2661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM COIN? or next big thing? Global Coin Reserve on: October 03, 2014, 01:10:49 PM
I agree it sounds like a big scam... but does anyone beg to differ? Any more in depth opinions?

2663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is this all about a Global Coin Reserve on: October 03, 2014, 10:45:50 AM
the questions I ask is that these are the claims:

They will not release a source code or block explorer becasue they are going to fork off etherium
They are not on an exchange yet but in the player back room it says the value of 1 QCR is 0.43 dollar (they base the price on how many people are mining and how many coins already mined) I wish I could value my coin like this lol
They are going to launch with 1000 cash machines which can also be used with bitcoins and the top philippino taxi company will accept QCR
They will be backed by gold and they have struck a deal with a gold foundry in the UK
Also for 100 usd per month you get 150 kh/s mining which works out at around 20 coins per day from someone who has signed up and apparently they have 1000 people cloud hashing away already.

That means on their new coin they have 150,000kh/s already. Does this not sound rediculous? I mean they are the only people mining the coin so they can do it from a single semi ok rig and work it up on far less than 150,000kh/s

Also they claim that wjhen the coin goes on an exchange or 'platform' itwill be worth around 1usd and the difficulty will bew so low anyone can mine the coin with their computer.

So what they are paying for is this if it is true. 1000 cash machines (200k usd?), 150,000kh/s mining power (200kusd?), a substantial contract with a gold foundry in the UK (lol this will be immense)

So I dont want to say this is a scam I want someone to tell me if any one thinks this is realistic and has any probability of becomiong a success? Or is it to mislead and take money off people. This is what I am trying to establish with some kind of subsrtance rather than opinions.
2664  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase on: October 02, 2014, 08:29:22 PM
I had an email from them saying they have problems with a browser as they just launched in certain countries. I know they are a big company and I wasn't that worried I just prefer when I can chat on the phone and not wait around. I am sure it will be sorted but will keep you posted incase this happens to anyone else
2665  Economy / Service Discussion / Coinbase on: October 02, 2014, 04:44:48 PM
Does anyone have a customer service number for coinbase? I transfered 1100 euros to them and was having difficulty with drawing it back out. I exchanged messages with support and had to send more money to confirm my account. Now I can not log in or change my password. It is as if my account has been deleted. I am in France does anyone know of any current issues?

But anyone with a number would be great so I can try call them.

Yes this is indeed a very important cause I will message you shortly to work out the details. If we combine forces we can make more of an impact.

100usd per month gets you 150 kh/s and it's all closed source. No block chain. No download able wallet. But come December they will fork off etherium and be backed by gold and be worth well over 1 usd on any platform. I need your opinion guys pleaee

That didn't work out quiet well.
2671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SCAM COIN? or next big thing? Global Coin Reserve on: September 30, 2014, 04:32:37 AM
Ok guys I am not trying to sign you up with this but I have been invited to this and the only way you can have a look inside is by following a ref feral link.

Basically you buy hashing power anywhere between 100usd to 3000 usd per month to get some of the currency. Then at Christmas time it all becomes open source so anyone can mine it. Here is a link to have a look inside

http://gravitate.globalcoinreserve.com/

OK so I have the opportunity of talking to the person who made this later what questions would you ask to establish if it is actually real? I have already asked to see the block chain but he said he didn't want to waste his programers times as when it launches it will be working with etherem when public so it will be a waste of time.

Also currently there are no wallets to download only the ones you see in your back room etc.

Another claim is that this coin is coin to be backed by gold. I.e. If the coin is worth 1 usd then you can trade it in for 20 cents of gold.

How does this all sound to you and  what questions would you ask as I will do today a bit later?

Is it safe to say that if you leave your mac computer switched off untill an update is ready you will be relatively safe?

2677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: September 24, 2014, 12:17:57 PM
Nullu no one is blaming anyone really it is merely a warning to people wanting to invest in Nxt. If they see it as a trust worthy coin then they must use a 3rd party random character generating app. Simple as that and if they dont they could well lose all their coin.
2678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: September 24, 2014, 08:35:21 AM
Hi the pass phrase I always use which are different every time is a mixture between Chinese pinyin and simple English words. So I guess you can really say they are random yes.
2679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: September 23, 2014, 01:42:05 PM
Bitcoin is more secure full stop. Also the nxt community should be warningh against these pass phrases if they are not secure. I am not blaming anyone for my own stupid mistake by chosing a pass phrase that the nxt community did  NOT think was a risk. I am merely posting this as a warning for new people who are thinking about buying nxt coins.

I would not wish this to happen to anyone else and I would not like any hacker to benefit from it.
So you have the same security pass phrase after reading this will you open a new account?
2680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: September 23, 2014, 01:27:11 PM
OK well it is funny how the nxt community didnt say it wasnt strong enough and they also said it could not be brute forced.

Anyway I am not here to argue about how amazingly secure this coin is. I bought it becasue of how I saw them promoting it all the time.

Anyway let this be a lesson to everyone. If you have a 'secure' password then it will be hacked and your coins will be stolen and then your pass phrase will be considered not secure.

I cant be bothered arguing about it anymore. I hope this serves as a warning to other people thats all.
