seems ok on www.zpool.ca

Is it? It's disabled on zpool (grey), hovering provides no additional info.

It was since deposits were delayed to ccex. It does this automatically. It's ok again.

Thanks. It looks like the balance fluctuations were due to typical exchange volatility
with new coins.

hi
ethereum mining not working on nvidia cards.

This would be better asked in the nicehash pool thread. I noticed there's no order book for
etherum so I don't know how it would work.

My fork was based on 1.7.3 wich have issues. I need to refork 1.7.4 and make a new build
but you sold it and knew it had issues? LOLOL money hungry asshole once again.

I have only modded the cuda code. My subscribers will get updates. Fixes where submitted in the stratum/c++ code afterwards(github)

which algo work best for 750ti cards? Can you please tell us the hashes a 750ti can make with your miner for vanilla and decred?

On a normalised hashrate basis lyra2v2 performs better than most other algos compared to other maxwell cards.
That doesn't mean it's more profitable than other algos, it's just more profitable than other cards when mining lyra2v2.
I haven't compared vanilla or decred.

how to do automaticly change pool based on price?? i'm don't  know how to do thats

my comment was specific to nicehash, and my antminers:
search online about how to configure your nicehash connection so that it only reports "up" if profitability is above a chosen amount.  The profitability amount is configured through the password you use.   I don't have the instructions, and I am on the other side of the worked from my miners and home;  I did a google search and found it easily when I first configured it.  I have nicehash as my primary which is always down unless the profitability is high enough;  and zpool as my secondary which is up 99% of the time.  my 3rd pool is nicehash without the special password configuration so that it will failover to it if zpool has a stratum disconnect.

Since zpool has been under ~0.0050mBTC/Gh in the past few weeks;  That's the threshold I set for myself.

@joblo,
Cryptonight on CPU is a particular case. There's a 2MB scratchpad per thread (or something else which proper name I don't recall). For whatever CPU you have, the ideal number of threads will always be cache-size/2. Most i7's have 8MB cache, so optimal threads = 4.

As far as the rest of the details that you posted, way over my head.  /searching <nearest exit>   Cheesy

I don't agree with it being over your head, your comment was spot on and perfectly illustrates what I was
saying. As you add more threads the memory requirements increase and when it becomes larger that the cache
size performance drops noticibly in spite of any benefits provided by hyperthreading.

Perhaps a similar thing is occurring on a small CPU when GPU mining ETH with many threads.
2687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 1.7.4 with Vanila and Decred - opensource (tpruvot) on: March 08, 2016, 04:20:44 PM
That leaves cache performance as the most likley cause for both issues. If the total memory requirements of all
threads exceeds the available cache it will significantly affect cache performance. It's a step function as each cache
level overflows.

^^^^^ This

Seems like going too cheap with a CPU for a mining rig isn't a good idea.

True. But it's very difficult to roi with cpu anyways, 'cause of botnets.

My comments were aimed at the CPU performance of GPU mining. My CPU mining comparison was made
only to illustrate a possible similar problem.

Howerer, I agree that it's very difficult, if not impossible, to ROI with CPU mining.
2688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 1.7.4 with Vanila and Decred - opensource (tpruvot) on: March 08, 2016, 03:37:15 PM
^ Also maybe worthwhile checking if multiple ccminer instances will help.
So you could launch instance 1 with -d 0,1,2, and instance 2 with -d 3,4,5.
In addition, ensure that cpu affinity is reserving specific cpu cores for instance one, and other cpu cores for instance 2.

I had to think about this a bit. ccminer should already create multiple CPU threads spread over all cores.
This can be confirmed by using the -D option to enable debug output.  Even so, with three threads per core
it could introduce scheduling latency. That combined with the small cache could easilly cause a 10% degradation
in performance.

The algo probbaly factors into it as well. Does the degradation occur with other algos?

I have seen some odd performnance differences while testing cryptonight on cpuminer that I still don't understand.
At first i thought it was due to some affinity tricks but I haven't found anything in the code to explain it.
In short cryptonight performs radically differently on different CPUs/OSs. On a 6700K running Linux I  get best
performance CPU mining with 4 threads. More threads causes the total hashrate to drop to as low as half the 4 thread
rate. Most other algos perform much better with more threads. The CPUs also run pretty cool on cryptonight suggesting
they are often stalled waiting for data (ie memory bound).

There shouldn't be any scheduling delays because the number of running threads is less than the available virtual
cores. Any thread contention would occur during execution and be mitigated by hyperthreading.

That leaves cache performance as the most likley cause for both issues. If the total memory requirements of all
threads exceeds the available cache it will significantly affect cache performance. It's a step function as each cache
level overflows.

Seems like going too cheap with a CPU for a mining rig isn't a good idea.

Also I am the only miner but my share rate tops out at 80%.
Welp, guess that answers my question about the share rate bug. Anyone else agree that fixing this should be a major priority for the pool, or are most people okay with a 20+% fee?

No, not happy with any non-transparent fee. However, in the last few weeks BTC income has significantly improved, so I still mine here from time to time as well as doing some solo mining.

I did a quick audit of my quark mining and it looks ok. My reported share rate is correct and i get the reported share of
a block.

C11 has since been disabled so I will give the admin the benefit of the doubt but this issue needs to be investigated because
even the appearance of fraud can ruin a reputation forever.

I only get 445 Mh/s per 750 Ti. What am I missing? Do I need a certain driver or cuda toolkit or something?

Edit: apparently I get close to 500 if I only use one card but with 6 cards and a dualcore Pentium G3240 I only get abou 445 per card.
I presume because the first round of blake is done on the CPU as per sp_ said.

It could be the CPU that is he bottleneck (you could check usage) but try increasing your pagefile size, assuming you're on Windows.

16GB pagefile with ~27% CPU usage but it's still slower than 1 card.

Small cache maybe?

The blocksize and share rate for c11 seems way off.

The blocksize is estimated to be 14 CHC but actual blocks found are only 6.

Also I am the only miner but my share rate tops out at 80%.

So, in effect, I am getting 80% of 43% of the promissed block size.

i was testing some changes to reduce this problem, decred is a bit different about that (take time to send found blocks to the network).

Hmm, does that represent an opportunity for pipelining where a new block can be requested before the found
block is sent? This asumes the GPU is essentialially idle while the found block is being processed before submitting.

crackfoo - quick question... is there a "lite-background" version of zpool. On my desktop, grey/darkgrey background is ok, but on my notebook its a bit hard to read esp if outdoor...  Cheesy Thanks.

+1

I realize you're trying to put your brand on the pool but it does affect readability.

for mining cryptonigh what is the miners? it's not included here like spreadcoin right?
i remember it was done vy Tsv or whatever his nick was
I'm not sure if ccminer will do cryptonight. But the Cuda miner will do it I believe.
Go to this thread..... about 1/2 ago.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0

nope... it was a ccminer fork from tsiv

https://github.com/tsiv/ccminer-cryptonight

sp_ has also a "private" one for selling.

so to get a more recent cryptonight miner you must pay? or there is an updated version of tsiv?

I don't know of any good cryptonight GPU miners, free or pay. The algo is designed to be GPU resistent.
CPU mining is probably the way to go and use the GPU for another algo that has optimized GPU mining.
cpuminer-opt (link in sig) does a good job on cryptonight.

how much you can do with an i7 4970k oced to 4400?

You should get about 240-250 H/s on a 4790k if you tweak the number of threads, I get 260 on a 6700k with 4 threads.
More threads is slower.

2697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 5 GPUs worked and now only 4 GPUs work on: February 19, 2016, 05:07:31 PM
Having issues getting all GPUs to work.

At first I had a Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H board, I managed to get 4 GPUs working but after a few days only 3 would work. When 4 were connected, it would just keep rebooting and rebooting. If 3 were connected, it worked fine. After some searching, many had similar issues with this motherboard so I bought another motherboard.

This time a Z97X-SLI, I managed to get all 5 GPUs working for a day or two. Then the same issue, only 4 would work. If 5 were plugged in, the motherboard keep rebooting and rebooting.

Just wondering if anyone here had the same issues or suggest a different motherboard?

Are you supplying enough power to the GPUs? Make sure the PSU is big enough and all power connectors are
connected and use powered risers on x1 slots.

is there a gtx 760 kepler kernel code for this miner?

You can change the config to compile for sm3.5.

Linux version is a must for this nice miner. Not all people using Windows.  Wink

Wil it work on mono?
