2661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: October 26, 2020, 04:26:56 PM
Top 3 teams are almost through to the playoffs and they would need to fail miserably in the upcoming matches to cause any big upsets which I doubt will happen. The 4th spot has always been the complicated one.

KKR and Punjab have the best chances to grab it while SRH and RR could grab it of they win their remaining matches. It's really tough to predict in this case due to the recent upsets that JSRAW pointed out.

If Punjab wins today's match, then both KKR and KXIP will be on 12 points each. But the problem is that, compared to the top-3 teams, their run rate is not that good. So they need to win the remaining two matches very convincingly, if they want to progress to the next stage. Regarding SRH and RR, I don't think they have much chance to qualify. Their net run rate is also quite bad.
2662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: October 26, 2020, 01:56:09 PM
4 back to back upsets.

-KKR thrashing win against DC
-KXI beautiful heist against SRH
-CSK winning the game against RCB
-RR beating mighty MI

League games are about to finish soon, still no team got direct entry in Playoffs. Anyone expecting any surprises?

I would say that MI is almost assured of a place in the playoffs. They have 14 points, and the net run rate is very good. Two other teams with 14 points each - Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. They should qualify, if there are no surprises. Then we have KKR with 12 points. So I would assume that these four teams would qualify for the playoffs. But given all the upsets we had during the last few days, predicting is quite tough.
2663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to call the people into crypto on: October 26, 2020, 01:46:57 PM
Do you think now is the right time to call the people into crypto world?
So you want to call people because of DeFi hype? Absolutely No!

If you tell them to invest on DeFi project will earn ROI 100% etc, you might be better to shut up and don't tell them about crypto. You can check YAM, all of the investors on deficit since the price got massive dump (from $90 to $1)

Don't invest if you don't know how the coin/token works.

Agreed. It will be better to keep this DeFi hype separate from the greater cryptocurrency market. Obviously a great majority of the DeFi projects are going to fail, or end up as scams. Recommending DeFi projects and linking them with Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies will erode investor confidence. If DeFi needs exposure, then let the respective project teams take care of that. Please leave cryptocurrency sector alone.
2664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 26, 2020, 01:36:11 PM
Haha nice one.

He can do some fine job in both department, he's arguably one of the finest fielder in the world and if dare to say then only Jonty Rhodes come close to him.  Grin

CSK needs serious introspection and they need to take some tough decisions. Deadweight needs to be removed and I would be happy if they start with Kedar Jadhav. Irrespective of the experience and closeness to the top people, non-performing players needs to be kicked out and young blood needs to be brought in. I am not sure about Suresh Raina. It looks to me that the relationship between him and CSK management is permanently ruined. In that case, he may be moving to another franchise, and it is going to be a big loss for the CSK.
2665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulation possible? Regulation Inevitable? on: October 26, 2020, 01:25:09 PM
The cryptocurrency market cap has reached the $400 billion level. At this point, regulation is inevitable. Do you really think that the governments will allow cryptocurrency to remain unregulated? As a first step, they are going to eliminate the Bitcoin mixers, so that it will be difficult for users to remain anonymous. Next stage would be to give details of your cryptocurrency holdings in the income tax returns. Already they have outlawed anonymous debit cards, which can be charged with cryptocurrency.
2666  Other / Archival / Re: DeFi hyip is over? on: October 26, 2020, 01:15:02 PM
I never understood the reason why investors in cryptocurrency sector pump tens of millions of USD in projects where not even the initial phase of development is complete. Some of these projects do have good ideas. But before pouring in so much money, shouldn't they check whether the development team is capable of completing the project on time? This was the reason why the IEO/ICO sector went down. Now the same is repeating with DeFi.
2667  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: October 26, 2020, 11:50:11 AM
The thing is do we have a choice?if we feel suffering and frustrating would this help us?sure the answer is no so what we need is to move on and find good things inside this pandemic.

Yeah many dies and lost their jobs but there are others that find beneficial using Online services and now they are successful just in a matter of 6 months or even bellow.

When difficult situations come, you need to adjust according to it. You can't run away or remain depressed. Economy is in a bad state and it may take many years to get back to the previous level. But eventually an economic recovery is going to occur around the globe and in case you are prepared for it, then there is a good chance that you will benefit in terms of financials.
2668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Less Volatile Coins on: October 26, 2020, 11:43:24 AM
If the OP is referring to stablecoins, I need to remind him that there is no point in investing in them. Stablecoins are just fiat currencies in crypto format. Rather than investing in these stablecoins, you can directly invest in fiat currency (in the form of bonds, savings deposits or even banknotes). Stablecoins are tokens issued by exchanges and therefore the risk is there.
2669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrencies have the lowest transaction fees? on: October 26, 2020, 11:21:08 AM
I've been using XRP most of the time before, not only because it has fast transaction but also it has lower fees cost USD 0.0002, and peaked at USD 0.42. That's XRP's average transaction fee. And now I found out about TRON which has zero transaction fees. And you can even send a million dollars in TRX to anywhere in the world in seconds and never have to pay a fee. That's really amazing right while the ETH gas fee as of now is rising a lot.

XRP is much more volatile when compared to the other cryptocurrencies and I don't have a good impression regarding that coin. Long-term holding with XRP is not recommended because of its high amount of centralization. The transaction fee may be low, but then you have other low-fee options available, such as Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum Classic.
2670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 26, 2020, 09:26:37 AM
Yes CSK wants MSD as the skipper for the next season and in the future but will MSD remain as the captain after the next season is questionable?

Average age is a issue only when your players are not fit. CSK squad fitness level is not that bad, hence age is not the issue. There are players in the team who are taking their position for granted and these players need to be chucked out and new players should be given a chance.

I would agree with the last part of your post. There are players such as Kedar Jadhav, who are completely useless. If they don't have the necessary skills to face world class bowlers, then it is understandable. But the issue with Jadhav is that he doesn't even want to score runs and wastes a lot of deliveries during the final phase of the innings. I understand that he is one of the players with good relations with powerful people. But for the CSK, it may be better to give him the role of the fielding coach or the physio, rather than wasting a crucial slot in the playing XI.
2671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: October 26, 2020, 08:46:49 AM
Opinion polls on last election were showing Hillary Clinton as a clear winner but the results turned out to be different. No media in US are neutral enough and all of their polls are biased to some extent. And the Electoral college counting system in US means it's not always the popular candidate or the candidate who gets the most votes wins. In the last election it was Hillary Clinton who got the most votes and it was Donald Trump who became the president due to the electoral college system.

As a result of the electoral college system, the results from 3-4 states will decide the outcome of the 2020 presidential elections. In terms of importance, these states are: Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina and Arizona. Trump needs to win at least 3 out of these 4. If he loses 2 of these states, then Biden wins. I would even say that the winner of Pennsylvania will decide the outcome. If Biden wins Pennsylvania, then he becomes the POTUS. If Trump wins the state, then he gets 4 more years.
2672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling could be used to pay for covid problems on: October 26, 2020, 06:37:27 AM
This has been tried before and it is not very practical. Most of these online gambling sites are registered in small island nations such as Dominica or the Cayman Islands. There is hardly anything that the European Union can do about them. They will avoid paying taxes to the EU, even if a majority of the revenue originates from there. Banning these sites is of no use. In no time they will clone the site and restart the operations.
2673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't wait until I can pay using bitcoin at the supermarket on: October 26, 2020, 06:26:32 AM
Here in India, I have been shopping from supermarkets using Bitcoin for the last one year. Here is how I do it:

1. I get Amazon Gift Cards in exchange for Bitcoin
2. I add the gift card to my Amazon Pay balance
3. I shop from Big Bazaar (largest super market chain in India) and make the payment using Amazon Pay.

Another method is to purchase Big Bazaar gift cards, either directly using Bitcoin, or using Amazon Pay.
2674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: October 26, 2020, 04:42:17 AM
Next one is basically a decider guys. So many underdogs have won in this season so far. Very few expected KKR and CSK to bounce back spectacularly though it's a bit too late for CSK now. RR still has a small chance to make it through to the playoffs though I wouldn't bet on it.

If KKR wins, I think they would almost qualify and Punjab is out. Am betting on KKR this time around since Punjab were very lucky in their last game against SRH.

KXIP has won 4 matches in a row, after losing 5 matches consecutively. On the other hand, KKR has lost 3 out of their last 5 matches. Gayle hasn't anything superhuman till now, but his presence in the playing XI has improved their team balance. The momentum is with KXIP and KKR is not doing that well.. so I expect KXIP to win today. But I am not sure whether they will be able to qualify.
2675  Economy / Economics / Re: Government slowly open the economy, will it make the pandemic worst? on: October 25, 2020, 01:47:13 PM
By now, people have realized that all the BS we have been fed about the Coronavirus is wrong. The fatality rate for healthy people is less than 0.1% and there is no point in staying at home for unlimited periods. Enough damage has been done to the economy, and now time has come to restart it. To see how dangerous COVID 19 actually is, just look at what happened to Donald Trump. He's 74 years and still he was released from the hospital in a couple of days.
2676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrencies have the lowest transaction fees? on: October 25, 2020, 01:32:05 PM
If you want to compare Bitcoin, then you have BCH and BSV which have transaction fee as low as $0.001. On the other hand, if you want to compare Ethereum, then you have ETC (Ethereum Classic) which is having much lower transaction fee (as low as $0.0004). Then we have other coins such as Litecoin, DogeCoin and Dash. I like Monero for its anonymity, but the transaction fee can be a bit higher than coins such as Dash and Litecoin.
2677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why didn't PayPal decided to use xrp than Bitcoin? on: October 25, 2020, 01:26:30 PM
Whatever you have been told about shitcoin XRP is a lie. They claim that they have a market cap of $11.5 billion but it is heavily inflated. If all the XRP comes in to free-float, then the market cap will be less than $1 billion. Also, more than 80% of the circulating supply is controlled by a handful of promoters such as Chris Larsen and Brad Garlinghouse. They keep their coins in cold storage and the moment they dump these coins, XRP will lose more than 90% of its value.
2678  Economy / Economics / Re: China is looking to get rid of the US dollar on: October 25, 2020, 01:19:50 PM
This is not necessarily a bad news for the United States Dollar. There is still a lot of demand for United States Treasury Bonds and the annual rate is like 1.5% per year for the 10-year old bond. Also, foreign governments such as Japan continue to accumulate American bonds. Also, we need to understand that even the Chinese don't think that the value of the bonds are going down. They are dumping them, because they are wary of potential sanctions and embargoes.
2679  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: October 25, 2020, 01:13:15 PM
Indeed, it is very sad that things turn out so badly in Venezuela, the oil-rich country, the reason for sure is mismanagement. This idiot who issues orders to print more paper currency will lead to further economic decline in the country. Printing more papers that have no value is not the answer.

I am not sure whether the "idiot" had any other option available with him. Government servants and the armed forces needs to be paid and the only thing they can do is to print more banknotes (even if they are completely worthless). Anyway, this is a lesson to all the governments out there, especially in the Latin American region. When you have surplus money, you need to save at least a part of it.
2680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: October 25, 2020, 01:07:20 PM
The seventh season of Indian Super League is scheduled to start by the third week of November. This time eleven teams are into the league, and the game schedule isn't revealed now. For the football lovers the year end is going to be more enjoyable. For the smooth play different health protocols and other social distancing protocols were created by the ISL Committee.

Let's football and have FUN...

The current format is really confusing. There are two teams from Kolkata now and ATK is now renamed as ATK Mohun Bagan. On top of that the second team from Kolkata (East Bengal) will be making their debut this season. Earlier they were planning to keep ISL separate from the I-league. But now teams from the I-league are migrating to the ISL.
