2661  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you ever trade at work? on: February 25, 2020, 05:09:18 PM
i've done it several times. but the problem is i have to connect internet from a general wifi of the office. that makes me feel uncomfortable. i don't know everybody in the office and it looked kinda risky for me.

Why would that be risky?

Unless your boss or your officemates are hacking through your PC or phone. To be honest, I am doing that at work but I am not always trading. I trade when it is my partner's shift but when it is my time, I just check the movement or the price changes that are happening. I think that is not risky since there are a lot of applications that you can use for that.

You probably don't know how easy it is to intercept packets that go through wifi. Read about packet sniffers.

Also you never know what people have been doing on computers at work. There can be some spyware installed and you don't want some random coworker to know your password.

2662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin declined 3% as the coronavirus spread in italy on: February 25, 2020, 04:31:09 PM
OP should really read the statistics. Most coronavirus victims and probably all who died in Italy were old and sick people who already had health problems.

This virus is very much like a normal flu and you should know that flu is not being treated by antibiotics or anything like that. When you get the common flu you are usually sick for a week and have high fever and muscle pains. All you have to do is drink a lot of water, lie in bed and keep the fever low by taking ibuprofen or other common painkillers.

7 people died from coronavirus. Car accidents claim over 3000 lives per year in Italy. Should we dump our BTC because of that?
2663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take the latest Crypto Quiz and find out if you are the next Satoshi Nakamoto! on: February 25, 2020, 04:17:12 PM
Some of your answers could use some work.

Question 4 on the "expert quiz" is a bit of a stretch. The only thing which really determines market price is supply and demand. Media coverage and technical issues or development may influence levels of demand, but they don't influence the price directly (unless some huge technical issue suddenly changed the circulating supply, such as if ECDSA was broken and Satoshi's coins re-entered the market).

The answer to question 7 is wrong. You sign messages and transactions with your private key, not your public key.

In question 10, Merkle trees are used to verify data, they aren't used to store it.

I also did the expert part and had no problems with technical questions but this one got me as I chose "supply and demand" and will argue that this is what really decides the price.
Saying that media coverage is as important is dumb and makes the whole question look like a joke.

I also took a shot in that intraday price difference question and got it right, but I wouldn't expect anybody but traders to know that. You don't have to be a trader to be a Bitcoin expert!

The 7 was probably corrected already because I chose private key and got a point for it.

So, I got 9/10 right in the expert quiz, but at least 2 questions were completely random and unrelated to your knowledge of BTC.
2664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Stakenet - Next short term 10x - Here's why. on: February 24, 2020, 10:09:07 PM
I think that the creation of DEX will not help to make the price grow 10x. This is not the time for DEXs yet. Unfortunately, but people still do not understand the advantage of DEXs. I think that it takes 2-3 years to become more popular and then it will matter.

I agree. The market is too small and too saturated by centralized exchanges. If their whole marketing plan relies on the popularization of their DEX it will fail.

For Dex to succeed and overtake the centralized exchanges there would have to be a big disaster that would scare people and make them withdraw from CEX and move to DEX. A ban on CEX that would make DEX trading the only way to exchange could work. Without it CEX will continue to dominate.
2665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For those who wears a signature of gamble service campaigns on: February 24, 2020, 09:55:15 PM
Guys, I think most participants here wears a signature os a campaign, and most of them are for gamble services

My question is: Do you spend the money you gain with the service you are working for?

Sometimes I do some gamble, and I always prefer to spend the money on the website that are paying me, I think it's fair and a way to say thanks  Grin

To be honest, I don't use it on them, because it would be like you will just give it back to them in just seconds, and you spent some time to earn that money completing their required post every week. For me it is not just worth it, and it is already fair because we are wearing their signature to promote their gambling business, now, it is up to us on whether if we are going to use it on them or not.

I'm not a gambler but I've tried it a couple of times and decided to quit it in an instant because it is really addicting and money consuming, lol.

It's easy for you to say because you are NOT advertising anything at the moment. The question was directed ad paid promoters.

I sometimes do but not a lot. Maybe 1% of what I earned at most. I have a few things that I'm saving up to buy and don't want to take a risk before I'm able to get it.

I like the casino that i'm promoting and I have gambled there, but not in the last few weeks.
2666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Started Gambling Because You Want To Be Part Of A Gambling Campaign on: February 24, 2020, 09:16:36 PM
For me it was the other way round. I used to gamble but not read the gambling section or post here. Since I joined the campaign years ago I started to read about the problems the users of this forum have with their addiiction and it made me gamble much less than before.

I'm still planning to be a part of the campaign because I cannot say no to good and honestly earned money, but doing it won't make me gamble more.
2667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't just hold your altcoins for a long time! on: February 24, 2020, 07:53:49 PM
Shitcoins tend to swap because their value to the dollar is so low.

I watched that shitcoin BTK being swapped and even if you held it and did everything right you'd still lose value because the new coin after the swap was worth much less proportionally to the pre-swap version. It's like they're trying to make it tradeable again but it's still not enough in most cases.

You see a coin undergo a swap? Stay away from it.
2668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here is What Price i Will Sell My BTC During the Next Bull Cycle on: February 24, 2020, 07:44:56 PM
And I won't be selling my bitcoins in the next bull cycle. I'm pretty sure this isn't going to be the last one and already planning to do it at 55 thousand when we aren't even at 15 is a waste of time if you ask me.

OP is dreaming about what he'll do when he gets rich and in the meantime he'll get old dreaming and his Bitcoins will be at 50 thousand but he won't sell because he assumed the right level is 55 Cheesy
2669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Destroying Bitcoin with a single question on: February 23, 2020, 11:19:14 PM
Money should not have real value. Money (fiat or cryptocurrency) is just a temporary measure of the value of any goods or services. Some things or services have value, money is just a tool to achieve any goal, since it is convenient in the modern world. We must not forget about it. Cryptocurrency is more suitable for these purposes than fiat money.

Fiat also doesn't have real value but rather promised value. The paper is not worth anything and banks don't have enough gold and other metals to give fiat money its value.

It's all based on trust. The buyer trusts that the seller will accept his paper money and the seller trusts that if he sells the item his supplier will accept paper money and provide him with another item for sale. If any point in this circle of trust fails the whole system will fail.

Fiat money isn't better than crypto.
2670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling or Casino gambling? on: February 23, 2020, 10:59:30 PM
A real casino beats online gambling every time for me but the choice will always depend on your character. Some people are afraid to go out because they're introverts, others are afraid of others watching them and seeing their losses.

The main disadvantage of real casinos is that they aren't widely available. I just don't see how somebody would travel 50km to play a round of dice. If you don't live near a casino you will obviously gamble online. Some require a dress code which can be another hurdle.
2671  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is review hunt platform really worth ful on: February 23, 2020, 10:53:06 PM
It's not passive income because they are paying you for a work that you are going to do and congratulations for the developer for setting up a site like this, there's so many ICO attempt a project like this but they just run away with investors and did not fulfill their roadmap, I just knew something like this can be done even without an ICO.

Good point. This is a passive income for the site owner as they're making money on each task you perform.

The business model is based on gathering active bounties and putting them all in one place with a reduced reward. I guess when they're offering you 1 USD the real reward is 1.5 or 2 USD. This isn't a bad deal for OP provided the site is not a scam.

It sucks bigtime when you do need to comply any KYC from these micro task just for you to earn pennies.I dont see the word "worthy" into this one.

Also this one;

"Download / Activities
Download ROR GAME and sign-up via Google Login
Listed 22 days ago

$0.15
for each hunter"

I wont risk on downloading something just to get 15 cents.LOL!

There are sites that used to offer $15-$20 if you registered and completed KYC. Those tasks for a few cents are a joke.
2672  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Smartmixer.io hacked and Db being sold on Darkmarket on: February 23, 2020, 10:46:19 PM
The site appears to be operating normally, though it's a bit suspicious that their ANN thread was recently locked.

Their local ANN thread (which was created just 2 days ago) is also locked. Not sure what the reason is, probably an update on their design. But who knows.

If OP can give more info it would be good.

Their last message is about them having to fight off a DDOS attack so this would explain why they're down. If the attack appeared before the weekend it's even more likely they won't be able to get it fixed before Monday.

There's no proof that their database was leaked. Many times people were trying to scam buyers who wanted to obtain leaked data. Trading with thieves is always a bad idea.
2673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Methods that fraudsters use to scam people on: February 23, 2020, 10:39:43 PM
It's really getting tougher, keeping oneself safe from scammers and fraudsters. I'm surprised that one can lose his personal information simply by charging phones. In the region where I come from, people charge their phone anywhere they can, due to the issue of epileptic power supply. I only hope that we don't run into the hands of Scammers who uses malwares through charging points.

Not really, the basics remain the same. You have to be suspicious of offers that look too good to be true and keep your passwords safe.

Most people don't lose money because they got hacked or their communication was intercepted. They willingly send their money to scammers out of stupidity, greed, or both.
2674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRON (TRX) Coin Future Price ? on: February 23, 2020, 09:25:45 PM
I think TRON is a very popular coin, after BTC' price halving the USD price of TRON will be doubling by the end of 2020.
It is because Justin is spending millions on marketing and shilling campaigns but the coin has to finally deliver some product.

Now the wheel is turning because new people are coming with money and the money is spend on bringing in new people and we have a closed ecosystem.

What if the limit is reached and nobody else is interested in buying TRX? They will have a choice deliver some breakthrough like a mainstream adoption or a deal with a tech giant or face bankruptcy.
2675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Consider All Altcoins Bad on: February 23, 2020, 08:38:02 PM
Not all but most of them are bad.

I'm not a total bitcoin maximalist but a very close to being one so I see maybe 1 of every 100 altcoins as important to the economy and able to achieve something. The other 99/100 are just not needed and they copy and repeat the ideas from other projects with a small twist like a different mining algorithm. This is only done to make more money from people who weren't able to mine the original and think they can succeed with the newest clone.
2676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: As a Bounty hunter, don't expect too much on: February 23, 2020, 08:27:52 PM
The best way to get good profit from bounties is to sell quickly once trading starts, this way you will get good reward and you can buy back when the price goes down
Sometimes dumps happen so fast that you won't be able to get a good price. When the floodgates open everyone will want to do the same thing.
If you miss that ppoint and see the coin is looking like it's oversold already it could be a good idea to wait and see if it recovers.

Not all coins are total shitcoins that keep dumping to 0 and if you happened to hold that worst shitcoin you've screwed up by joining the bounty, not by not being the first to sell.

2677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outdated, Loves Ethereum on: February 23, 2020, 05:47:08 PM
John love the money, that's all there is to it.

He used to like Bitcoin when people were asking him for interviews and were amazed by his Bitcoin predictions but then the bear market came and john's predictions didn't work out.

Altcoin pumpers hired him to support them so he liked altcoins and now even those altcoins removed him from their boards so he doesn't work for shitcoiners and can't go back to Bitcoin so now he's trying to be an ETH supporter. What a sad old man.
2678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP ready to make an Epic rally... on: February 23, 2020, 12:28:25 AM
The CEO of Ripple started to talk shit about BTC on TV and suddenly people are thinking XRP is big and popular again and it's going to rally Cheesy

If it does it will not be organic but rather a FOMO made by people who don't know why they would need XRP and who don't use XRP because nobody does but they buy it because others are buying it.

2679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: list top 10 exchange in the market on: February 23, 2020, 12:20:57 AM
What is the top 10 exchanges which all the investors trust it?
For me https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges is providing the best list of the trusted exchange site with actual volume without the manipulation that created by the marketcap site itself. coingecko is better than CMC.
There was a trust score method that can determine the best exchange site. You can get it on the cryptorank.io too.

I wouldn't trust that list too much. It has Poloniex listed on 5th place with a trust score of 10. It started to decline since it was sold to Circle. I wouldn't give it 10. Poloniex is having issues and is not going to survive on thsi market without major changes.

Also many of the listed exchanges are local and popular in certain regions like China. Some allow US citizens some don't. It's hard to say which exchanges are the best worldwide if you don't have access to them from your country.
2680  Economy / Economics / Re: Goverments creating digital currencies - Threat or Opportunity? on: February 22, 2020, 10:54:10 PM
Become an opportunity if government created cryptocurrency and go ahead with listing in bigger exchange market or have own market, then keep continue promoting and looking best partnership for government coin, I think this way will make many investor love and want invest there with higher amount.

This actually gives an opportunity to their country's citizen because it means government would be making it legal or it is legal already and such coins in long term would definitely do better as it is backed by government and in coming times government would be bringing it as a mode of payment for various business and would encourage other people also to make the digital payment. This would boost the demand of such coins and price will rise.

Really? You think it's an opportunity? How is a government issued centralized crypto different from fiat money? You can make digital payments using a bank app installed on your phone. You don't need government crypto for that.

What opportunity does it give to the people? They will give them fake crypto to make them not buy the real thing and continue to watch and control their every move.
