Probably 0.25 BTC for a 0.1 coin (without shipping and customs)
Imho this is a VERY optimistic guess.
I'd expect them between 0.3 and 0.5 per coin.

Well lets hope you'll be right Wink

Hi coco23,

Can you please go through your numbers again? Because your conclusion and statement make no sense, which is because you didn't read what I posted (but quoted it).

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
You posted the performance of your funds that far (the 26.3% in 2 months) as an indicator for your experience in the reply to Korbman above.

And I say that such a performance wasn't difficult to achieve given the bull market on Btct in the last months.

Hence your performance is no indicator for how good or experienced you are. Not to mention that a timeframe of 2 months is too short for such conclusions anyway.

Just wanted to point that out. There is no central index (like Dow Jones or similar) we could compare your performance with and many newbies might invest money just because of your past performance.
2643  Economy / Securities / Re: [Smidge.Com] - A virtual, actively managed, multi-asset digital currency fund on: July 29, 2013, 06:51:25 PM
Hi,
I haven't read your business plan nor I'm interested in investing, just wanted to comment on this:
I posted this before, but let me sum it up.

I am actively engaged in investing in virtual currency stocks since April 2013. The first security was bought on 2013-05-24 (verifyable on btct.co). There were a total of 18 BTC invested from my own capital. Please note also that I did not start with the whole 18 BTC that I invested, but gradually fed in further BTC (the last 5 on July 10th). On July 21st (launch of Smidge.Com), I was at 24.7212 BTC that I transferred entirely to the fund (see balance sheet "Week 30"). During last week until Sunday, July 28th, I grew this sum 26.30% (see balance sheet "Week 31").
So you were trading from end of May to end of July and you made 26.3%

Unfortunately coinflow.co seems to be down, so I can't access the long term charts, BUT:
In this period of time almost everything went up on Btct.co. The most traded securities like Asicminer (from ~2.5 to now over 4), Basic (should be >+500%) or Cognitive (more than doubled) all increased significantly.

I don't want to question that you might have experience from somewhere else, but I don't see the 26.3% in this time as a good achievement or as a proof of experience.

Any plans for a second round? I'd be interested in a few coins, especially when the 0.1s are available Smiley
2645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Physical Litecoins by the Litecoin Foundation on: July 26, 2013, 04:18:30 PM
Interesting project!

The 1/10th oz silver coins might be too small, its probably better to have at least 1/4th oz or 7.5g like the planned lealana/casascius coins.

Also I'd like to see a non-silver coin (made of nickel or sth silver looking?) nominated with 1 LTC but with a decent size. (Like the 1 BTC Brass coins).
2646  Economy / Goods / Re: ► ► ► [CAP LIFTED] LEALANA PHYSICAL SILVER LITECOINS FOR SALE (1/2 oz & 1 oz) on: July 26, 2013, 11:03:53 AM
I cant believe people are stupid enough to pay that much for these coins, especially when you can make them yourself. And it makes no sense whatsoever to have "original" on the coin, when nothing is trademarked or copyrighted..... a physical scam coin is all it is.
I agree that the coins are expensive. However, if you can make them yourself, why don't you make some and sell them a bit cheaper?

Smoothie offers a high quality & novel product, therefore he can charge whatever he wants. And as long there are no competitors and enough people paying the premium he will continue doing so.
If you don't like it or you find it too expensive, don't buy it!
2647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]Curecoin beta pool test - sign up now - current max only 50 users for beta! on: July 26, 2013, 10:14:04 AM
oh, some balance showed up already. I'll install Globalcoin today to test it Smiley

Is there anything else to do right now apart from running the FaH client? Also what do the stats in the pools page mean? Are there blocks that can be found? or does that refer to WU of FaH?

http://btc.re/?t=miningcalc
0.00001609/Mh * 377Mh/share * 7days * 50%dividend = 0.021

However, we had 2 days at previous difficulty as well.
My calculation put us to 0.0227 for this week...

According to the latest news Cog has 393Gh which is approx 37.7Mhs/share

with your calculation the div should be 0.0023

Is there anything known or any plans for the following:

1) To redeem a coin to see if the private key really is under the sticker? (Maybe people could donate to someone who is willing to do it)

2) To put a coin on ebay/ bitmit/ where ever to see the market decide a price for them?

3) A group buy to lower costs?

2 for 1.15 BTC each
2651  Economy / Goods / Re: ► ► ► [CAP LIFTED] LEALANA PHYSICAL SILVER LITECOINS FOR SALE (1/2 oz & 1 oz) on: July 23, 2013, 01:16:26 PM
Well, the prices are on approximately the same level as the single coins of Casascius.

Why don't you offer bulk purchases (tubes of 10 or 20) and lower the prices there a bit? (Casascius gives a 25-30% discount for the silver-tubes)

2652  Economy / Securities / Re: Stumbled over the amazing TAT.VIRTUALMINE on BitFunder on: July 15, 2013, 10:45:01 AM
Don't get too excited and use a calculator where you can include future difficulty adjustments (e.g. http://www.coinish.com/calc/#)

Or do some research here in the board (look for PMB), there are plenty of threads about it. The price is on that (low? or too high?) level for a reason.
2653  Local / Biete / Re: USB ASIC zu teuer? - Gamble dir einen! on: July 12, 2013, 02:17:27 PM

Warum sollte ich (als Mitspieler) hier 10 Lose kaufen (=1 BTC) und dann nur ne 50% Chance auf den Gewinn haben?
Weil Glücksspiel so läuft?

- Gamble dir einen! on: July 12, 2013, 02:06:05 PM

- Gamble dir einen! on: July 12, 2013, 01:29:32 PM

2658  Economy / Auctions / Re: Casascius Coin w/ error on: July 10, 2013, 10:23:43 AM
I received the coin, Thanks Nightowlace. Everything went smoothly Smiley

Two things to note:
First, I didn't get the coin on the picture, still a series 1 Casascius though with a nice address: 1Ey8uYES Grin, so I'm fine with that.

Second, the front of the coin looks cleaned or polished. Or maybe its just the appearance of the 2011 coins, as this is my first one I can't really tell. However, the 2013 coins look "sharper". From my coin-collecting experience using polish or cleaner is a no-go. I would not recommend anybody to do that just to make the coins more shine.
Anyway, the coin is beautiful, As I'm new to Casascius coins I'm just asking out of curiosity if there's any difference in the coins of the different years Smiley
2659  Economy / Goods / Re: [Group Buy] Casascius Silver 1 or 1/2 Oz Physical Bitcoins (UK/EU/WW) (ORDERED) on: July 08, 2013, 06:25:33 AM
Hi,

Sorry, but please take me out.

I might be interested later though, if you plan to order more Smiley

Also if you order the 1/2s with the old sticker.

Best,

2660  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: July 06, 2013, 04:35:38 PM
I'm still surprised how big the demand for Mining is. Selling gives at least double the dividend (for expected difficulty change), so its price should be at least double that of mining...  Shocked

I think you don't quite understand how this works. It doesn't make sense to compare the dividends. While the value of MINING is based on its dividend payments, the value of SELLING is not.
Depends on the point of view. Eventually, 100% of the asset will be given back as a dividend. So if Selling keeps on giving back more than double the amount than Mining it should be priced accordingly. Let me know if I got sth wring with this thinking.
