2641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kin ICO from Kik on: September 16, 2017, 06:57:35 AM
The main concern I have about the KIN project is the exchange listings, since the project is based in Canada and decided to exclude Canadian citizens from investing in their ICOs makes me believed it falls into security categories and no US exchange will jump to list without studying it very well
2642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has the China ban affected ICO fund raising? on: September 16, 2017, 06:55:07 AM
Some say that the ban will affect many ICO fund raising as much as causing 50% less tokens raised. What do you think?
The banned is going to affect many ico project and currently most of the project from China has a price down over 30%. I think in the long run we would appreciate what Chinese government's regulatory agency are trying to do now as most people even shop are now opening ico up and down to raise capital for business that has no strong foundation.

I do agree with you, the ban has saved some people their life savings, what I see in the space is that most of these people do nothing to research the project they want to invest into, just follow the crowd wisdom which most of the time always wrong. I know the noise is coming back but for now there is sanity and fear in the space
2643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ICO's / Presale should i break my crypto virginity with? on: September 16, 2017, 06:50:57 AM
I am going to recommend Centra, but even if you pick something else, pick one that has a real product that is very close finishing around the ICO.  This decreases the possibility of scam and ensures the team is working hard.  The projects that are 1 year away, who knows if they will ever finish.  So here is my pitch for Centra.

Centra is definitely the next promising ICO!  Something with a real product!
With a crypto debit card, you can use your crypto at any restaurant / store / ATM.  Just swipe your card like any credit card.  Need cash quickly, no problem, just withdraw fiat at a ATM with your crypto!

Tenx and Monaco both had giant 10x+ returns at their peak despite not having a working card.
Now with a real working card and people to promote and use it, just imagine...

ICO is on Sept 19th!  Mayweather is using the card himself and posted it on his Instagram.

This is what is pissing me up with all these new ICO s coming to the market, how can a jack that knows nothing about your project be promoting it to me, He has promoted more than 2 other ICOs already.

When you put ICOs ahead of development the project is heading for disaster
2644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Planned Chrome Extension on: September 16, 2017, 06:47:03 AM
Hi folks, would love your input.

We're thinking of doing a Chrome extension that helps blacklist scam websites and ICOs via a community moderated list.

What do you think, worth it?

But the way you put it, it will be subjective, what of if one Billionaire is part of you list and want Bitcoin to be called a scam and blacklist it has a scam.

There is no way to come up with objective variables to use, what people can do is to be well informed on how to differentiate between good and bad projects
2645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tezos: A Self-Amending Crypto-Ledger on: September 16, 2017, 06:44:13 AM
Not really no. I feel like everyone has this backwards. If this were stock in a company, the price of the stock is directly related to the value of the company (how much it has in assets).

Tezos is the opposite of the majority of these ICO's, the money isn't just handed out to the team who created the whitepaper, it is managed as funds for the network by a non-profit organization. You can think of the tokens as being directly backed by these funds in a way.

For most ICO's particularly all the ERC-20 garbage as of late, it's not that. They take your money, put it in their bank accounts and give you something useless in return.

And don't forget these area all micro-cap investments anyway. Linkedin the website was bought for 26 BILLION. Even at 200 Million for Tezos, it's just a tiny tiny marketcap with decent financial backing. Other projects are tiny marketcaps with tiny financial backing!

Look at Ripple or Bancor. It stays low level due to huge market cap.

No, Bancor was a classic example of everything that is wrong with the garbage ERC-20 tokens. It was just a bad unworkable idea with nothing actually behind it. I think I recall 40 lines of code was behind the poorly conceived idea http://hackingdistributed.com/2017/06/19/bancor-is-flawed/

Tezos was in the works back in 2014 (code wise) and conceptually prior to even that. It has a tremendous code base and a large development team. A 200 million or 2 Billion of even 200 Billion market cap for a global system of currency will look like nothing.

Part of me is just thrilled that folks in this space can somehow think Tezos and these other projects are even in the same universe! That confusion might allow me to invest a decent amount into it before it blows up.

most of the people here dont have any clue about what they are investing in. I wrote in Bancor thread weeks before the ICO that this "business idea" makes no sense. Also Bancor is just an idea of an app on top of ETH. Comparing this with tezos is jsut insane. tezos is a complete new blockchain / ecosystem/ with a (small) potential to be a game changer aka bitcoin and/or eth killer

ripple had huge gains this year. it makes sense that it can not gain more now. Also there is no real usage of ripple until now

Truly said!! Comparing tezos with other ERC20 tokens or ripple makes no sense. Tezos has different purpose, whereas ripple has nothing.

I think it is very easy for you guys to go bashing ERC20 tokens, but Ethereum has made ICOs possible, I'm waiting for Tezo platform to release their own platform because all what the team promised is just in theory, it will be good to evaluate the first dapp coming up on Tezo

With the  CHinese exchanges ban confirmed I expect a new air to be breathe into the space, the uncertainties from CHina has presented a very good buy opportunities for good traders to make money

What I don't understand here is that alot of the tokens have been sent to the ICO address, this should create an increase in demand but instead of the price moving up the price is moving down.
2648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]Artemine- First Self Mining Smart Contract 2.0 - ICO LIVE - 400% BONUS on: September 15, 2017, 05:56:13 AM

SO THE WHOLE US CITIZEN THING IS MORE FOR LEGAL REASONS ON THEIR END CORRECT?

THEY ARE NOT ACTUALLY CHECKING TO SEE IF YOU ARE OR ARE NOT A US CITIZEN RIGHT?

ASKING FOR A FRIEND ...
yes you're right, it's not possible to see if you are sending minereum from the USA or zimbabwe or whatever, friendo
it's for legal reasons only

I don't think the team can do much about where their investors is from, unless they will be blocking VPN users too from participating in their ICO. There are alot of good VPN that one can use to evade any country ban
2649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] [NaPoleonX] 1st 🌟French🌟 algorithmic crypto asset manager 🚀 on: September 15, 2017, 05:53:01 AM
I have not seen much from French community when its comes to Crypto, RLC has been underperforming in my own opinion, I know NapoleonX team has been on this project for some time but I hope they will be more engaging in recent weeks
2650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what crypto to buy with ten million? on: September 15, 2017, 05:47:26 AM
One project I will go for is Rialto, a very good project that seems market is undervaluing, no matter the direction which the market goes, the team makes money and this is the type of project you want to be part of
2651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Most Cryptocurrencies Doomed to Collapse — because they’re “ICO-issued”? on: September 15, 2017, 05:43:28 AM
If fund flow move out, the value of all cryptocurrency is droped too

I'm disappointed to see proof-of-work issued tokens declining along with ICO issued tokens. But I think this might be a short-term aberration as China has apparently threatened to close all exchanges even for Bitcoin.

But I think it is impossible that China will remove themselves from the cryptocurrency markets. They will shoot themselves and their high tech economy in the foot if they do so. Japan and South Korea have fast growing exchanges. Let China leave and let the door hit them in the ass on the way out. Yet I think China will not. Just rumors that will end up being not true.

But ICO issued tokens are eventually doomed. Not sure how many months or years until they are clearly doomed though.
China just want to make a bluff of it.. I dont think peoples in china will stop buying and selling crypto. Who cares about china. Not like china own this crypto market. With this strong community. i believe with or not china in crypto doesnt make crypto world destroy. For me it just more a rumor then a true fact. who can stop peoples from buying crypto? Just think.

I tthink China recent ICO ban is a good thing for the space long term, because there is no way you can totally ban all the crypto community, and that means those that are now interested will be buying at premium prices
2652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying Tether USDT when everything go down... what do you think? on: September 15, 2017, 05:40:23 AM
I think yesterday was too late to be selling. The idea is to sell the highs, so that was 2 weeks ago. Now looks like a good spot to start buying back in, buy the lows don't sell them.

That is the problem with most of this newbies, they always do the opposite of what a goof trader should do, I think this is the time to start buying not selling, alot of panic sell in the space now, I still believe we will have another bull run before the year runs out
2653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kyber ICO on: September 15, 2017, 05:38:00 AM
I think the uncertainties in the space is indeed affecting the market, I don't know how this is going to affect the Kyber ICO, but I have a feeling it is not going to be the quick sale that we use to have.

The team keep exposing their incompetencies with the way they are going about things, I believe by now thing should have improved greatly, the dividends to me is wrong the way the team are going about it, is either they don't want token holders to get their dividends or that the team don't have solid developer to write right code. Taas did theirs and went very well with users doing almost nothing expect to have their tokens in their wallet

The team is trying to identify which wallet are still active and are able to claim dividends. If someone did forget to claim dividends, I guess they can assume the owner has already forgotten his private key and could not claim anything - I wonder where those ETH supposedly a dividend will belong to.

The team must set it up like TAAS did, that we need not to claim but sent automatically.

It is not the team business to know if one account is active or not, some people have not moved their Ethereum tokens even after ICOs, once the account is holding ETBS tokens it deserves to be paid dividends.

But why are they requiring private keys to claim dividends, if they intend to send dividends, they can set it to sent automatically without the need to private keys which is a security threat for us holders. People with bad intentions can take this as an opportunity to take our ETBS and the tokens in our MEW if we will be required to send out private keys every now and then. PRIVATE KEYS - its not normal to show it if you are just conscious.
I guess there is no risk on that because you are still transacting inside "https://myetherwallet.com/".
If others were successful in claiming the dividends then I believe they don't see any risk before performing the actions.
Even thought it's seems save because we are doing it on MEW, but still, why they need our private keys to claim the dividen? We know if private key is the very important thing in any wallet, and we are the only one who must know our private key.
Bittrafic has very good point, ETBS dev should give a explanation why people need to insert their private key to claim dividen

With that in mind, I have considered moving my ETBS to another wallet every time I will claim dividends because of this security threat. I recently received my dividend but not after a second, I moved my ETBS to another wallet to avoid being hacked. There are several cases of these already, I suggest you do the same if you wouldn't want to lose thousands of $.
Good if you only have ETBs token on that address, but what of if you have many tokens inside are you going to move all the tokens also to new address each time
2656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: September 07, 2017, 07:33:55 AM
BNT leads all of us lose money!

For now yes, the hype and greed of the team is affecting the project and the price has suffered greatly, I don't think there would have been any thing they can do, they can't even support the floor price that was promised during their ICO in relative to Ethereum price
2657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: September 07, 2017, 07:30:50 AM
Well, it s about time to see this one go up at least 3x. These people have been working really hard, the idea s great, there is huge market for this, they have been providing detailed and regular updates. All in all, I see no weakness in this project. Why this one is not $2 per token yet, beats me!
The price hit 22ksat before the recent dump, so I think it should test the ATH again after this accumulation phase. The incoming OMG token distribution should also help to drive  the price up
2658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: September 05, 2017, 08:37:23 AM
I think by now it is better to be objective with our comment, Golem by now is way ahead of SONM, I'm SONM token holders and have increased my position significantly during the dump but the team has shown little to proof they really understand the business side of their business
2659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRE-ICO] Graft - credit card and crypto payment processing network on: September 05, 2017, 08:33:07 AM
I have not read ant statement from the team in reaction to the recent SEC and different governments stances on ICOs, because some of the Chinese ICO projects have put out statements on refunding on investors fund

With several Government now going against ICO project, I can see the space going back to the genesis, Airdrop and mining project will likely take over again and this project could be one of the first successful non-ICO project on Ethereum Platform
