2661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 20, 2023, 08:00:02 PM
From times to times something interesting might drop on your email box, you just need to be active checking your emails, because those promotions are for limited time. Also, make sure the casinos' emails aren't spotted as spam by your email provider, so you don't miss any of their messages. At same time, be aware there can be phishing attempts by hackers trying to camouflage themselves as official casinos sending you catchy emails. Never click a link without checking each detail/character of the email from where it came.
2662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: QUESTION: For Gambling Enthusiasts ❗❗ on: January 20, 2023, 07:18:52 PM
When playing against the house you have the assurance to be under provably fair system, at least in crypto casinos, so theoretically you can't be cheated. All outcomes must be fair and legit.

On the other hand, when you play on PvP mode, there are serious chances the other player uses bots and macros to have a dishonest advantage over you along the match, as we have already seen in Chess and FPS games, for example.

if there was a method to make sure PvP games were provably fair as well, I would go for it, without any doubts. But since there isn't, every gambling categories have the same winning potential for me. Casino's games have the house edge, which benefits the house on long term and PvP games have the issue I mentioned above, which benefits users making use of such resources on long term.
2663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's freedom is Absolute! on: January 20, 2023, 07:11:38 PM
Shying away from taxes and regulations will only make our life worse because the entire system is centralized and connected. ..., at some point of time you will have to integrate with the real economy!
Shying away from taxes, wanting to remain 100% anonymous and not integrating with the economy is one of the reason bitcoin owners are accused of illegal business because no one can actually tell what they do and how they do it.
That is part of freedom, but someone doing this should be aware every actions have consequences. If they want to remain anonymous, while having a wealthy lifestyle they must be aware it will bring a lot of undesired attention from authorities who will investigate this individual in order to discover from where his money come from and why he isn't declaring his source of income annually, potentially having to pay a very expensive fine for the crime in question, and forced to change his actions from that moment on regards his personal accountability. After all, society's rulers enforces freedom isn't practicable.
2664  Economy / Economics / Re: The Growth of cryptocurrency over foreign currency. on: January 20, 2023, 06:23:28 PM
Governments have recognized Bitcoin as currency only in 2 or 3 countries in the world. It's never going to happen in large scale because governments feel threatened by Bitcoin's potential of decentralizing finances, while also fearing the volatility of the digital currency, which could potentially damage the countries' economies and stability, becoming easy targets for enemy nations. You can expect only minor countries which are is weak financial conditions to adopt BTC as legal tender, not the shark ones.
2665  Economy / Economics / Re: We are not out of the woods yet on: January 20, 2023, 03:26:01 PM
Anything can happen, for the good and for the bad of Bitcoin on the following years, so a new bottom isn't a sure thing, after all. We don't know what the next fluctuations are going to be. All we can see is that 2023 has been being a year of recovery for BTC on these initial weeks, boosting positive sentiment among investors.

On the other hand, if Bitcoin falls again soon, let's see this as an opportunity for more investors start their investments in cryptocurrencies for an affordable cost.
2666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celsius won $4.2B worth of customers funds on: January 20, 2023, 04:49:46 AM
is there no way possible whatsoever for the customer to get back their money?
No. Scammers have permission from the judge to continue using depositors' funds to run their operations. Their strategy is to milk most money as possible paying their own wages as company's employees, so once the deadline for the recovery is over, there will be only pennies left for creditors. If the judge had decided the opposite then it would have been possible to retrieve funds partially. But that is not the case, so next time better to avoid these platforms.
2667  Economy / Economics / Re: How is the cost of living in your country? on: January 20, 2023, 01:55:43 AM
Today I purchased some fresh fruit, a loaf of good bread, good quality milk and 2kg of chicken drumsticks for my German Shepherd (he eats human food only) and the cost was close to $50.
Wow! Are those goods made of gold? Shocked

Let's try to compare, although you didn't mention the weight or amount of each product you bought, with the exception of chicken.

12 bananas - 1,35$
1 kg bread - 2,70$
1 liter milk - 1$
2 kg chicken drumsticks - 6,20$

Total - 11,25$

Maybe not the same quality of the goods you purchased, which are probably much superior, because they are really expensive, even for a first world country, right?

Petrol is over $2.10 a litre and my water and electricity bills have also increased by about 15%.
Gasoline is about 1$ a liter here right now. I don't know how much electricity and water bills have increased, though.

Maybe you could try looking for cheaper supermarkets where you could buy the same goods for a cheaper price?
2668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I had known on: January 20, 2023, 01:45:01 AM
I was introduced to Bitcoin talk org six years ago but I never took it serious because I feel digital money is not real. My non willingness to learn, has cost me a life changing opportunity but now, I know better😀.
Good for you! Unfortunatelly there are still many people who think digital money isn't real and that Bitcoin is a big ponzi scheme, without any intrinsic value, so they insist in wasting time and also money, because they prefer to let it in fiat stored in saving accounts which generate interest below the inflation. You took 6 years to wake up, while others are still sleeping after 14 years and wishing Bitcoin dies, so they can finally say: "I knew it! I told you all the time!". Now make sure you don't waste any more time, invest in BTC while it's not too expensive. We never know when the next bull run is going to start.
2669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of NFT on: January 20, 2023, 12:33:59 AM
The future of NFT is long and only just getting started. But like other projects, NFT still needs to be further developed and improved to attract more investors. NFT projects differ from previous crypto projects and cannot be treated the same as bitcoins, altcoins, or even other projects. So let's see how NFT develops in the future while we focus on the market that has started to move. And if NFT can become a trend again in the future, maybe it's time for NFT to grow even more.
NFTs are likely to become a trend again once we enter a new bull market. There are many popular franchises and personalities launching their own NFT collections targeting their fan bases and customers as potential buyers. It's an easy way for them to raise money and in large sums, depending how strong is the speculation on the currently moment. And that is why they should wait for the bull season, as with more demand for crypto, the prices of their NFTs are also going to become more expensive. On the other hand, it doesn't mean it's a good investment for us. The benefit is actually for those who are selling it, and for their fans who must be happy just by acquiring one NFT of their idols, but as investment it's not a good alternative.
2670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: January 19, 2023, 11:33:55 PM
OP it's as simple as ABC, check in the gambling board there are lots of casinos to choose from. Check their cryptocurrency for use, although almost all the casino's in this forum uses bitcoin.
One thing I can tell you is that in your quest to get a casino you would be gambling with make sure not to settle for the less, engage with one that meets your expectations and interest. Gambling should be fun, interesting and profitable too
I agree, OP should make some standards and desire where he want to gamble. He pick the factors from the members that have given some suggestions on what he should pick.
But the easiest to check all of those boards and announcement threads for him to see what these casinos are like and what the customers feed back are on them. He can basically look at those factors for him to have the idea if that casino is a good one or not. Supported cryptocurrencies are easy, all of them here are supporting usually bitcoin and if not, they're into altcoins.
He can also check different crypto casinos by clicking in signature banners displayed by us, forum members, below our posts. There are different casinos he can visit in order to conclude which he prefers to deposit and play, although he should be careful with 1xbit, since it's also being promoted on this forum, but doesn't have a positive reputation among customers who had their funds frozen there for not convincing reasons.
I also think it's a good idea for him to try the demo mode of every casinos around, as it can help him choosing the one he most enjoys.
2671  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Influencers, affiliate links and scams on: January 19, 2023, 10:27:52 PM
My bitcoin journey begun with this forum and a number of youtube channels about bitcoin. At first I was subscribing to most of them to show my appreciation for their work, but after a while it became obvious that most of them do it for the money, to get various sponsorships, using their audience like a guru is using his followers to work for him. They weren't giving anything to their audience, but trying to make the audience do things for them, like using referral links, buying coins they were recommending, paying for limited content. Also, they had no real content on their channels. It was all news from other social media like coindesk with their own comment on top and a more catchy title. It was always something big and exciting and in reality just another shitcoin with their own promo code.

Avoid these people like plague. You can easily recognize them by their explosive thumbnails. There's always a lot of exclamation marks and stupid headlines like
Is this over?
Is bitcoin done?
Crypto manipulation!
Warning to all holders!
Big pump incoming!
These coins will explode in 2023!

See something like that? Tell Youtube you don't want to see such content.
I would like to give you a merit for the post you wrote if I had any, because it really summarizes very well what has been happening on Youtube since many years ago. Right now, I'm having a hard time finding legit content on Youtube, because when I search something a lot of those "explosive thumbnails" videos displaying a youtuber surprised with his eyes wide open and the hands covering the mouth pop up all the pages long. They use misleading and catchy titles, which doesn't reflect the reality of the facts or the reality of the services they promote for referrals. That is what we call clickbait.

This is a big cons, because it becomes difficult and too time demanding to find what we are looking for and on which websites it worths to spend time, when looking for extra income online.
2672  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: January 19, 2023, 10:15:39 PM
What an unlucky fellow. I just hope, he really is a millionaire coz if not that is certainly depressing and might do the unthinkable. An average person would earn it in more or less than 10yrs of hard work. DK did a good job of protecting the identity of the bettor from further embarrassment or humiliation but not so much since it got leaked to Bleacher Reports not unless it has consent from the bettor.

This is one of the reasons why I'm not a fan of low odds, be it in sports betting or any casino games. I'm just wondering if he did it before. Not a million, but he bet a decent amount in low odds. He does not seem a first-timer to do such an extreme bet.
I also guess he is a millionaire who uses a lot of money to gamble. But if he is not a millionaire but just has a lot of money saved, it would not be worth using that money to gamble because he could just make an effort to make more money. Or maybe he accidentally placed a bet with low odds. There is still a lot of speculation about what happened to him to suffer such a big defeat while we don't know the truth.
He must be a wealthy man to have 1,4$ million dollars under his disposal for gambling. I believe someone who has such amount of money and place a bet of that size knows what he is doing and the possible outcomes, what means that should be money he could afford to lose. Probably if he were a foolish addicted gambler he wouldn't be able to accumulate 7 digits and become a millionaire, as he would have already gone busted a long time before. Addicted gamblers have difficult managing their finances and growing their patrimonies. Discipline and self-control are indispensable on this matter.
2673  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: January 19, 2023, 08:40:13 PM
Quote
Total investment potential will be reached after 360 days holding.
Why did you set the goal in time and not in % of the profit? you could stop and withdraw when you double up your investment, unless you had locked the fun for 1 year.
Because I want to see how much profit can be made once all benefits of the premium program are unlocked, that is after 1 year.

I'm not locking FUN for one year entirely at once. I lock for 1 month time periods, sell the surplus FUN for BTC, and lock again for another month. Just locked for 3 months once, but I'm not going to do this now, since BTC price is rising up and I might end earning less satoshis per FUN if I take too long to sell them.

If they are locked would be cruel to see a new ATH and won't be able to withdraw the money. An important part of an investment is accessibility to cash out at any moment that we want. But here while more time we lock then bigger is the profit. So, is like flipping a coin. Good luck with the experiment.
True. Thank you! Smiley
2674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: McDonald's Metaverse or just a Hype? on: January 19, 2023, 07:21:02 PM
Well, for me it makes no sense McDonalds join Metaverse, because my interest on it are the meals, which can't be purchased virtually. About NFTs it's just a matter of time until every famous companies launch their own collections of 10,000 unique virtual pieces to sell for million of dollars, but personally I also don't have any interest on it.

Interesting that by the half first decade of this century McDonalds was an example and reference of collectibles' developer, through the rewards launched to customers when acquiring the Happy Meal. Those were real unique items for collectors, including their unique characters, The Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie and others, who were simply retired for some reason.

Instead of launching a NFT collection, I think they should improve their currently Happy Meal's physical collectibles and return the old characters to the business.
2675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this asset or security on: January 19, 2023, 05:13:06 PM
I believe every assets are securities. We could say XRP coins are shares of the company which created them, so you as an investor acquire those shares in form of assets or securities expecting future profits through the sale of the coins or through staking them for passive income, that could be compared to the regular payments shareholders receive from the companies they hold assets in traditional markets.
2676  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: January 19, 2023, 04:58:06 PM
The problem on investing with FUN tokens was it’s supply is very massive which is 10+Billion tokens in circulation. This kind of tokens usually very hard to be pump especially if the utility is just for the token. Although it’s circulating supply is already closed to the maximum supply, Lowering the total supply will be a great feature from this token since this is not the original native coin of Freebitco.in.

I don’t know if there’s a token burn feature of this token but adding it will surely gives boost to the price since the circulating supply is already near to the max limit.
Indeed, huge supply is always a cons when investing in altcoins, because it difficults token's price to rise consistently.

But there is a burning feature already every quadrimester, as we can see on official FUN website. I mentioned this days ago in freebitco.in's thread, as you can see quoted below:

Well, this is good news, although the burned tokens correspond to 0,16% of total supply. The more they burn tokens, the better for stability and price increasement on long term. Results are quite positive, since the burning rate is increasing each new quadrimester:

2677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High Profit Projects Are Prone To Scam on: January 19, 2023, 04:52:12 AM
high profit is like marketing, they are promising such thing just to make you interested nothing more but usually the outcome will be entirely different, therefore if a project offering such tremendous return that it doesn't make sense certainly the first thing you should think is maybe the project is just scam, only if it's coming from reputed platform then you should trust. I'd say so far there's no project that has gained massive returns that initially offered fixed or some kind of percentage of returns to their targeted customers, instead it's always the fact that the project itself always delivers that makes the coin rise in value.
When projects promise too high rewards there are only two possible outcomes: scam or priceless tokens which you won't be able to sell even for 1 satoshi each. Developers doing this are only looking for greedy investors, as they know high rewards will attract them. It's the same method used by scammers who run hyips. Unfortunatelly that is not the kind of thing which is going to disappear from the crypto industry or from the internet, because there are many people looking for such investments yet, and since crypto is an anonymous and decentralized environment, it's also a fertile field for such schemes to take place.
2678  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Influencers, affiliate links and scams on: January 19, 2023, 03:32:16 AM
How can people watch these paid shills? There's no pleasure and no profit in it.
They are using you!
Regards Lark Davis I don't know how he managed to gather a large public, as I see nothing special about him. But Bitboy I believe it was because he boasts a networth of 28$ million dollars and a wealthy lifestyle, theoretically achieved through crypto investments, especially altcoins. And the public like this kind of people who are surrounded by tons of money and have an imposing speech, due to it sounding convincing.

at the moment when the influencers promoted them, all of them were doing business legitimately. no one can blame them for that, In the end, I believe that not most of the influencer is directly involved in the "fraud" scheme itself.
it is something completely different if someone promotes an obvious scam, although this is also subject to different interpretations, given that the first Google showered us with advertisements from dubious platforms.
I think the right thing to do would be those celebrities donate the money they were paid by the scammers to the victims, being it earned from referral comissions or official contracts.

The way business is being done, it's too good for scammers and their promoters, while the customers/investors' side end completely screwed up.
2679  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Start of a Bull Season on Bitcoin? Or a Trap? on: January 19, 2023, 01:50:47 AM

Then investors should continue putting more pressure on the whales, so they will burn their holdings to manipulate the price downside, while smaller investors grab their coins and hold. It would be great to break the whales' wall, what could be achieved by increasing optimism among potential investors, especially new adopters. I don't know if it's possible to do this right now, because there are lots of bad news about crypto market still in the air, but a movement of this kind is trying to rise up for this entire week. I have no doubts about it. What is missing at this moment is a strategy to potentialize this sentiment.

Why not add freebitco.in as an alternative on the propaganda where to acquire FUN as well? Huh
Although frebitco.in isn't an exchange, it shouldn't be issue to present it by the side of the 5 exchanges, as you can buy, sell and stake there, like you would do on any of those exchanges.
