@LoneRangir keep plugging away at it.
Tried Ubuntu 16 instead of CentOS 7. Same thing. Gets goofed up in the bootloader when 6 cards are present. I'll have to see if there is a MB bois update. LoneRangir... save the whitehair and just use smOS -- its customised Linux crypto mining on a usb stick yeah works well.

@Phil - I'm looking at the Whole house surge protector you are recommending but 1 of the Review said it won't protect from Lightning strikes on Amazon and another guy said it damage all his electronics after a strike but good thing they have up to 25K warranty protection. Any other better ones? Electrician said I will need 3 units. OUCH! 4.0 out of 5 starsSolid design but read the details - it's not for lightning protection By Mr_D on January 19, 2011 This is a solid designed product with it's own robust metal case which is important for any device intending to absorb a high voltage spike. The enclosure helps contain the blast or discharge from a voltage surge. However ... Be sure to read the complete PDF installation guide and use as intended (for surge protection only). The install guide specifically says this product does not provide lightning protection. It's not designed to handle that. A direct strike can disable it, and get through to your electronics. My Electrician recommended this brand. Price is very reasonable on Amazon which is nice as I need to buy 3 of them. https://www.amazon.com/Eaton-109420-Ultra-Surge-Protection/dp/B01AQAKRSS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487044384&sr=8-1&keywords=eaton+whole+house+surge+protectorDirect lightning strikes are tough to fully protect. I have 4 grounds for my main panel. 1 goes to my cold water copper pipe. 3 go directly to grounding rods outside my house right near my panel inside the house. Theory is the lighting will have 4 paths to follow to ground not 1. So it takes the easy paths vs fighting its way through the whole house protectors. I did have a lightning strike directly on my a/c outside the house. which had a sub panel and an extra ground, only one thing died the compressor which took a direct hit. the rest of the energy went into the subpanels ground. you gear is in a shed if there is a direct hit my guess is the hit would be on the panel. with the protector in each panel and an extra ground on each panel the gear may survive.

small question if i try the paper clip (green/black) and psu doesnt start, thats mean psu dead ? when i connect to wall i can see red light on and can hear a little sound....
and tryed when all cable connect on s7...same result.
is there hope for me or psu dead
it means the fan on the psu did not turn on. try this plug the psu into just the s7 controller. then trip the psu via the red green wire. this should turn the controller on along with the 2 fans on the s7. if not you have a psu issue.

what software can we use to make a complete copy of the usb stick?? rufus hdd and win32 wont read the usb stick fully
I use the same utility Tytanick uses to flash the USB (see homepage), just name the source as USB #1 and target USB #2 https://simplemining.net/#menu_howtoRenember that you can flash older version and it will be auto updated to newest 1. Download HDDRawCopy - flashing tool http://www.hddguru.com/software/HDD-Raw-Copy-Tool/If it does not work you have a gear/software issue. as it works on 3 different windows 7 machines that I own maybe windows 10 sees it as a virus or your virus software is fucking it up.

In case of modifications, I would suggest a qualified electrician to inspect the existing wiring first.
Listen to him! @ op not to be insulting but your questions indicate you are new at this.... 110 power lines can shock. 220 can kill. that sounds correct does it not? Well it is wrong. 110 power lines can kill you and 220 can kill you more easily. < This is correct !!! Be careful.

Got my rig (6 MSI RX 470 Gaming) up and running on Sat. So far have done nothing but fire up the Claymore 9.7 XMR miner. Was expecting all sorts of issues getting it to run right but all 6 cards were detected fine and its running along at 3300 h/s since Saturday. These cards are so quiet, can hardly tell its on other than the PSU fan. I know they run faster than that but have not messed with any settings at all yet. Going to try and set it up for ETH today and see how it does.
you can get 550 easy per card 600 with a clock adjustment. Meanwhile I am working with Eliovp 's mining os it is more complex the simplemining. I can do a 1 card rig fine I can do a 2 card rig fine I can do a 3 card rig fine I can do a 4 card rig fine. I have yet to try the 8 card pandaminer But I have the following problems. I can not seem to rename my miner I can not do 2 rigs. I should be able to up to ten. I can not change name or add a second rig ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FIqiEWdo.png&t=663&c=tUDLeRTzzIOGkg)

Total nub question: Is this as simple as it seems? I just burn the OS to a SSD, plug it in and away I go? No need for Windows, Linux, Separate drivers etc.?
Yes it is really simple. it provides drivers and you can use small size ssds I use 16gb ssds in biostar z170 mobos these are m2 ssds I paid 48 usd for 10 of them. $4.80 a usd. you can not beat the price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/112143250197?

My attempt at upping the power to my soon to be arriving 2pacs on the cheap. I'm reusing stuff I already had on hand. I am waiting on my Block Erupters to sell on eBay to reclaim a 5v 40 amp led "meanwell" power supply. My plan is to use Monoprice usb extenders and some 18GA wire to hook up the power of the meanwell and data of a cheap 10 port hub (also hooked up to the meanwell) I hope to get these guys running at 3 to 3.5 amps per. I slice the jacket and remove the red and black wire (verifying that they are the +5 and ground on the usb ports) Cut the red wire and cap the side coming from the usb hub. Solder in the new 18GA wire +5 and ground cables. Verify no shorts and wrap the solder joints on opposite sides of the usb cable. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FfMiqMC5.png&t=663&c=-sKUPac1krynmg) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FHFSVzpa.png&t=663&c=CS2Fqf0DbEhA_A) I cut some 3/4 wood dowel and using a saw and 1/2 drill bit made usb "Holders" they are spaced 2" apart to allow cooling. I plan on attaching these to the board that my power supply is mounted to and using hot glue attaching the usb "holders" to the wood dowel. And then attaching cooling fans. Will Post more pictures when I get it completed. Just wanted to throw this out in case it helps others. Nice work

Exact make and model of gpu.
Exact make and model of mobo
Exact make and model of gpus.
Do not do any more gpus. Until you answer the questions above.
Basically some psus suck. And some gpus suck a lot of power.

Block! Does the new block is based on the old block? If we find the block too fast, the next one seems very difficulty. And if we find the block too difficulty, the new block will be easier?
independent spin of the wheel so to speak. A roulette wheel does not give a damn that you spun red on the last spin. Each and every spin stands alone.

@Marvell1 - Yes, server cases w Rack are more expensive and time consuming to build. However servicing it shouldn't be that bad. If you have slide rail, you just slide out the rig, don't screw the top cover, slide it out, recede PCI-E cable. If we use Quality PSU, there shouldn't be much we need to do with that. I actually use non slide rails and even with that, I can still pull them 75% out and be able to receded the cables easily. The benefit of these server cases far outweigh the expense and initial 1 time crazy labor efforts as the heat management is much easier. I simply cannot scale beyond 250 GPUs in my garage even with the help of a Swamp cooler. Had 1 and that SWAMP was a @#$@%$ to maintain due to my Houston's HARD water. I can easily do over 400 GPUs with my current design in the server rack as I can funnel heat better. Intake is always cooler air and hot air is contained inside my heat wall. Sexiness plus Practical. Oooh La La.............
@Phillip - If I have 3 Panel, do I need 3 of those whole house surge protector? I have 2 x 200 AMP outdoor panel and 1 x 200 AMP indoor panel.
@Induktor - 1.2AMP at 12V is only 14.4Watts not regular 120/240V AMPs counted / consumed. The Scythe and Hawkfish007 fans uses less than 9W each so 3 of them are around 24-27W. The effectiveness of them makes it worth every watts. Wait until you see my Heat test and how I "bake" every rig for a week before putting them into production. The effectiveness of these fans are incredible in the server case. Just look at most people with open air rack filled with box fans which consumes 50-110W each. Houston Heat.........it's a must.
Not sure how the outside panels are setup. In the example I gave searing he is power company transformer ---- {100amp}----[60amp]--- all miners so having 2 of the protectors should work for him. you are not wired that way. I would think you are power company transformer ------ [200 amp] in house " ------ [200 amp] shed for miners " ------ [200 amp] shed for miners 3 surge protectors one for each panel seems good. BUT that is a little more complex and I don't knowi.e. talk to a licensed electrician better safe then sorry and they put the panels in the shed in they should know how to protect with a whole panel protector.

I have a semi-related question. I ordered a 1700 watt PSU and in the reviews, one guy said to plug it into the wall, not a surge protector. He said his first one burnt up because of that. However, the warranty on my GPU units does not cover power surges. I'd hate to risk that much. What do you do, surge protector direct from wall?
If I can get my electricity price issues worked out I will scale up, but I may need an electrician to put some high capacity plugs in.
do yourself a favor install a whole house surge protector https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/88568/LEV-511201.html?it installs next to your circuit panel Just to be clear to all. A typical house is single phase power. I assume this device is good for 200 amp service as such. (My house is 100 amp). Does this need to be mounted on the main panel or can it be on a sub panel (60 amp) that is correctly grounded (100 amp 8 slot neutral grounding screw removed, so it is grounded through the main 100 amp panel? Long shot someone knows this, just tossing it out there.) Anyway, just to clarify the instructions below. (Easier question for those who have one) https://a89b8e4143ca50438f09-7c1706ba3fabeeda794725d88e4f5e57.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/spec_sheets/files/000/022/733/original/leviton-51120-1-installation-instructions.pdf?1442945250Is it really that easy to put in? Ground wire/Neutral/2 20 amp breakers? And this is it? Your whole 100 amp or 200 amp house 🏡 panel protected with this surge protecter whole house device? For those interested installation instructions above. I did put in sub panel for my KNC Titans. Just double checking to be clear on this too, from any who put this device in. Thanks yes it is easy. it is not prefect as it prevents surges passing through the panel into your home but the surge started in your home it does not help. outside >>> panel >> whole house protection >>>>>> all wire in the home So if some how you do something wrong in the home no protection since the surge is on the unprotected side . a really big UPS in side your home that fails can do this.Your idea of having it in the 60amp secondary panel looks good. but get 2 of them. one on the main panel one on the sub panel. Should be better. and shop for a better price. I got mine for 109.99 from lowes on a sale 5 years ago.

If he hires an electrician to visit him, then he might as well have one two-pole phase-to-phase 208V group installed and use the Bitmain APW3 PSU.
Yeah, but these days most know an electrician that could do the work for them ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Just a recommendation for the sake of safety on knowing the wiring between the high-draw device and the source is up to par. Yes. That is why it is in most cases to give the job for a professional electrician who knows what he is doing. I'm glad here in Finland laymen are not allowed to do electrical installations. You need here a qualified electrician to do the installations. You would not like my state New Jersey USA. If you own the home and live in it (i.e. do not rent it) you are allowed to wire it yourself. I wired my entire home back in the 90's We had aluminum wire due to a copper shortage during the Vietnam war. Many ares in the USA had aluminum wiring lots of house fires. When I purchased the home I found it need a full and complete wire job. So I did it a circuit at a time. I did hire a licensed electrician to install a 150 amp 32 breaker box. If the op is in the USA. he should have 2 hot wires into his box 110/120 each. He can do a 220/240 circuit . I have 3 in my home, one 40 amp for the central ac and two 30 amp for mining.

basically what im asking is are all 6 of my GPU's per rig working together to find shares, or are they all completely independant? example: will 2 rigs of 3 gpus each find a "equal" amount of shares as 1 rig of 6?
No 2 rigs of 3 cards will hash better then 1 rig of 6 cards. All my rigs are 3 or 4 cards. But I pay for : more mobos more ram more cpus. psu cost is even as I can use lower watt psu's

I bought one of the BITMAIN psu units and realized it's for 220v and I do not want to hire an electrician. I've looked at the ATX power supplies like EVGA 1600 series, but have also seen / heard server power supplies work. Is this true? What do you think is the best way to power the Antminer S9 using 110v? ¡Mucho gracias! No server supplies need 220 volt. There are exceptions Rosewill makes a titanium 1500 watt psu. You can also try two rosewill quark 1000 watt psu they were on sale at Newegg still are on sale at 120 each . I think sidehack has a 900 watt server that runs on 120 volt
