2661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: March 11, 2023, 02:26:10 PM
Arsenal taking the first lead of the match and ending up playing a 2-2 draw wasn't impressive, considering their performance in their last few premier league games, especially the Saturday game. I thought they would win sporting but sporting gave them a tough time, Arsenal was lucky, if they lost the game their return leg won't be assured that they'll survive it. Hence, I'd assume they were exhausted from few days match gaps that's given to them, they just finished playing premier league on Saturday and yesterday Europa. Regardless of scores I enjoy watching Arsenal games they spice up football and it's the reason I love watching Arsenal games. Let's look out to the outcome of the second leg.
For Arsenal, this is a good result, two goals scored away, and a draw is an acceptable result, after all, Sporting were participants in the group stage of the Champions League. There will be support from the fans in London, this will add strength to Arsenal, besides, they play better at home, so I think that they will have more chances to win.

Arsenal can't be predicted, hence the 2:2 draw wasn't actually earned, considering the own goal from the sporting side. Arsenal sometimes finds it difficult to score in some games that doesn't fit into their playing tactics. All Arsenal needs is to strike other than playing sweet football, though that's why I watch them, but for them to win, more goals are needed. And they need to play Saka till the end of the game, to maintain his wing, which will help Arsenal team not to lose out any opportunity that'll lead to goal.
2662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto related jobs on: March 11, 2023, 02:05:58 PM
First and foremost, the reason why I posted this here is to provoke discussion as intended for this board.

Next is because I want to know the opinions of other members here on this forum or if they knew something outside of this forum related to crypto. As a matter of fact, it's true that there're so many crypto related jobs outside of this forum, but as much as I know that here in this forum you are prohibited on promoting shady sites right? so you should also know better that one of the reliable sources of information should be here.

Third one is, if I wanted to find job shouldn't I just post it on the services section? If I wanted to, I could just google it all the way, but the question is, "is it reliable?"

Ask yourself, why these gambling companies spend so much money weekly on signature campaigns? they are looking for jobs; clienteles. The internet of today is about growth. Many people work as VAs to make some funds to sponsor their project or job search campaign. Haven't you seen job seekers that launch a landing page for the sake of getting hired? they run ads on google to get their target audience. You mustn't depend alone on the forum to get cryptocurrency related jobs. Quite correct, they are jobs on the service section, but these people who tend to hire you knows the market price per week for some tasks. Compared to those you get on google ads who don't know much about the cryptocurrency market, all they need is solution and they pay you handsomely. Quora is a good place to get such clients, always look out for places where they're a huge variety of people not just marketers. Get your audience there and move on. What matters is the quality of your service. For instance, getting a community moderator job on this forum is averaged at $50 per week but, that'll be far better when you get the job through google ads launched by you; working directly with the source, or joining startups.
2663  Other / Meta / Re: Whoops out of smerit. Should there be a way to buy some from theymos? on: March 11, 2023, 01:33:20 PM
Idea 1: Adjust sMerit per merit based on user rank from the time it is integrated forward. For example:

Legendary: Receives 2 sMerit per Merit received
That would introduce exponential growth, and old Legendary account farmers would have unlimited sMerit to farm more accounts. Basically, the Merit system would become worthless.

Let's say for arguments sake that it becomes 1 : 1 for legendary members only going forward from the change. Would it really mean unlimited sMerit for "account farmers"? Won't these members still need to actually acquire the merit in order to farm more accounts?

Having a 1:1 ratio would be 1 merit per a merit received, If you get loyce correctly, I think the account farmers already have some sMerits in possession due to their legitimate activities in the forum. Hence if they decide to disseminate 100 merits amongst the legendary accounts in the farm they'll never run out of merits, it'll definitely get useless for Legendary accounts. For instance, 10 legendary accounts managed by one member who has 100 smerits can easily share those merits amongst account 1 that'll receive 100 sMerits for receiving 100merits then it'll forward to account 2 that'll receive same number of sMerits for receiving 100 merits and so on. If the merits keeps circulating amongst their legendary accounts they can boost the number of merits to any amount they wish by meriting themselves for 100 sMerits. The only way the sMerits they own would depreciate is when the farmer tends to build a new account to full member by gradually sending the 100 merits to the new account that'll in turn get 50 sMerits then it reduces down till the new account now realizes about 195 merits; new account receives 50 smerits for 100 merits, then 25 smerits for 50 merits, 12.5 smerits for 25 merits and till it fades, as the legendary account receives the same amount of smerits per Merit sent to them by the new account.  That'll be an abuse, though such activities can be tracked, but they shouldn't be a room for that.
2664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: March 10, 2023, 11:06:47 AM
Arsenal almost lose to sporting, they now have to prove themselves at the Emirates stadium. I'm sure Arsenal will win and qualify to the next stage.
Manchester United did better yesterday, defeating Real Betis by 4:1. It was a good result to recover from their disgrace last weekend. Manchester United will also go away and defeat Real Betis in the  second leg.

They didn't lose the got a 2-2 result against Sporting, however, this is more like a loss to Arsenal to get this result in a game with Sporting when they are currently the first team in the premier league while I think Arsenal performed very well and they deserved victory in this game while they had even much more control over the game and Sporting mostly used a few counter-attacks in this game to score two goals.

2665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you Bet on a Fight that is Scripted? on: March 10, 2023, 10:54:20 AM
It is something same as the fixed match. Why to spend on something that is being already planned and the outcome is decided. I never prefer such kind of bets. Even to watch those matches were I feel bad, because over exaggeration takes place. In no time results change.

In the past we had the SmackDown and Raw, now the same is happening in the name of different names. I'm not sure whether all these are same or different. However the importance of have got over the real fight is nil.

if you know that it is only scripted, the thrill on betting is the fact that the audience doesn't know the outcome of the match. but we don't know if the people behind it are taking advantage of knowing what the results are. they can easily relay it to one of their friends or colleagues so they can place a bet. who knows right?

Adding to what n0nce said, football is not scripted, but fixed match exists in football. What more is expected of a scripted game assuring players and audiences that they won't leak the outcome of the game. It's not possible, if gambling shifts to WWE and yields a plethora of high roller players they won't have any option other than revealing the hidden results to top stakers for more profits. Using Soccer as an example, I can't get convinced about their promises. It's funny.
2666  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin fall below $20000 , it's a messy thread. on: March 10, 2023, 10:41:05 AM
But any movement below 20000 dollars will create some panic that may pull the price below 15,000 dollars, which is not good for businesses and investments in cryptocurrency.
Yes, it's time to accumulate, but how about those that has accumulated and waiting for a rise.
I also expect $20K to be strong support, however a drop to lower support is also likely to be expected.
Now it's worth holding on and don't panic, take some more honey in weak hands and let's see what happens after. I'll try to do the accumulation as best I can, this seems like the right time.

It's a good time for the accumulators and tough moment for those who have accumulated. I feel bad seeing my assets dropping real quick, though I know it'll bounce back to normal, but I may not be convinced to accumulate now. Looking at the fast paced drop in price, bitcoin would go below 18k like before, then accumulation would be a better idea to balance losses. Lots of users would sell during this period and it'll affect the price negatively. Hoping to see a bounce back soon.
2667  Economy / Gambling / Re: they are scamming us? on: March 09, 2023, 09:34:34 PM
I think op is just giving an opinion here about what he felt about some of the many casinos that we are using and we might not be aware of what is going on and how they might to cheating. This is time for many of us to be prepared and asking questions about some of the bugs some insincere casinos are having.

I have seen some gamblers complaining about some sites they are using and they keep making losing with knowing the cause. This could be real that is why we need to make sure that we are using a reputable casinos that are well to do.

Aside the provably fair and a casino being reputable it's not hidden that casinos are taking profits from gamblers. Every player needs to choose wisely the machine that has the payback percentage that'll suit their bankroll, because that's where the con starts. On the long run players still lose, so it's not a surprise thing if the provably fair feature is been manipulated by some casinos. Come to think of it, any casino that boldly writes on their terms and conditions “No Provably fair" would gain lesser customers. So, I think some of the casinos add provably fair on site without having such feature. Between not everyone can check or confirm these features. It's good to use reputable casinos like you said, but it's better to know these techniques and study how slot machines work. That will enable easy swapping of casinos whenever they begin to get shady.
2668  Economy / Gambling / Re: What if bitcointalk creates a casino review and ratings board for members. on: March 09, 2023, 09:11:50 PM
This could also lead to some people posting their experiences in the ann thread and others in the review and ratings board. Then it would make it harder to find accurate information about a casino in one place.  Smiley

Given time they'll learn to post on the review board if it's made available. The Ann thread is good, but it's always filled with generalized discussions not specific to the casino. For instance, I've seen some Ann threads with responses about KYC in general other than discussing on the features of the casino. Picturing how Op's proposal would look like if implemented still distills down to a board where cryptocurrency casinos would be listed on and reputable gamblers who have used the casino can discuss and advise people about the casino. People can put their complaint there and get answers easily. Other users can use the board as a place to determine a quality casino to stake on. Haven't you seen casino complaint scattered around the forum; Ann, gambling discussion, scam accusations section. Such a review board can accommodate all the threads regarding gambling complaints and reviews. Then the ANN thread can be focused on announcements.

2670  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: March 08, 2023, 05:42:08 PM
Cost of living is becoming too much and it's almost impossible to extract the middle class from the poor. The cost of petroleum is getting higher than before, inflation is at the top, unemployment increases everyday. Citizens don't get enough care from the Government, prices of commodities are not being regulated in some countries, which helps vendors to skyrocket prices of goods and services without reducing prices even when it drops. Most nation's are being manipulated by both the Government and citizens who work for them to suppress the poor masses. In all these challenges, what matters is to be alive, that's the purpose of living. And always think of getting a decent skill that'll solve some of these problems sorrounding the world.
2671  Bitcoin / Mining / Will the Minning bill passed by Missouri be impactful? on: March 08, 2023, 11:19:27 AM
I see joy amongst some users in different cryptocurrency communities who think that the bill passed by Missouri Government to protect minners would impact on the market to get bullish. Aside New York that purged out crypto mining activities, is it necessary to fight for a bill as Satoshi act fund did? As people can still mine in other states without being noticed or penalized until they're asked to leave the state. The new bill was voted 12-0 in favor of bitcoin and miners can pay equivalent amount of money that other companies pay on Electricity bills, which is an advantage to the miners. But, I'm curious about why all the Government officials supported this bill; 12:0. Are they getting interested in mining activities?

2672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Consistency But don't give up. on: March 08, 2023, 10:16:55 AM
Consistency is key as you said; but there are sometimes different views to that... it could be really unprofitable yeah? Cus what's the point of doing the same thing over and over again with the same results? (Which ain't even better off and, majorly the reasons why you keep trying is because you need a change?)? You see the point??
Sometimes, it's also advisable to be less sentimental on issues that ain't really ascertained; yeah,? As long as you're into something and all you've got is "hope" to continue, then you have to diversify several means to make it work,...one of them could be attaching a different perspective of understanding to what you're doing....

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

Your response is summarized around pessimists; People who are consistent, but don't diversify their idea because they're scared it won't work. They may not gain much productive on the long run. Posting on the forum as an example; sticking to a board and consistently responding on people's posts may not yield enough exposure, as Op pointed, compared to diversifying into creating quality threads on different boards. Having different concepts of contents would interest readers to argue more or interact on the thread, which will help the OP to continue sharing new ideas, but if a post doesn't get enough responses that'll clear the OP's doubt s/he may not have the zeal to post again on the forum. Especially members that has a single pattern of threads.
2673  Economy / Economics / Re: The Biggest Financial Regrets on: March 08, 2023, 09:35:33 AM
No matter how early, it's always too late to regret. The problem with many people is not that they lost an opportunity, they don't know themselves. What matters is knowing thyself then life will be easier. Why is it always difficult for some people to keep the same opportunity working even when it's available. Many early birds still lost their businesses. In life not making a mistake won't be possible, we can't see all aspect of a business, they is always someone elsewhere who sees the opportunity more than we do unless we move out of our comfort zone. Until then people can't see clearly what they want to invest into; time and money. Many married men made it while they got married, don't know if the Godfather story is non fiction or fiction, but Don Corleone made his fortunes as a father; 2 kids and a wife. If I'm not distracted then I can achieve anything I want in life, my only regret is being distracted by some things that never mattered to my career and not putting lots of time in my skills.
2674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling using chip in money? on: March 08, 2023, 08:54:08 AM
It depends on the relationship of the players, trust determines it all, Adin seems to be coaching his friend on gambling that's why he can play his card with all comfort from his friend and himself. Imagine couples who are gamblers, they can play with each others money whenever they wish. In gambling winning and losing always come in place and who wins or loss doesn't matter; if my friend lose out with my money it's seen as fun because that's the game. Didn't watch the video though, but I could imagine the curiosity in the faces of the players not to lose out their winnings. And the immense fun of winning.
2675  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoin Bookstore on: March 08, 2023, 04:18:49 AM
Are you working on a VPS or shared hosting server? Considering the fact that the project you're working on requires lots of bandwidths whenever you plan to restructure it into a bookstore where people can directly  download or read bitcoin books. I think it will get hold of audiences on the site other than the affiliation with Amazon books. However it's great as you'll make money out of referral, more like Amazon affiliate sites. But, a problem is not being solved, which is the sole aim of business. Like others suggested, allowing bitcoin as a payment method will solve lots of problems in this market, as it fall in line with what your audience have in mind once they see your domain name. Hence, to be in control of the books and maintaining page speed you need a VPS if you are not using it already.
2676  Other / Meta / Re: View Counter of each Reply on: March 07, 2023, 07:25:02 PM
The system calculates number of views of a thread by clicks on the topic I guess, the system can detect comment views by number of people that scrolled pass the comments. I assume is what social media like twitter does to calculate number of views on comments. Though I have not seen any forum script that enables such features and it's not necessary except advertisers on the forum wish to see such algorithm and stats, but I don't see any need for that since they can calculate number of link clicks to their website. Besides, forum users are not seeking for followers, so such feature may not matter.
2677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: this is, how easy it is to scam people on: March 07, 2023, 03:32:40 PM
I understand OP is trying to explain how easy it is to scam people using the woman as an example. Looking at his explanation in both sides, we can't clearly state who will become the victim. It could be OP or the shiller claiming to be a novice. Op's topic is still in line, because a person who is not experienced may fall for the shiller's con by joining the other account where they'll be ripped off their money. On the other flip, if the woman wasn't a shiller but genuine seeker of what bitcoin is about, Op is trying to inform us how easily she could get scammed. We are all in the cryptocurrency niche together and when we spot a scam we'll know, yet others may not be opportune to detect a fishy investment conversations that's where people perish because they lack information.
2678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 06, 2023, 08:18:57 PM
They are levels to everything, and gambling is not exempted. You can't expect a level 1 gambler to take gambling as a means of income. Many gamblers who have advanced in the gambling business, are equipped with different strategies that enable them win more than they lose. I've read of a man who retired his work to go all into gambling, though a boring life, but he didn't run out of bank role. I don't know if online gambling can be a means of earning a living, lots of players do that in offline casinos and still live large. It depends on the player's determination. Some can move from living large to not living at all Grin
2679  Economy / Gambling / Re: they are scamming us? on: March 06, 2023, 08:04:40 PM
Not all casinos scam players, we need to be observant as gamblers, if a machine promises 98% payback, a player must watch closely to know if he receives 98% payback. Because sometimes the machine would pay 88% payback that's where the scam comes in and as a gambler you must not work with such casino again. It's you against the house, so don't come screaming to an enermy that you don't like the way he beats you. Find a way to keep winning the house or leave it and find another one. As for the video, though I didn't watch it, what makes you all Believe the supervisor? Is he trying to subbotage his business or what? However, only few people knows the right answer to how a the casino operates; pays users. And probably fair can be calculated to know if the casino is doing the right thing they is a way to check it on the gambling sites, for some I've reviewed myself.
2680  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How can we make Bitcoin simpler? on: March 06, 2023, 07:51:31 PM
I think it is about interest.
Well said.

It's about interest, and I'm afraid that we hesitate to admit it; the title of this topic proves it. OP wants Bitcoin to become simpler so fiat users can adapt. But fiat users don't have the slightest interest in using Bitcoin as means of payment. My experience with real-world conversations about this has convinced me. I'd argue that the Gresham's law applies as well, among with this lack of interest.

Sending Bitcoin and sending money using a bank's ATM which is simpler? Bitcoin is, and requires no prior knowledge to send or receive money, the wallets UI are user friendly such that anybody can send Bitcoin swiftly. The Bitcoin usage is not a reason why it's not been adopted. Fiat users prefer to have same balance in their account over fluctuations. Even the elderly people can operate an ATM so Bitcoin wouldn't be that difficult to them, reducing Bitcoin transaction process to anything other than what it's now I don't know if they'll be need for that.
