2661  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: June 29, 2023, 01:28:19 PM

I am a person who loves equality and justice in life, so I realize the problem is that it is so, so how to turn negative things into positive, and increase more positive things in life.

Despite our believe that things should be normal and that people should be equal to one another as human beings with the same features making us humans , we have to also know it within our minds that equality exist in the minds and not in reality whether in economic status, politics or family background which is even the strongest point to place someone on a particular level. It is unfortunate that we see social injustice everywhere in our daily lives which gives other the added advantage that they have rode on. The egalitarian society that is conceived by some social philosophers seem not to be near achievement because opportunities keep pushing the rich and poor apart.
2662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bitcoin retirement plan with a disturbing length of years. on: June 29, 2023, 11:21:19 AM

I want to ask if it's good for somebody to use half of it's saves to invest in bitcoins, will the person make it in bitcoins industry or it's good for someone to start small in bitcoin investment with little capital because of lose that is involve for Bitcoin investment,

It is better to do your bitcoin investment gradually and not to be greedy about it to put as much as half your savings into it.  In the market, no doubt there are ups and downs so you need some reserve to be able to do some other expenses that will come your way while your bitcoin investment is running. Like they say invest with the money you can forego incase it doesn't come back to you in profit. However bitcoin is the most guarantee in the cryptocurrency investment but do it wisely and not greedy, life is a step after another.
2663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which League Makes Sports Betting Easy to Win? on: June 29, 2023, 09:00:24 AM

By the way, what I have noticed very frequently (and in fact has very low odds and some of them not expressed) concerns the "under xx goal" market bets on the Argentine Soccer market.
Compared to other leagues, they occur more often.
Only problem, the odds are very low. And some likewise "under <6.5" are not provided by bookmakers Sad

The unders betting tips are good for leagues where goals don't often come in like the Argentine. In fact most of the South American leagues are like that including Brazil especially in the first halfs of their games. Yes you should expect a lower odds from them because they appear to be easier to win so the odds have to ridiculously reduced so that you want to add numerous more games to them which will also limit your winning chances because in betting, the more games you include in your slip the greater possibility of losing the bet. So sometimes you could have 10 under xx goals and the odds together will not be more than 3 odds and that is not encouraging for 10 games.
2664  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: June 29, 2023, 06:32:54 AM
I see you have posted in the stake thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2072589.0. I think that will be the right place to draw more attention to the challenges that you have narrated here. I checked stunna is not signed in after June 7th, maybe you can drop pm for him and be patient. Someone could take it up for you there .
2665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Imtoken Amazing Feature on: June 28, 2023, 09:39:33 PM
Imtoken is an erc20 wallet and it is very simple features and easy to use, although I have not noticed the feature on their swap market exchange that you are talking about because I have always used it with etheruem on it. That is very nice feature and it will really help to carry on with transaction when etheruem is not available there.
2666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: June 28, 2023, 08:55:24 PM

If this should be implemented will it affect bitcointalk casinos?

How is that a problem with the forum? I was reading through your post and felt you didn't see you were talking about a single country, Australia.  Australians can be affected but not the forum. Moreover, it is just the ads and gambling will still be going on there. I think that could be a policy to limit advertisement probably to protect the under age bettors. If ads are banned it will only bring low turnout for casinos running ads in Australia only but if same casino is running ads in other country then it is still not an issue. This is just a lesser concern on the Australian bettors and under aged.
2667  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Africans truly gain independence from the West? on: June 28, 2023, 08:12:00 PM

Who controls the African people? Africans in government. They can't rely on the people they elect to maintain important affairs, so don't rely on them at all.

Africa is the architect of what is happening to the continent and that is leadership. African countries almost all have leaders who rigg themselves into political offices and this is the greatest undoing of the African states. There is a saying that when the head of a fish is rotten, then the whole body is bound to also decay. This is the fact about the African continent but look at some of the Asian countries who also faced this colonialism with Africa, they have moved away from mundane suckling on the host or colonial countries. Countries like India that was colonized by Britain, Dutch, Portugal French, they are almost competing with these countries economies or is it China that was also colonized by some of the mentioned countries like Britain, Portugal etc, they have very robust economy because they have moved away from that mindset of dependency but Africa have not yet done that, until they find a niche for themselves they will still be subservient in the league of nations.

2668  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin pumping when the economy is heading into a recession? on: June 28, 2023, 04:54:38 PM
During halving, the market becomes erratic until it takes a particular position before the halving so don't be confused about that. The recession or not is not going to affect bitcoin the way you are looking at it especially now it is getting closer for the next season of bull run. Around the COVID-19 time that it was suppose to be a bear but because it just had the split, it didn't have any draw back to price increase to $64k. Bitcoin is decentralised and it doesn't really depend on the number of fiat in circulation.
2669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: June 28, 2023, 03:29:13 PM

Thus, several people can become unhappy because of one fool who decides to make money on gambling.

Yes I have seen some families that are in a disarray because a member of the parents especially the father has become so engrossed in it that it makes the wife bitter enough to start disrespecting the husband and family members. Usually wives don't like their husbands to be known with gambling as a source of income but sometimes because of lack of employment, some men fall into helpless situation that they run into gambling and do that in an unreasonable way. Gambling is not to be taken as the only source of income, even those claiming to be professional gamblers also have other specialties they belong in. Some are graphic designers and other online outfits.
2670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's find out which gambling game is the most played among our community... on: June 28, 2023, 01:59:30 PM
It is football for me. That top my list of priority in the gambling adventure. It is more publicised and makes the whole environment aware that something is happening especially during the weekends. Most of the during the season, weekends are made to be fun for me especially with EPL but apart from that I also enjoy other leagues like LaLiga.

I like sport matches, sometimes tennis, but football most times. The issue I get with sport betting is they are of low odds. The high odd ones are not encouraging to go for because the chance to win such odds is negligible.

Sometimes those high odds are the game changer. You don't need to line them up in your slip, you only need to either pick one of it and bet it separately but boost the potential with reasonable staking power and you may be lucky. High odds are better played alone or you can pick just two in different leagues instead of one league.
2671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: June 28, 2023, 01:00:11 PM
There are many people who know that they will not win the national lottery but consider their small role in the development of the country as consolation.

Do people really play lottery with the mindset of contributing money to help develop their country ? Lol I doubt that. Lottery is also gambling and despite that some gamblers say they do that for fun , it is not always the reason. Maybe they play with little money and don't invest their emotion on winning but definitely they wish to win. So likewise lottery, people play it to try their hands on winning not because they want to solely contribute to the country's financial development even though the money generated from lottery tickets are said to be utilized as taxing for the development of facilities but individuals don't play for just the fun of contributing to development. Every gambler wants to increase his stake in multiple cash.
2672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST TIMEZONE FOR SPORTsBETTING on: June 28, 2023, 11:45:19 AM

HOW I HAVE TO SAY IM TALKING ABOUT LIVE LIVE LIVE LIVE BETS ON LIVE MARKETS

How is this possible that time zone will have to determine when preferably that a sports betting will be a winning one. I mean if there is an EPL match going on in England, it appears in different time zones across the other countries and continent so what does that change? If for example like you are saying, your favourable time zone to bet and win a match is 7pm GMT and the match between Manchester city and  West Ham is starting by 2pm GMT in your zone while you are sure Man city was going to win, you won't bet on it because it is not 7pm GMT? Well IMO I don't think time zone works for sports betting, the analysis of the match, the odds matters more to betting a match not time zone.
2673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: June 28, 2023, 07:31:40 AM

If I may know if they offer a guarantee of how the presentation of the prediction accuracy they made? And maybe if I want to go inside there, I must know the historical traffic of their predictions as an indication of the interest in joining.

Well I have seen or belonged to quite a few of them, what they do is at times they are biase to post losses often unlike they will post that of their winning and most of the loses posts out are from the free prediction sections and winnings from the paid groups especially the VIP section. This is indicative of saying that a non subscribers of paid should do so and enjoy some of the winnings but this not so right and guarantee because they don't post much of the loses from the paid sections. It is a marketing strategy for them to win more cash from the non subscribers not to stand by the side track to enjoy what people who "pay" do enjoy. But I'm not convinced on that most times because I understand that not all prediction from pay groups come as winnings.
2674  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: This increment of Fuel price in Nigeria on: June 27, 2023, 09:29:33 PM
The politicians are insensitive to the feeling of the people, poverty dey everywhere but dem no want know about that one but instead dem go try carry more money enter house. Now we dey hear say dem want share the subsidy money wey comot whether na rumour we never know, inside every rumour small truth go dey inside. Them no even talk about refinery but na how to share money dem get interest even NLC self no dey help matter.

Na better statement you just talk my brother man, because truly what I expected after the removal of this fuel subsidy matter na for Federal government to start to talk about reviving our old abandoned refineries back to start functioning again, so that we could no more keep buying fuel anymore. Because of what benefits will it be if the money is distributed,  of which I'm sure how the Covid-19 palliative ended up in the warehouses of top politicians, which I'm sure that's likewise how this money go be if shared. Because instead of sharing, they should use the money to create companies that will employ the youth.

No be lie my brother, the matter tire person no be small. When president Goodluck Jonathan been remove the subsidy, na same people enter street go say dem do do occupy Nigeria and even then we see paliatives wey him bring then in buses wey try to reduce transportation cost, even then fuel na #145 but wetin we see today na #550 / #600 yet no palliative anywhere. When dem even talk about sharing money, the thing dey funny and shameful, how? Like say dem fit let money reach everyone abi na dem go still carry am enter house like dem do for COVID-19. I go dey wonder say dem no fit use BVN send money enter people account. Nigeria na the more you look the less you see.
2675  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: CBN Mandate Banks to Use Social Media Handle for Customer's KYC on: June 27, 2023, 05:34:44 PM

The CBN’s latest move aims to bolster compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) provisions while aligning with international best practices.

Na them them . The people wey dey launder money na which people my brother? Abi no be them ? Na them them. If them catch them now, wetin dem go do? Nothing. Highest dem go do plea bargain and collect their own from the money. Leave Nigerian government.

In an effort to enhance the accuracy and depth of customer identification, the CBN has made it mandatory for financial institutions to collect and verify customers’ social media handles as part of their Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
Now, Wetin Una think? Abeg say your mind.

Sometimes you go just see say Nigerian government dey far from the people. Dem forget say social media no be every person wey get bank account dey social media. Wetin happen to phone numbers? I think say na the same reason wey carry BVN and NIN come, dem don leave those ones come enter Facebook, WhatsApp, tweeter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit etc

Them never tell us where dem dey pursue us go.
2676  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Latest Statement from the Nigerian president. on: June 27, 2023, 03:02:20 PM
All those talk na bobo talk. An innocent person fears no accusation. Him sabi say him no win the election by no means, na him and INEC follow run wetin him do on to say some people feel say dem go do as them like. Because no be him win be the reason wey make all him line for speech dey enter on the votes,on who vote for him or not. Make him make speech wey make sense, abi we hear anything wey him to for france for the summit, if no be so so greet him dey greet people. E easy to run the government but the thing be say dem dey carry d thing do business. Na ball dem dey play that's why they are not sincere. When they enter the place na the money dem spend for election dem dey arrange to collect by every corrupt way and before you say jack another election time don appear.
2677  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoins, religious leaders and the government on: June 27, 2023, 02:10:22 PM

Until this gap is covered by crypto learned people in the government house and religious places , it may continue to post some kind of threat.

No I think na until government begin provide better enabling environment for the people and youths of the country to help themselves at least get job or other engagements and dem stop the high level of corruption, nepotism and who you know for the country then tins go still dey as e dey and youths go still dey ball with btc.

I know say some people no dey make profit for the bitcoin trading but dem still dey manage like that because at all at all na dat one bad.

I don see some religious people wey dey gamble oo. Hunger dey the land.
2678  Economy / Economics / Re: Ruto Calls for a new financial architecture on: June 26, 2023, 09:20:52 PM
Well, not trying to be rude but I think this question is not asked at the right place because you specifically asked this question from Africans. So, I think it will be a good idea if you could ask this question in you local board if you have.

Thank you but it is just an open discussion that ensued from the financial summit in paris and nothing more attached to it. It is a topic that is based on economy of the world after they discussed climate change financing. So it is just a thread to talk on the issues arising from the New Global Finantial Pact Summit.
2679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: June 26, 2023, 08:24:32 PM

Are there people who intentionally waits for a match to start before betting on them?

It is not intentional but a feature that is now introduce in betting depending on the company, they call it different name in the options, it is either in-game betting, in-play or something else but what I know and have heard bettors discuss on it is that the odds are reduced that it will not be encouraging to bet on.

Can you bet on a game once it starts?

Quote
Live betting goes by many names. Depending on the sportsbook, you might see it called in-play or in-game betting. They all mean the same thing, which is betting on a contest that's underway. Whereas pre-game bets are processed before a contest starts, live bets happen amid the action.

I prefer to bet on a match even some days  ahead of the match because the games would always have some more better odds by then.

Yes it is the practice that when you bet games ahead of time, the odds is higher than when the game come closer, if the game approaches then the odd is reduced. This is because when the time approach, more publications and revelations would have been made about the team regarding the features, the players fitness, injury, bench and reserve against the strength of the opponent.
2680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: June 26, 2023, 06:57:54 PM

Cast your bet in a match that have yet not started or bet when the game is already live?

I think betting when the game is already up is another features in football gambling that some pundits like now because it provides an opportunity to be able to decide where the pendulum will swing to. By that, the bettor can access the options he is considering like how many corner kicks the second half could produce, throw-in etc

Found myself losing when the money line changes from 1.75 to 4.35 as the game began. But sometimes when I also wait for the game to start, it changes to worse such from 1.75 to 1.10

It is more like you can't eat your cake and have it. If you want to take the full risk of the game then you will be rewarded more but if you choose the lesser risk then your reward will be reduced. I think it is well understood that way. I know many bettors are caught between this web but it is really a new innovation that many have taken advantage of.
