2661  Economy / Economics / Re: US home loan banks lend billions of dollars to crypto banks on: January 30, 2023, 11:08:39 AM
If anything, the lenders probably see something on these crypto banks before they authorized that loan. Most of these loans go through a rigorous process before they can be approved, and so they must know that even though these crypto banks have liquidity issues, they still have the weight and asset to pay for whatever they borrowed. Also if whatever they loaned is to provide them liquidity, I don't think there will be any problems arising from that. At least, they are trying to look out for whoever they serve by getting that much needed cash/whatever to gain some liquidity and continue providing service.
2662  Economy / Economics / Re: Track every rich person take on: January 30, 2023, 10:08:16 AM
Some people are rich, because they inherited their wealth or their previous generation opened doors for them to be successful. I know of several examples where people with money, used their money to get their children into top educational institutions.

So, it turn out that it is all about what you have and who you are linked to... and not simply what you achieved. A perfect example is a son of one of my friends.... he was the top achiever in his school... he then applied to study for a doctor .... and he was denied.. but one of his friends with a doctor as a father, with average achievements.. were accepted.  Roll Eyes Angry

This is why it's completely useless to mimic what the rich are doing. You also have to have a certain amount of luck in order to be successful. You might be doing what the rich guys are doing, and you're mimicking them a 100%, but without the opportunities and connections that the rich have, you will only work harder and achieve above-average results with little to no change in terms of progress in your career or business.

Following their ways may help one way or another in enriching some aspects of your life. But making you rich? That's highly improbable if you don't have luck.
2663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 30, 2023, 07:48:03 AM
This type of thing are more common than most people think. Many people steal money and then they try to gamble and win big, so that they can pay it back and just take the profit. Even if they succeed in doing that, it is still illegal.... so if it was found out... they could still be prosecuted.

In the majority of these cases, people might win a little bit of money... but most of them lose more than what they are stealing... and then it grows bigger and bigger, because they do not stop trying.  Shocked

Unfortunately for the woman, she was caught red-handed and does not do well in lying. If she had any talent in lying, then perhaps she would have shrugged all of these accusations and she will be able to continue what she's doing. She never had the slightest idea about backup plans and it shows. What I don't understand is how these kinds of people are impatient about getting their own money and spending it on their own purposes. They can always wait and gamble guilt-free but I guess some people like being challenged for whatever reason.
2664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too accessible of online casino grows addiction faster? on: January 30, 2023, 05:52:58 AM
^

Technology will constantly improve, but only we can prevent addiction to gambling. There are a few rules which a gambler can follow to play gambling without any damage to his health and financial situation.

1. gamble with the money that you do not regret to lose
2. limit your expenses on gambling so as not to lose the money which is intended for other purposes
3. do not gamble too often and alternate your gambling with other activities
4. learn to quit when you still have money

You say some great things, you encompass a large part of what can cause addiction in a site, in retrospect I think that this can be summed up more than all in number 1, and it is that everything is summed up there, that you can only make yourself spend what they are destined to lose, and most people when they go to play they only think about what they are going to win but they do not think about what they are going to lose, what they are going to lose they do not even take it into account, many times they ignore it, And the biggest blow is when they lose, so many times when these things happen, the blow is so strong that they can cause many side effects that directly affect people's emotions.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of gamblers that are extremely superstitious. Most of them do not think about losing because they believe that it attracts bad luck, and if they think about what they could possibly lose, then it's like they're manifesting the loss to happen. Even I don't like to think that I might lose, because it might just happen and I'll just blame myself for 'manifesting' the loss that occurred to me. This is why it's important to set a fixed budget if you're looking to gamble, otherwise you won't be able to control the outflow of cash from your pockets.
2665  Economy / Economics / Re: I have resolved into buying more and caring less on: January 29, 2023, 06:37:58 PM
Good for you if you have the money. You no longer have to worry about buying during the dip or all of those advice that seasoned traders give out to the newbies. You just buy and forget, as what a lot of people do a few years back and were rewarded with insane profits that they never expected. Even I was doing this thing for years, and even if a lot of people advice against it, there's no doubt that hold and forget really works.
2666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hit And Run Gambling - Can The House Be Beaten This way? on: January 29, 2023, 05:25:39 PM
If the scenario is the first, it's true that you have won thousands of dollars from the casino but as a new gambler, will the casino let you withdraw the winnings? Certainly not. The casino will ask you to do KYC and they will process the withdrawal request if you really don't break the rules. But if the casino allows you to withdraw those thousands of dollars in winnings, you really are very lucky as a new gambler.

The second scenario is almost similar to what happened in the first scenario. Unless you have done KYC in both scenarios, the casino will probably process your withdrawal request immediately. But it depends on each casino because each casino has its own rules.

And even if you have managed to withdraw your money, the casino is still the winner because they managed to get more money from the losing gamblers.

Assume that he passes all the KYC necessary in order to withdraw, I say that it's a pretty good thing to do to quit while you're ahead because you already got something out of the casino. You may come back from time to time for some quick sessions that sets you back a few dollars at best but I guess that's just it. Or better, just forget about gambling at all.

Also, the scenario only talks about an individual winning against the house. We all know that the house always wins due to the number of gamblers in their platform, but at this single instance, the house lost against a smart gambler who decides to dip when he had the chance.
2667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to bet on Billiards sports? on: January 29, 2023, 04:24:12 PM
If it's a world tournament, then there probably are some lines on sportsbet.io or Stake. But if it's just some other minor tournament then you will have a hard time searching for any available lines that you can bet on for billiards. It's a pretty much popular sport but I don't know why not a lot of bookies are interested in catering it. Perhaps not a lot of interest on to it? But I doubt it. Its viewership can still be huge as a lot of people still follow the sport to this day.
2668  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: January 28, 2023, 08:24:04 PM
You can always follow what the rich people do, but you also need some luck in order to be successful. You don't always get opportunities knocking at your door, and even if you have the grit, the talent, the passion, or the effort, if no opportunity lands in front of you to take, then success wouldn't really be realized on you. But of course, luck isn't always the determining factor for success. It plays a huge role but if you're not ready to grab the ppportunity, you will never know how to respond when that luck comes knocking.
2669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hit And Run Gambling - Can The House Be Beaten This way? on: January 28, 2023, 07:51:05 PM
You may have beaten the house yourself, but people will still lose to it so in a way, they cannot be 100% beaten. As long as there are people playing in the casino, they will always operate, and they will surely make money off of people that way. If a lot of gamblers that win have this kind of self-control that, in the event that they win big they never played into any casino again, then the house may be beaten and they might close their doors for good. But again, most of these are theoretical, but a good one at that.

Navi godlike era in CS;GO seems to approach it's ending ? I mean , you can't dominate the stage forever and G2 are looking deadly with Monesy.

Navi removing boombl4 saw them being a dominant team to a team that has lackluster performance in a lot of the tournaments they're in. Sure, they have some of the best riflers and AWPers in the world, but without a solid IGL, they're just squad of individually skilled players that dominates pubs and that's it. Electronic being the IGL hurts them the most. The man doesn't know what to prioritize and his mid round calls always seem to go against what they expect to happen.
2671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEX deserves all criticism but not the hate on: January 28, 2023, 06:55:05 PM
The bottomline is this: CEX is great for buying/selling your coins but they are not to be trusted with holding your funds for a long time. That's where things go south fast. We trust these entities too much to not pull some shit that can potentially be a reason to lose our funds just because they are registered and we can legally go after them. They are named 'exchange' for a reason; they primarily facilitate exchanges between currencies, and they're not supposed to keep your funds for an extended period of time. If anything happens, you are partly liable because you left your funds there in the first place.
2672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: January 28, 2023, 04:54:17 PM
Quite surreal that the world's number 2 is so far behind in the standings for Tata Masters. Giri, on the other hand, seems to be playing extremely well, defeating both Magnus and Ding in classical. I know that Abdusattorov is the heavy favorite to win this tournament, but if So wins against him today, that might give Giri the chance to snag the first place and become the tournament champion. Van Foreest will be a hard match against Giri, but a draw would be very much welcome as that still puts Giri in a comfortable position even if Carlsen manages to beat Pragg.
2673  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: January 28, 2023, 03:46:25 PM
You're lucky you're in a position wherein your hobby pays off more than your salary. If I were you, I would quit that job in a heartbeat and focus on what I do best and what I enjoy most. You'll be surprised on how freeing it is to do something that you love and get paid for it. While it is best to keep two jobs since you get two streams of income, fact of the matter is you'll always feel tired keeping both gigs and you might end up getting drained for even for your hobby that pays you.

Also, make sure before you quit, that whatever you're getting on your hobby, it is a steady stream with no hiccups here and there. Better be safe than sorry, even though with that experience you can easily get a job and get paid more than where you're at currently.
2674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 28, 2023, 03:19:46 PM
There is this thing about shopping and airlines that when you check and forget, they send you bonus or discount for your possible shopping/trip. Same holds true for casinos, if you just register and leave they will send you some bonus to get you started playing.

  -  What do you mean by the register and then leave?
Didn't you register because you want to experience being able to play and take advantage of the other bonuses?

I'm sorry I can't get your point here mate, Do you mean that if you don't want to play you will give me a bonus equal to gambling just so I don't have to leave, is that what you mean?

It looks like you haven't experienced receiving a "welcome" bonus that tempts the user to do their first deposit by showing them a lot of possible bonuses that they may receive simply by doing a deposit. Casinos often do these and send the said promotions through emails in order for the user who signed up but never did any deposit to read the notification and possibly start playing. They'd do all these marketing strategies just to get someone started on their platform.

Now you know why gamblers here have accounts on almost every reputable casinos. They are generous in providing such bonuses even if you haven't played or deposited in their casino yet.
2675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Power Slap League on: January 28, 2023, 12:34:10 PM
I'm not interested into betting on sports and events in which physical harming is done. Recently saw a video in which two players slapped, and I got shocked to see a player get hurt. In specific the player's mandible got dislocated. I don't think most of the cryptocurrency accepted gambling platforms will add it to avail for betting.

Boxing, MMA, and other fighting sport require one fighter to hurt the other, though through safe and controlled means. Power slap competitions don't seem to have any sense of safety in between players that join the league. All of them aims to hurt the other player so bad for them to win, and a direct slap with bare palms to the jaw can cause serious damage to the receiving party, sometimes requiring hospitalization.

Though I get your sentiment about the physicality and rawness of power slapping, but other sports can get physical too, it's just that they're governed by rules that make them somewhat safer.
2676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: January 28, 2023, 11:54:00 AM
It's always the age concern when Donaire has a fight. It's impossible for his doubters they will not to include that age matters.

On what fight we didn't hear that age concern? Of course, we won't include Inoue in our analysis as he's really on a top level and no one from the bantamweight is able to defeat him although Donaire is the only bantamweight that gives Inoue a serious beating on the Monster's career.

Let's start with Donaire after losing Inoue. He faced the WBC Champion Nordine Oubaali. Donaire was 38 years old at that time. As usual, before the fight, others say that Donaire was too old to fight as he loses to Inoue. But the result? He won against the 34 years old Ouballi and even knocked this guy 4 times. His next fight is against a much younger and fellow Filipino Reymart Gaballo who is 24 years old at that time and currently in prime. And as usual again, others also pointed out that Donaire is too old on that fight at 39 years old but the result is, he won against that young and prime boxer and knocked him out in just 4th round.

Jason Moloney is a good test for Donaire if he can still match with top bantamweight at his age.

You can't really disregard Donaire's age in his future fights. It will always be a question because obviously, as humans become older, they tend to lose some of their endurance, strength, and mobility generally. What more in fights wherein a lot of strain is put in the body of the fighter? But yeah, with age comes experience, and this is what Donaire uses to edge against his opponents that, so far, is working so well even though he didn't got to bet Inoue.

Even Manny Pacquiao got old before the legend hung up his gloves. He was still active and his punches still pack a lot of power, but his speed was noticeably slower and yet he still managed to not get knocked out on his last fights.
2677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 28, 2023, 05:46:15 AM
What a way to graduate! And what school are they from that they managed to raise $200,000 just for graduation funds? The woman clearly has her priorities though it's not in a way that benefits her nor the people around her. I guess she believed that she can beat the system so much that she was determined to use funds that are not hers in order to make bets. Unluckily, she won, but her winnings aren't enough to cover for what she used. She's clearly delusional, and she deserves to be in jail to learn her lesson.
2678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has someone tried to use ChatGPT to help in trading? on: January 27, 2023, 08:15:27 PM
I don't think ChatGPT will help that much in creating new trading algorithms. It's good for casual conversations just to kill time, but ordering it to write code for you will be a hard task and I don't think developers even implemented that feature on the bot. It will not even help you predict basic things in the future, so right now it's best to not rely on this bot to anything related to your finances and investments.
2679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ️ Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: January 27, 2023, 07:50:11 PM
Taking some action with DPC WEU later tonight.

Liquid vs OG. This is obviously Team Liquid's game. They are still perfect in this regions 6-0 and dropping just 1 map. While OG has lost to Nigma endangering their slot for Lima Major in the process.

Tundra Esports vs Gladiators. Tundra's game is quite boring, but they are consistent in winning. The reigning TI champion will probably win over GG.

Team Secret vs Team Nigma. Both teams are fighting to keep their current division and avoid relegation. Though they may be on equal footing but Team Nigma has shown better games lately. Favoring Nigma to win over team Secret at this series.

I never expected GG to take a game against Tundra. What Tundra is doing is a very proven meta in the last TI, and you're right that it's extremely boring because it can easily snowball mid-late game. Well whatever, we're here to take the wins anyway, but GG is not going down without a fight. They can counter the zoo strat pretty well and they have proven that they have what it takes to beat the reigning TI champs in their own comfort heroes.

What I'm worried about this next game is that Tundra has a very limited hero pool. Don't get me wrong, their meta is extremely strong and works most of the tims, but their heroes can easily be countered just like what happened in game 1.

EDIT: GG just won the series. Lol
2680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Power Slap League on: January 27, 2023, 07:13:02 PM
I don't think bookies will allow this kind of sport to be posted in their lines. Most of the competitors that will join this competition would surely be in for just a few fights and afterwards, they might think that the damage that they're receiving is not worth the prize money. That brutal knockout that happened just a few days ago shows how brutal and unsafe this sport can be, and it seems Dana White doesn't care that much about the safety of its competitors but more about the revenue they can generate off of the viewership they gain from the sport. Hopefully they reinvent the rules of the sport, but there clearly is no 'safety' on the side of the fighters here really, because you receive a direct blow to the face with bare hands of your opponents.
