2681  Economy / Speculation / Do not buy bitcoin IF... on: January 05, 2017, 01:57:27 PM
if you are a newbie who panics with every bump and starts selling...
if you are a newbie who panics with every jump and starts buying...

save yourself the head ache and do not invest in bitcoin, just stay away. when you make decisions based on panics you are only feeding the whales.

look at the price right now, the panic they created caused a drop from $1166 to $851 on bitfinex and who do you think sold on top and made the panic? the same people who have been buying bitcoin low from you.

but if you are in it for the long haul, just buy what you can afford and hold it in a cold storage and be happy with being a part of a limited supply future currency which is going to conquer the world. and stop looking at the price every second unless you are a seasoned trader.

2682  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins price just gone down from 1000$ to 990$ each on: January 05, 2017, 01:51:57 PM
This is very sad. I just went to the comfort room for a minute and when I came back bitcoin is less than One thousand dollars. What happened? I am expecting that it will climb up more but it shoots back down.

Can somebody tell me what cause this recent price decrease? I am troubled. Hope it will climb up again to 1000$ the least.

it was definitely sad but only because i witnessed how many newbies are in the bitcoin trading business that will dump bitcoin so hard that price can go down from $1150 to $850 in half an hour and it was devastating to see that they are selling their coins cheaply to the whales who fooled them into doing this.
2683  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH Bitcoin Marketcap on: January 02, 2017, 01:21:47 PM
Yes, congrats.  Hope people here are making money, 'cause it's nice to see the euphoria that's catching on around here.

This feels much like 1999 with biotech and internet stocks.  People were out of their minds, pouring money into mutual funds, and the prices were on a moon trajectory.  Then the whole thing crashed to the ground in March/April 2000.  I'm very much hoping this bitcoin bull doesn't end up taking a nap in the dirt.  If you know what I mean.  But in the meantime, I'm loving it.  Smiley

Not sure how long you have been around but Bitcoin has had its ups and downs. Not long after hitting the last ATH it took a nose dive. Check the charts - it wasnt fun but thats part of the risk we all take.

Im in for the long haul so the downs dont mean too much to me at the moment.

yeah but the difference is clear, with the first ath, bitcoin reached $1200 from $90 in what? few week? so its bound to be dumped eventually, but this time is vastly different

we went to $400 first, then sit there for some weeks/months, then again 750 with a retreat to 500-600, then another 750 and now 1k, i guess the bottom is the last time that the value reached it twice, so $700-800 range

that first rise was in the course of a little more than one month (although i think if you take the bottom at $90 it was a bit longer) but the new rise when we broke $1000 yesterday took bitcoin over 2 years to achieve. and that has to count for something, right. i mean all those who say it is going down because it is like 2013 want to sweep this fact under the rug.
2684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft Excel supporting Bitcoin ! on: January 02, 2017, 01:16:25 PM
Interesting for sure ! It still needs to be clearer what will be the Bitcoin data, but I guess that if they put the the Bitcoin symbol (BTC) beside the dollar ($) sign, that'll be great passive advertisement.

I'm wondering how Its going to be as well , I mean bitcoin could be decimal , I'm not sure even sure why there are going to add it as something else specific to bitcoin only. If its good , hopefully they add it to both their Word and Access as well.

it is just a formating option, for example when you click on the currency sign it sets a specific formatting to the number (in this case the system's currency sign + ',' for thousands + 2 decimal)

the same thing will be set for bitcoin meaning (bitcoin sign + ',' for thousands + 8 decimal) and i hope they don't go crazy with ISO symbol XBT instead of BTC i hate that Cheesy

p.s. the best thing about this news is that Microsoft is calling bitcoin a currency
2685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DOGE] Will history repeat again? MOON on: January 02, 2017, 01:10:47 PM
i don't know who even buys Dogecoin still and i don't know who pumps it from time to time but all i know is that the volume is high like crazy and it gets pumped.
and pumping a 20ish price means a lot of profit.
2686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Altcoin under 1 Million Dollar mcap - worth buying in 2017 - that will rise on: January 02, 2017, 01:06:02 PM
you just have to keep in mind that many of the altcoins with smaller market cap an smaller price have a very small volume and a small volume means only one thing: easy manipulation.

for example you can not easily manipulate bitcoin price since there are thousands of bitcoin in volume each day.

but a coin with a thin orderbook can be easily manipulated with only a couple of hundred dollars.
2687  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I want the BTC ATH $1226 breached and become the floor. To Kill FUD dead. :) on: January 02, 2017, 01:01:35 PM
topics like this are good. they may help people understand past all the drama circling bitcoin.

and i agree the price rise and breaking the ATH can help with it, maybe some of these newbies stop listening to all the FUD whales spread about bitcoin and stop panic selling. somebody has to show them who they are selling their coins to at times like this.
2688  Economy / Speculation / Re: Longest period of time with Bitcoin over $800 ever! on: January 01, 2017, 12:53:22 PM
and this time it is going to stay up there forever.
my speculation is that we will never see any price lower than $800 ever and even if another terrible thing happens such as that big hack of a couple of months ago (bitfinex) the price can only go down there for a short time before investors sell their kidneys to buy more bitcoin cheap and a bounce back will happen.
2689  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Newbie on: January 01, 2017, 12:44:30 PM
Always unpredictable job is trading because it completely depends on user base and user active trading, trading is not an easy task to assume and implement behind we need to calculate lot of things before entering into picture. I hope you plan according the movement, you have to plan according to the movement and you have to take steps wisely in order to profit.
Trading in my opinion is something that always depends on luck, of course you can calculate sometimes whether or not it is going up or down but you can never be sure of it, because it depends on many fact  that we cannot intervene with , so the way I see it trading is like gambling with lesser risks.

Money management and a technique/strategy.  Surley a thing of luck but you can limit your loss with good money management.  Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.  As long as you have more wins on your side everything is fine.

//laex
I think the most important thing when trading is we have to believe in yourself, not scared, keep calm. Many people scared lost and not keep calm,it will we fail, the last straw is lost all money,so if you are a sensitive person, you should stop the game.Trading not suitable for you
The market is a battlefield

Just keep going.. there's always a part of losing just like in gambling. But for as long as you're ready to take the risks and accept how to lose then that's fine. Trading is really good once you're already know how it works.
If the losts were total and until the traders have no left money then the traders can't keep going, the point of trading is to prevent from losing and gaining profit as much as it can,and i can't argue that losing is sometimes occur but can't be considered as a reason for people to be success need to lose first, success is depend on how you prevent to lose
So the first step in trading is we accept lost."Success is depend on how you prevent to lose" i'm not sure, but i think success is depend on you, lucky, campaign and important is you should confident, patient also a part of success

you don't have to lose anything in total. it is right that there are times when prices go down but there is a solution for everything and you can get out and even if you are fast enough you can make some profit from a falling price too. and not to mention the bottom and the reversal that happens after that.

you see it all comes down to experience and how a trader handles each situation.
2690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [LSK] Lisk speculation on: January 01, 2017, 12:37:02 PM
Very huge financial resources and very slow development. The greatest failure of 2016. Just a shame.  I have sold my Lisk at the 25-22k and don't regret it.
May be 2017 will bring some happy days for us. I am still holding a bunch of coins with me , lets hope for the best.

we all hope for the biggest pumps in all the coins we are holding.
but about lisk i have lost my hope for anything big. it may have some small rises as in tiny pumps but i don't see anything big out of it.
2691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need an incentive to make first world population use Bitcoin on: January 01, 2017, 12:30:10 PM
Maybe the incentive will be the first world observing lesser worlds having an explosion in commerce due to crypto.

agreed,,
why waste efforts trying to convert 320m americans 64m brits. 700m europeans
when aiming for 1.2bill africans, 1.2bill indians, 4.5billian asians would hlp the world more. while having less resistance due to the lack of corporate control there

Don't forget South Americans... Places like Venezuela (facing a crisis right know) are adopting Bitcoin to save purchasing power..
So why are they not mass adopting Bitcoin? Or are they and we are just not noticing? Bitcoin could be a good way of at least trying to escape a harsh inflation. I see why some poorer countries do not use Bitcoin for micro transactions because of the high fees, but what are the reasons for the rest?

i doubt that people in those countries (mostly third world developing countries with little resources and lack of interenet access) are really "adopting" bitcoin. there may be some increased activity in these countries because of their economy situation but in the end they don't have enough money to feed their family, so they are not really looking for big investments.
2692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: January 01, 2017, 12:24:52 PM
Ofcourse Ethrium is future of cryptocurrency . But still it remains always altcoin but will remain the king of altcoin . It can't take place of bitcoin . Because of limited services and less user of eth than bitcoin user .

when an altcoin has no spread it can never become successful in the long term. and right now a very large portion of available coins are only controlled by a few people such as Vitalik and others in the foundation. and they are the ones who decide everything about this coin and the price. there will come a day when people leave it and the volume is only these guys trading among themselves.
2693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Happy new year 2017 if Bitcoin price reaches 2000 dollars on: December 31, 2016, 03:15:05 PM
last year price started from $450 and the year before that price was $200 and if you loop past the MtGox fake pump you can see before that price was rising the same way every year too.

so i would not be surprised at all if we finish 2017 with $2000 or above.
2694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pushing ETC to $2.00 on: December 31, 2016, 03:04:09 PM
I'm finally glad that ETC broke the cap of 1/10th of ETH, as it used to be for months. About ETC at 2$, that's more because of Bitcoin increase than of ETC price rise, but it is still worth mentioning it.

it is mostly because the ethereum whales was so busy putting up buy walls to prevent ETH crash and also they tried so hard to pump ETH so they forgot about dumping ETC and it could go up. just remember that it won't last long.
2695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Trading for Novices on: December 31, 2016, 02:57:42 PM
Note: I have a limited knowledge of Bitcoin and even more limited knowledge of various altcoins

I would like to begin trading altcoin to make small amounts of money, I have read many articles on this site, and understand that I will not make 1000 dollars a day. If you could leave any knowledge at all on trading, recommended sites, good altcoins, etc. it would be greatly appreciated. Please use laymans terms. If you require any further specification about my question, I implore you to ask. Many thanks in advance.

Pro Altcoin Trading Tip:  Buy and hold Litecoin.  You will be scalped and eaten alive if you try any trading of shet coins.

Your opinion is subjective, you say buy and hold LTC if everyone decided to hold their coins who will sell to the buyer. For me LTC has been very disappointing this year and I don't see this changing soon even with the SW implementation coming soon

there is always day traders and also miners dumping so you don't have to ever worry about lack of available coins in the market to buy from. and that goes for all the markets not just litecoin.

also he is saying that because litecoin is one of those coins with a great future, profit-wise because of the development and also the involvement of the Chinese in it.
2696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you regret spending money on this year? on: December 31, 2016, 02:50:38 PM
i sold some bitcoin Sad that is the only regret i have in 2016
i used to joke around saying as soon as i sell bitcoin the prices are going to go up and what do you know, it actually happened. facepalm

i sold a small amount after 2 years at $880ish and price broke $900 resistance the next day. next time i wanted to sell anything i am going to announce so others can use it as speculation Grin

p.s. i am still a BitcoinHodler though.
2697  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reached $800 and marketcap is now over $13B! on: December 30, 2016, 01:31:11 PM
What do you guys think.
$1000 by tomorrow night?
Possible?

it is possible only because it is bitcoin we are talking about, and we have seen many strange things happen.

but in my speculation, the chances of that happening is a bit low right now. because of the big rise that has happened prior to this, i think the support is getting thin. so it needs more time to build up the support then go up.
in other words: more time needed!
2698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ethereum is dead ? on: December 30, 2016, 01:23:51 PM
Ethereum is not dead yet. It is going through a sharp correction as price was being pumped massively in 1 year. It would take some time for Ethereum to find a bottom as whales are going into Monero and Bitcoin.
Ethereum will not die as there are many projects under their banner.

actually the real whales of ethereum has not gone anywhere, the regular trader whales have gone and that is why price crashed. but the real whales holding the majority of the coins are still there, you can see them pump the coin today and also you can see their protective buy walls all over the place.
2699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How Bittrex is pulling money from people on: December 30, 2016, 01:17:52 PM
what is this topic Cheesy
a big wall of text and the TL;DR of it is "i bought some altcoins and lost money, so bittrex is bad"

i mean come on, if you can't make profit trading, then don't do it. and trust me you will have the same experience on any other place too, also if you trade forex, gold, stocks,... you will end up saying the same thing you said here.
2700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where is the moon? on: December 30, 2016, 01:11:07 PM
In my opinion, a coin will be going to the " moon " if it goes above 1,000 times its lowest value. I am currently looking for the next bitcoin but can't find any coin that fits my liking now.
I believe the next coin that goes up 1,000 times will be a coin that nobody will expect.

we are looking for a coin that can move like bitcoin (from 0 to $1000) but sorry to burst your bubble and tell you that no such coin exists today and nothing will exist in the foreseeable future either. because every single coin that has been created so far, was created for the sole purpose of being pump and dumped.

to answer OP i have to say, i don't care much about moon as long as there is a profit in the altcoin and i can get in early.
