2661  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin really crashing on: November 08, 2022, 10:10:33 PM
They is always a light at the end of the tunnel, after going bearish, bullish follows. The market has survived such situations in the past and bounced back, so FUD is not a thing.  The FTX dispute is similar to the luna crash which brought bitcoin to 20k, today bitcoin is staggering around 18k. Bitcoin will not crash, I believe, below 15k like Arthur Hayes predicts in his recent tweet. Its a sharp moment to take the risk, investors may be waiting for bitcoin to plunge again. And they'll proceed to buy at a cheaper rate.
2662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: This is why it's not a good idea to leave your coins on any exchange on: November 08, 2022, 12:25:42 PM
Its absolutely wrong to store your money with a bureau de change. The same is applicable to cryptocurrency, its sad that many traders use exchanges like wallets where they store their funds. Trading is the primary activity of exchanges and its advisable to store spare funds there. To enable easy trading experience, but leaving a big amount of coin in an exchange is just like what I said earlier; trusting a bureau de change with your fiat.

I figured out that the color riot on the home page is not user friendly; having green, black and white arranged in that manner may not hold a user to further navigate the site. I think White should be the general background color then black for texts, just like the white section for swapping currency. Another thing is the news scattered around the homepage, they should be a menu for news on the navigation bar then the currencies section hidden under the exchange drop menu should be on the section where news are. Since its an exchange people should be able to see the rate of currencies first, reading blog can come handy after the trader is done trading.
2665  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is suicide the best option? on: November 07, 2022, 01:31:54 PM
Suicide is like not being patient enough to wait 5 more hours for dinner then decide to take your life because the hunger is much. We are in a transient world. A person stays for 30-40 years then commits suicide, why not wait for another 40 years for nature to take the life it awarded them? Quite, in a way, people are destined to die one day and the source of death varies. When a person takes their life that means death came and decided they took their life themselves. People die through accidents, sicknesses, and naturally. But, a good percentage of death is self imposed. Car accidents could be through reckless driving or drunkenness, and these are not considered suicide. I'd say that death has a day for everybody and when that day arrives it doesn't matter if the person committed suicide, or had an accident the final discussion is the death of that person. Have you not noticed that nothing stops them from committing suicide no matter the love around them, rich people commit suicide too.  Judas Iscariot committed suicide despite having 30 pieces of silver with him. Sometimes its not about poverty or failure is about life span, how many years a person is destined to stay on earth.
2666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Forged or empty WIFs (paper wallets) - do not waste your time on: November 07, 2022, 12:31:23 PM
I have seen similar services on a cracking forum where a certain address containing 50btc or more but dormant is sold without a private key and the buyer is expected to crack into the account by different means to get the money. Even, people fall for big offers with narrow retrieval process. This type of scam looks real and victims can easily be convinced to buy at a cheaper rate, without sitting back to think why this seller didn't retrieve the paper wallet himself is he not in need of the money? Just like people that sell a course that'll teach people to earn 10k dollars a week for $100, and greedy people rush to buy. The internet or cryptocurrency market don't favor the greedy people as they'll always fall for, buy 1 btc to get 10 btc, scam. Thank you for exposing these pictures, more are still in circulation you can update the thread too when you have other forged pictures to save members.

Beginners and help is the right section to share such information for both newbies and other members to learn and further share ideas. However, if the post is technically focused then the Dev and tech section is also another good section for that. In the beginners section keep the terms and thread simple to understand. You can use tech jargon on the Dev section, they're a lot of tech savvy members in that section.

Blogs, books and videos are efficient for learning the tech aspect or difficult parts of Bitcoin. Reading and researching while creating threads to back up your knowledge, works well for anybody. It's difficult sometimes to forget threads you made yourself. The knowledge always sticks to the brain. Two hours everyday is enough to learn huge information on Bitcoin.
2669  Economy / Economics / Re: This level is a good springboard for BTC in November on: November 05, 2022, 09:08:14 PM
Let's hope for the opposite of 22nd December 2017 price plunge to happen this year. But, the trend is almost similar to that incident when bitcoin fell from 20k (ATh) to 11k. Though its unlikely to happen now for a currency that had an all time high of 60k last year. Bitcoin is expected to repeat the 2021 January price spike at-least to 25-30k before taking off again to 40k. Remember the world cup is here and they'll be an increase in bitcoin transactions travel agents, hotels, bars and stores will transact using bitcoin to ease foreign exchange barriers. And crypto brand like crypto.com is a sponsor of the 2022 world cup. So, they'll be a positive change in the price of bitcoin before the game ends.
2670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How are Online casino's and sports betting platforms coping? on: November 05, 2022, 08:41:41 PM
The market crash doesn't stop gamblers from playing games. Everyday the gaming reserve keeps growing as gambling doesn't leave a person easily. Considering that brands face difficulty, its their duty to figure a better way to gain revenues on their platform. Since the available brands are still here then they're holding on real tight towards the better days.
2671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your winnings lured someone into gambling ? on: November 05, 2022, 08:27:08 PM
A couple of persons got intrigued by my winnings and started gambling but, stopped after few weeks. They'll bet and loss, so the motivation derailed, forgetting how long it took me to win. Although, peeps may run out of money as a result and move on instead of waiting for the jackpot. On the other hand, I'm not pushed to spend above my limits because of another person's win. It doesn't stop me to keep an eye on the platform that paid them huge.
2672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN PRICE 1.25M$ EACH on: November 05, 2022, 04:58:56 PM
Such scene is not bad for a fiction movie. Movie directors and script writers insert different flairs normally to attract people's attention. Recently, Bitcoin is considered a digital gold so the movie is directed towards mining Gold and since mining is a term for Bitcoin it's not a bad idea to speculate bitcoin in a smart way like the director did. Saw viral tweets about the movie because of that particular scene. Now, I just viewed the movie through the link you shared. The aim of the director has been achieved and he/she did a great job for promoting Bitcoin and at same promoting the the movie through Bitcoin.
2673  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scanning barcode to make payment on: November 05, 2022, 12:53:05 PM
Transacting through the internet has some risks attached regardless of the method. Cyber criminals even go as far as replacing QR codes in stores, banners and billboards. Like @Solosanz said it's more secured to use QR code in stores as it'll be easier to catch the criminal that tends to change their QR code to a malicious one.

However, scanning a random Qr code is not advisable because of “quishing and QRLjacking" these two scam techniques are used by cyber criminals to redirect victims into a phishing site after scanning a QR code and trick victims to scan false QRL different from the real one. Once the QRL is scanned it'll retrieve your password and the device will be hijacked.

“ Under the right circumstances, hackers can even use QR codes to initiate a payment from the user's device or force the device to join a certain wifi network"

These are ways to prevent Quishing and QRLJACKING

  • Do not scan a QR code to receive money
  • Avoid logging in to an application or service using a QR code
  • Do not initiate any payment if you are notified about putting any sensitive information like your private keys after scanning a QR code
  • Avoid scanning random QR codes from suspicious sources
  • Do not scan QR codes that you receive via email from unknown source

2674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN VS LANDED PROPERTY on: November 04, 2022, 07:32:43 PM
To keep the comparison clear, this questions would help; would you sell bitcoin to buy a land or sell a land to buy bitcoin? They both have disadvantages and advantages but, the comparison would have been better if both are digital properties like Bitcoin and domain names. The issues with bitcoin include volatility, fud, fomo, loss etc and land may have an earthquake, flood and market crash too. The advantages of owning a land may not be compared to the advantages of owning bitcoin as the bull run can yield massive profits. While the price of land increase too you'll have to settle the land broker, lawyer and sometimes the government after selling a land. Such doesn't occur in selling bitcoin, a little fee and you are good. I'd go for both like everyone else.
2675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk have Just a year to make back his money🙆 on: November 04, 2022, 07:09:44 PM
Before Elon bought twitter I'm sure of services that charged 2k - 4k dollars to get a twitter account verified! Brands, celebrities and influencers didn't hesitate to pay for this kind of service. Though it was a one time payment where the money is used for press release to meet the requirements of getting a twitter blue tick. Some used the blue tick to stand out while others utilized it for illicit businesses. Now Elon is charging 8 dollars per twitter verification to fight bots and people are complaining. I think influencers feel bad to have a twitter where anybody can get a blue tick. He wants to determine real members from bots using this method. Unless business men move ahead to purchase a subscription for their bots which will add more funds to Elon's bank account. However, He owns twitter and nobody should tell him how to do his business as it won't add up, he doesn't care.
2676  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How do you create good habits and break bad ones, what actually works? on: November 04, 2022, 06:40:24 PM
Good and bad habit lies on your self-concept, its like the processor of the human body and it controls how we think and behave. The things we say to ourselves records on the subconscious mind and as well affects our habits. If you think about good habits or repeat this to yourself " I won't eat junks again"  4-5 times everyday. It'll trigger your self concept through the subconscious mind to stay conscious of eating Junks. In the past, I had an addiction on women, I fought that bad habit for months to no avail. But, after spending a month with friends that rarely discuss women or indulge in sexual activities the urge in me stopped and for 3 months now I've never felt like going back to that habit. Same thing applies to everyother habit you may be fighting. Get closer to people who are not in the same condition with you and soon your self-concept will change towards the way those people think.
2677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: One word is enough on: November 04, 2022, 06:02:41 PM
Indeed, one word is enough, it's a good volition to appreciate the person who changed your posting experience in the forum despite he is not here to see your thank you message. The best part of your post is the line that advise newbies to abstain from bounty threads. They're no harm in passing along the same message that changed you and improved your knowledge of cryptocurrency. But, you could have done more by elaborating the advice so that it'll be understandable by the newbies. Next time when you decide to create threads try to keep it simple and easy to understand. The topic and article doesn't match, I thought you had a detailed advice to share but it was more of an appreciation thread.

Don't stop creating contents but stop if you can't keep it quality as it'll make no difference from your bounty days. Keep posting quality thread as an atonement to the spammy bounty threads you made in the past.
2678  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin Obituaries on: November 04, 2022, 04:46:29 PM
I'd say the site is a limited Bitcoin obituary site; the available stats of Bitcoin obituaries on the site are restricted to two requirements. All bitcoin is dead submissions must meet these rules  before it'll be published: the website, blog or social media account that created a Bitcoin is dead article or thread must have good following or traffic and the articles must focus on the failure of Bitcoin mainly. Which means that if all the Bitcoin is dead articles or tweets were recorded they'd be more figures than what we have today. But, yet, despite the limitations the numbers are still high. Bitcoin triumphs from both bad and good publicity.

I'm seeing the site for the first time and the idea behind it is excellent.
2679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Chinese Intelligence Officers Used bitcoin to bribe a US Official on: November 02, 2022, 04:42:29 PM
It's a common story, but the story behind this "using bitcoin for bribery" by Chinese intelligence officers who exert schemes to get information from the US law enforcement agency may not be relevant to what I have to say. If you wish to read the complete details of the story the link is below. Moving on, I disagree with what a coindesk correspondence had to say, in this Video, about the bribery with bitcoin.

One correspondence pointed out that the bribery was traced because it was issued with bitcoin and the FED should be happy that bitcoin transactions are traceable; including that those PRC intelligent officers would have gone Scot-free if the bribe was given via fiat.

It's quite interesting to have such a view, but in this unsuccessful criminal occurrence, it's not relevant to take sides of which currency would have been used to avoid traces. Because I was pondering about what happened with the bribed officer. Read further and discovered that he worked as a double agent for the FBI. So he divulges every business he had with the PRC intelligence officers. Imagine that the bribery was issued surreptitiously; the GE-1, as he's referred to in the article, if he was a bad cop or kept the bribery a secret from the FBI.

Would they still be any possible trace of the business behind this particular bitcoin transaction? Considering that 60k is not too large a transaction to grasp the suspicion of the FBI. Indeed, there is a ledger for every peer-to-peer transaction, but the reason behind the transaction remains the decentralization if nothing is disclosed to a third party.

I know of two possible ways the FBI can trace a bitcoin transaction

1. Hacking into an exchange
2. If one part of the transaction reports to the FBI as the GE-1 did.

Please, I'm I By any means not getting this right? is it possible to suspect a bitcoin transaction like the one above without being told or given details of what led to the transaction?

2680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Volume decreasing over time, what does this tell us? on: November 01, 2022, 11:10:58 AM
The volume of BTC decreases as the stock market plunges down the hill. Since bitcoin is broadly used by many people, the price of bitcoin is rapidly correlated with the price of traditional assets which is now affected by macroeconomic factors like inflation, fiscal policy, employment level etc.
