[MAID][SIA][STORJ] up/dl test
Those following test are not accurate for many reason : I don't have a good internet connection, I've several p2p softwares connected at the same time (BTC core, SIA, STORJ share, MAID) and a lot of internet page are open on my computers (>60). MAID alfa only allow file of less than 25Mb so I used this file to run my test : Name: aaabbb.zip, Type: application/zip, Size: 24848251 bytes. I ran storj on debian, sia & maid on w7. I used default setup for all. Those test are for me just a photo of what's available today, but they are all moving fast to improve their software, feel free to run your own test and share it here

high interest, pos coins
yes they are out there ... 200% yields ... so it forces a downward pricing model.

NOTE:
Quote is from tevasu

if me; i say

I targeted a well coded, mid-range or low entry cost, low coin inflation, healthy network, coins with existent and established community.

POW entropy is fundamental to creating 'currency' coins, that will likely depreciate over time unless constantly up scaling in participant growth.

POS is the most cost efficient, low carbon foot print, ecologically sound, type of block chain in the crypto world, they lack fundamental to creating a liquid and volital 'currency', however they serve as 'store of value' ledgers exceedingly better than POW chains.

A is not B.

2687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL][ZET] Open Discussion - Zetacoin reasons why you like or dislike it on: August 18, 2016, 11:52:58 AM
Just about all of the things you listed are not unique to Zetacoin. It may be a good coin, but it needs something unique

As far as I can tell ZET is the oldest and most capitalized SHA256 alt POW ...  i call these the naked pows ... there are 2 dozen in Scrypty that are viable ... but very few SHA256 'naked' pows have survived ... I think this might be a major miscalculation by the SHA256 miners ... the void has been filled by hybrids and AUX POW.

Dear Reddheads,

Okay cool to see development.  But they is missing a chance to raise $millions.

They ought have released a spin off in Graphene, and challenged Steem, RDD could have functioned as the base reserve to manage the project.

Any hoot. I'll read up on the details.

NOTE: This is not a hard fork  Grin

Looks like many in the UN family are still listed Wink
https://www.coinpayments.net/supported-coins
So they haven't exactly left TeamUNO.

Coinpayments.net has a nice feature in that they provide their own chain feed to verify payments.

Uno is not focused on payments but rather perfecting a reputation as the low inflation reserve and base currency.  We get that right then everything else is a cherry on top with sprinkles.

2692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralised-Liquidity Exchange -- 'D-L-Ex' on: August 17, 2016, 01:13:13 PM
Well IMZ is more eloquent in describing the intent here.

In my own words -- peer2peer / OTC / community to community exchange.

This has always been a goal of UNO, and thus far UNO has advanced to the stage of being a on the books base pair that trades in 100+ markets.

But there still exist the need for 'off market' exchanging.   I call these 'swaps'.  They act as a kind of insurance, but function more like a hedge.  There is also the Liquidity function that comes into play, where a coin may 'borrow' one of the more liquid coins to stabilize their market.  This is all decent OTC, trust based.

Keypoint, this is an Altcoin Discussion based thread, lets make Altcoin connections and slowly see what can be achieved from there.

this looks like a case of VC guys trying to flip a fast buck, and with little creative efforts.
2694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MYR(MyriadCoin)-Hardfork and Ticker change to XMY on: August 17, 2016, 12:20:40 AM
Hardfork has never done good for other coins like ETH for example recently.

g'dam ETH ... now they even screwed the term 'hardfork'

ETH did a hardfork to roll back transactions, and deleted any principle to the value of immutability.
Myraid is doing a hardfork to improve the code, but no one will have their money mutated with Wink

Going to Yes scrypt is a nice add, Qubit seems to be dead, so there will be a healthier miner commmunity in Yescrypt.

The ticker change is nothing major, and I liked the confusion with Malaysian Currency.

BTW ...  What feature of this coin?  ... solid position to be a long term 'currency' ... most decentralized POW solution ... what 5 scrypts?

Re: is it possible to move my appdata folder to another hard drive?
i wouldn't have a clue where to start. maybe i should buy another hard drive.  Cheesy

1. Backup your wallet.dat.
2. Copy your Bitcoin folder somewhere else.
3. Start bitcoin core with -choosedatadir=1, and set it to the directory where you copied your Bitcoin folder to.
4. Wait for bitcoin core to reindex.
5. Restart core to see if anything went wrong just in case.
6. Done. You can delete the old files but it's always recommended to keep at least 1 copy of your data files in case of corruption (so you don't need to resync).

About #3. To do this on windows, use the run window (win+r shortcut) and enter
Code:
"X:\x\x\bitcoin-qt.exe" -choosedatadir=1

Change the Xs to where bitcoin-qt.exe is located.
or just view the properties of bitcoin-qt shortcut and add -choosedatadir=1 in the target box. But remember to remove it later or it'll ask you to choose datadir every time you open bitcoin-qt using that shortcut.
2697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top ten AltCoins on: August 14, 2016, 11:59:35 PM
NAUT is not a coin.
XRP is not a blockchain.
LEO is a bowel movement.  EDRc very similar.
Plus lots of ICO garbage, certain puff it's gone, in 8 moons from now.

Missing top10 contenders:

Digibyte
Black
Decred

Also Altcoins vs DAC/DAO projects vs token/assets needs defined.  Clearly some confusion.

 Wink
WILD CARD! Nice to see POT on the list, it has just high enough inflation to force market volitility, which is redistribution, and it is branded with a very popular product, so yes you just might see POT as one of the primary blockchains in the future, the past distribution numbers are great also.

here's a poll from april

What's the word on the website; the pretty thing has dissappared?

Other than that nice solid support at 300sats, super low inflation, great classic POW in the making.

Will trade TALK for GLC 1:1;
both @300sats 65M coins;
you can stake the TALK and yield 15% and trade me your gains back at 1:1 again.

Fair hedge.
