seems that the number of scams has decreased a little, very few left.
are there any new scams worth mentioning?

even if theres only a few left, its pretty much a guarantee that new ones will pop up one after another, eventually. cloudthink.io I would say is the likely new scam, given all the signs. and seeing that some people are actually buying these "investment packages," id expect a few more scams to pop up in the future given how profitable "cloud mining" ponzis seem to be.
2662  Economy / Gambling / Re: CS:GO gambling ? on: June 23, 2015, 08:22:14 AM
I know fairlay and nitrogensports both have ML and spread betting for most CS:GO matches; some events arent on there though, mostly the small tournaments with tier 2/3 teams.
2663  Economy / Services / Re: Solve Captchas for Bitcoins on: June 23, 2015, 04:42:43 AM
Up to 0.55$ per 1000 captchas (about 1 hour of work)
Payments per 1000 captchas depends on time of day.
So you are willing to pay people $0.55 per hour to solve captchas for you? I can't imagine the kind of people who would be willing to do this. If someone was part of a paid signature campaign they could simply post a few times per hour, get paid more then that and have some level of intellectual stimulation.

considering how people beg for a few satoshi in dice sites and how people constantly make new accounts hoping to scam someone for 0.001 BTC in the lending section, I wouldnt be surprised if there were people that would actually do this despite the meager pay; in fact im more or less expecting a few people.
Exactly.  I remember on other forums where people used to sign up and work maybe ~15 minutes for others for just a couple of cents.  It is a fair amount to pay in some countries.

thats also a great point; this kind of pay is a fair amount in some of the less fortunate parts of the world, not everyone is a beggar hoping for a few cents here and there.
So unless you are from a more fortunate country, you are "a beggar hoping for a few cents here and there"? I dont understand your logic, please explain, hey op, it would be nice if all the captchas would be loaded up in a browser instead of downloading a programe, i shall try this out

I think youre misunderstanding here; im just agreeing with monbux's point about this kind of pay being fair in some countries; the second part was misworded by me; dont remember what I was thinking about though

So Im obviously really new here. I`ll be editing my journey to btc, as I`m new to all this..

I saw and read a bunch of threads like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1006151.0

only to find limited to some options, but cant do some cause im obviously new to join a campaign.

since you are new to bitcoin, first of all start reading about bitcoin and the importance of securing your coins.
spend some time on the forum and read the posts to get the whole idea and learn the ways to earn bitcoin.
after this time has passed and you became informed enough, your rank has risen too and you can join a good signature campaign and earn more bitcoin.

i agree with this guy; learning more about the currency itself is probably more important right now; prioritize learning at least the basics before worrying about how to earn from signature campaigns or faucets otherwise. Just read through a couple of the threads on this section; a lot of your potential questions might be answered by the various threads started by other newcomers. Learning about how the network (miners, transactions, the blockchain, confirmations, and fees) would be a great place to start.

2666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get Bitcoins other than mining and faucets on: June 23, 2015, 02:22:27 AM
Best way to earn Bitcoin is through signature campaigns. Why not give it a try?

It's better than trading, and mining, and its 100% guaranteed.

BitcoinTalk only campaigns tho.

Hope this helps.

it should be noted that having a signature and spamming low quality posts generally leads to a quick ban; people are usually inclined to spam mindless nonsense for a few thousand satoshi. careful not to spam if you do enroll in one OP.
2667  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone know anything about Wagecan.com? on: June 23, 2015, 02:20:00 AM
I want to use their service but I'm not seeing any reviews.  I want to use their interest bitcoin savings accounts and debit card but I'm afraid because of the weird typos and no reviews.

if their site looks that sketchy in the first place, I wouldnt trust it, as far as interest bitcoin accounts go, try doing some research on HaoBTC, they have a pretty large mining farm and claim to give 8% APR, but I find that latter claim a tad fishy given the absurdly high interest, their mining farm seems legitimate though, given he numerous photos and videos.
2668  Economy / Services / Re: Need someone in the US that can buy a large amount of BTC for me. Make $10,000. on: June 23, 2015, 02:12:18 AM
I would be very interested if this was not blatantly illegal. Even if there was some chance that you could avoid getting caught, I think there is a pretty good chance that whoever takes up the OP on their offer would likely be helping them secure funds that do not legitimately belong to them, which is something that I would hope that most people would want to avoid.

theres a good chance the debit card this person is using is carded, either that or this is just straight up money laundering. either way, theres something pretty fishy about this.

CrimeDice, anything to say on this? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1096390.0 albiet it was a disgustingly written article, you should at least respond so that people dont think youre just skimping out on what you hired this guy to do.

2672  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Service Legitimacy on: June 22, 2015, 11:33:45 PM
Greetings and salutations,

From what I understand in this corner of the internet, a majority of bitcoin miners and frequenters think that cloud mining services are a scam, and are not to be trusted. My question to you, the bitcoin loyal masses, is "what could a cloud mining service do to make them seem more legitimate in your eyes?"
Not being anoymous and being transparent. Companies who keep their owners hidden are shady and doesnot look legit. Find out everything about the owners, if they appear in public their hosting website is mostly  be legitimate. Even a video proof of  the mining rigs help.

It's actually hard to get a profit from cloud mining by the way.

even if the owners of the operations come forth, it doesnt guarantee that an operation is legitimate; lets take GAW for example, im pretty sure little explanation is needed. But, your first point is very right: cloud mining operations that tend to try and keep the owner's identity and whatever else information they can hidden are usually ponzis, one of the points made in the ponzi risk assessment thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0

"The value of bitcoin isn’t the currency, but the technology. I can’t see many major governments around the world saying, ‘We’re going to move to bitcoin as currency,’ but I suspect that the world will embrace the uses of the blockchain.” -Anthony Watson

Looks like Bitreserve might have a good future ahead.
2674  Economy / Lending / Re: NEED MICRO LOAN .005 coin on: June 22, 2015, 05:44:03 PM
People have scammed on here for less then a dollar. Unfortunately the lack of reputation on here almost certainly is going to mean that you are not going to get your loan. There are simply too many scammers who have tried exactly what you are doing only to run away with the loan.

Regardless, a transaction that size would likely cost close to the amount of the loan in transaction fees due to the "stress test" that is being done now.

yup, i was actually recently scammed for 0.005 as well, gave a no collateral loan to a full member who decided he wanted to scam for a dollar instead of selling their account for a whole lot more. its sort of pathetic but people are more than willing to put time and effort into getting a dollar or less out of it all.

Yep.

Posted on the Scrypt.CC Dashboard when you login to the site:

June 22, 2015 – Around 24 hours ago, I (Marcelo Santos AKA Admin) was finishing our server upgrade, We’ve been doing the switch step by step for the past two weeks. The last part was the accounts database and the trade engine. I put a notice up here around the time I was finishing the switch, users that were online at the time probably noticed. After I completed, I ran a upgrade on the new server and left on a personal trip with my family in which I was unreachable until now.

Around 14 hours ago our database was breached, the hacker credited himself BTC and KHS and withdrew BTC until our withdraw wallet was empty. He then proceeded to make suspicious orders in the market in which the market automatically turned itself off. This sent a alert to myself and other support staff, one of them seeing what was happening but not being able to do much as he does not have back-end access, he enabled our “Panic” mode in which put the whole site on lock down. But the hackers still managed to gain access and steal the coins from the hot wallet and the backup withdraw wallet.

Bad news: We had a large amount of BTC stolen, most of which were ours.
Good news: Our server runs hourly database backups and a backup was made minutes before their first attack and right before the lock down. So all user information is safe.

The site will stay online while we investigate further and plan out our next steps.
Balances will show 0 for the time being as we work on the database.

According to the blockchain some users are still depositing into their accounts, DO NOT MAKE ANY MORE DEPOSITS since the hackers still have access to the hotwallets.

Please have patience and I’ll keep everyone updated as we execute our next steps.

what a convenient series of excuses; all the btc is suddenly gone now due to a "hack" but dont worry, all your user information is safe so its all ok. looks like it might actually be collapsed now.
2676  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Full member account,.2 BTC.Bitx sig. + free debit card. on: June 22, 2015, 04:33:59 PM
considering that account just turned into a full member recently, I highly doubt youll get 0.2 BTC even with good post quality; considering the market right now id say youd get anywhere from 0.09 to 0.13 if youre lucky, thats assuming people dont want to take advantage of the bit-x stuff.
also, how are you going to give your bit-x account to another person when logging in requires phone verification?

It is normal to lose cos house has high house edge, btw, what games did you play?

I recommend u only gamble the games which have lowest house edge, like blackjack, dice, i am still profitable in BJ, but lost some on sports, sports betting has high margin and house edge, and sometimes results are unexpected.

nice spam post; OP lost on satoshimines, where there is only 1 game to play; the minesweeper thing. at least read a paragraph before skipping to typing a reply.

Sorry I am new to all this. What exactly do you mean by a collateral?

something the loaner can sell to cover the loan in case you end up defaulting. forum account are usually accepted for this but your account is worth nothing, so in your case altcoins would probably be your best bet. Paypal account, steam accounts, etc are not valid to be used as collateral.
