There is quite little difference between 21 BTC (200$ - 400$ on Sep / Oct prices) and forum posts amount.

That's because there has been a hell of a lot development and implementation since the initial creation of the block. It's called "capital appreciation," or "sweat equity," and it means that the value of the product is increasing because it is becoming a more robust product through the efforts of developers, who are augmenting the functionality, as well as marketers, and various other support people and mechanisms.

Well then,  all that 'sweat equity' will translate also to NEX then!

this is like inception to me

How so?
2663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT on: January 19, 2014, 05:55:29 AM
People paid for their NXT.  That was fair.

With Nex, anyone can create multitudes of accounts and get more Nex.  Don't tell me that you're going to base distribution on account history either.  Anyone that knows anything about this forum, knows that there are many accounts with long histories that are controlled by ONE person.  Also accounts are bought and sold routinely.

I'm sure the OP controls many accounts with long histories and will claim the majority of the NEX for himself if he gets people to support his scam.

Someone is working on the distribution algorithm.  We'll make sure its fair,  and we won't abruptly cut it off like the greedy folks of Nxt.
2664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT on: January 19, 2014, 05:53:23 AM
I don't understand. Why is it more fair to distribute this coin to people who happened to see this thread and post on it, who didn't do any work, didn't spend any money (fiat, BTC, etc.), or take any risk?

Do you actually believe that the majority of NXT initial holders paid even a single satoshi to own their millions of shares?

2665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT on: January 19, 2014, 05:30:59 AM
I always like it when someone claims they are doing something for the benefit of others, when really it only benefits themselves.

If he was a true believer, he would support Nxt instead of wasting his time and others with his trivial clone.  He is only doing this for his own financial gain.  He is not interested in helping you.  He is only doing this to help himself.  He has to steal the words of others, because he doesn't have any beliefs of his own; except the belief that he should profit at the detriment of others.

If we expect to free ourselves from economic oppression, we must work together for a common purpose.

He may be able to copy code, but he can't copy motivations and intent.

The owners of a free currency deserve a fair and free distribution!

So your currency will never have any value?

Tell that to the guy who bought a pizza for 10,000 BTC.

word of advise: if you dont want this coin to be ruled by the give away thread spammers, weight the giveaways by activity * average_post_length. Then do a quick check of their post history to make sure they pass the turing test.

okay... I leave it to you to design a fair distribution.

If i do a ton of math to figure out how to weight it effectively for fair distribution (which i think i have a pretty good idea how to do) than i would need to know that there was some able programmer who was actually dedicated to keeping the code maintained.

You don't need a programmer for this.

All you need is the formula and a spreadsheet!

I'm not sure why folks are so hung up on c/c++. The choice of Java (and indirectly the JVM) opens some very interesting possibilities. I've been thinking a lot about what an implementation NXT in Scala with Akka would look like and steal some ideas from Spark. The amazing part is to just extract the algorithmic stuff (BCNext secret sauce) into a standalone Java class then import that into a new environment to handle the networking/protocol piece and provide a framework for extending NXT directly by writing plugins that run on the JVM.

Consider NEX - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422052

NXT implemented on top of Akka.

ok....  you are now officially promoted to 'chief architect'

I am genuine, and I say to FrictionlessCoin, you always have the option to merge GetVisaCoin in with NEX, and take it over. You can call it NEX and we drop GetVisaCoin all together.

I am not a developer, so it makes sense for NEX to incorporate the goals of GetVisaCoin rather than the other way around.

If you are serious about NEX, then please consider merging with GetVisaCoin.

Well if you want to spend 5 BTC promoting NEX and dropping whatever you are doing... then you are welcome to spend on NEX!

Excellent! I'm assuming you read the GetVisaCoin announcement and understand both sides of this coin.

1- Offer half the stolen VisaCoin funds to a bounty hunter to catch VisaCoin
2- Use the other half of the recovered VisaCoin funds to develop a new coin

The new coin will be called NEX, and GetVisaCoin is no more.

-First step is encouraging honest hackers in China to catch VisaCoin!
-Then create the NEX genesis account from the VisaCoin victims AND the new people.
-Then start NEX

I don't know how you can offer funds that have already been stolen.

I don't know how you can use funds that have been stolen.

Who are the Visacoin victims?  Is there a list?

I will be honest with you,  those BTC that were sent is likely gone forever.

For those who were victimized,  let them know about NEX and I may be able to help you guys out.

I post on page 1000 from dairy queen, go back to the hotel, get up at zero dark thirty to go to the airport and spend the day in threee different jets getting home, check this thread, and 55 pages later everything is total bat crap crazy.

Hell yeah on getting listed at last on a first tier exchange and a 100 % price rise.

But this latest "somebody got my NXT" has pegged my paranoia needle again.  As far as I am concerned we have yet to get to the bottom of a single incident here even tho we tarred and feathered EpicThomas.  Something is STILL going on and it is bad.

I will say this again and again until I get Dev concurrence.  WE NEED TO IMPLEMENT AN OPTION TO ISSUE AN ACCOUNT FREEZE CODE BLOCKING OUTGOING NXT TRANSFERS THAT GETS CARRIED ALONG IN THE BLOCKCHAIN AS A MESSAGE UNTIL RESCENDED BY THE ACCOUNT OWNER VIA A SECOND DIFFERENT PASSWORD.

More later I gotta unpack and get caught up at home after being gone two weeks.  GO NXT!!!

Interested, but weren't there intentional bugs built into the version of Source Code of NXT that was made public?

We realize that NXT despite their claims is not 'open source'.

Therefore, we are taking the decompiled latest version... making it bigger, stronger, faster!

Huh?  You mean to tell me,  someone attempted a NXT clone and got 130 BTC in donations???

NEX to the MOON!

2678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT on: January 19, 2014, 03:15:54 AM
Awesome free NEX.  How will updates and development be paid for if all the coins will be given away for free or are you keeping some % for yourself?  That might be considered a pre-mine scam but I'm certain you wouldn't do that.

Oh...  I forgot....

I express interest in this coin.

There you have it... I get enough coin for development!
2679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT on: January 19, 2014, 02:18:21 AM
This looks like a very interesting project and I look forward to seeing how things turn out, I'd like to become an early adopter but also have a couple of constructive criticisms that I hope you'll take on board in order for this project to succeed.

1) I believe the name NEX should be changed to simply NX, notice in the latter a little bit less photo shop time is needed to copy and change the nxt video's/infomercials, time that you could better spend watching daytime TV with your mum.

2) A lot of critics of this project are saying that you are a degenerate, halfwitted troll with sand in your virgina and are simply starting this project because you have nothing better to do then express your butthurt at not getting in on Nxt a couple of months ago. What about setting aside some of the coins to pay for a decent PR guy that can steer us away from such claims?

3) BBB, Bullshit Baffles Brains. As you don't have the technological capability to even copy source parts of NXT let alone fulfill any of the features why limit the dream. Could you please add to the List of features in the op ABT (autonomous business thing) and AIC (artificially intelligent chain). We can let the PR guy's explain these features later but should attract a bit more interest.

Did you not read the original post?  The part on the improvements to NXT?
2680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT on: January 19, 2014, 02:16:05 AM
Hey frictionless, when is the genesis block? Shouldn't we go to the market as soon as possible ?

Nxt doesn't have a genesis block,  only a initial distribution of coins.   So we got to wait until people express interest.

We don't want to cut short the distribution to abruptly.  That was really a bad move by the originators of NXT.

No I don't want all the beggars who contribute nothing have all the coins. How about I send you 10$ I take 200 million NEX and we have a genesis block tomorrow?

Dude.... by offering a bribe... you are automatically disqualified!!

No 1 million NEX for you.
