2681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USA - keeping track of trades (coins for coins) and financial software (quicken) on: May 13, 2021, 07:06:06 PM
I am lost in your post, it's maybe I don't know the crypto-currency Trading/investment system as to how the government impose tax on it in the US or maybe you are wrong about your knowledge,
Using my country, crypto-currency isn't concerned with the government, although they fixed a crypto-currency conversation ban, but prior to that, there is no tax on crypto-currency in my country because they don't control it, when converting before I think it's just bank fee that's taken, although taxation in my country is weak compared to the US or other countries.

Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin represent money which is simultaneously global, uncensored, and open access for everybody
Crypto-currency is a digital currency, crypto-currency is global but crypto-currency, is ban/restricted in some counties making it hard/not available to them, also their are some religious Rights that believe or are in contradictory believes about crypto-currency,

Quote
It creates a source of exchange.

So much already could be exchanged, exchange is not uniquely meant for crypto-currency.

I think the significant of crypto-currency are much and I choose to say every individual to do there research and find out their own significant/importance about cryptocurrency currency.

2683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm now all in BTC. All eggs in one basket! on: May 09, 2021, 08:23:29 PM
My plans is not much different from yours just that you have been into bitcoin far longer than me, needless to say you already have more bitcoin, also I actually don't have any other alt-coins be it ethereum, litecoin, dogecoin and more, I am having a rethink and checking out coins like dogecoin or bnb I think it won't hurt to get some alt-coins to my portfolio, also in my plan is trading and trading with bitcoin, been doing final stages learning and trying out demo trades, but I can say it more of bitcoin for me in crypto-currency.
2684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lucky Bitcoiner on: May 09, 2021, 07:45:05 PM

I'm really not feeling comfortable flaunting your riches coming from crypto or bitcoin itself.

You can be a target from criminals and you don't know that you can be physically attack and force you to cough off your bitcoin address and the private keys. So for me, it's better to keep a low profile specially if you become a self made millionaire through bitcoin, just saying.

I don't know his true story though and I never heard of this "Lucky Bitcoiner".
It doesn't matter if ones wealth is from crypto-currency or any wealth making method, public showing-off of residency is a bad security breach especially when the address is clear, stars like the late Pop smoke got hit by buglers/criminal and also lost his life in the process,

Seeing a person making/harvesting wealth through crypto-currency, is quite a believer nourisher for crypto-currency users, but because you have a password/seed phase or anything that seems protective online/software criminals can through duress extort crypto-currency from almost anyone.
2685  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Performing services for Bitcoin? on: May 09, 2021, 06:08:01 PM
I think you have to be very observant on board that hire and sell service, that is the service board, regardless I always prefer self employment and a diversified one, you can try out a YouTube channel, telegram, or any social media platform, to promote/influence your work, noting broadly that you accept crypto-currency.

I think graphic design is an interesting work, and many are in need of them also try as many advice as you can get here, you have gotten some solid advice and more to come, I hope you find what's more flexible and suits you.
2686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 09, 2021, 04:01:37 PM

Aston Villa to me weren't expected to win, Manchester United are in an exciting form of their life's and I have always hailed the attack force of Edison cavani and Greenwood, I think this is another typical comeback to win game by Manchester United.

Aston Villa at all means has had an epic, fantastic season, won games that last season they couldn't, battled relegation, now dragging the top ten, I think that's miraculous. I still think if Aston Villa keep their chin up they can be in the top ten after all is concluded.
2687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Remember: Dogecoin [DOGE] is not capped! on: May 09, 2021, 02:11:38 PM
I really like Dogecoin but honestly, it is extremely overpriced right now because we should not forget a fact:
Dogecoin needs to solve a big problem: it is uncapped currently. Dogecoin has no capped supply like Bitcoin, it has infititive supply!

If DOGE solves infinite supply problem, Dogecoin can reach very high prices, but right now, Dogecoin is way overpriced because it has no cap!

Dogecoin isn't over priced ambiguously or deliberately, the price of dogecoin going up is the end result/birth caused by fussion of demand and supply, dogecoin is among alt-coins that are attractive to investors, I don't know about which problem dogecoin has or what they should do to solve it, but what's clear is that dogecoin is hot on investors list, I think when that all clears alot about dogecoin and it's problem maybe exposed. I have seen article illustrating dogecoin as a gunpowder ready to explode and I think for now investors are all about doge profit.
2688  Economy / Economics / Re: Causes of downtown in the modern Economy on: May 09, 2021, 09:42:01 AM
Deference in government policy can throw economy into a plum, almost every new government that holds the reign of affairs tries to work according to the policy they think is right, this won't be a problem only if these policies are not adamantly implemented even if with it fails in economy and many more sectors, like @coyster I think the pandemic left many economy with a black eye, mostly private individuals who run their logistics personally and had to close down because of the pandemic.

I don't major in economy nor am I an economist, but I know policies built by government on a country has the highest amount of influence/restricting Factors on their economy, for instant countries like New Zealand that even in the pandemic has a strong policy to tackle it making them manage the country even in the pandemic.
2689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why people are scared to use their crypto? on: May 08, 2021, 08:46:44 PM
It's really funny to watch people talk about BTC and other cryptocurrencies  bringing them financial freedom, ease of payments, mass adoption blah blah and at the same time the very same people freak out when they have to (or asked to) make a payment in crypto. Especially payments for overseas transactions.

If anyone wants to screw you with bank transfer - they will. And if they don't - your bank will screw you with fees and exchange rates.
If anyone wants to screw you with and king of digital payment (Paypal etc) - they will.
If anyone wants to screw you with cash payment - they will (well, putting a gun to your head is a bit less convenient that using a computer, but there are still people out there that will do it).
Crypto is no different.

And don't tell me that bank transfers/Paypal etc are "secure". Yes, you might get your money back if something goes wrong. But regardless of what they tell you to justify their outrageous fees refund process can take months and months and there's no real guarantee, while bad guys have already cashed your payment and are enjoying themselves.

I think people are scared because they mis-conception of crypto-currency ranks high in their minds as unsecured than their normal way that is used to them. In person I haven't been scammed not have I felt in any danger since I started crypto-currency, now am even more scared with my bank, because so many accounted fees has been deducted although small but if this keeps accumulating then it's quite an amount, I prefer to see the numbers on my wallet than my bank account, also in terms of Transaction a process I had experience where i sent Fiat to a friend but the money didn't reflect and I was debited, up till now my report hasn't yielded any refund, I haven't had similar experience with crypto-currency.
2690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 08, 2021, 07:35:36 PM
a gala performance by bayern munich, who today also rightly secured the german championship early on.
the task now is to feed the top striker R. Lewandowski with balls so that he can score as many goals as possible in the last 3 games.
1 goal missing and he has finally caught up with Gerd Müller Grin
Congratulations to Bayern Munich I think it's a far usually phenomenon, in Germany bundes Liga to see Bayern Munich top the league and crowned champions, Lipzig a very young club can be the rising sun in the German league, but with German clubs losing there diamond possession to Bayern Munich, like Lipzig losing their head coach to Bayern, the league may remain in their grip.
2691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 08, 2021, 07:17:11 PM
I have not been impressed with Chelsea the way I am since tuchel came in, Chelsea is now my pick to become the next English premier league champions next season and still they possess a youth team that when mature can be a raging force.

I think Manchester city gets overconfidence when the play Chelsea and this hasn't worked out well for them in the tuchel's take over, I think pep will take note of this when they come face to face again in the UEFA champions league final.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 07, 2021, 08:34:08 PM
Closing in on 80minutes really fast and Leicester city are down 3 goals against Newcastle with them haven't been able to score a single goal, this is may affect them, in the chase for champions league, remember they had sleep off last season eliminating them from the UEFA champions league spot on the final day of the season.

The match is already won and lost, Newcastle who are looking to stay in the premier league played at full potential, I think it's a deserved win, if it ends this way, and three points would just be key to their survival in the English premier league.
2693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 07, 2021, 07:26:44 PM
I dont think Barcelona will be able to beat Atletico Madrid in their next match, although the match will be tough. Atletico Madrid won their last match against Barcelona with a 1-0 victory. If Atletico lose to Barcelona, they with also lose their position on the table and risk their chances of winning the League this season. While Barcelona topping the League depends on winning the match.
I think Barcelona has what it takes to beat Atletico Madrid, everything is on the table for both teams, if Atletico manages a win over Barcelona then I think it's league over for Barcelona, and if Barcelona wins Atletico might just kiss their chances good bye, so the strength of the two teams -barcelona and Atletico Madrid- will be a focal point in this match, but after all is said and done I think Barcelona will take away the three points.
2694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When you heard about Bitcoin vs. When you first used Bitcoin on: May 07, 2021, 07:18:38 PM
How long did it take you to jump on the Bitcoin bandwagon?

I first heard about Bitcoin in 2009
I first used Bitcoin in 2013

Took me 4 years!

What about you?
Am all green with envy, knowing you knew bitcoin that long ago makes me question which lost island have I been all those while, well I must have heard bitcoin in news, YouTube, telegram, Instagram, Facebook but I can say it was those part of things I had shifted in my subconscious and never gave it the interest I should have not until some time 2019, well I think that was my turn to bitcoin because Immediately got interested and hopped into bitcoin atmosphere.
2695  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto is increasingly being used for criminal activities on: May 07, 2021, 05:50:11 PM
We all know that because of the level of anonymousity of crypto identity by users, it has increasingly being hijacked by criminals for laundry and scam activities. It has become a tool of kidnappers and extortionists that is contrary to civilization.

We all know that very few people are using Bitcoin to pay their bills, but some people are using it to buy drugs or subvert elections. Research shows that illicit activity accounts for less than 1 percent of the overall transactions,of that small portion, scam make up the overwhelming majority of cryptocurrency related crime including money laundering, terrorism, trafficking, or other unlawful activities.

One of the most widespread but false notions about crypto is that it is mostly used by bad actors for illicit financing: https://blog.coinbase.com/fact-check-crypto-is-increasingly-being-used-for-criminal-activity-and-is-a-haven-for-illicit-856a71dfb399
I think you shouldn't generalize what you think you know, and some of them you made mention of are not concrete fact/accurate, this topic as a body, has being reproduced multiple times, it's a reason to Wonder where all the vices the world suffers from caused by crypto-currency, and if we can magically take crypto-currency away will it put an end to money laundering, scams, cyber theft, drugs peddling and more, absolutely it won't.

I think if anyone feels security threatened by crypto-currency or not sure can cut-off any form of crypto-currency, I think the mis-conception is due to ignorance about Financial technology, internet, and security.
2696  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigerian Government Ban on Crypto, the P2P dilemma on: May 07, 2021, 02:50:07 PM
Did the Government just prove to us that we are our own enemy? I have noticed for some time now the rate at which the Nigeria p2p transaction on Binance is now looking more like a means of extortion.
Before the CBN pronounced ban on Banks crypto transactions, we were able to sell directly to our accounts and all in all transaction fee wouldn’t be more than N300 approximately $0.43 now and here comes the Ban and we all have to result to p2p and the cost of trading p2p is just outrageous.
Hypothetically, this is what you would have gotten trading 100USDT directly to your bank in the free trade days minus N300 for transaction charges.

But this is what you would get now trading the same 100USDT on p2p, N49,511 that is less N18,775.

So I am asking this question, Are we our own Enemy? Has the Government succeeded in its plan?
Even the Bank transfer the Buyer is sending to my account can’t be more than N100 charge so why the N18k+?
Is there an alternative to this or are we stock here?

Your honest Opinion Please.

I don't think this is so true, to everyone in Nigeria, I am a Nigerian and I know about the ban and what it caused so far, first Nigerian government placing an incomplete ban as so many people would put it in to words as, was an act to show that the government don't want to project Nigeria ahead like many other countries.

Well but as for the peer2peer many has seen this as a revelation alternative to bank in the first place, some uses the binance peer2peer exchange, I use straight out peer2peer with a partner and the rate are not something to complain about, I know people who had used exchanges then directly to their banks that are finding peer2peer more flexible for them, but their is need to be cautious and intelligent.
2697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 05, 2021, 09:04:09 PM
I think Chelsea has put everyone who criticised them or didn't believe they could beat Real Madrid to shame, since the last won the UEFA champions league this would be their first final, I think tuchel has really brought the team a long way, in two finals, one being the FA cup which they beat there champions league final rivals to reach, and of course the UEFA champions league final itself.

The joy may just have a sad feeling knowing it's Manchester city in the Finals and this is a priced title for Manchester city and for pep himself, in all congratulations to England.
2698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 04, 2021, 12:44:44 PM
Chelsea are really close to Leicester now. They are only two points behind Leicester.  But Chelsea's next game is going to be against Manchester City away. And it means that their job is really hard. Meanwhile, Leicester is going to play a home game against Newcastle. So, it looks like the gap will be bigger again.
Chelsea defeated Manchester city in the FA cup semifinals although it will be as a broken record to say the FA cup is different from the league games, although I think Manchester city would only play for glory or for some records other than that, Chelsea has more reason to win the match than Manchester city.

Also to Leicester city playing Newcastle who can be venomous on their good day, Leicester city has their hands filled, but I think they can win Newcastle, and also Chelsea may just defeat Manchester city.

Calm down a little now as Messi manages to equalize despite Messi penalty saved. There has to be a second goal after this that Barcelona scored and I'm sure they will win. And now it was Griezman's turn. 1-2.
68 minutes there is still time for Barcelona to increase the lead or Valencia to find an equalizer, the goal difference means that Barcelona are working on thin ice even if there seem to have control of the game, and it's always good to see Messi scoring even if he had missed a penalty before putting it in again.
I think anything short than a win will spell the end of the title race for koeman's men after they had blown up a Golden chance to top the league.
