Fierce shelling in both Mariupol and Donetsk airport. At the same time, the Kiev forces were involved in a failed attempt to recapture the village of Telimanovo (between Mariupol and Lugansk). Battalion Azov of the Ukrainian army saying that they will not recognize the ceasefire. Igor Bezler warning that he will hit back if the Ukies attack. How many days this ceasefire will last?
Not a day. Even yesterday morning there were reports about clashes between units trying to infiltrate into enemy held territories. So both sides used that short break for troop and supply movements ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) .

sadly, your remarks are very shallow when studying geopolitics and crypto economy. whether one system being more superior or not is question to be answered once both systems eventually fail - its a long-term answer. after the ww2 the west decided to live using the ponzi scheme system on futures' wealth - the wealth that dont exist yet. obviously from the prospective of a person this system is superior because its generating better living conditions in short period of time, but the downfall of that system is that there will be a day when house of cards comes down stripping all the wealth away from other generations down the line. the soviet economical system is much harder to build since there is no non-existent wealth around - the wealth is only what physically exist. so by the end of 70s soviets managed to achieve very high standard living. give them 30-40 more years of non-interruptive development and they could have extremely stable non-crashing system with high quality of living that could last for centuries. though with arrival of gorbachev (& his masonic overlords) it all got dismantled from top to bottom. and please stop all the hatred. we are all human beings.
Well, as a tourist I had the opportunity to take a look at those "very high living standards" and to be honest I wasn't impressed at all. So you should review your sources.

ruSSian terrorists commit atrocity in Starobeshevo in Donetsk Oblast, hang body on wireSeptember 5, 2014 | 22:14 The body of a Ukrainian paratrooper was hanged on power lines in Starobeshevo. (video) The village is controlled by DNR, who hanged body of a murdered Ukrainian paratrooper on a power line and proudly wrote about this crime in the internet. In Irkutsk, a City Council member from the United Russia party, Gushchin, urged citizens, to "kill Ukrainians everywhere, not only in Novorossiya." And he did it for an obvious reason: his main rival in the election to the local council is a man of Ukrainian descent with the surname Matsenko. Russian propaganda works. The savagery didn't cause any indignation. http://podrobnosti.ua/accidents/2014/09/05/992120.html You never seen the effects of a big(ish) high explosive shell I guess. The explosion of a GRAD warhead somewhere close to it can turn a more than two tons UAZ "jeep" to plane (for a short time of course), so throwing a 80-100 kg human onto the cables above the road isn't new or surprising. You can find similar pictures from WW I and WW II. An internal explosion in a AFV can also throw the crew several meters high if the hatches are open. The half naked guy most likely the same stuff. Nearby explosions are tend to rip your clothes off. Combat vest and boots are usually doing well but as trousers are the most loose parts of the combat gear those are often go away. BTW even the very, very civilized US, UK, German and French soldiers used to take pictures with dead enemies. So nothing new or unusual again. You can read a lot about the psychology behind these kind of pictures.

Research on what.... Neither the s300 not the s400 have seen actual combat
They might be formidable but just as well they might prove useless and with the recent wars seeing tons of tons of Russian weapons turned into scrapmetal by the us forces I incline to the second of those two
On the age of the upgraded models. BTW the Patriot is also an old system but with all the upgrades it still a state of the art SAM system, however these system are also not very well tested against real enemy planes. OK it was tested against Iraqi "tuned" SCUD missiles, unsuspecting friendly aircrafts, and two old do it yourself Hamas drones ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . As I wrote earlier those Russian weapons were all the so called "Monkey models" aka downgraded export versions without all the fancy stuff what was built into the domestic models.

Like how the Iraqis underestimated the USA?
The iraqis had state of the art russian equipment, they spent a fortune on it.
Russian technology has proven itself to be JUNK. Believe your "Pravda",
REMEMBER it was individuals from the russian political system that coined the term "useful idiots".
How can I believe or trust a system so cynical that it considers its citizens "useful idiots"?
Iraqis had a lot of shitty export models, not the real stuff (just compare the T-72M with the T-72B). In addition that stuff was really old indeed and quite far from being state of the art. You don't have to believe in them, you just shouldn't underestimate them.

Lets ask you righties a question. Just what is the legal ramifications of attacking ISIS in Syria. You do or should understand that ISIS is also fighting Assad. So wiping out ISIS in Syria would be lending a helping hand to the Assad. You righties are so fucking underinformed of what is really going on and what Obama is up against.
You leftists and other PC maniacs do not understand that these guys will not stop when they reached the Syrian borders. In addition they don't have to go to the States for doing some harm, because of they are already there. These blokes are capable (or they will be capable shortly) to redraw the maps of the Middle-east, but today maybe not to late to hunt them down. You guys just doing the same what Baldwin and Chamberlain did in the thirties.

I've heard those myths and heard them again busted time over time. No nato plane should have come back from Serbia , no plane or tank from Irak none from Afghanistan yet all got crushed in one week
s-400? never tested in actual battle? You compare an army that has been tested in battle conditions for the last 70 years with all the modern technology with an army which is fed propaganda each day that they are the best with no combat experience and with 30-40 years old weapon systems.
And don't forget.. Nobody had a clue about the f117 the b2 or the sr-71
And all those are retired but money keep going into the so called "black projects". The russian won't even know what hit them till the war is over.
Serbians never had any S-400 or S-300 systems. However they managed to down some planes (f117 incl.) by using ancient S-3 SAMs. I'd suggest to do some research on those "30-40 years old weapon systems". BTW underestimating an opponent isn't a wise thing.

That "transatlantic coalition" can run into a big slap on the face if the Russians are really there. you didn't answer my questions, i'll remind you: how many more people are even angrier now at ukraine? how many are more sure that ballistic missiles are used? how many more separatists will join forces based solely on that reporting?
Oh, that question. OK. At first you shouldn't mix Ukraine with her government and her ruling elite. No issue with most of the Ukrainians, but as it's widely known their govt is a bunch of gangsters. If more separatist are joining that will happen because of the controversial actions of the elite. "BTW the wiki page have been modified quickly after my post ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . Good work." i modified it to reflect the actual data. do you disagree with modifications? you are free to make the article even better. I'm not used to modify stuff without factual knowledge about the actual events. So you shouldn't condemn the Russian media, because of doing the same as you. Anyway missile pieces are rarely laying around without launching them... as for rocket breaking down or detonating above the ground - that would imply the part that is on the video HAS FELL TO THE GROUND. i ask all of you who believe that was recently used rocket to watch the video again and see any evidence that this 500-1000KG beast fell to the ground. it just lies there broken, all important bits carefully ripped out of it(you can see that on the video). and notice how they never show front of the rocket - wouldn't it be most interesting bit to see?
The rear of a rocket is relative light after it consumed it's fuel and the warhead is no longer there, so it can decelerate enough from air resistance to survive the impact in good shape. I don't know this type of missile but as I said the rear part of the R-17 missiles are often landed in relative good condition. The burnt nozzle suggest that it was recently launched. it's funny how whenever something is fishy about ukraine you're always going apeshit crazy "they are hiding something" but when it's about ukraine using ballistic missiles - "no that video is perfect, there's nothing to doubt" ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Are you talking to me? Lay off that pipe mate.

Purpose of these missiles is usage against massive amount of vehicles and troops... These missiles should detonate on some distance from the surface, because shrapnel is the main damaging factor. So if it was hit the surface then it's possible that self-destruction was activated. Or maybe, it's just a detonation failure but it's unlikely because these weapons quite reliable.
P.S. Only scum would be able to use this kind of weapon against civilians.
If they used with fragmentation warhead then yes. With the HE warhead it should "touch down" to make a nice big crater and a huge blast wave.

way to completely dodge the question? we are talking here about that specific incident and that specific reporting where destruction of Proton rocket in 2013 was presented as use of ballistic missiles by ukrainian army in 2014. why are you not answering me?
and of those 4 links in wikipedia that are indicated as sources for "There is evidence of the use of these missiles in the Lugansk area in mid-August 2014." 3 are actually the same CNN report that is claiming some guys are saying someone has information about use of such weapons and another link is youtube video of some rocket LAYING ON THE GROUND. how do you imagine a 500kg warhead missile COMPLETELY surviving the explosion and just falling to the ground? and where are signs of explosion on the ground?
I've answered your question. Mistake. Period. That rocket is quite far from "COMPLETELY surviving". Thats about the third of the original size. Maybe it failed to detonate and broke up on the impact, but even if it detonates the rear section can be thrown away by the blast. I've seen both cases with the old R-17 missiles. BTW the wiki page have been modified quickly after my post ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . Good work.

i don't know anything about psaki but let me ask you this - considering that report on russian media and apparent absence of apology for incorrectly accusing ukraine in using BALLISTIC FUCKING MISSILES
what do you think the result is? how many more people are even angrier now at ukraine? how many are more sure that ballistic missiles are used? how many more separatists will join forces based solely on that reporting?
it seems you're completely taking out of equation effect media has on people's judgments and decisions.
Take a look at the "Use in combat" section of the SS-21 (OTR-21) page on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OTR-21_Tochka "There is evidence of the use of these missiles in the Lugansk area in mid-August 2014."

Lisa Monaco, President Barack Obama's assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, said in a statement that Obama authorized the mission because the U.S. "had what we believed was sufficient intelligence."
Well those guys overlooked six aircraft carriers in '41, some 800000 soldiers '67, another 600000 in '68, a revolution in '78, a few Russians around the Afghan border in '79 and the collapse of the Sovietunion in '91. Journalists are much smaller than those so I can understand their difficulties with finding them ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . But don't give up sometimes they can find even the non-existing WMDs. That's an improvement, isn't it?

"This is not the first media hack in history." is this your way of saying "yeah, that bit was russian propaganda, so what? that happens.." ?
No. I'm saying they missed to check their sources and the information itself before released the news. Are you saying that Jen Psaki blatantly lied and spread Ukrainian propaganda when she placed Astrakhan next to the Ukrainian border ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ?

i know it's the real world, but do you think it's the way things should be? also props for dodging the whole "russian media lies about ballistic missiles used by ukrainian army and uses baikonur rocket crash as a proof" issue ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I guess the first humans who got off the tree blamed the mud, the other hunters and the Chinese cudgel factories when they missed a mammoth ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . This thread here received some arguments but not hatred. If you can't grasp the difference then I feel sorry for you. BTW the bitcoin community don't need to change. It's open and diversified enough. Members/newcomers need to adapt, adopt and improve if they looking for wider acceptance. Just an idea: What do you think about not behaving like a sixteen years old basement dweller when someone doesn't agree with you? You know arguments and counter-arguments are not insults and differing opinions are not hatred.
