Pakistan VS Netherland was a serious moral disaster for the Pakistani side. Netherland were not playing with their main squad and still they managed to chase and we're defeated only by 16 runs. Pakistan needs more bowlers like Shaheen Afridi. This team is too much dependent on Babar Azam and Afridi. If one of them is not in the team they crumble very easily.
Although the margin of victory was small, at no point Netherlands looked to be in a position to win the match. Pakistan was playing under unfamiliar conditions, and without their strike bowler. We need to give them credit for winning the match. BTW, despite the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi, I thought that Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf bowled quite well. Mohammad Wasim was also quite good, although he was a bit unlucky not to get more wickets. In the batting department, Fakhar Zaman was amazing once again. The combination of Fakhar Zaman - Babar Azam always works for Pakistan. Just to let you know that Netherland is ranked 15th in ODI ranking and Pakistan is ranked 4th. I expected far better performance from the Pakistani side considering Netherland was were not playing in full strength. If Pakistan would have been playing with the top 5 ODI teams the end result would have been completely different. There is a serious issue with the Pakistani side and the selectors should start working on it. |

Hey as far as I am aware, gambling is illegal in Bangladesh. But how would the Bangladesh government explain that the president of the Bangladesh cricket world was found gambling in a casino? And how is he still president of BBC? lol.. Almost everyone knows that he is still the president of the Bangladesh cricket board because he is quite a powerful individual from the political standpoint of Bangladesh. And there are a lot of people who are actually more deserving of that job. So, tell me how the president of the Bangladesh cricket board gets caught red-handed gambling in casinos and doesn’t get any action taken against him, on the other hand, Shakib Al Hasan is just in contact with a gambler and that got him banned for one year?  Do you have any source of this news? If it is true then this is hypocrisy on the Bangladesh board's part. Political influence and powerful politicians were once a big problem with BCCI and it took a lot of effort to get those politicians and influencers out of the board. In general English pitch are more suitable for pacers. I doubt whether South African spinners will be that effective on those pitch. South African have a good batting depth but they lag it in bowling. On the other hand England has both as proven in previous test match played by them in their homeground earlier this year.
I would also point out the recent trajectory of pitches and ball in last 4 tests in England. Pitches are becoming an absolute road after 2 days of play and less we talk about the balls the better (hope new batch of balls get better). If these 2 factors remains the same then i think chasing won't be that tough in last inning for both teams. I am not someone who goes into technical evaluation. Saying that! Doesn't a test match pitch degrade after the second day? Once you play on the same pitch after two days it will degrade and that is normal. This is where a test playing cricketer, bowler/ batter is evaluated based on the skills. Although the performance of the pitch depends a lot on the field staff on how they make that pitch to make it effective for a any team playing a 5 day match. Interestingly the English grounds and their pitches are far better than those we have in south east asia. I still believe the team that is chasing has a greater chancee of winning a test match. I might be wrong! But if you have stats to pull up then it would be an enlightenment for all of us. |

The third T20 match between New Zealand and West Indies is going to be played tomorrow but it looks like the previous trend will continue. Starting with Bangladesh, India falls in the middle It will end with New Zealand later. I believe that West Indies will lose to New Zealand in the third match. They're a paranoid bunch. The BCCI guys are afraid that other smaller T20 leagues can eat in to the popularity of the IPL. They are fiercely protective of the IPL, because it is their cash cow. They even had problem with some of the state-level leagues such as the Tamil Nadu Premier League and Karnataka Premier league. In case of WIPL, it is going to be a pan-India level league and they have more reasons to worry. But the franchises are not going to oppose, if they are given the rights to the WIPL as well without any additional cost.
They are not a paranoid bunch, if they were they would have destroyed Indian cricket and would not have been able to become the wealthiest cricket board in the world. I also feel that non of the other leagues match IPL in terms of revenue and popularity. I think with the increase in popularity of women's cricket in India they would like to cash it in the same manner they did with men's cricket through IPL and therefore they are going ahead with WIPL. One thing I am sure about is that you will start seeing a lot of women talent because of WIPL which in turn will help Indian women's cricket at the international level and also bring in a lot of sponsorship and a good lifestyle for the women players. |

But in Shakib's case it seems to be the complete opposite. Many people in Bangladesh have made such comments. Because of this, BCB has sometimes warned him through letters. So he should focus on the domestic game. Between Australia, England and South Africa, the players are quite restrained. Moreover, the cricket management team is always free from politics but the Bangladesh Cricket Board is completely dominated and exploited by a particular group. Here only players affiliated with politicians can do whatever they want. Especially if Shakib Al Hasan is going to catch Bangladesh, the backbone player should he involve himself with casino gambling. Here is a point that raises questions in many spectators. Why did Shakib sign a contract with Betwinner despite knowing everything? The simple answer is that he signed a contract with Betwinner's news channel. He thought it would be legal and won't bother him at all. But the situation is completely opposite. So he had to withdraw the contract. Maybe if he had a good relationship with the board he would have got this permission. As per my understanding, any kind of gambling is banned in Bangladesh and I am not sure how this sports betting website approached him as they cannot operate in Bangladesh legally. They will be playing three test matches and lets see how well the South African team performs in these matches.
Nothing is guaranteed as of now. There is no doubt that England is one of the top test teams as of now, but South Africa do have some very good players. Most of their batsmen and spin bowlers are in form. If their pace bowlers can also support them, then there is a good chance of upset. And now coming to England, although they had a good series against New Zealand, some of their vulnerabilities are out in the open. In the pace bowling department, they remain overdependent on James Anderson, and to a some extent also on Stuart Broad. In general English pitch are more suitable for pacers. I guess this happened so fast because of the recent incredible performance of Indian women team in CWG 2022. Otherwise they would have tried to delay the WIPL. Another factor would have been the increase in TV and online viewership of the games played by Indian team. In all it is a very good news for women cricket in india and especially the young girls who are struggling to get selected in the women A team. |

Did anyone noticed that South Africa is currently at the top of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 points table? That may change after the test series between England and South Africa, which is about to start next week. At least on paper, England is stronger. And given the poor form of South African pacers (Nortje, Rabada.etc), I don't think that they will be able to win any of the matches. Their batsmen are in good form though.
Yeah but expect them to go down soon as they have tough away series lined up with 2 inform England and Australia outfits, unless they perform ridiculously well like they already do in Australia most of the time but here against Poms my money is on poms due to their recent success. Having said that Dean Elgar is one of the decorated opener in the modern cricket and some new guys are also chipping for the proteas here n there so it should be a good contest. You are right We knew that Ireland's batting performance was good. The main weakness of their team was their bowling line-up. But in yesterday's match, the top order of Afghanistan was completely destroyed by Ireland's bowlers. Because of this, Afghanistan was badly defeated. Afghanistan players need to bat more responsibly. If Afghanistan's bowlers fail to bowl well in the next match, they will lose the series.
Afghanistan has better bowlers compared to Ireland, but the problem is that their strength is in spin bowling. And the pitches in Ireland (both in Belfast and Dublin) doesn't provide enough support for the spin bowlers. Previously they had some good pacers such as Dawlat Zadran, Hamid Hassan and Shapoor Zadran, but these players have retired from international cricket. The inexperienced players (such as Naveen-ul-Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi) are unable to deliver consistent performances against top teams. Ireland can play spin but the pitch is suitable for pacers I guess. In all Ireland has shown that it can fight & perform well with the big team, which they have shown recently in the concluded matches. Another reason is that Ireland has attained some crucial experience whereas Afghanistan has lacked it as they have not y7et played matches with teams like India and Newzealand. |

Lol BCB is famous for dehumanising their cricket great. Shakib is one of their all time great and considered GOAT but look how they treat him from time to time.
Nowadays new controversy came into light only due to arrogance of management. Shakib signed some deal with Betting platform, betting is banned there. Instead of talking and convincing him they threatened him of canceling his contract from the national team.
Shakib and management both are in fault here, specially the director. IDK the exact reason how it started but every party act like a child every time. Shakib do have some disciplinary issue and on the other hand it seems that director just doesn't like him. ------------- Edit Management won, Shakib dropped the sponsorship deal with the betting company. I am not sure why in the first instance Shakib went for such an advertisement campaign. I am sure he knows the law of his country and those who have been managing his PR should have straight away should have said no to such a campaign. In this situation, I am going to support the board than the player. I am happy that he came back to his senses otherwise he could have been awarded harsh punishment from both government and the board. |

Westindies performance has not been upto the mark in recent times. They were struggling against India earlies and they are now struggling against Newzealand. I hope they do not lose more matches against them otherwise it will demoralize the WI side before the worldcup.
