2681  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has someone tried to use ChatGPT to help in trading? on: January 27, 2023, 08:15:27 PM
I don't think ChatGPT will help that much in creating new trading algorithms. It's good for casual conversations just to kill time, but ordering it to write code for you will be a hard task and I don't think developers even implemented that feature on the bot. It will not even help you predict basic things in the future, so right now it's best to not rely on this bot to anything related to your finances and investments.

Taking some action with DPC WEU later tonight.

Liquid vs OG. This is obviously Team Liquid's game. They are still perfect in this regions 6-0 and dropping just 1 map. While OG has lost to Nigma endangering their slot for Lima Major in the process.

Tundra Esports vs Gladiators. Tundra's game is quite boring, but they are consistent in winning. The reigning TI champion will probably win over GG.

Team Secret vs Team Nigma. Both teams are fighting to keep their current division and avoid relegation. Though they may be on equal footing but Team Nigma has shown better games lately. Favoring Nigma to win over team Secret at this series.

I never expected GG to take a game against Tundra. What Tundra is doing is a very proven meta in the last TI, and you're right that it's extremely boring because it can easily snowball mid-late game. Well whatever, we're here to take the wins anyway, but GG is not going down without a fight. They can counter the zoo strat pretty well and they have proven that they have what it takes to beat the reigning TI champs in their own comfort heroes.

What I'm worried about this next game is that Tundra has a very limited hero pool. Don't get me wrong, their meta is extremely strong and works most of the tims, but their heroes can easily be countered just like what happened in game 1.

EDIT: GG just won the series. Lol
2683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Power Slap League on: January 27, 2023, 07:13:02 PM
I don't think bookies will allow this kind of sport to be posted in their lines. Most of the competitors that will join this competition would surely be in for just a few fights and afterwards, they might think that the damage that they're receiving is not worth the prize money. That brutal knockout that happened just a few days ago shows how brutal and unsafe this sport can be, and it seems Dana White doesn't care that much about the safety of its competitors but more about the revenue they can generate off of the viewership they gain from the sport. Hopefully they reinvent the rules of the sport, but there clearly is no 'safety' on the side of the fighters here really, because you receive a direct blow to the face with bare hands of your opponents.
2684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We lose on the long run through return percentage on: January 27, 2023, 06:29:57 PM
That's how the gambling casino earn of course if they make 100 per cent of the win rate it's a huge loss to them that's why still they are giving a chance of winning to the players even though its above 90 per cent there's a chance still players lose the game, those lucky people are the one who experiences this high chance of winning the game, that's the reason why they keep continuously playing sometimes it shows up a good multiplier upon playing more games. But of course if you hit a good jackpot and being greedy makes your game ruin.

That's why you always have to make sure that your spendings are in check, otherwise even if you win against the casino, your greediness will lead you to lose it all just because you haven't stopped when you're ahead. The high % of wins on the side of the player, on paper, might seem like a good deal. But in reality it's really in favor of the casino because that less than 1% will always eat out the winnings of gamblers in the long run. You can never really disregard those small percentages because that's what's going to bite you in the end.
2685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: January 27, 2023, 06:04:38 PM
Altcoins' volume isn't as big as bitcoins, and when some noticeable change happen in the price and in its volume, people will think that there's something happening in the coin that they tend to invest in it before they get left behind by the train. Afterwards, FOMO will kick in, price will increase rapidly, and bam, those who sit on the coin for too long will reap the rewards and get the benefits the most. At least, that's what I think what pushes people to invest on altcoins. If people tell you that they invested in an altcoins because of the 'technology' then they're plainly bullshitting you.
2686  Economy / Economics / Re: China Digital yuan vs US dollars on: January 27, 2023, 05:26:04 PM
Unless the majority of the world abandons the US Dollar, China will still be dependent in using it for foreign trades. Only a few select countries are willing to trade goods in exchange for CNY, and the rest of the world still deals with USD a lot. Even if they were the first one to introduce the digitization of their currency, most of the success of their CBDC will still be dependent on the amount of people willing to use and receive it. They can force their people to use it as long as they like, but outside of China, it'll be a hard task to do that since there really isn't any incentive to use digital Yuan just yet.
2687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: January 27, 2023, 04:58:44 PM
Today's a big final day for several teams since most of their final series will probably decide the next major slots and if there would be another set of matches to be played for the tiebreakers.

On to the bets, here's what I'll be going for between the SEA and EU region. Team SMG showed some signs of life in their last series and beat Blacklist International while their opponent Geek Slate looked shaky in their last series after getting a 0-2 loss vs Talon.

I added Talon -1.5 here as they've finally found their form winning three series in a row without dropping a map.

That Talon -1.5 has been a trap that many people fell into. Weird picks from Talon and perhaps overconfidence because they were doing well on their previous matches. I mean, who the hell uses Rubick as position 3 in a meta dominated by durable offlane and carries supported by early game nukers? CM and Tiny just ate the hell out of Jabz in game 1, and they can't seem to really find any answer to Fnatic's aggression as the game progresses. Overconfidence IMO brought them to experiment and try other heroes thinking that they can edge against Fnatic.
2688  Economy / Economics / Re: Track every rich person take on: January 27, 2023, 04:07:08 PM
You must also take into account the opportunities that are being presented to each and every individual. Sometimes luck plays a vital role on a person's success, so it's not really following a strict routine 100%, or not buying outside for some meals or whatever. While these values help a person cut off their unwanted expenses, it will not make them rich without putting in the work, getting opened a few doors of opportunity, and just getting lucky overall. Rich people only tell the basics that everyone can apply, but the secrets as to how they get rich and what they did specifically to get there, they will not give that out.
2689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino games plebs like us must play on: January 27, 2023, 03:32:14 PM
I myself have exercised self-control to be able to stop and control my emotions while playing gambling, but it was difficult because curiosity arose and I wanted to win in this game or bet.
Indeed, you can stop for a few minutes to calm yourself and your mind, but in the end, after that, it's back to playing and that's what I always do.
Maybe losing all the money and not having anything can make someone stop gambling in an instant and for quite a long time, especially if you don't have a source of income, you can be sure that you will never enter the world of gambling again.

It is because your brain has already forced itself to remember that gambling gives you pleasure, and the nerves at the region in your brain that controls the release of feel-good hormones whenever you gamble has already been wired to respond to gambling positively. It's incredibly difficult to go against your brain when it comes pleasure, as it's extremely hard to curb whatever activities give you pleasure because your brain will always choose the one that you feel the most pleasure in. Even if you lose a lot of money in gambling, your brain will always claw back in to getting your feel, hence why you feel addicted to gambling even though you don't have any means to gamble. You may feel bad at first, but these feelings of regret cannot really overwhelm the feeling of pleasure that your brain wants to get.
2690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best sportsbooks? (MMA and boxing) on: January 27, 2023, 03:11:20 PM
Stake.com will be my number 1, with sportsbet.io perhaps on the number 2 spot. I've had good experience with both bookies, although for the meantime I'm using a local bookie and taking advantage of their promotions. Stake offers good odds and great lines generally on all events, and Sportsbet gives out better odds at times on MMA. With boxing, I'm not quite sure which bookie is the better one between the two, but there are other options out there like Rollbit, Roobet, and Betnomi. all of which are established bookies in the forum and in the cryptospace.
2691  Economy / Economics / Re: In your country, today is money the real root of all evil? on: January 26, 2023, 10:19:09 PM
Money surely pushes a lot of good people to do bad things. Here in our country, money reigns supreme, and as long as you have the money, you have the pass to do everything that you want, and that includes getting your own way with justice. People will never be contented with the amount of money that they have, and will surely find ways to make more of it even if it means doing bad things to other people and just being an asshole. Though there are some people who are truly good natured, the majority just hides behind a facade and show their true colors when opportunities show their way.
2692  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 26, 2023, 08:41:28 PM
As a renter for a few years now, I can say that it's better to get a mortgage on a house and just pay that. At the least, that house is going to be yours when the time comes, though you have to work your ass off if you don't want to lose the house that you 'own'. I am considering to just get my own place and stop renting very soon, but I haven't picked up a nice location just yet. Also, the prices of houses and lands are increasing almost every year that you can never go wrong in buying one. Just make sure that you already have a stable career before buying a house, because it is a huge responsibility in paying the mortgage and keeping up with the payments.
2693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: January 26, 2023, 07:50:53 PM
I guess Nigma is next to fall into division 2. But the most interesting part are the last games of GG, OG, and Tundra. Entity seems like a sure win over Nigma and a chance to earn tickets to Lima.
Nigma still got 2 matches remaining, against Team Secret and then with Entity. Both Team Secret and Nigma are in danger of being relegated to division 2 but, only one of them is going back to division 2. But the chance that Nigma is better because even if Team Secret beats them, they still have a chance to retain division 1 if they win over Entity. Nevertheless, any of them might be kicked out of division 1 and will have to join the others on division 2.

Nigma has no problem being relegated to Division 2 since they spend most of their tournament on this division during the second half last year but they dominated completely Division 2 which makes them come back again easily. I believe Team Secret going there will be bad since they are still on adjustment phase due to the current roster change.

ATF and Sumail are very good carry on Nigma. They can beat Entity and Team Secret if they can maintain the performance level that they show on OG fight. I’m surprised how strong all the teams on WEU right now. Very fresh roster on most of the team yet they are still very strong based on the recent matches.

I am not sure if Nigma is strong enough to beat Entity. Entity is quite strong this season. Entity was able to beat strong teams like Tundra and OG. Even with the performance they had against OG, that might not still be enough to get through Entity. Nigma better have a perfect game to stand a chance against Entity right now.

Though, I think they can beat Team Secret who are still in disarray right now with their new roster. That may be enough to retain their current division.

They don't need to beat Entity in order to secure their current placement. They just have to win against Team Secret and that's just it. That team doesn't have a single win on its belt right now, while Nigma is posting some maps against the better teams of today. They can score 1 map against Entity, but not sure if they can win the match. Either way, Secret is going Div 2 while Nigma stays at Div 1.
2694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: January 26, 2023, 06:56:21 PM
Just lost my bet with Navi vs G2. I really think that they really need to work on their communication if they want to make it into better placements and be qualified into lots of tournaments. That round that they lost against G2 because of the bomb plant that was denied is easily avoidable if only someone guards hut but no, everyone was preoccupied on the fact that m0nesy is up heaven and they completely forgot about the other player alive possibly lurking on some other place. Electronic being the IGL is really bad, and boombl4's absence really hurt the team when it comes to strategy and communications. What a sad day for my $20 Embarrassed
2695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK fines online casino for only asking KYC from winning gamblers on: January 26, 2023, 06:26:08 PM
Good idea to implement that since several casino claims that they are Kyc free but in the end once their player win a huge prize they ask KYC and tell that this is for verification purposes. This case is totally insane since in the first place they are the one claims that their gamblers don't need to submit their id but in the end they are been deceived by this greedy casinos. That's why somehow its good to pass the law and required every player to do Kyc first since we can avoid further problems for providing it immediately and casino might not get any excuse to delay our winnings.

In crypto casinos, they are requiring basic KYCs for most of the platforms that I've signed up with. Level 2 verification only occurs when there are problems detected on your account that the casino thinks you're cheating the system, or you just won big and, for KYC/AML compliance, they need to do further verification of who you really are. For that online casino that the government fined, they are obviously not complying with KYC/AML regulations, hence why they received the fine in the first place. Delaying winnings are totally not okay, and asking for KYC only after someone wins is totally fishy because that is already a breach of what the regulation on KYC/AML states.
2696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tom Brady's Gambling and HUGE loss. on: January 26, 2023, 05:09:25 PM
I think whatever he does, of course he already understands the risks, so why do I feel sorry for him, while we also know that everyone when betting anything is of course conscious unless he is drunk, but I think that will be an important lesson for him  Wink
It's because we think that he wasted his money as far as his association with SBF and his failed project FTX. And it cost him his marriage too, he has a good life already, all he has to do is think about his future and his family.

But I guess that is too much to ask for a athlete or a personality like Tom who thinks he can always win in this game called life.

Now he is back to square one and thinking how he can bounce back financially.

I don't think he's lost it all financially. The man still has a lot of gigs to do and a lot of endorsement contracts for himself. Before he gets financially dry, it will take a lot of bad investment choices for him to make. He's still playing at the highest level of NFL, and there's still a lot of companies willing to have him as an endorser for their products or services due to his large following and a lot of audience. It must have hurt for him losing hundreds of millions in FTX, but he can be quite 'frugal' for a while and get the money after a couple of gigs and a couple of contracts.
2697  Economy / Economics / Re: A bullish case: HOW MUCH #BITCOIN to get rich and fund your lifestyle? on: January 26, 2023, 04:34:17 PM
As many think “crypto will make me rich” it’s definitely not going to be Bitcoin. Even if it hits a new ATH and you buy here at $24K, you will maybe make 3x. Unless you buy millions you won’t get rich this way.

Bitcoin and ETH would of made you rich back in 2015 or so. You could of invested $10K in both and would of made great sums of money as long as you held. Gone are those days.

These were also the words that were uttered back in 2018 when bitcoin already broke the $20k mark.

"We won't see anything past $20k"
"It's literally impossible to make money on bitcoin after the ATH has been reached"

Blah blah.

Yet we managed to cross $60k which is more or less triple the amount of the ATH that everyone was hyped about. Short-term, I think we won't be able to make that much money off of bitcoin like the way we could have during 2015 - 2017, but it's never really wrong to keep some bitcoins on your stash just in case. After all, at this point most people who understand the dynamics of bitcoin use it to keep value and not necessarily to make money, unless you're an active day trader who fiddles with these coins for profit.
2698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 26, 2023, 03:48:55 PM
-snip

I like your Celtics and Suns pick. There's lots of value in the Mavs vs Suns pick although with that many players absent on the side of Suns, it really is a huge gamble to bet on them, especially without Djae Crowder and Devin Booker, two of the main play makers in the said team. Both teams are on the losing side of the coins for their last 10 games so both have no momentum to carry over. Luka, while being effective on the scoring side of things, doesn't seem to have enough fuel in the tank to carry his team single-handedly, so this is a 50-50 game. Even still, I'd take Suns just for the juice even with a lot of key players missing and just bet that the Mavs will not perform effectively tomorrow.
2699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do online casinos disadvantage some locations from winning big on: January 26, 2023, 03:10:10 PM
I don't think an online casino will restrict a player from winning big based on the country where he is playing from, that is why it's online so that the casino can be accessed from any part of the world. If a casino wants to restrict, they will restrict the gamblers from a particular country not the funds to be won. Though the casinos are always making profit because of the house hedge.
Indeed. Legal casinos seem never to restrict any gambler from winning big, it is an unfair way. They only limit the gamblers from a few countries because of certain reasons and limit the age of the gamblers to avoid negative impacts on the young generation. These are common limitations/restrictions, it is the right way to make gamblers play properly. I think everyone accepts these, it is already notified even before the gamblers register on the online casinos.

Anyway, I never heard any casino preventing gamblers from certain countries to win big prizes. I think it is just OP assumption, he doesn't really understand the restriction/limitation on online casinos.

CMIIW

Then you have never really sifted through the pages of this forum to see that even huge casinos are trying to make the winners feel like shit in order for the winners to not claim their winnings. Even legitimate, land-based casinos are trying to prevent big wins from happening, just like this one wherein the casino tried to offer a steak dinner to a woman that 'won' $43 million jackpot on a slot machine. The casino and even the New York Gambling Board mentioned that the machine malfunctioned, but it's kind of a joke seeing that the machine only becomes broken when big wins happen.

Casinos will try their best to not give out big wins, and if you have never seen or heard of one, then you must not be involved that much in gambling for you to not know this.
2700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this safe to say this about casino platforms on: January 26, 2023, 02:26:34 PM
They cannot operate like that for too long. They always have to have some bankroll of their own if they want to stay longer in this business. One good day for a gambler may send the casino into shambles, especially if those winners are high rollers. Also before operating, casinos must provide proof of solvency in order to make sure that they are not only operating in users' funds. If they can operate without providing these verifications, then everyone and their mothers can easily establish their own casinos without having any money at hand.
