao license, maybe it's for "master license" holder. AFAIK the casino doesn't have to use a master license, but they can use a sub license. Curacao sub license is so cheap hence many less bonafide online casino can get it rather easily.
Master license mainly applies if the casino plans to issue licenses to its own subsidiaries or related entities. The ones we see would mainly go with sublicense for obvious reasons.

I don't think that John will let His Coins gone in the air, for sure there will be a secondary plan to how this will be kept for His family and friends .
the man is genius so there is no doubt that he will be will ready for whatever he made, specially as he Commit suicide? readiness will be on top of his plan.
Perhaps he could have kept them in his "unhackable" Bitfy wallet? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fcdnv1.500play.com%2Femotes%2Fpeposmug.png&t=663&c=iLoFSh0jzH6AHw)

50% or more discount percent is good to accumulate cheap bitcoin. It is funny when people wanted to have cheaper price to buy bitcoin when the price topped above $60k and now when they have discount, they are not brave enough to accumulate. It is a common psychology of most of people in the market.
I think sub $20k is possible and the bottom can be about $19k. However, bitcoin can reverse any time with price from $24k and sub $20k might never be touched.
Buy it around $24k or $19k and hodl, please don't sell it below $50k.
I believe those people caught the falling knife so they're probably out of funds to enter ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

I guess I'm short of 2 merits from being qualified for the generous offer. But like the local tomatoes seller, no one knows you've goods for sale if you keep quiet without making attempts to draw attention. Thus, l leave my application here ahead. I believe in miracles 🤔.
Worry not, let this Merit serve as a stepping stone for you to achieve greater heights ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Is this real news or another fake? Are there proofs somewhere?
It's official. Just Google his name and you'll see articles about his death. I hope this is not hatred. Whatever he did to crypto, he brought attention to mass people, so his contributions are not negligible. There are doubts about his dead. I hope the truth reveals.
R.I.P McAfee.
It was more of a joke. He actually committed quite a number of publicity stunts only to backtrack later: In July 2017, McAfee predicted on Twitter that the price of a bitcoin would jump to $500,000 within three years, adding: "If not, I will eat my own dick on national television." In July 2019, he predicted a price of $1 million by the end of 2020. In January 2020, he tweeted that his predictions were "a ruse to onboard new users", and that bitcoin had limited potential because it is "an ancient technology." Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McAfeeIs this real? That’s a fuck load of Bitcoin gone forever.
Wikipedia has been updated already. So it’s like 99% probable. I always thought this guy would die like a legend in a brothel drug fuelled sex orgy.
I bet that's probably on his bucket list ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) He had his fun, but I guess his persona got the better of him.

A like system would probably be okay, I don't see any major drawbacks, and maybe as a result of having a like button we will see less users giving merit because they agree with a post. Since, in my opinion a like system is completely different to the current merit system, which sometimes gets treated as the same by certain users.
A like system without limits on the number of likes that can be sent would result in people using sockpuppets giving likes to their alts. Look at this thread, someone has many accounts that were always logged in, why would you think that someone wouldn’t use zero post accounts to give many likes? No doubt that is still abusable, but I think the likes wouldn't carry as much weight as the Merits though. I mean, the person could always use sockpuppets but in the end the BS would still be smelled out by other members sooner or later.
